The Chairman "Plus" is the more affordable model, coming in at $99.99 (or $85 on sale). It features three easy-glide stainless steel FlexAdjust foils that do a great job of following the contours of your face while keeping friction at a minimum. A precision trimmer attachment keeps your stache and beard lines neat and trim. It's IPX7 waterproof rated so you can use it in the shower, and the magnetically attached head pops up cleanly for easy cleaning. The Chairman Plus can last up to 60 minutes from a single charge and a USB Type-C port means you won't fret over losing a proprietary cable. The Chairman Pro at ManscapedThe Chairman Pro by Manscaped$159.99 at ManscapedThe Chairman "Pro" retails for $159.99, but it ups the ante with four stainless steel foils, a stubble trimmer attachment, an integrated LED spotlight for better visibility, and a longer 75 minutes of runtime. Like the Chairman Plus, wired charging is accomplished over USB Type-C, however the Chairman Pro also has the option for wireless charging. The Beard Hedger by ManscapedThe Beard Hedger by Manscaped$99.99 at ManscapedIf you've got a seriously thick beard where a stubble trimmer just won't do, then check out The Beard Hedger. If you're traveling by plane, most electric shavers are TSA approved and can be brought along in carry-on luggage, but the Handyman makes it easier with its compact size. It has two blade heads: a leveler that takes care of long hair and a foil that shaves down the remaining stubble. The lithium-ion battery features a 60-minute runtime with a 5-minute quick charge option over USB Type-C. A handly little cover is included to protect the blades when not in use. Like Manscaped's other shavers, the Handyman is IPX7 waterproof rated. The Dome Shaver at ManscapedThe Dome Shaver Plus by Manscaped$99.99 at ManscapedThe Dome Shaver Pro by Manscaped$139.99 at ManscapedThe Dome Shaver is Manscaped's answer to effortlessly maintaining a clean shaven head. The premium "Pro" model is upgraded with five FlexAdjust blade heads, an even more powerful 9,500RPM motor, and a longer 90-minute runtime, all for only $35 more. The Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra by ManscapedThe Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra by Manscaped$109.99 at ManscapedLet's face it. • Captain America Brave New World Post-Credits Scene Just Set Up Avengers: Doomsday
    www.denofgeek.com
This article contains spoilers for Captain America: Brave New World.Doomsday is coming. You know it. I know it. And now, thanks to the Leader, Captain America knows it too.In the lone post-credit scene for Captain America: Brave New World, villain Samuel Sterns offers a warning to Sam Wilson, one that points to the next Avengers movie and, potentially, the end of the MCU as we know it.Captain America 4s Post-Credit Scene ExplainedAs the marketing for Captain America: Brave New World loves to remind us, Sam Wilson is not Steve Rogers. And thats a good thing. Brave New World uses Sams history as a counselor to make him into a Captain America who would rather talk things out with baddies than punch them in the face.So its no surprise when Brave New World ends with Sam visiting Thaddeus Ross, no longer in Red Hulk form, in prison on the Raft. Nor is it a surprise when he also drops by the cell of Samuel Sterns, the movies big bad, a gamma-radiated supergenius called the Leader.Even though hes been defeated, Sterns cannot help but gloat, getting a one-up over Sam by showing off his intelligence. Sterns congratulates Sam and his fellow heroes for the work theyve done to save the world. But then he reveals the findings of his calculations. Do you think this is the only world? Sterns asks. Well see what happens when you have to protect this place from the others. On one hand, Sternss reveal is a bit of a let down. Weve known that there are other worlds. Pop culture is choking on multiverses. Heck, this current phase of the MCU is part of the Multiverse Saga, a storyline that includes Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Deadpool & Wolverine. The Leaders reveal seems obvious and Sam seems slow on the uptake here, even if theres no reason for most people on the prime reality Earth-616 to know about these worlds. On the other, Sterns warning isnt just that there are other worlds. Its also that these other worlds are a threat, and that there are heroes on those worlds who would defend them. Thats a more specific reference to the Secret Wars storyline that Marvel Comics published in 2015, the storyline that will inspire the next two Avengers films, Doomsday and Secret Wars.Unveiling the Secret WarsWritten by Jonathan Hickman, Secret Wars actually begins in his Fantastic Four run in 2009, continued through his run on Avengers and New Avengers in 2013, and culminates with Secret Wars in 2015. The storyline involves a crisis in