If you had any doubt that everyone's favourite horror hunk Leon Kennedy is the king of the genre, the Resident Evil 4 remake is now the series' fastest selling entry
You probably already knew how popular Leon Kennedy was anyway, but if you didn't, Resident Evil 4 remake's speedy sales will probably clue you in.While most of the early mainline entries in the Resident Evil series are iconic in their own right, the one that most people tend to look back most fondly on is 4. It's probably because it's way sillier than previous entries, but protagonist Leon Kennedy being such a looker won't knock any points off at the very least. Back in 2023, after the second and third games receiving some very well received remakes, 4 finally got its own turn, and now almost two years on, it seems like it's selling very well. Earlier today, the official Capcom Dev 1 Twitter account shared that the Resident Evil 4 remake had sold nine million copies. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Business development manager and author of Itchy, Tasty: An Unofficial History of Resident Evil Alex Aniel shared a bit more insights into the sales figure, noting that it had reached that number by December 19, 2024. "That would mean [Resident Evil 4] sold at least 1 million copies last quarter (October 1 through December 31), which would be the game's 8th quarter overall," wrote Aniel. "This makes [Resident Evil 4], by far, the fastest selling [Resident Evil] ever." To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Aniel went on to share some other sales stats, comparing various recent Resi games in their respective eighth quarters - Village came in at second, having sold 500,000 copies in its eighth quarter, with Resident Evil 7 coming a little bit behind it with 400,000 copies in its own. It's not really much of a surprise that Resi 4 has done so well, and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the top seller eventually. Resi 2 remake has that title currently with 14 million copies sold, so with 4 only five million behind in less than half the amount of time, it certainly seems feasible. Now we just have to wait and see what's next for the series! Code Veronica remake anyone?

A must-play JRPG is back on the Nintendo Switch after a short leave of absence
To The PointA must-play JRPG is back on the Nintendo Switch after a short leave of absenceIf you've not played it yet, now you can on the go! News by Connor Makar Staff Writer Published on Jan. 6, 2025 A very, very good JRPG is back on the Nintendo Switch e-shop after a brief absence. That means you, yes you at home with a nice pocket of Christmas cash, can grab it right now and have a blast during this depressing January. The game is Triangle Strategy! A visually lovely and fun-to-play RPG from Square Enix, that you can nab for around $60/ 50. It first launched in March 2022 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, but later came to other platforms after a period of exclusivity expired. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. You might be wondering, why did it leave the store in the first place? Well, while there's no outright official reason given, it's in all likelihood due to a change in publisher listed on the store. You see, when it first came out, Nintendo was listed as the publisher, as that company was responsible for international publishing outside of Japan during the exclusivity period. Now that the game is available elsewhere, one can assume that any contracual obligation for Nintendo to handle the publishing Triangle Strategy overseas has concluded, meaning Square Enix has to take over. As such, the store listing would have to be taken down while the backend exchange occurs. This has happened in the past for other Square Enix games like Octopath Traveller, which - alongside the relatively short duration of TS's absence - is why we're pretty sure that this is the cause.Triangle Strategy, if you haven't heard of it, is a cool game well worth your time. It's a slow burn, but its combat and vote systems are truly engaging and help set it apart from other RPGs out there. In addition, it's a hell of a looker. I dare say it's worth trying out on that merit alone. Are you tempted to check Triangle Strategy out? Let us know below!

