    cgshares.com
Electronic ArtsWhat can be better than spending your hard-earned money on a game? If your answer is nothing, youll enjoy Electronic Arts update to Skate. The game is now in a closed alpha, but it would never stop EA from adding a shop to the game. According to a message sent to players, seen by Insider Gaming, there are now microtransactions in the world of skating. You can use the in-game currency, called San Van Bucks, to buy cosmetics to make your adventures more personalized. According to the developer Full Circle, this was done to make sure players have a positive experience when purchasing items from the skate store. To ensure we achieve these goals at Early Access we have enabled the option to purchase and use virtual currency (San Van Bucks) in our ongoing Closed Alpha playtest, the message says. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated in providing a great experience at Early Access launch. As usual with playtests, account progress might be reset during the alpha and will be fully restarted before launch. The money you spend will be returned when the game gets released. The word microtransactions always leaves a sour taste in players mouths, but EAs Skate, set to launch this year, will be free, so an in-game shop is an expected occurrence.Want to see microtransactions ramped up to the maximum? • Microsoft Wants Copilot To Help Xbox Players Beat Games In Real Time
    www.gamespot.com
Earlier this year, Microsoft ramped up its efforts to make Edge the browser of choice for gamers by giving it a Steam-like overlay that can allow players to easily access tips and tactics. Now, Microsoft wants to take things even further with Copilot for Gaming, a new in-game AI assistant that is still in development. And it's coming soon to the Xbox mobile app.Xbox's vice president of gaming AI, Fatima Kardar, unveiled Copilot for Gaming in the latest episode of The Official Xbox Podcast. Microsoft's stated goal is to give players a hand getting past some of the more difficult parts in games and coaching them when needed. Kardar also showed off how this could work in Overwatch 2 and Minecraft. However, Microsoft has clarified that these samples are "product concepts," rather than an example of a fully realized AI project. In Overwatch 2, Copilot told the player how they died, and how they can counter that tactic by choosing another character and resetting their strategy. For Minecraft, Copilot walked the player through some of the basics of crafting to get them started in the game. According to Kardar, the idea behind this is that Copilot shouldn't be omnipresent in the games. Instead, it should simply be there when players need it.Continue Reading at GameSpot