which Earths from two realities start to phase into the same space, resulting in what Reed Richards dubs an Incursion, in which the two Earths interact with one another. Each incursion lasts eight hours, after which the Earths and their respective universes are destroyed. The New Avengers sections of the Secret Wars storyline deals with attempts by the Illuminati of Earth-616a secret group of powerful people that includes Richards, Iron Man, Namor, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Black Bolt of the Inhumans, and Beast/Professor X of the X-Mento save their planet. Along the way, the group meets heroes and villains from other realities, who want to destroy our Earth to save their own. Although initially repulsed by the idea, the desperate Illuminati eventually follows suit, launching attacks on other realities to save Earth-616.New Avengers is a bleak story, one filled with a creeping dread thats more upsetting than anything the MCU has done before. But weve already heard reference to incursions before, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Not only do the Illuminati of Earth-838 featured in that film refer to incursions, but the post credit scene finds Clea (Charlize Theron) arriving to recruit Strange in a battle against the Incursions.Join our mailing listGet the best of Den of Geek delivered right to your inbox!Furthermore, the title of the next Avengers movie suggests that the MCU heroes will deal with the incursions in a manner similar to that of the Marvel Comics heroes. In the final issues of Avengers and New Avengers, most of the heroes either make peace with their inevitable end or die trying to fight it. Only one hero and one villain sees the solution. With the help of the all-powerful Molecule Man, Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom take the fight to the Beyonders, the god-like architects of the multiverse. The trio battles the Beyonders to the point of breaking loose their incredible abilities. While Strange hesitates to take on such awesome power, Doom does not. He takes the power and saves our universe by recreating it, making himself into God.The final Secret Wars series tells the story of Dooms reign as God Emperor of a newly designed Marvel Universe, and how Reed Richards and other heroes fight to restore things as they were.Preparing for DoomsdayGiven the Leaders warning, it sounds like Avengers: Doomsday will show Marvels heroes fighting with those of other realities, all trying to protect their Earth from the incursions. And like the comics, Doctor Doom (played by Robert Downey Jr.) will make an audacious decision that saves his universe, but recreates it in his image. If thats the case, Earths Mightiest Heroes will face their greatest battle yet in Avengers: Secret Wars. Its a good thing the Leader gave Sam the warning now, so he can start assembling his Avengers and possibly set things right.Captain America: Brave New World is now in theaters.

  • This realistic concept shows what the iPhone 17 Air might look like in real life
    9to5mac.com
Weve been hearing a lot of rumors about an iPhone 17 Air recently as Apple seems to be working on an ultra-slim iPhone to be announced later this year. After seeing some low-resolution leaked images showing the back of this new iPhone, a realistic concept now gives us a better idea of what it will look like in real life.iPhone 17 Air conceptCreated by WEIS Studio, the concept imagines what the iPhone 17 Air would look like in a persons hands. The device in the concept is based on the latest leaks, which suggest that the phone will be just 5.5 millimeters thick. For comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro is 8.25 mm, while the iPhone 6 the thinnest iPhone ever released was 6.9 mm.Another aspect shown by the concept is the single-lens rear camera with a bar design, which looks quite different from any current iPhone. This is also in line with the leaked image of the iPhone 17 Airs back part. The concept makes the idea of an iPhone 17 Air even more impressive. If the rumors are true, the new iPhone could be as thin as the M4 iPad Pro, which is 5.3 mm thick in its 11-inch version. Analysts believe that Apple wants to build an ultra-thin iPhone to boost sales as the thinner design would be more compelling for customers who arent tempted to buy another conventional phone.Rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 Air will replace the Plus model, sitting between the base iPhone 17 model and the iPhone 17 Pro. Despite the bolder design, the iPhone 17 Air will have some hardware compromises compared to the Pro models due to its slimness. Apple may have to give up extra camera lenses on the rear and a large capacity battery. You can check out the full concept video on Instagram.iPhone 17 Air is expected to have a 6.6-inch OLED display with a higher refresh rate possibly 90Hz instead of 120Hz like the Pro models. The new phone will also feature Apples in-house 5G modem, which is rumored to be introduced next week with iPhone SE 4. Combined with the A19 chip, the modem should help the phone consume less battery. The iPhone 17 family is expected to be announced later this year. What are your thoughts on this iPhone 17 Air? • Confused Senator Rages That Self-Driving Cars Are Woke
