  • PSA: Monsters Can Rudely Crash Your BBQ In Monster Hunter Wilds
    www.gamespot.com
Monster Hunters Wilds doesn't skimp on cutscenes dedicated to food, but just because you're in one doesn't mean you're safe from a hungry monster crashing your BBQ.If there is one thing Monster Hunter Wilds loves more than monsters (and hunting them), it's eating. The latest entry in Capcom's long-running franchise relishes the chance to depict meals in all their mouth-watering glory, with lavish cutscenes that show players grilling succulent meats, pulling apart fluffy flatbreads, or combining ingredients in a pot to form delicious dishes.Note to self, the cooking cutscene in Wilds does not protect you from aggroing monsters.[image or embed] thomal9.bsky.social (@thomal9.bsky.social) March 2, 2025 at 11:00 PM Normally, cooking in town means you are in a safe area, as your character takes their time in a cutscene to pan-fry some meat or veggies for an all-important food buff that can boost stamina, health, attack, and defense. That safety, however, does not extend to using the game's portable BBQ grill item, which allows players to set up a meat-roasting spit and have a meal just about anywhere out in the game's world.Continue Reading at GameSpot

  • The Strangest Plot Twists In Anime
    gamerant.com
The following contains spoilers for various anime.Anime is hailed for the diversity of storytelling and the depth of narrative that can be achieved through the medium, with some of the most acclaimed stories reaching those heights due to the expert unraveling of very complex stories in increasingly pioneering ways. We often celebrate stories where there was simply no telling what would happen next; an aspect of the experience we have elevated immensely as proof of a "10/10" anime, but sometimes, being unable to tell what happens next comes not from the inspired ideas and brilliant writing, but from some of the most inexplicable narrative choices.

  • Where to find gillopods in Monster Hunter Wilds
    www.polygon.com
Gillopods are a special kind of endemic life in Monster Hunter Wilds. Youll need to capture one as part of a side quest, Dareels Special Research Report, for Dareel at the Windward Plains base camp late in the game (after the credits and during the High Rank section). This is the fifth side quest in Dareel and Samins ongoing feud youve already caught a tracktail lizard, dapperwing, ember rufflizard, and a rime beetle. Now, you need to find gillopods. Our Monster Hunter Wilds guide will tell you when and where to find gillopods and how to catch them.Where to find gillopods in Monster Hunter WildsGillopods are a larger version of pillopods, and those only show up at one location in the Ruins of Wyveria that weve been able to find. Head to the pop-up camp at Area 2: Crumbling Structures. Head out through the tunnel and youll be facing a carved stone wall that will most likely have several pillopods on it.Gillopods are a little larger and brighter than the average pillopod and have orange eyes.It seems like gillopods are most common during the environment event, Wyverns Wakening. Several story missions lock you out of changing the time of day by resting, but if its available, you can change the environment by resting in a tent or at your portable BBQ grill. How to catch a gillopod in Monster Hunter WildsOnce youve spotted a rime beetle, all thats left is to capture them. Equip your capture net either from the item bar or from your Essential Items radial menu. With the new rectangle reticle, approach the gillopod (they dont really acknowledge your presence, so dont worry about stealth here) until the reticle turns yellow-orange and fire it. Just make sure you hit L2/LT and not the usual Square/X.With the quest complete, youll have to wait a bit to get the next side quest in the series, Samins Special Research Report, which has you track down a sandstar. To also help you understand Monster Hunter Wilds, we explain how to capture monsters, how to change weapons, provide some Seikret tips, and teach you how fishing and layered armor works.
