  • The Sims 2 Cheats: All Codes For Legacy Edition
    www.gamespot.com
EA is partying like it's 2004--and that's because the publisher is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its juggernaut franchise The Sims with brand-new re-releases of The Sims and The Sims 2 that include all their DLC and work on modern systems. Since it's been quite a while since most of us have messed with The Sims 2--EA stopped supporting the title when it released The Sims 3 back in 2009, after all--we could use a bit of a helping hand as we revisit this old classic. Fortunately, we've still got plenty of The Sims 2 cheat codes to work with.Fortunately, The Sims 2 has a lot more cheats than The Sims 1 did. Like a lot of first sequels, The Sims 2 is where the series really established most of its norms--meaning that the way you can cheat in The Sims 2 is pretty similar to how you can cheat in The Sims 4. Because of that, in general, The Sims 2 is a lot easier to go back to now than The Sims 1 is.But there is one thing that has stayed the same from the start: You press ctrl+shft+C to open the console where you can type in your cheat codes. No need to mess with any game files or anything like that--the console works by default. Once you've opened it up, just type in one of the codes below and have fun. Just keep in mind that The Sims 2 doesn't tell you if you typed it correctly, and it can be case-sensitive about some of the codes, so be sure to enter them exactly as written below.Continue Reading at GameSpot

  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - For Whom The Bell Tolls Quest Guide
    www.gamespot.com
Many quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offer exciting and compelling stories. However, few compare to one where you need to save your best friend just in the nick of time. And you have to do this one task at a time, as you inch your way closer to your goal, all with limited resources. Here's our guide on how to save Hans Capon as part of the For Whom the Bell Tolls quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers. How to save Hans Capon in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - For Whom the Bell Tolls guideThe Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 For Whom the Bell Tolls main quest is easily one of the most tense experiences in the entire campaign. This takes place immediately after the events of Wedding Crashers, as Henry and Hans find themselves imprisoned in Trosky Castle. Here's the kicker: Henry is allowed to do manual labor as punishment for his crimes. Hans, unfortunately, is set to hang in the gallows for poaching animals. To rescue him from certain doom, you need to find Captain Thomas, who can vouch for your identity and mission, but he's resting in the Maiden Tower high above one corner of the fortress.By far the most important caveat is that Hans is set to get executed once the bells have tolled twelve times. Early on, the first instance is slightly delayed. However, once you hear the first ring of the bells, each succeeding toll happens every five minutes. That means you only have one hour to ask Captain Thomas for help so you could save Hans.Note 1: Many sections of Trosky Castle are considered restricted areas. However, when you complete tasks or talk to NPCs, these areas open up, allowing you to explore them freely without being accosted by guards.Note 2: Henry has lost his inventory, too. This means you have to find lockpicks on your own. Worse, you don't have a single Savior Schnapps item. Until you can brew one, you won't be able to make manual saves at all. Manual labor: Part 1 - Carrying the sacksIt's time to save Hans Capon in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You have a couple of options with regards to the manual labor tasks that you could do. In our playthrough, we chose to carry the sacks at the cart to the storeroom. The shed itself is just up the sloping path, and is right next to the entryway to the castle courtyard. Manual labor: Part 2 - Crafting a horseshoe for the blacksmithAfter carrying three sacks to the shed, you have to talk to Blacksmith Osina, who's kind of a jerk. He wants you to craft a horseshoe. If you helped the blacksmith prior to Wedding Crashers or you've already forged your own weapon, then you know how the crafting system works. If not, here's a quick summary:Grab the materials from the nearby chest. Interact with the anvil so you can start crafting the horseshoe.Place the metallic part over the fire, then move it back and forth to heat it until it has a bright yellow color.Take the metallic part to the anvil and start hammering it. Unlike swords, which you move forward and backward, the horseshoe has to be moved sideways--i.e. left to right. Due to its shape, it has a gap in the middle, so try to be careful when you're striking it as you get into a rhythm. You likely need to repeat the above process a few times until the horseshoe is properly forged. Listen to Henry's comments to hear if you're doing well or if you need to make adjustments.Hand over the horseshoe to Blacksmith Osina when you're done. Getting into the castle: Option 1 - Kabat the Groom and Father NicodemusOsina tells you to talk to the groom, Kabat, who offers a proposal. He knows that you want to get inside the castle and he's willing to give you lockpicks. You can either buy these from him or acquire them for free if you can return his lost rosary. It just so happens that the rosary is in the possession of Father Nicodemus, and he's not going to hand it over that easily:One option is to wait until Nicodemus walks over to the ramparts and stares at the landscape. Assuming your Thievery and Stealth levels are high enough, you might be able to pickpocket the rosary without him noticing.Alternatively, you can challenge him to a Farkle dice match. However, he wants you to wager enough Groschen and you probably don't have enough money at this stage. You could steal some items and trade them to Kabat if need be.Regardless of your decision, you