  • The MORPHEUS Supercar Concept Could Make Batman Rethink His Ride

The Carbon MORPHEUS is so sleek and streamlined its wind-tunnel test is probably just a bunch of parallel lines. Designed by EPTA, this mid-engine two-seater supercar skips nostalgia and dives straight into aggressive futurism. It looks engineered by a design studio that sees speed not as a metric, but as a shape.
The design brief? “Design is the language of dreams.” Which sounds poetic until you realize what they’ve dreamt up could moonlight as a Batmobile in a Nolan film – just sharper, lower, and probably too dangerous for even Bruce Wayne. A manifesto of Italian elegance, they call it. But it leans more toward brutalist cyberpunk with a splash of Lamborghini’s wild DNA and a whisper of Bertone-era silhouette language. That tapered greenhouse? Pure retro-futurism, the kind that could only come from a country that worships both speed and sculpture in equal measure.
    Designer: EPTA Design

The bodywork is entirely carbon fiber, and not just as a flex. The weave is visible from every angle, wrapping around exaggerated wheel arches and angry origami-like creases. It’s not just aesthetics either – it’s structure, soul, and statement. The reflections rolling off the surface are almost liquid, a high-gloss hallucination of light and intent. Look closely and you’ll see the word “VEPTA” near the front wheels, perhaps a clue or a red herring in EPTA Design’s growing mythos.

Around the back, things get wild. Four vertical exhausts erupt from a tail section that looks like a spaceship’s afterburner array. There’s no wing, but the rear deck itself swoops like it’s ready to generate lift – or downforce, depending on how many laws of physics it’s trying to bend. A golden center-lock nut anchors the gloss-black wheels, which are wide, multi-spoked, and performance-obsessed. Brake calipers peek out in red, adding a splash of aggression to an otherwise stealth-fighter palette.

From above, the canopy has a near-seamless wrap of glass and carbon. It’s tight. Tense. Like a jet cockpit shrunken down and perched just ahead of a carbon fiber storm. The symmetry here is clinical, the panel gaps razor-thin. It doesn’t just look fast; it looks like it was born in a vacuum chamber under military surveillance.

EPTA says this is a “mid-engine two-seater supercar,” which automatically tells you what kind of proportions and intent they’re working with. But beyond the silhouette and stance, this thing is abstract sculpture on wheels. It’s less about raw specs and more about shaping emotion through velocity.

And yet, it’s not lost in concept art fantasy. The presence is real, the panels are real, the reflections tell you this isn’t just a digital mockup. There’s heat coming out of those pipes in one of the rear shots. That’s combustion. That’s ambition made tactile. You don’t commit this hard to an idea unless you’re serious about chasing it into reality. The post The MORPHEUS Supercar Concept Could Make Batman Rethink His Ride first appeared on Yanko Design.

  • Huawei’s Foldable Laptop Is A Game-Changer And We Tried It Out: Hands-On at BEYOND Expo 2025

I didn’t expect to find the Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design foldable laptop on the floor at BEYOND Expo, and it wasn’t officially displayed at Huawei’s booth. But I did see a nervous intern walking around with a strange-looking laptop behind the scenes. I walked up to ask her if it was Huawei’s new ‘foldable laptop’ and lo and behold, I got a hands-on experience of a device hardly anybody’s seen before… and spoilers, it’s gorgeous.
The MateBook Fold Ultimate Design is the kind of stuff you expect from companies like Apple and Google, but it really does seem like Huawei’s been pushing the envelope farther than any ‘Western’ brands. They mastered 5G before anyone, developed their own app ecosystem after being booted off Android, brought the Mate XT tri-fold device to market long before Samsung, and now managed to design, launch, and even display a foldable laptop long before anyone else could even get their R&D together.
    Designer: Huawei

The MateBook Fold Ultimate Designis a bona fide luxury device. It costs a mind-bending USD and is only available in China for now. That’s because it’s running Huawei’s HarmonyOS, which works best within the mainland. However, physically, the laptop looks GORGEOUS. At 14.9mm, it’s slightly thicker than the 128mm-thick tri-fold phone when shut, but open it up and you’re either faced with a 13″ laptop with a touchscreen keyboard, or an 18″ touchscreen monitor when opened fully.

The third panel? Well, that’s just the MateBook Fold’s snap-on keyboard, which works wirelessly with the device, allowing you to use it either independently or even placed on top of the MateBook, replacing the touchscreen keyboard with a tactile one. News flash, everything works absolutely seamlessly – you don’t need to pair or unpair keyboards, the screen transitions like magic between multiple formats, and the device, even though it released just 3 days ago, doesn’t have any rough edges that I can see. It’s all polished to the point of being a product you could throw 3.3 grand at today itself.

So, here’s really what you get with the MateBook Fold. The three-part deviceis as light as it gets – 2.5 lbofficially, which is still lighter than a 13″ MacBook Pro. The keyboard sticks confidently via magnets, only snapping out when you remove it with intent. Even the hinge on the MateBook Fold – reliable, without a doubt. I needed two hands to pry the thing open, and once you disengage the device, the hinge loosens so that the lid lifts up comfortably.

