TECHCRUNCH.COMDelta SkyMiles members can now earn miles riding with Uber, ending its deal with LyftUber announced during CES 2025 a multi-year exclusive partnership with Delta Air Lines that allows SkyMiles members to earn miles when they ride with Uber or order delivery through Uber Eats in the United States. The deal means an end of Deltas partnership with Lyft. The Uber partnership will launch in the spring, giving Uber customers access to perks like improved Uber pickup and drop off experiences at Delta hubs, according to a statement from the company. When asked what this meant, an Uber spokesperson declined to elaborate.Lyft and Delta formed its partnership in 2018; it will expire April 7, 2025. Years ago we teamed up with our first airline to unlock more ways to uplevel and innovate around travel experiences, thereby turning those customers into Lyft loyalists, an emailed statement from Lyft reads. Were continuing to expand our horizons by joining forces with major brands who share our customer obsession, like Alaska Airlines, Chase, DoorDash, Mastercard, Hilton, Disney, and Bilt.Link your Lyft accountand discover a growing world of benefits.Uber is promising its customers with accounts linked to a Delta Skymiles membership 1 mile per dollar spent on $40+ restaurant and grocery orders with Uber Eats and on UberX rides to and from the airport. Premium Rides, like Uber Comfort or Uber Black, will get users 2 miles per dollar spent. And for riders who reserve in advance, they can earn 3 miles per dollar spent. The tie-up with Delta may be one of the steps connecting the airline and Uber with Joby Aviation, an eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) startup that has its own separate partnerships with both Uber and Delta. Deltas partnership with Joby means that Delta customers will one day get to tap Jobys electric air taxi service, starting in NYC.Ubers partnership with Joby is more involved. Joby acquired Uber Elevate, Ubers urban air mobility unit, in 2020. Part of that deal was to integrate their respective services into each others apps for a more seamless connection between ground and air travel. Additionally, Jobys air taxi software, ElevateOS, which came out of that partnership, promises to enable on-demand mobility not unlike hailing an Uber ride.Last October, the three companies held an event in NYC where they spoke about a vision of connected mobility, stopping just shy of announcing a full-blown, three-way partnership.Joby, which is backed by both Uber and Delta, still has to get the necessary certifications to operate an electric air taxi service, but is aiming to launch in 2025.Spokespeople for Uber, Joby, and Delta declined to share any advancements in what I am predicting will be an obvious alliance.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 156 Views

TECHCRUNCH.COMSam Altmans family responds to lawsuit alleging he sexually assaulted his sisterOpenAI CEO Sam Altman responded to sexual assault accusations from his estranged younger sister on Tuesday, calling the claims entirely untrue.According to the Saint Louis Post Dispatch, in a new lawsuit filed Monday, Annie Altman alleges her older brother sexually assaulted her over a nine-year period in the 1990s and 2000s. The suit echoes claims that Annie previously made on social media in 2021.Sam Altman acknowledged the lawsuit in a post on X on Tuesday, responding with a statement from his brothers, Max and Jack, as well as his mother, Connie. The Altman family alleges the lawsuits claims are false. They write that Annie has faced mental health challenges for several years and they are concerned about her well-being. The Altmans say they have tried to help Annie in many ways, including by financially supporting her for several years. The Altman family writes in the statement:Despite this, Annie continues to demand more money from us. In this vein, Annie has made deeply hurtful and entirely untrue claims about our family, and especially Sam. Weve chosen not to respond publicly, out of respect for her privacy and our own. However, she has now taken legal action against Sam, and we feel we have no choice but to address this.Over the years, she has accused members of our family of improperly withholding our fathers 401k funds, hacking her wifi, and shadowbanning her from various websites including ChatGPT, Twitter, and more. The worst allegation she has made is that she was sexually abused by Sam as a child (she has also claimed instances of sexual abuse from others). Her claims have evolved drastically over time. Newly for this lawsuit, they now include allegations of incidents where Sam was over 18.Sam Altman has long been estranged from his sister, according to a 2023 profile of the OpenAI CEO in New York Magazine. While Altman frequently talks about his brothers, who are themselves tech entrepreneurs and investors, he rarely mentions his sister publicly. At one point, per the New York Magazine profile, Annie asked him to repost her podcast, a request that Sam refused. The piece separately noted that Altman has repeatedly tried to offer Annie money, gifts, and even to buy her a house. The profile piece echoes some of the concerns around Annies mental health that Altman described in his response to her accusations on Tuesday. It describes Annie as having an unstable personal life, noting that she once moved 20 times in a single year. The death of their father, Jerry, in 2018 was apparently a tipping point for Annies mental health.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 158 Views