can hand over the rosary to Kabat to receive lockpicks for free. There's also a third option, which is a somewhat roundabout way of doing things. We discuss this below... Getting into the castle: Option 2 - Praying for the captainAs mentioned earlier, your main goal in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 For Whom the Bell Tolls quest is to seek out Captain Thomas in the Maiden Tower (i.e. eastern part of the castle). The interior is a restricted area, but there's a way to explore some portions without any hassles. If you look just outside the smithy workshop, you'll see a man in a red shirt who's kneeling on the ground. Chat with this fellah and tell him that you know Captain Thomas, and that you'd like to pray for him. You'll then be led to the interior, past all the guards, all the way to the top of the Maiden Tower. There, you'll see that Thomas is bedridden and delirious, unable to be of any help to you. His sister Adela says that a physician has a cure, but she doesn't know what that is. Maiden Tower: Maid Regina, your stealing spree, and getting some lockpicksOnce you're done talking to Adela, head back downstars (one floor down the steps) and avoid the guard that's on duty. Enter the bedroom here--i.e. next to Von Bergow's quarters--and circle around until you see a woman who's asleep. This NPC is Maid Regina, and she's your ticket to newfound riches. As usual, sneak and steal her stuff, with the keys being the most important. The keys allow you to open every locked container on this floor, including those that contain weapons, clothing, dice, and other miscellaneous wares. Since the guard is outside, he won't know what you're doing. Take all of these items and bring them to Kabat, the groom from earlier, who'll buy the stolen goods. Now, you should have enough Groschen to purchase his lockpicks. Crone Tower: A chance meeting with KatherineYou should now focus on finding a cure for Captain Thomas in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The idea is to make your way to the Crone Tower in the western part of the fortress, basically across the whole yard of the castle. The issue now is that "red shirt man" won't accompany you, so try to avoid getting spotted by guards and attendants while you're sneaking about.Continue up the spiral stone steps, all the way to a dingy section of the high floor. You should stumble upon a staircase that leads further up (don't go there), as well as doors to your left and right.Enter the door to your right. This is the Alchemy Room. Hurray! You've made it!Katherine is also here, and she's definitely up to something. In our playthrough, we chose the Thievery: "Because we're both thieves" reply. However, this caused Katherine to steal 30 Groschen from Henry. We're unable to confirm if the other options lead to the same result, so try to avoid it if possible. Brewing a cure for Captain Thomas: Part 1 - Where to find the Physician's JournalThe objective now is to find the Physician's Journal in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You don't have to look far because it's actually in the Alchemy Room. Specifically, it's on the shelf to your left upon entering this room.Read the book and turn the page to the entry dated April 30th. It tells you about a scribe who had a fever. You also learn how to make a Fever Tonic for Captain Thomas. Brewing a cure for Captain Thomas: Part 2 - Where to find the ingredientsThe Physician's Journal also has clues as to where you can find the ingredients. Admittedly, doing these steps tends to be time-consuming, and time is a resource that you can spare at this stage:Ginger: Talk to the cook in the Crone Tower kitchen. She'll ask you to help her with a locked chest in the Maiden Tower.Feverfew: Found at the terrace that leads to the lower gate of the castle; these herbs look similar to Chamomile.Elderberry: Talk to the carpenter at the upper gate, since they use the leaves to dye clothes. If you want to speed things up, you could always use the lockpicks that you purchased from Kabat. Simply interact with the wooden chest next to the Alchemy Table. Successfully completing the lockpicking minigame nets you the ingredients that you need, as well as an abundance of other herbs. Brewing a cure for Captain Thomas: Part 3 - How to make Fever TonicYou're getting ever closer to saving Hans Capon in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Now, you have to successfully brew a Fever Tonic using the nearby Alchemy Table. We've already discussed basic mechanics in our Alchemy guide, so we'll just focus on the steps to craft this potion:Base: WineAdd 3x Feverfew to the cauldron and boil for two turns.Grind 1x Elderberry and add to the cauldron.Add 2x Ginger.Distill - Hold the phial and interact with the still to finish the concoction. For Whom the Bell Tolls conclusionWith the Fever Tonic in hand, make a mad dash all the way up to the Maiden Tower. The moment you enter Captain Thomas' room, a cutscene will trigger. If you do everything right and well before the twelfth toll of the bells, you can finally breathe a sigh of relief. That does it for our Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 For Whom the Bell Tolls guide. We told you this quest was an extremely tense experience. Hopefully, you pulled it off in the nick of time. At this point, Henry and Hans will have a meeting with Von Bergow. This is followed by other main objectives, as well as a couple of neat developments:Von Bergow will assign Henry with his own quarters next to the blacksmith's workshop. This allows you to heal your character and save your game. You can tackle a side quest in the castle: Demons of Trosky.Oh, and this isn't the only instance where you'd get to save Hans Capon. Your best pal and typical nobleman-in-distress needs your help every now and then, such as during a quest called Taking French Leave. If you need more tips as you explore Bohemia in the Middle Ages, be sure to visit our Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 guides hub.
