The City of New York and Queens Public Library have reached a settlement in a federal case surrounding accessibility issues at the Hunters Point Library. The city sued the library, as well as designers Steven Holl Architects, over claims that the library failed to comply with the American Disabilities Act.The design and construction of the Hunters Point Library Branch of the Queens Borough Public Library blatantly violated the ADAs requirement that individuals with disabilities have equal access to public accommodations, US Attorney Breon Peace said when the settlement was reached in January.
