    www.gamespot.com
Silksong, the highly anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight that has the player take control of the mysterious Hornet, has been removed from Nintendo's eShop. While the game is still listed on the PlayStation Store, Xbox, Steam, and the Nintendo eShop in the EU, the circumstances of why it was removed from Nintendo's North American eShop is a mystery.A strong theory is that it's being moved to a Switch 2 launch and not outright canceled. Just last month, developer Team Cherry assured fans that development was going smoothly and that the game would indeed be released at some point.Yes the game is real, progressing and will release. <3 Matthew Griffin (@griffinmatta) January 18, 2025 "Yes the game is real, progressing and will release," said Team Cherry marketing and publishing lead Matthew Griffin, in response to a fan asking about Hollow Knight: Silksong's development. Unfortunately, no other details were given. Since being announced six years ago, updates have been sparse and sporadic at best.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Call of Duty's TMNT crossover eventThe TMNT limited-time event runs from February 27 to March 13. Players can participate in this Ninja Turtle-themed event across multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. This crossover event works much like the Squid Game event from last season, with rewards available to earn in both a free and paid event pass. This also allows the choice of various types of ammo, including explosive and ricochet-style blades. The D1.3 Sector is available to earn in the free tiers of the TMNT event track. Skateboard melee weaponThe turtles love to skate the sewers, so players can earn the skateboard melee weapon in the free tiers of the TMNT event track. An additional variant of the skateboard is available in the paid event pass as well. TMNT melee weaponsYou can't have the turtles without their signature melee weapons. Naturally, Season 2 Reloaded adds a pair of sais, nunchucks, a bo staff, and dual katanas as new melee weapons. These weapons can be unlocked for free with armory unlocks, and a special TMNT weapon blueprint is available with each turtle's shop bundle. More multiplayer mapsSeason 2 Reloaded adds two more multiplayer maps: Grind and Bullet.Grind is the 6v6 skatepark map originally from Black Ops 2, but this map is getting a makeover to fit the TMNT crossover, with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed decor added to the map.Bullet is a new map that takes place on a moving bullet train, and this will be available in 6v6 playlists as well as 2v2 Gunfight. TMNT MoshpitThe Ninja Turtles arrive in Call of Duty with their very own limited-time game modes. For multiplayer, this is called TMNT Moshpit. The playlist is a series of Team Deathmatch, Domination, or Hardpoint matches with special abilities and TMNT-themed scorestreaks. The abilities include:Splinter: Vanish in smoke and teleport to a safe location behind enemy linesLeonardo: Gain the Tracker, Ghost, Vigilance, and Cold-Blooded Perks to navigate the map in stealthDonatello: See Operators through walls as well as Equipment, Field Upgrades, and Scorestreaks. Zombies Gets a TMNT limited-time modeCowabunga Cranked is a new Zombies LTM themed around the Ninja Turtles. This mode is available across all Zombies maps, and it works much like the Cranked mode for multiplayer.Eliminating a zombie will trigger a Cranked timer, and the player will explode if they fail to eliminate a zombie before the timer hits zero. The mode also includes TMNT-themed power-ups that can drop in the match, including:Turtle Power: Temporarily empowers the player with a health bonus and Pack-A-Punch tier 3 Legendary melee weaponsPizza Box: Fills the Cranked Timer to maxSlice-O-Pie: Partial time added to the Cranked TimerPlayers using TMNT operator skins will get added bonuses. This means players have very little time left to earn the special rewards for completing the quest early and without the Directed mode. Anyone looking to complete the story quest for the rewards can find our full guide for The Tomb main Easter egg quest here. More quality-of-life updates for WarzoneJust like the launch of Season 2, the midseason update for Warzone stays focused on quality-of-life improvements. Activision doesn't specify the updates expected, but says the developer is "prioritizing gameplay tuning by addressing quality-of-life improvements, ongoing bugs, and more." The specific details should arrive with the Season 2 Reloaded patch notes. However, players can expect a new perk in slot one called Low Profile. This perk enables players to move more quickly while crouched and prone, as well as move slightly more quickly when downed. • The Best New Features in Android 16's Second Beta Update
    lifehacker.com
We're now up to the second public beta release of Android 16, which brings new features across a variety of areas, including photography, system security, device management, and foldable form factors. The official Google blog post announcing the beta release leads with the media and camera updates. If you want more of a say over how your photos and videos end up looking, you can make use of additional manual control options covering exposure, color temperature, and tint. There's also support for Ultra HDR images if you're saving your snaps in the HEIC image format.Essentially, these are new hybrid options between fully automatic processing and fully manual processing, so those who are more comfortable playing around with settings such as white balance will be able to pick and choose the tweaks they make. It'll also mean a broader range of effects are possible without any extra edits in an app. Some other features haven't been officially announced by Google, but have been spotted by the Android community. Most of them have been reported by the team at Android Authority. They found new protections limiting what you can do on calls, for exampleso you won't be able to sideload apps or change any accessibility options while you're actually talking on the phone. Android 16 will give you more control over photo and video composition. Credit: Google The reason? Those are two of the more common tactics used by scammers to try and gain access to handsets. With these protections in place, there'll be less of an opportunity to install malware or take control of the phone remotely. The latest Android 16 beta also enables you to double-press the power button to launch the camera or Google Wallet. Previously, it would just open the camera, with no alternative option, so this gives you a bit more flexibility (and there may well be more alternatives to come).A new widget has also appeared that makes the process of switching users on an Android device more straightforward. Switching to a different Google account only takes a tap on the widget, so no diving into the Settings menu or the Quick Settings panel is needed. If you're a Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold owner, meanwhile, it looks as though Android 16 beta 2 has added a "robust open/close detection" feature that should be helpful: As reported by 9to5Google, this means that the device will be able to more accurately detect its open or closed state even with magnetic accessories attached (these accessories can sometimes interfere with the relevant sensors). Another new feature improves open/close detection on foldable devices. Credit: Lifehacker The feature doesn't seem to be fully live yet, however, which may be why Google hasn't mentioned it. Presumably after some refinement it'll become available for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and other foldable Android devices.A small tweak to the interface means the Extra Dim setting on Pixel 9 phones is now more accessible, while it looks like more information and options are coming to the Battery Health page tipped to be coming to Pixel handsets. There are also some minor edits to health and fitness permissions: Access to data such as heart rate and skin temperature will now be given on a more granular basis, which should make it easier for users to see which apps are accessing which bits of data (and which data is passing through the Health Connect protocol). As always with beta updates like this, bugs are to be expected, and any of these features might be removed or revised before the full launch of Android 16expected sometime in the second quarter of the year. If you've got a compatible Pixel device, you can try out the beta now, but this isn't recommended for a main device that you rely on.
