Does Xenoblade Chronicles 2 story get better the further you play?
hlhbk Member Oct 25, 2017 3,607 I am and hour into the game. Does it get more interesting as you progress story wise? It sure hadn't gripped me like the first game did. Granted the opening of the first game is iconic.   Transistor This isn't going to go the way you think Administrator Oct 25, 2017 41,378 Washington, D.C. My eyes eventually slid off the screen the moment any cutscene began.   Dest Has seen more 10s than EA ever will Coward Jun 4, 2018 15,931 Work well shit now i'm just never going to know  Sir Sonic Member Jan 14, 2020 954 YES I mean the moment I switched to jp voice, all the cringe left the game and what remained was insanely memorable  tjh282 Member May 29, 2019 1,061 Usual suspects in here popping off, but yeah it definitely gets more interesting. That's gameplay and story wise   PumpkinPieAddict Member Oct 28, 2017 4,795 In my opinion, absolutely not. I say this as someone who is currently 120 hours in and played it 6 minutes ago lol. They underutilise characters, overuse others, lose itself within the plot. I feel like this had different writers during different parts and it was never cohesive. The first few hours are good the rest is just incoherent and disjointed. Perhaps a second playthrough is way better. But as a story based gamer, the fact I dread cutscenes is a terrible sign. I've started skipping cutscenes for side quests and even heart to hearts, the game just lost me around the 50% mark and never got me back. Gameplay is fun but has various issues (so many systems and lacking QOL).  Homura ▲ Legend ▲ Member Aug 20, 2019 6,868 It literally does. Xenoblade 2 is the epitome of the "it gets good 30 hours in" trope.  Brando "This guy are sick" Member Oct 25, 2017 1,598 Nope. The only good part of XB2 is the Torna expansion.   Grain Silo Member Dec 15, 2017 3,184 Most definitely. Chapter 4 is a bit of a drag but it gets a lot better afterward.   PlanetSmasher The Abominable Showman Member Oct 25, 2017 131,820 No. It's a fever dream front to back, and Jin and Malos aren't enough to save it.   Transistor This isn't going to go the way you think Administrator Oct 25, 2017 41,378 Washington, D.C. hlhbk have you gotten to the part where an underage sex doll is built by a potato man's uncle?   criteriondog I like the chili style Member Oct 26, 2017 13,232 Absolutely. The story has some of my favorite highs in the genre. Ignore the first reply. Swear they post more about how much they dislike the game than the most hardcore fans who love the game post about it.   Lihwem Member Mar 17, 2020 851 An hour in??? You've barely scratched the surface of the prologue haha   falcondoc Member Oct 29, 2017 7,933 100% YES. Don't listen to anyone saying no. They're just wrong. It may not be to everyone's taste. But the story objectively ramps up and gets much better the game progresses all the way until the end.   OP OP hlhbk Member Oct 25, 2017 3,607 PumpkinPieAddict said: In my opinion, absolutely not.
