Hold onto your butts because this seemingly idle Wednesday is actually brimming with exciting bargain opportunities. Im particularly all about Froms mech-tastic Armored Core VI going for 61% off and Persona 3 Reload for 42% less. And Ill always holler the praises of a cut price Red Dead 2 (especially when its at a new historical low, pardner). Without much more ado, let's all discover the best Aussie deals for Wednesday, February 12, below:This Day in Gaming In retro news, Im getting an Armacham Black Ops Pyro to light 16 candles on a cake baked for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. I loved this nerve-shredding (at the time) sequel that continued the supernatural suspense story of Alma just call me the chick from The Ring Wade. The tense atmosphere and jump scares from the original were ramped up with more intimidating enemy types and actual, physical interactions with ol Beelzebedhead herself. All talk aside, my most enduring memory of this whole thing was spamming an automatic nail gun to hang dudes like picture frames with 14mm depleted uranium spikes. • Save an Extra $200 Off the Best Budget-Friendly Ergonomic Chair
    www.ign.com
Flexispot is running an early President's Day deal on its workhorse Flexispot C7 ergonomic chair with built-in footrest. It's normally listed at $429.99, but there's a $201 off coupon code "CVSGFG7229" that drops it to only $229. We generally like the Flexispot brand because it includes electric standing desks and ergonomic chairs with solid build quality and a plethora of practical features at a fraction of the price compared to other more well-known models. We rated the Flexispot C7 is the best budget-friendly ergonomic chair and the Flexispot E7 Pro as the best overall standing desk of 2024.Flexispot C7 Ergonomic Chair with Footrest for $229Flexispot C7 Ergonomic ChairThe Flexispot C7 chair with footrest is normally priced at starts at $430, but there's a massive $201 coupon code "CVSGFG7229" that drops the price to $229. The C7 offers a ton of features that are typically reserved for much more expensive chairs. This includes an automatically adjusting lumbar system, adjustable seat depth, adjustable armrests, adjustable seat tilt, adjustable headrest, 128 degrees of recline, and more. The built-in footrest is an uncommon yet very practical add-on. It removes the need to get a separate footrest sitting on your floor, and it folds away when not in use.Flexispot C7 Review (without footrest) by Bill LoguidiceThe FlexiSpot C7 is a solid chair. For the price, however, I would have preferred a more premium-feeling leather or leather-like material instead of fabric, as well as more attention to some other aspects like cushioning. I also found the fact that you can't lock the wrist rests in place an occasional annoyance. If you don't mind some of its quirks and prize adjustment in a chair, then the C7 makes a good choice. Compared to straight-up gaming chairs, its sedate styling means it won't be out of place in even the most conservative of office environments. If you'd like a flashier or more luxurious offering, however, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a more premium chair, Secretlab has kicked off its Presidents' Day Sale, which starts now and runs until February 17. Save up to $139 off Secretlab's popular Titan line of gaming chairs, Magnus gaming desks (including the Magnus Pro electric standing desk model), and accessories like the Secretlab Skins upholstery covers. Unfortunately, newer releases like the Titan Evo Nanogen chair and the recliner add-on are exempt from this sale. Why Should You Trust IGN's Deals Team?IGN's deals team has a combined 30+ years of experience finding the best discounts in gaming, tech, and just about every other category. • Apple, Microsoft Joining Google Using Gulf of America in Maps Programs
    www.cnet.com
Apple Maps and Bing Maps are both joining Google by changing their Maps software and apps to now display Gulf of America on the body of water that's been known as the Gulf of Mexico since the 16th century.Google began to populate the change on Feb. 10, and Apple just a day later, on Feb. 11. Microsoft's Bing Maps had not made the change as of press time, but a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed it was on the way."We are committed to providing users with accurate and up-to-date information," the Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement. "In accordance with established product policies, we are updating Bing Maps to reflect the Geographic Names Information System's nomenclature in the United States, which includes changing the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America in the US."The transition isn't smoothly integrated for any of the map sites yet. Typing "Gulf" in Google Maps still returns "Gulf of Mexico" as the top search result, but selecting it takes users to the body of water with Gulf of America as the label. In Apple Maps, typing "Gulf of Mexico" takes users to a map of the area, and changes the search phrase to Gulf of America. As of Tuesday afternoon, Bing Maps was still returning the Gulf of Mexico wording, but the company statement indicates it's coming soon. Before Apple began to make the change, somepeople on social mediasaid that Google adopting the changed name was enough to make themswitch to alternate map softwarefrom Apple and Microsoft. One person wrote on X, "It gives me no pleasure to announce that Apple Maps and Bing Maps are not superior to Google."A representative for Apple didn't respond to a request for comment.Google said in late January it would be making the change after an executive order from President Donald Trump called for renaming the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America. Google said in a series of social media posts that it was complying with Global Navigation Information Systems data and that it would take some time for the update to go through. On Feb. 10, Google published a blog post letting users know what they will see in its software. In the post, the company said, "The names you see in the Maps app are based on your country location, which is determined by information from your phone's operating system (e.g., iOS and Android), including your SIM, network and locale. If you're using Google Maps on the web, the names are based on the region you select in your Search settings or your device's location, if you haven't selected one."

