Instead, furniture acts as a temporary boundary for the surfaces, creating maximum flexibility that adapts over time and according to the users needs. Diablo 4 did huge numbers when it was released in June 2023, with positive reviews, impressive sales numbers, and over 12 million players. But for those who finished the game's campaign and dove into its endgame content, the real meat of an ARPG like Diablo, it was clear something was amiss.Item progression was frustrating and often felt like a chore. There were few endgame activities and little reason to do them. Seasonal updates added new mechanics and smaller fixes but didn't solve the underlying structural issues players had with the latest entry in Blizzard's legendary loot-chasing franchise. It carried echoes of Diablo 3's 2012 launch, when players quickly became frustrated by its endgame loop (and its real-money auction house). Was Blizzard repeating the same mistake twice?What a difference a year makes. Whereas it took around two years for Diablo 3 to become great with the addition of its Reaper of Souls expansion, Diablo 4 today is vastly improved to the one of last year or even just seven months ago. Whereas I quickly fell off Diablo 4's endgame loot grind at launch, I'm now hooked thanks to free updates that overhauled itemization and revamped its difficulty. As holidays go, New Years Eve is one of my favorite parties. I love the glitter, the stupid glasses and hats, and the traditions, but most of all, I love the food. The best holiday fare is snackable, shareable, and often hand-heldall among my favorite food descriptors. This is obviously not an original creation: Gooey butter cake emerged from St. Louis, straight out of the pandoras box of Butter Golden cake mix. Its sweet, its decadent, and a sure conversation starter. I recommend having some hot coffee at the ready to balance it outbetween the sugar and the caffeine, everyone will have plenty of energy to make it past midnight. Air Fried KielbasaI have fond memories of childhood New Year's parties at which someone would always serve baked kielbasa slices, skewered on toothpicks, alongside mustard and sauerkraut. The holidays are probably the absolute worst time for a software update to render Metas Quest headsets unusable, but thats exactly the situation were in right now. According to posts on Reddit and Metas own forums, users are experiencing issues with brand new and existing Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S headsets essentially locking themselves into either an error message or a never-ending black screen after installing their most recent software.Its not entirely clear whats causing the bug, although a popular theory across Metas forums seems to center on devices that havent been used in a while. Essentially, while users running the most recent Quest firmware seem to be able to update their devices just fine, those updating from older versions of the firmware are more likely to encounter problems (that would include me, although my headset is currently a few hundred miles away from me, so Ill have to rely on user reports instead).However, the issue also seems to be common on newer headsets, according to Reddit. Here, users report that brand new headsets will attempt the update as soon as turning on, locking into an error message as soon as the update completes.Its possible new headsets that might have been sitting on a shelf for a while would also be running outdated firmware, but one common thread across both Reddit and Metas forums is that factory resets arent helping, and should be avoided. Chances are youll just be unable to boot up, instead being stuck on a black screen until you give up.While Meta forum members say customer service originally failed to help beyond suggesting they buy a refurbished Quest as a replacement, the company has since changed its tune. Currently, Meta is suggesting Quest owners experiencing the issue attempt to reboot the headset by powering it down, then holding the power button for 45 seconds before releasing it.Its not a guaranteed fix, but its better than nothing. Supposedly, a more robust solution is on the way, as Meta says its working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.For now, redditors experiencing the issue are advising new Quest owners avoid turning on their headsets while existing Quest owners should hold off on any updates. Presumably, new Quest owners could also turn their headset on in a location without wifi to avoid the update, although functionality on a new headset will be severely limited without internet access.

If youve recently built a computer, congratulations! You should be proud. Theres nothing like turning a new computer on, seeing it work just fine, and breathing a sigh of relief knowing that youre done and you wont have to spend hours troubleshooting why its not working. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but if you happened to install Windows on your PC during October or November, you might not be quite finished yet.According to an update to Microsofts known issues page, copies of Windows installed through USB or CD using the October 2024 and November 2024 updates are being affected by a bug that will prevent them from accepting any future security updates. These updates are vital for keeping your computer virus- and exploit-free, but luckily, theres a fix. Its just a bit of a hassle.Essentially, youll need to reinstall Windows using new installation media that comes with the December 2024 update included. Just navigate to Microsofts Windows 11 download page, scroll down to Create Windows 11 Installation Media, open mediacreationtool.exe and follow the instructions in the app. Its straightforward, if laborious.Luckily, the company says its working on a resolution, so hopefully a better solution that doesnt involve reinstalling your operating system is on the way. Still, when it comes to problems with security updates, its better to implement fixes as soon as possible.On the plus side, if you downloaded the Windows 11 October or November updates through Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog website, you shouldnt need to take any further action. The issue only affects people who installed the October or November updates using physical media (which is common among IT professionals and some PC builders).The issue joins a known list of problems with the Windows 11 24H2 update, including issues with specific audio devices, Outlook, and even some Ubisoft video games.

President-elect Donald Trump has asked the Supreme Court to delay the law that could ban TikTok until after his inauguration. In an amicus brief, Trumps attorney D. John Sauer wrote that the future president wants the opportunity to find a solution to the problem through political means.The law requiring a ban or sale of TikTok is set to take effect on January 19, 2025, just one day before Trumps inauguration. The brief calls the ban date unfortunately timedand argues the incoming president should have more time to work on a deal with TikTok. TikToks legal team cited a similar concern in its requests for a delay of the ban. The brief also cites Trumps dealmaking experience and his social media platform Truth Social.President Trump alone possesses the consummate dealmaking expertise, the electoral mandate, and the political will to negotiate a resolution to save the platform while addressing the national security concerns expressed by the Governmentconcerns which President Trump himself has acknowledged, Sauer writes.Trumps stance on a TikTok ban is much different from the one he took in his first term, when he pursued aTikTok ban in 2020. He also floated the idea that Microsoft could work out a deal, an appropriate deal, so the Treasury of the United States gets a lot of money without explaining exactly how such a deal would work.President Trump reversed his opinion on a TikTok ban during his second campaign.