TECHCRUNCH.COMDelta Air Lines announces an AI-powered assistant in its mobile app and free onboard YouTube Premium and Music at CES 2025Over the last few years, Delta Air Lines presence has become a staple of CES, with the airline regularly hosting splashy keynotes. This year, the company has rented out the Sphere to announce its latest slate of updates. These include (can you guess it?) an AI-powered assistant in its app, as well as an updated in-flight entertainment system with 4K HDR displays and Bluetooth connectivity. Members of Deltas SkyMiles frequent flier program will also soon get free access to YouTube Premium and YouTube Music on board the companys planes. Delta announced these updates at CES 2025. The new AI assistant, which Delta calls the Delta Concierge, will roll out over the course of the year. Users will be able to interact with it using voice or text. In this age of large language models, thats not exactly groundbreaking, of course. The idea here is to offer proactive advice and guidance for fliers, starting with notifications about upcoming passport expirations and visa requirements. Looking ahead, the service will also offer destination-specific notifications about local weather, for example. The Concierge will also offer guidance to bag drops, Deltas Sky Clubs, and departure gates. This all feels useful but also a bit underwhelming, and many of these new features feel more like tablestakes than massive innovations. Indeed, Im pretty sure no AI is needed to check whether a fliers passport is about to expire or to tell them where their connecting gate is.The new seatback experience, which Delta describes as the first cloud-based in-flight entertainment system, will begin to roll out in 2026. It promises a major upgrade to existing systems with 4K HDR QLED displays, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 96-terabyte onboard storage system to store movies, TV shows, music, and more. Here, too, it feels a bit like Delta is playing catchup. Uniteds ongoing fleet refresh already offers 4K displays and Bluetooth connectivity, for example. That system may not be cloud-connected, but Im not sure that matters to fliers, especially once the entire United fleet becomes Starlink-enabled. So far, that wont include free YouTube Premium and Music, which Delta plans to offer. And because a CES keynote wouldnt be a CES keynote without announcing a few ideas that arent likely to ever come to market, Delta also on Tuesday announced that it plans to work with Airbus in the next flight test phase of the fellofly project. The idea here is to have planes fly in formation similar to flocks of geese to save energy. This project has been ongoing for a few years now. Its a nifty concept, but it will take so many regulatory changes to put into reality that its unlikely to be used anytime soon.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 152 Views

WWW.FORBES.COMDaniel Cormier Explains Why The UFC Needs Jon Jones To Lose To Tom AspinallEDMONTON, ALBERTA - NOVEMBER 01: Daniel Cormier is seen on stage during a Q&A session prior to the ... [+] UFC Fight Night ceremonial weigh-in at Rogers Place on November 01, 2024 in Edmonton, Alberta. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC)Zuffa LLCDaniel Cormier thinks the UFC may need Jon Jones isnt hating on Jon Jones. The former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion stopped doing that a long time ago.Cormier was being 100 percent authentic when he said the UFC may need Jones to lose to Tom Aspinall when the two men lock horns sometime this year for the undisputed heavyweight championship. In a video on Cormiers channel, the UFC color analyst and media personality discussed Jones rumored $30 million payday for the fight with Aspinall. Cormier isnt sure Jones will get that much, but he also doesnt believe its a ridiculous asking price.Cormier knows Jones could choose to walk away from fighting after the fight, and he believes that if Jones makes that choice, it could leave the promotion with a deficit.Jones leaves, and you can do whatever you want, Cormier said. We could go Aspinall versus [Alex] Pereira, Aspinall versus this guy, or that guy. It doesnt matter. It doesnt matter because, even though Francis Ngannou isnt the name that Jon Jones is, people were saying when Jones became champ, Well, he didnt beat Francis, right? There was a