The Pokmon Center Has Dubbed 2025 "The Year Of Eevee"
Image: The Pokmon CompanyUpdate [Mon 6th Jan 2025, 5:40pm]:Well, that initial limited range of plushies was short-lived! The Pokmon Center has just been graced with an entire 'Year of Eevee' page, collecting together all of the available Eevee-themed merch and teasing a lot more to come.First up in the list of goodies to celebrate the 'Year of Eevee' is a range of 'Evolving Personalities' figures, each modelled after one of the Eeveelutions. The 'Splashes with Vaporeon', 'Skillful Strategy with Jolteon', and 'Satisfied Snooze with Flareon' models are the only ones we have seen so far (this trio will be the first to release), but we can expect to see another six variants launch over the course of the year.Subscribe to Nintendo Life on YouTube790kWatch on YouTube The page also teases the arrival of a new 'Cosy Plush', which will see Eevee and Pikachu immortalised in cuddly fleece material. There's no release date for these just yet, but gosh, do they look soft.Image: The Pokmon CompanyImage: The Pokmon CompanyAccording to the page's official blurb, it seems that The Year of Eevee will be all about merch (much as we anticipated earlier today), with The Pokmon Center teasing "a year of Eevee products" covering everything from "plush to apparel, Pokmon TCG to figures":Do you love Eevee? So do we! So here is our gift to you a year of Eevee products! With tonnes of exclusive products to come in 2025 theres really an evolution for everyone! From plush to apparel, Pokmon TCG to figures, you wont be short on Eevee merch this year.Mark this page as your go-to destination for Eevee announcements, teasers, and more.Eevee fans might want to keep an eye on their bank balances over the next 12 months!Original Story: 11 years ago, we had The Year of Luigi. Last year, we got The Year of Shadow. In 2025, it seems that Pokmon is finally getting its time to shine. Welcome to The Year of Eevee.Okay, this might just be a marketing slogan to sell some merch, but as Serebii's Joe Merrick flagged on BlueSky, The Pokmon Center website currently is boasting an all-new "Year of Eevee" banner complete with a swanky logo. That has to mean something, right? For the time being, this banner only leads you to the site's collection of Eevee plushies, but it's only January! Who knows what the rest of the year might bring??Pokmon Center has just updated and it seems that 2025 is the "Year of Eevee", even with its own logo. Presumably this is just a merch celebration. With Prismatic Evolutions releases covering all year, it makes sense. You guys won't jump to crazy conclusions, right? Joe Merrick (@joemerrick.bsky.social) 2025-01-06T10:31:10.529ZWe know that Pokmon Legends: Z-A is due out at some point in 2025, so what else might The Year of Eevee entail? A new Eeveelution? A Pokmon: Let's Go, Eevee! remake? A fresh 'Detective Eevee' IP? We're trying to remain optimistic here and not give in to the assumption that it's just a plushie restock (while very much accepting that it's probably just going to be a plushie restock). Come on, TPC, surprise us! 2024 marked a year-long celebrationWhat do you hope to see from "The Year of Eevee"? Flying Flea electric motorcycles will feature connected services powered by Qualcomm
Flying Flea is the latest electric two-wheeler manufacturer to embrace the connected vehicle trend. At CES 2025, Flying Flea shared plans to integrate some of Qualcomms Snapdragon products into its upcoming line of motorcycles, bringing connected capabilities like voice assistance, smartphone-enabled keys, and customizable ride modes.Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield introduced the Flying Flea brand in November 2024, and although it hasnt started shipping vehicles yet, its already one of several e-motorcycle brands that is delivering the types of connected features that are already common in cars. Connected services are fundamentally transforming the two-wheeler and micromobility markets, providing riders with real-time diagnostics, advanced navigation, and personalized ride settings all of which enhance the safety and convenience of their journey, Nimish Shrivastava, senior director of product management at Qualcomm, said in a statement.Verge Motorcycles, a Finnish e-motorcycle startup that is demoing its bikes at CES 2025, has also embraced intelligent and connected features, like different ride modes, over-the-air updates, a touchscreen interface to access vehicle diagnostics and info, GPS capabilities, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.Other high-tech two-wheeler brands to hit the streets lately include Damon Motorcycles, Harley-Davidsons LiveWire, and Zero Motorcycles.Flying Flea expects to drop its first vehicles in early 2026: the classically styled FF-C6 and the scrambler-like FF-S6. The brands future lineup will integrate Qualcomms Snapdragon QWM2290 system-on-a-chip (SoC) and Car-to-Cloud platform.Qualcomm launched its QWM2290 SoC in 2023 specifically for two-wheelers. SoCs connect multiple functions in a single chip, like infotainment, driver assistance, and navigation systems. Qualcomm has said this particular SoC can give riders alerts for low battery with recommendations for nearby charging stations, real-time navigation, safety features like alerts if a rider goes above the speed limit, and vehicle monitoring. In the case of Flying Flea, the SoC powers the vehicles core vehicle control unit that runs Flying Fleas operating system. This enables the rider to manage the vehicle and ride experience through a display cluster on the bike.Combined with Qualcomms Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud platform, Flying Flea vehicles promise to maintain communication between the rider and the machine both on and off the motorcycle with 4G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity. This manifests as a voice assist button, preset ride modes that the rider can customize based on needs and terrain, and the ability to use a mobile phone as a smart key to unlock and start the motorcycle, according to the company.

CISA says no indication of wider government hack beyond Treasury
In BriefPosted:12:02 PM PST January 6, 2025Image Credits:Chip Somodevilla / Getty ImagesCISA says no indication of wider government hack beyond TreasuryThe U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency(CISA) said in a brief statement Monday that there is no indication that any other U.S. federal agency was hacked during a recent cyberattack at the U.S. Treasury Department in December. The Treasury confirmed the breach on December 30, attributing the intrusion to China government-backed hackers, telling senior U.S. lawmakers in a letter that the hackers had remote access to Treasury employee workstations and access to unclassified documents. The letter said the hackers obtained a private key from one of its technology vendors, BeyondTrust, which the department uses for remote technical support. Its not yet clear how the BeyondTrust key was stolen. The Washington Post reported last week that the hackers specifically targeted the Treasurys global sanctions office.A spokesperson for the Chinese government in Washington, D.C., previously denied the allegations. In its statement Monday, CISA said it continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with relevant federal authorities to ensure a comprehensive response following the Treasury cyberattack.Topics

The company commanded a 28.7% share of the desktop CPU segment in Q3 2024, up 9.6 percentage points compared to the same quarter the year prior. In mobile, AMD held 22.3% of the chip market as of last Q3, a 2.8-percentage-point uptick from the previous fiscal period. The company isnt resting on its laurels, though. AMDs 2025 strategy is aggressive and multi-pronged and it begins with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Aimed at gamers and creators, the 9950X3D has 16 cores based on AMDs Zen 5 architecture clocked up to 5.7GHz. According to the companys benchmarks, the 9950X3D is 8% faster on average in popular games like Hogwarts Legacy and Starfield versus AMDs 7950X3D.Image Credits:AMDThe 9950X3D, along with the Ryzen 9 9900X3D, a lower-tier processor with 12 cores clocked up to 5.5GHz, will ship sometime in Q1 2025, AMD said.To complement the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D, AMD also announced a new Fire Range lineup of chips targeting midrange laptops and ultraportables. Tea: Sketch #65 "Winter Spell"
I will take about a week of my free time to work on a winter spell. This is my first RTVFX Sketch so I dont have big expectations for this, I will just try to have some fun with it. Heres a quick description of the spell:You cast a skillshot-based projectile. After hitting a target, the projectile will bounce towards the two nearest enemies in a small radius. If one or more enemies are hit, they will be marked for 23 seconds, and this abilitys cooldown will be reset. If the enemies are hit by this ability again while marked, the mark will pop to deal extra damage (and the projectile will bounce again). The spell has no name yet, and maybe never will, but Id like to think of something. For the theme, I want to explore using some aurora-esque elements as the main body of the spell, along with the obvious snow/ice to support it and make it feel more wintery. Hope this explanation makes sense, and I will update this post as I make some progress on it!