    futurism.com
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) believes thattopics as diverse as solar eclipses and self-driving carsare "neo-Marxist class warfare propaganda."According to a database he released this week, as NPR reports, just over $2 billion of the National Science Foundation's $9 billion budget went to "left-wing ideological crusades masked as 'academic research.'"It's an absurd claim that highlights president Donald Trump's baffling attack on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the US government, which has involved stamping out mentions of women's achievements, threatening federal workers with "severe consequences" for failing to tattle on their peers, and even directing NASA employees to take down pride flags.Further illustrating the emptiness of these pointless attacks on science, the "woke" database includes things ranging from the benign to the downright puzzling, like solar eclipse experiments and research on how to make self-driving vehicles safer. The explanation may be just as dumb as you'd expect. The self-driving vehicle study's description predicts that advanced driving systems will "reduce mobility barriers for older generations or people with disabilities" meaning the word "disabilities" may have triggered it to be flagged, given the Trump administration's crusade against accessibility efforts, which has been grouped in with his anti-DEI executive orders.A different item, flagged as "GENDER" in the spreadsheet, was meant to provide opportunities for women in the electric vehicles industry."It's ludicrous," University of Maryland biologist Joshua Weitz, who has previously received NSF grants, told NPR. "[Cruz] is using his position as a senator to make a big noise about fundamental research and mis-categorizing what's going on in the research and technology sector in this country.""If one looks at this list, you find things that we should absolutely be proud of funding," he added. In a statement, Cruz claimed that "DEI initiatives have poisoned research efforts, eroded confidence in the scientific community, and fueled division among Americans."It's a bafflingly initiative, aimed to politicize extremely basic and important scientific research. As such, it has researchers dumbfounded."The radical work that is being attacked is students walking around in their community, collecting temperature data or looking at maps and identifying a local issue of heat," San Jose State University professor of science education Tammie Visintainer, who was personally singled out by Cruz' investigation for her work to study heat islands and their effects on racially diverse communities, told NPR."There's nothing political about wanting students to learn," Miami University ecologist Kylea Garces, whose grant is also on ice, told the public broadcaster "That's not social justice. That is simply giving all students an opportunity to get a good grade and be able to succeed in their future career."Apart from attacking scientific education grants, the Trump administration has also aimed its sights at the Education Department. Billionaire Elon Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency ripped through data on the American education system this week, notifying those who previously worked on it that they had been fired."The inmates are running the asylum, and the goal is chaos and the goal is destruction," former Obama-era education secretary Arne Duncan told the Washington Post. "Weve never seen anything like this in our lifetime."Share This Article

  • The 'Enron Egg' At-Home Nuclear Reactor Is a Parody Product
    www.cnet.com
Have I got a deal for you. The future of energy production can be yours in the comfort of your own home. Meet The Egg, an at-home nuclear reactor from Enron, a trusted name in American energy. If you buy The Egg, I will also throw in a bridge in Brooklyn free of charge.None of this is real, but Enron.com is now a website detailing The Egg, a fictional product positioned as "a revolution in energy." It's an egg-shaped tabletop device with a heat-resistant casing, heavy-water pump, monitoring system and a uranium zirconium hydride reactor. There's even a product reveal video that perfectly mimics a real tech launch.Fake Egg, real Enron? Upgrade your inbox Get cnet insider From talking fridges to iPhones, our experts are here to help make the world a little less complicated. The Egg may be fake, but the Enron name is