The project, a sub-project of the "IARA Rural Revitalization Fengwu Ji," is located in Fengwu Village, Yixian County, Huangshan City. The site is situated in the heart of Fengwu Village, originally occupied by an old house. Over time, it later became a small square, but due to its incompatibility with the local climate, its use remained low. The design aims to convert this underutilized space into a vibrant public venue. The project is located in Fengwu Village, Biyang Town, Yixian County, Huangshan City, and is a sub-project of the " IARA Rural Revitalization Fengwu Ji." The site is in the heart of Fengwu Village, originally home to an old residence that, over time, was replaced by a small village square. However, due to its incompatibility with the local climate, the square was rarely used. The design aims to transform this underutilized space into a vibrant public area.Save this picture!Save this picture!Out of respect for history, the new structure is built upon the imprint of the old residence, employing a spatial weaving approach to reconstruct and integrate into the rural fabric using local materials and contemporary architectural language. Beyond being a museum, it serves as the village's spiritual core and a daily gathering place. In a way, this building represents the construction of a contemporary rural "ancestral hall." The museum is elevated to the second floor, while the ground level remains open, forming a semi-outdoor public space that provides shelter from wind and rain.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture!The architecture, along with the surrounding village houses, encloses a courtyard, continuing the traditional Hui-style "skywell" layout. Traditional local materials such as grey tiles, white walls, and wooden structures are used but with modern refinements. The white walls are made using local river sand mixed with cement and lime in a specific ratio, then hand-washed to create a weathered texture that evokes the passage of time. The wooden panels are surface-charred, forming a carbonized layer that enhances fire resistance and durability while also imbuing them with an aged appearance.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture!The second-floor "Rural Memory Hall" features hidden skylights, creating a tranquil and introspective atmosphere. The exhibition, themed the "Poetry of Life," weaves together villagers' old objects with personal stories and emotions, unfolding in three chapters: "Birth," "Growth," and "Inheritance." It narrates the journey of ordinary people from childhood to family life and eventually to the end of life, reconstructing the village's history and evoking local memories and emotions. This fosters a sense of rural identity and serves as an interpretation and translation of individual memories into collective village culture.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture!The "Rural Memory Museum" is not a tribute to grand historical narratives, nor is it a static display of artifacts; rather, it focuses on ordinary individuals and embodies deep humanistic care. At the same time, it serves as a place for villagers to gather for daily leisure, weddings, funerals, and festive celebrations. Even before the construction was completed, local residents had spontaneously held several village feasts here, which was exactly what the team had hoped to see. Therefore, after the museum was completed, villagers were also invited to participate, with a village banquet serving as the opening ceremony. Communications Workers of America announced on March 25 that user-research workers at Activision have voted to form a union that Microsoft is already willing to recognize.Officially called Activision User Research Union-CWA, this is the first video-game-researcher union of its kind in the North American video game industry. A press release about the union's formation explains that it wants to fight for better wages and job security for those working in user research at the Call of Duty maker.The massive number of layoffs the video game industry has seen over the past couple of years was also cited as a reason for the union's formation. Fighting games are no stranger to guest characters, particularly those who enter a battle from outside the confines of other fighting games. SNK has announced that Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves will follow suit, as international soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has been confirmed for the game's playable roster.A collaboration between Fatal Fury and the Portuguese footballer was teased last year, but outside of a brief video, no other news came from it. Now, a second trailer has confirmed Ronaldo will join Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, and more on the City Of the Wolves roster, with gameplay showing off his moveset to boot.As some might expect, Ronaldo is a kick-heavy fighter with multiple sweeps, tackles, and even a stylish flip kick. He's also able to conjure energy balls from thin air, then control them with his feet before launching them at the opponent. Pick a side, as its time to fan the flames of the Naruto fandom! One of the OG "Big 3" manga, Naruto set the benchmark for the typical shonen protagonist. Kishimotos less-than-desirable handling of most of the large cast in his definitive manga is a touchy subject. Awesome side characters were hardly featured, while the majority of the focus shifted to Narutos rival, Sasuke.