  • 10 Best Toddler Beds of 2025 That Are Actually Worth Buying
    www.architecturaldigest.com
For parents of young kids, efficiency is no small consideration. How many burp cloths fit in the diaper bag? How streamlined is the stroller? How many to-dos can be packed into an hour-long nap? For those facing the task of furnishing a smaller nursery or sharedkids room, its importance is magnified tenfold. Enter thetoddler bed, a somewhat controversial item, largely due to the fact that many consider it a waste of money: Why purchase abed frame youll only use for a couple of years, when you could skip straight to atwin instead? But for households short on space, a bed that shares the same tidy footprint as astandard crib (and makes use of the same mattress and sheets) can be a godsend. Whats more, many parents report that theirlittle ones slept intoddler beds well past the age of five; others argue that its snug measurements, clocking in at 20 to 30 inches smaller than a twin, makes for a more soothing adjustment to abig kid bed.Of course, the decision ultimately boils down to individual needs and preferences. Many cribs includecrib-to-bedconversion kits andguard railsthat make quick work of switching between sizes. For starters, toddler beds are an affordable option as opposed to opting for a twin or full with rails. A toddler bed is also helpful if you plan to have other children that will need to use your older child's crib. And if your child is prone to jumping off of things, a tot bed is a good route to take since they sit lower to the ground. What are the benefits of a toddler bed? Some toddler bed benefits depend on your preference (like the style of the bed and available colorways), but here are key notes to keep in mind:Structure: The build of a toddler build typically includes shorter frames with built-in rails.Takes up less space: Unlike nearly any other bed (think: twin sized bed or bunk bed), a toddler bed takes up substantially less space, which gives kids more room for playtime.Versatility: While it can vary based on the model, many crib mattresses and sheets can be reused for a toddler bed.Sleep Transition: This type of bed can be especially helpful for kids to adjust to, as many are similar in size to a crib.Is it safe to place a toddler mattress directly on the bedroom floor? No, as mold can grow underneath the mattress, so it needs a proper foundation for ventilation. What is considered a safe bed for toddlers? There are specific qualities, safeguards, and best practices you can keep in mind while purchasing a toddler bed. For a better understanding of toddler bed safety, we spoke with two experts: Lois Lee, MD, MPH, FAAP, FACEP, a pediatric emergency medicine physician at Boston Childrens Hospital, associate professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine at Harvard Medical School, and chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Injury, Violence and Poison Prevention; and Elizabeth Hawse, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician and spokesperson for the AAP.For starters, when do you know if its the right time to transition from a crib to toddler bed? Parents should consider switching from a crib to a toddler bed when the child is 35 inches tall or the rail of the crib is at the childs mid chest (nipple line) when the child is standing in the crib with the mattress on the lowest setting, Dr. Hawse says.Toddler bed safety checklistBefore adding a toddler bed to your cart, there are a number of considerations outlined by Dr. Lee and Dr. Hawse. To promote safety, a toddler bed should:Come with side rails. There are several different types of beds, and the most secure have guardrails included. These are in place to prevent your toddler from falling or rolling off of their bed, and some are removable. If you choose a toddler bed with an optional guardrail, Dr. Lee recommends removing it during playtime, when toddlers might want to move in and out of the bed. Another warning for toddler parents: Keep in mind that some toddler beds have higher sides that slope down, creating an opening in the middle. Dr. Lee warns this could give parents a false sense of security, and due to fall risk, it could be particularly dangerous for toddlers under 3. Toddler safety bed rails, like this one from Munchkin, are also sold separately.Have a low-to-the-ground design. The lower you are to the ground (less than 3 feet), the risk of any serious brain injury is much lower, Dr. Lee says. Dr. Hawse agrees, adding, It is also safe to just put the crib mattress on the floor.Adhere to US safety standards. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has safety standards for toddler beds and I would be sure any bed I purchased met those, Dr. Hawse says.Be available for purchase on reputable websites. Some third-party sellers make similar, perhaps cheaper alternatives, but Dr. Lee says these might not adhere to all of the US safety standards. How to childproof a roomAfter you select the best toddler bed for your space, youll also need to childproof the entire room. Heres a childproofing checklist, supported by tips from Dr. Lee and Dr. Hawse:

  • Shopify took down Kanyes swastika T-shirt shop, but another antisemitic storefront still operates
    techcrunch.com
Shopify took down Kanye Wests online store after the musician sold T-shirts with the swastika symbol.West, who also goes by Ye, advertised his online store in a Super Bowl commercial on Sunday, directing viewers to his website, where the only item listed was the swastika T-shirt.Though Shopify removed a policy banning sellers from hosting hateful content last year, the e-commerce giant removed Yes store on Tuesday, days after the Super Bowl ad appeared. Shopify reportedly shuttered the storefront because of the potential for fraud, and not because it was selling a Nazi T-shirt, according to an internal memo seen by The Logic, a Canadian tech publication. All merchants are responsible for following the rules of our platform. This merchant did not engage in authentic commerce practices and violated our terms so we removed them from Shopify, the company told TechCrunch in a statement.Within the past week, Ye made several antisemitic posts on X, proudly proclaiming that he is a Nazi and does not like or trust any Jewish person. He praised Adolf Hitler, then wrote, I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent before his account was deleted.TechCrunch asked X if Ye deleted the account himself or if it was deleted by the platform; X did not comment. However, X has set the precedent that Holocaust denial, praise of Hitler, and support of Nazis are allowed on the platform. TechCrunch found an example of an X creator with 200,000 followers who uses Shopify to sell products glorifying the Auschwitz death camps and espousing Holocaust denialism. While Shopify removed Yes swastika merch, the other antisemitic shop remains on the platform; Shopify did not return TechCrunchs request for comment on why that shop has been allowed to remain.Additional reporting from Maxwell Zeff.
