After its beta phase, OTOY officially launched the stable release of OctaneRender 2025.1, introducing several new features, some of which have already been previewed. The main update is the addition of support for rest attributes on meshes with animated vertices, which prevent texture shifting or distortion on an animated mesh that doesnt have UV mapping.Another key highlight is the new Vectron displacement node, which allows you to displace a Vectron or Volume SDF using an input texture. It operates in real-time, at any scale, and is fully compatible with complex SDF trees or Mesh Volume SDF. This feature enables virtually endless detail by layering noises on top of each other, providing great results at minimal cost.OTOYOctaneRender 2025.1 also brings native decal support, enabling you to project textures onto surfaces and add visual details like dirt, damage, or patterns without modifying the underlying geometry.Additionally, this version introduces a realistic lens camera that simulates the effects of real glass camera lenses. These effects include bokeh, optical vignetting, lens imperfections (such as soft focus, soft edges, and barrel distortion), and chromatic aberration.OTOYAn experimental feature currently available only on Windows, the new Octane server node lets you submit scenes to an Octane server and receive the rendered results over the network. The server can be another standalone app instance or a separate Octane Server app. This release also includes updates to existing features, such as improvements to the Chaos Texture node, which now scatters textures randomly across a surface, enhanced performance for Mac users with M3 and M4 chips, and more.Check out the release notes here and join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post OctaneRender 2025.1 Is Now Available appeared first on CG SHARES.