alive and may be part of a marketing push for something bigger.Enron was responsible for an infamous corporate scandal. The energy giant filed for bankruptcy in 2001, marking a sharp fall from grace. CNET's coverage at the time noted Enron had been "among the most successful companies in the world" and that its collapse was "one of the most dramatic corporate flameouts in history."Enron's historic failure makes The Egg and its promise of energy independence for homeowners all the more humorous. The product supposedly launched on Jan. 6, as announced on social media. The website doesn't list a price for The Egg, but suggests it's significantly more affordable than the $19,000 to $50,000 price tag for a traditional energy system. There's no buy-it-now option, but you can sign up for a newsletter. The company has been sending out updates that perpetuate the idea of The Egg as a real product. Gaydos is the co-author of a book about Birds Aren't Real, a movement designed as a parody of conspiracy theories. Birds Aren't Real pushes the idea that birds are government spy drones.Enron also incorporated in Texas in late December 2024 as Enron Energy Texas LLC, according to documents shared by Chabot. The company followed that up by filing to become a retail electric provider in the state. That filing lists Gregory Forero -- co-founder and CEO of HGP Storage-- as a vice president of the LLC. HGP Storage is an energy storage company in Texas. HGP managing partner Evan Caron is also listed as a vice president. That means real energy industry professionals are connected to Enron's moves. The Egg may be a harbinger of more to come -- a joke that catches attention and garners publicity ahead of a more serious business launch. We'll have to see what unfolds. The only thing that's certain is you can't order a mini nuclear reactor for your coffee table.

  • 7 Best Wet-Dry Vacuums of 2025, Tested and Reviewed by AD
    www.architecturaldigest.com
Both cordless stick and robot vacuums were tested on how well they maneuver around furniture, into corners, and up against baseboards.User-Friendly FeaturesMany vacuums were assessed based on user-friendly features like self-cleaning functions. For vacuums that did not have this feature, we gauged the difficulty level of cleaning the vacuum. We also determine if vacuum instructions, directions, and visual and audio alerts are easy to understand. What to Look for in the Best Wet-Dry VacuumsIf youre looking for a wet-dry vacuum, its important to understand what it can and cannot dodepending on the model you select. Here are key factors to keep in mind:VersatilityAs a general rule, most wet dry cordless stick vacuums are most effective when vacuuming and mopping hard floorsunlike the best regular cordless stick vacuums, which can remove dry debris from both hard floors and carpet. Some of the few exceptions are the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine, which has a swappable wet roller head that includes a clean water tank and a dirty water tank. The Tineco Floor ONE Switch S7 has a swappable battery, but it is made up of two separate vacuums (one for wet use and one for dry use). The Bissell CrossWave does well on both hard floors and rugs, but it is not designed to clean carpet. The robot vacuums on our list are versatile enough to vacuum carpets and also vacuum and mop hard floors. We only included models that are lightweight enough to lift, as no one wants a wet mop dragged across carpeted areas.Cleaning AbilityThe primary benefit of wet-dry vacuums is convenience. These appliances offer a high suction power that you wont get from pushing a manual mop. Plus, they boast dual-cleaning power to pick up dirt and remove messes and stains.Space and WeightWeve included the weight for the vacuums featured in this list, and most of the cordless stick varieties are lightweight and self-propelling for easy maneuvering. Plus, stick vacuums shouldnt take up much storage space. Robot vacuums and their accompanying docking stations tend to be heavier, so you likely wont want to keep moving them around.Battery LifeAll of the vacuums on our list are battery-operated. Depending on the size of your home, you may want to choose a model with a long-lasting battery so you wont have to keep stopping to charge it. With robot vacuums, the process is much easier, since the robot will automatically go back to the charging dock, recharge itself, and then pick up where it left off cleaning. Battery life is a spec thats included for each vacuum in this guide.Self-Cleaning FeatureSelf-cleaning isnt always completely self-cleaning. Youll still need to remove the dirty water and empty it. Depending on the model, you will likely also remove the brush rolls for a more thorough cleaning, or to rinse the soap off. And with robot vacuums, youll also need to empty the dust bin at some point.