The MateBook Fold’s design enables hybrid-laptop-style usage, but with a key difference being the foldable display itsel. You can use it in the following formats – open it up and type on the lower touchscreen like a regular laptop. My favorite part is the fact that when you activate the on-screen keyboard, the Huawei branding actually shows up near the hinge, displaying the company logo where you’d expect it to be on most traditional laptops. You might think of it as an easter egg, but I see it more as incredible attention to detail.

The other way to type is to simply snap out the actual physical keyboard and use it to type. However, if that 13″ screen isn’t enough for you, the MateBook Fold opens up to become a flat 18″ 3.3K display with a more tablet-ish 4:3 resolution. Hold and use the device like you would an 18″ tablet, place it flat on a tabletop, or prop it upwards, thanks to the built-in kickstand that otherwise sits flush against the back. There’s not a single bump anywhere on the device – the absence of a primary camera rids the MateBook Fold of its camera bump, so you’re left with a device that’s as gorgeously sleek as a laptop.

The OS, for now, is Huawei’s HarmonyOS, running a tablet-PC hybrid layout. You have apps on the desktop, like TikTok, Xiaohongshu, WPS Office, among other local apps. Huawei’s even built a Copilot clone that runs on the device thanks to a dedicated AI key. The company’s worked with Deepseek AI to integrate its chatbot into the MateBook Fold, giving you what I can only describe as an experience that’s absolutely tailormade to and with China-based innovation. For a company scorned by the US and several other countries, this is nothing short of remarkable. I don’t say it to artificially glorify the company or the circumstances it finds itself in, but hey, it’s been half a year since the tri-fold and not one company.

The rest of the info on the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design can obviously be found in any press release. The device packs 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage – overkill by tablet or laptop standards. A fingerprint reader comes built into the power button, and yes, even though there isn’t a primary camera, the bezel hides a webcam that can be used the way you would on a laptop.

It’s difficult to really say who this foldable laptop is for. It oozes so much style that I find myself only being able to recommend it to people who like flexing expensive gear, like a Rolex or a Lamborghini. At USD, it’s definitely in that territory. For people who splurged on the tri-fold Mate XT, this might just be the best laptop to complement it. After all, integration should be absolutely seamless, given that they both run the same OS too.The post Huawei’s Foldable Laptop Is A Game-Changer And We Tried It Out: Hands-On at BEYOND Expo 2025 first appeared on Yanko Design.

The three-part device (a two-part foldable and one snap-on keyboard) is as light as it gets – 2.5 lb (1.16 kg) officially, which is still lighter than a 13″ MacBook Pro. You can use it in the following formats – open it up and type on the lower touchscreen like a regular laptop (you can change the keyboard design, layout, color, it’s wild). My favorite part is the fact that when you activate the on-screen keyboard, the Huawei branding actually shows up near the hinge, displaying the company logo where you’d expect it to be on most traditional laptops. You might think of it as an easter egg, but I see it more as incredible attention to detail. The other way to type is to simply snap out the actual physical keyboard and use it to type (either on top of the laptop or kept on the side). You have apps on the desktop, like TikTok, Xiaohongshu (or Red Note), WPS Office, among other local apps. At $3,300 USD, it’s definitely in that territory.

  • What the “Trump effect” teaches us about crypto hype

The last six months have been a strange, exhilarating time for crypto. First, there was the so-called “Trump effect”—a surge in crypto prices and on-chain activity triggered by the then president-elect’s vocal support of crypto. Then came the viral “Hawk Tuah” meme, which somehow alchemized into a crypto memecoin that rocketed in value, pulled headlines, and emptied wallets in equal measure.

For many first-time crypto users, these moments were their gateway into the blockchain. Wallets were downloaded. Tokens were swapped. Twitterfeeds were flooded with strange new lingo: HODL, degen, DYOR. It was a wild ride. For most newcomers, the experience probably felt like trying to join a conversation in a foreign language while riding a rollercoaster.

As the leader of a nonprofit dedicated to educating everyday Americans about crypto, I welcome this influx of interest. Crypto, at its best, can democratize financial access, create transparency, and offer new tools for digital empowerment. But hype cycles also bring risk: not just of financial loss, but of alienation and misunderstanding. It’s time we decouple the signal from the noise.

Crypto isn’t just for bros—and it never was

Let’s start by busting one of crypto’s most persistent stereotypes: that it’s just for young, wealthy finance bros chasing dreams of Lamborghini sports carsand going “to the moon.” Sure, that subculture exists—just like it does in day trading and sports betting. But crypto’s roots are far more diverse.

Earlier this year, we conducted one of the largest-ever studies of crypto holders in America. We found that almost one thirdare women, and more are over the age of 55than under 25. Nearly as many crypto users work in constructionas do in technology—far more than those working in finance—and many do not belong to higher income brackets, with roughly a quarterof crypto-owning households earning less than /year.

The stereotype is outdated and, frankly, dangerous. It discourages thoughtful newcomers from participating and lets bad actors hide behind a smokescreen of memes and cartoonish masculinity. The future of crypto will be shaped by everyday Americans, not caricatures.