April brings the highly anticipated return of some of Netflix's most popular series, including Season 7 of Black Mirror (April 10) and Season 5 of You (April 24). The formerCharlie Brooker's dystopian sci-fi anthology seriesis getting six new episodes, including a sequel to "USS Callister" from season 4. Considering the average spend on groceriesis over $500 every month, I'm all open to suggestions. Extreme couponing? Tell me more. Intermittent fasting? Sounds doable. Ugly produce? Bring it on!Spending money to save money? How does that work?Kitchen tools like bread makers or chest freezers tend to pay for themselves over time, but often come with a hefty upfront cost. Yet there are some inexpensive gadgets that dont require a big investment but which can trim your grocery bills significantly. Here are eight of them.Bottle connectorsTheres nothing more frustrating than paying for a bottle of something and leaving a bunch of it in the bottle because physics refuses to release it. But if you throw away bottles of stuffwhether its condiments, shampoo, or anything else you pick up at the grocery storewith product still trapped in there, youre throwing away money. Instead, pick up a bottle connector (which will let you transfer the dregs of an old bottle to a new one), a zero-waste cap (which will use gravity to help you use every drop of something in the bottle), or a bottle scraper of some kind to get every bit out of the bottle. Its difficult to quantify how much money you can save by doing all these things, but its not nothing.A food vacuum sealerA food vacuum sealer isnt the cheapest option; while you can find sealers for about $10, that could definitely be a penny-wise, pound-foolish kind of decision. But an initial investment of anywhere from $40 to $100 will save you money in several ways:Reduce waste. Vacuum-sealing your leftovers and overflow ingredients will keep them fresher far longer.Make bulk buying pay. Buying in bulk usually reduces your per-unit costsbut only if you can actually use what you buy. Vacuum-sealing makes it easier to buy something like meat or fish in bulk and keep it fresh long enough to actually eat. Additionally, if you happen upon a terrific sale on something perishable, you can make an unusually large purchase work economically by sealing and freezing most of it.Herb keepersIf you cook with a lot of fresh herbs, a herb keeper can help keep them fresh for more than a week longer than if you just stick them in the crisper (or in a plastic bag, where all herbs go to wilt). That means you can actually use them in multiple meals and buy less of them overall.Produce saversBuying fresh produce is often an exercise in expensive frustration. You pay for a bunch of apples, and some of them are already rotting seemingly before you even get them home from the store, and the rest dont fare well no matter where you store them. You might be one of those folks who thrills at turning black bananas into banana bread and soft apples into pies, but it would be better if everything just lasted longer. Thats where products like GreenBags and the BlueApple Produce Saver come in. Both extend the life of fresh produce by days, giving you extra time to use up what you buy and improving the taste and overall experience of the produce youre eating. Over time theyll pay for themselves in fresher fruits and veg, and lower grocery bills.A cheese graterYou might not think of a cheese grater as a gadget, but tell that to the people who lived before its invention. Buying your cheese pre-grated will definitely save you money (and give you a better cheese experience, as pre-grated cheese usually is coated with a bunch of stabilizers and preservatives in it to keep it from clumping). Block cheese will almost always be cheaper than pre-grated cheese, so aside from the better eating and cooking experience, grating your own cheese will pay for the grater over time, and then some.Silicone stretch lidsIf you use foil or plastic wrap on a regular basis to cover bowls, old plastic storage tubs that have lost their lids, or pots straight off the stove (smash cut to your eating directly from the saucepan with a spoon later that night), youre paying money every time you tear off a sheet. Instead, use these stretchy silicone lids. Theyll fit just about any bowl or tub youve got and will keep their contents nice and fresh, with an airtight seal thats almost certainly better than that mangled lump of aluminum foil you were going to use. One note: You shouldnt use these to leave extra canned goods in the can. Yes, the lid will cover and seal the can effectively, but once opened, your food will start reacting to the metal of the can, which can degrade the flavor and kickstart bacteria growth.Reusable paper towelsIf youre using a lot of disposable stuff from the grocery store, a great way to save money is to switch to reusable, washable versions. Makeup removal pads and paper towels (which can also be used as casual napkins) are two easy switches. Rayon paper towels made from bamboo are sustainable and can be used about 50 times. In the meantime, not buying a new supply every week or so will definitely save you some cashhave you seen what Target wants for a thing of paper towels these days?Dryer ballsIf you use dryer sheets when you do laundry, you can probably reduce your shopping bills by switching to wool dryer balls. Dryer sheets range in price from about four cents per sheet on the low end to about ten cents a sheet (mainly for specialty sheets, like the ones intended for homes with a lot of pet fur). Wool dryer balls help reduce drying time, wrinkles, and static cling and are reusable (up to about 1,000 times). So a six-pack of dryer balls will get you at least 6,000 loads of laundry for about $10, as opposed to $240 for dryer sheets. Even if you wash large loads and use 2-3 balls per load, youll still seeing significant savings over dryer sheets.