break in the heavyweight championship timeline. If you want to say it like that, we can make massive fights, but it will never overcome the idea that Jon Jones left as the champ. And then that would happen two times back to back. So itd be a massive mistake. Theyve got to get him in there with Aspinall. And youve got to hope that Aspinall wins if you want the heavyweight title to continue being what the heavyweight title has been. Because if he doesnt, and Jones goes, Im walking away as the greatest of all time, as the reigning heavyweight champion, it leaves a gap thats hard to fill. You can see the entire video here:Cormiers point is strong, but time heals old wounds, and it also washes away old stories. While the immediate grades for the next heavyweight champion might not be as high as they would have been if they won the title from Jones, over time, the mystique would come when the right guy comes along to claim the title.MORE FOR YOULAS VEGAS, NV - DECEMBER 12: Conor McGregor celebrates after a first-round knockout victory over ... He hunted the title and won it before moving on to become the biggest star the sport has ever seen.McGregor never lost the featherweight title. He outgrew the division. After McGregor destroyed Jose Aldo in 13 seconds to win the title and then moved up to lightweight, Aldo beat Frankie Edgar for the interim championship seven months later.Aldo became the undisputed champion once McGregor moved up to lightweight. While Aldos second run wasnt as respected as his first, the man he lost the 145-pound title to, Max Holloway, became a certified legend and arguably the best featherweight in history. Not only did Holloway not beat McGregor, hed actually lost to him four years before winning the championship from Aldo. The lineal heavyweight title is a thing, but its not the biggest thing. The fighter holding the belt and the way fans perceive them will always trump the direct lines of a specific title.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 146 Views

WWW.DIGITALTRENDS.COMThe Jackery Explorer 3000v2 is a bigger, better solar generator and power bankhtml PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/loose.dtd" Jackery is one of the foremost names in the power industry, with a huge array of products that cover everything from solar generators to home backup batteries. At CES 2025, Jackery announced the Explorer 3000v2, an absolute monster of a battery bank with 3,000Wh capacity and an output of up to 3,600W. Why does that matter? Well, this portable gadget has enough juice to power appliances with higher energy demands like refrigerators, water pumps, and possibly most importantly coffee machines. More than that, though, it can keep your gear charged up both at home or on a camping (make that glamping) trip.Digital Trends received compensation for considering coverage of these products. The brand had no input on the editorial content and did not influence the coverage. The Explorer 3000v2 is a rugged little generator, capable of operating at temperatures as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit, as high as 185 degrees Fahrenheit, and standing up to rough conditions. Want to haul it to Burning Man in the desert? No problem. Need it to power a space heater in a ski chalet in Telluride? Check.Recommended VideosAnd you can use it at home. Just because it has extensive outdoor applications doesnt mean it cant work for gamers or creative professionals, too. The Explorer 3000v2 can work as an uninterruptible power supply, kicking in under 20 milliseconds if household power is lost. In other words, your desktop wont shut itself off if the power goes out, at least for long enough to save your work and close the application down properly.Jackery 3000v2 JackeryJackerys ChargeShield2.0 technology helps prolong the life of the generators battery banks by optimizing incoming and outgoing charge as well as enforcing other safety features that prevent overheating. Think of how your phone only charges to 80% and then slowly charges the rest of the way. While not exactly the same, its a similar concept. Please enable Javascript to view this contentSome appliances hair dryers, microwaves, toasters, etc. draw a larger amount of power when they start up before dropping to their lower wattage. This generator is capable of keeping up with them, unlike those with lower energy outputs. The Explorer 3000v2 is one of the lightest generators in its weight class, but its still pretty hefty at around 60 pounds. Its not something youll want to carry far in your arms; youll tire quickly trying to lug it too far. While solar charging is slower than AC charging, if you connect the maximum number of solar inputs to the Explorer 3000v2, its nearly on-par for speed. This solar generator is a fantastic option for backup power in an emergency or simply for a little bit of added convenience in your day to day life.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 132 Views