Decode the lingo, stay for the mission

Don’t let the lingo intimidate you. You don’t need to speak “crypto” fluently to participate—just like you don’t need to know what “https” means to send an email. But to new users feeling overwhelmed by the language of crypto, here’s a quick translation guide to get started:

HODL: Originally a typo for “hold,” it means holding on to your crypto for dear life and resisting the urge to sell in volatile markets. It’s become a philosophy for long-term belief in a project’s value.

Degen: Short for “degenerate,” it describes high-risk traders chasing fast gains in often unvetted projects. It’s part joke, part warning.

Memecoin: A token built around a joke or cultural moment like Dogecoin or the recent Hawk Tuah coin. Some are created in jest, others are tapping into legitimate community-driven goals. Think of these as digital collectibles, like Pokemon cards.

    Tips for crypto newbies

Start small, stay curious: The best way to learn is by doing. Treat your first crypto transaction like your first gym session—you’re here to learn the ropes, not break a record.

Use reputable platforms: Avoid buying coins just because they’re trending on TikTok. Stick to exchanges and wallets with strong reputations, transparent policies, and educational resources.

Do your own research: Known as “DYOR” in the crypto world, do your own research and lean on trusted sources. Unfortunately like any industry, there is risk of scams or fraud with crypto. Rule of thumb: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

    Beyond the buzz

Crypto’s potential isn’t defined by celebrity endorsements or trending memes. It lies in what happens beyond the hype: freedom to exchange value directly, without back-office delays or middlemen taking control. Transparent governance and extra layers of privacy. True ownership and accessibility of your digital identity and assets.

Regardless of what piqued your interest in crypto or when, welcome. You’re right on time. The memes may fade, but crypto’s promise is here to stay.

  • Rezvani Knight Turns a Lamborghini Urus Into a Street-Legal Tank With Thermal Cameras and an EMP

Nobody asked for an armored Lamborghini Urus. Then again, nobody asked for a tactical fanny pack either, but here we are. Rezvani – the Californian outfit best known for giving civilian vehicles the paranoia of a Cold War bunker – looked at the Urus and said: needs more trauma. The result is the Knight, a street-legal military SUV with the fashion sense of a Bond villain and the restraint of a Michael Bay explosion reel.
The original Urus is already borderline excessive. Twin-turbo V8, 657 horsepower, and a design that looks like it was sketched during a Red Bull binge. It oozes aggression in that expensive European way, like a luxury watch that could punch you. But Rezvani doesn’t do theatrical threat. It does real-world menace. So they gutted the Urus’s sleek confidence and wrapped it in a jagged, carbon-fiber skin that radiates bad intentions. You don’t just drive the Knight. You deploy it.
    Designer: Rezvani

The body is an origami of malice. Sharp lines, sci-fi taillights, a front fascia that looks like it’s been squinting into a war zone for too long. It trades Lamborghini’s sculpted excess for something closer to dystopian utilitarianism. And the kicker? That armor isn’t just for show. We’re talking bulletproof panels, ballistic glass, steel bumpers, and optional underbody explosive protection. Which begs the question: where exactly are you going?

That’s only the beginning. There’s a thermal camera. An EMP shield. Sirens, strobe lights, gas masks, magnetic deadbolts, and because Rezvani leans into the absurd, electrified door handles. Touch them uninvited and you’ll get a shock strong enough to make a Tesla cry. All for extra charge, obviously. And probably the cost of having the authorities do a thorough background check.
Power hasn’t been neglected either. Rezvani bumps the Urus’s output to 789 horsepower, because hauling all that angst requires serious muscle. And if you opt for the valved exhaust, it’ll scream with the kind of rage usually reserved for exorcisms or failed Wi-Fi connections. The drivetrain remains intact – permanent AWD, brutal acceleration – but wrapped in something that feels part Mad Max, part DARPA prototype.

And yet, in all its lunacy, there’s an odd design integrity here. The 22-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch off-road tires feel deliberate. So do the flat body planes, not just for armor compatibility, but because they visually ground the Knight in a way no Urus ever could. It’s imposing, yes, but also deeply coherent in its purpose: don’t approach. Don’t follow. And definitely don’t assume it’s friendly.

Rezvani asks for to turn your Urus into this street-legal siege weapon. That doesn’t include the Urus itself. Nor does it cover the Dark Knight Package, which adds enough military tech to raise flags at customs. But this isn’t a vehicle you spec with logic. After all, Bruce Wayne didn’t design his Batmobile logically either. The package features run-flat military tires, a smoke screen system, thermal imaging, EMP shielding, magnetic deadbolts, and even a pepper spray dispenser – because what’s a luxury SUV without chemical warfare? The result is less car, more mobile fortress. If Skynet built a family vehicle, this would be it.

The Knight is absurd. But it’s a very intentional kind of absurd. Sure, it’s impractical. Yes, it’s over-the-top. But it’s also one of the few vehicles in recent memory that commits, unapologetically, to being exactly what it is: a rolling fortress with a Lamborghini soul and a bunker’s worth of attitude.
