Top 5 Ways to Naturally Boost Your Mood to Reduce Stress & Increase Dopamine
Stress and fatigue can impact mental health and sleep quality, often due to low dopamine levels. Known as the “happiness hormone,” dopamine is key for mood, motivation, reducing stress, and brain health. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that regulates motivation, mood, focus, and movement, creating feelings of pleasure and reward. It also supports sleep quality, heart health, kidney function, and emotional balance. Low dopamine levels are linked to conditions like depression, ADHD, and Parkinson’s disease, making it crucial to maintain a healthy balance through proper nutrition and lifestyle choices. A recent World Mental Health Day report reveals that globally, 62% of people across 31 countries report stress affecting their daily lives at least once, with stress levels ranging from 76% in Türkiye to 44% in Japan. The ongoing challenges after the global pandemic have only heightened these stress levels. Simple lifestyle changes like proper nutrition, exercise, and quality sleep can naturally boost dopamine and improve well-being. 1. Regular Exercise Regular exercise is essential for maintaining both mental and physical well-being. By causing the release of dopamine, the “happy hormone,” it aids in the management of anxiety, stress, and depression. As a result, exercise becomes linked to rewards and pleasure, which promotes sustained engagement. You are more motivated to continue exercising when your dopamine levels rise. This cycle improves mental and physical health over time by fortifying the brain’s reward system. Frequent exercise fosters lasting habits that benefit both the body and mind, in addition to enhancing mood and dopamine levels. Compact and easy to use, the AEKE K1 fits into small spaces and blends seamlessly into your home decor. 2. Sufficient Sleep and Nutrition Dopamine encourages alertness and aids in the regulation of the sleep-wake cycle and lack of sleep can disrupt this cycle. To naturally raise dopamine, make getting enough sleep a priority, eat a balanced diet, and spend time in the sun a priority. You can manage your sleep cycle and dopamine levels by practicing good sleep hygiene, which includes keeping a regular sleep schedule, creating a relaxing bedtime ritual, and making sure your sleeping environment is comfortable. Foods rich in tyrosine, like bananas, avocados, seeds, and dairy products, can help boost dopamine production. Tyrosine is an amino acid, a key building block of proteins, essential for producing important neurotransmitters in the brain, including dopamine. Poor sleep habits and ineffective solutions like pills can lead to dependency and disrupt the brain’s dopamine regulation, which plays a key role in mood, motivation, and overall well-being. The Wethm Sleep Enhancer offers a natural alternative, using gentle vibrations to promote deeper sleep and a gradual, refreshing wake-up. This device mimics the calming vibrations of a train ride, slowing the heart rate through cardiovascular synchronization, signaling the body to relax. It also gently wakes you up with a soft buzzing, ensuring you feel refreshed. Wethm is simple to use, one has to place the flexible pad on the mattress at chest level, set the controller nearby, and connect to the Wethm app. It offers AI-powered tracking to monitor one’s sleep and provide personalized insights for improvement. 3. Relaxing Activities Calming practices like yoga, meditation, and spending time in nature can be very beneficial for promoting relaxation and naturally increasing dopamine. Yoga can raise dopamine levels while encouraging relaxation, especially when it involves mindfulness and deep breathing. Mindfulness meditation is one of the meditation techniques that help calm the mind and increase dopamine production. Deep breathing exercises promote relaxation and dopamine release by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Spending time in natural environments, such as a garden, can also lower stress and anxiety by increasing dopamine levels. These benefits are further enhanced by outdoor yoga or meditation. For those seeking a moment of escape from stress, the “Goyo” chair offers a simple yet effective solution. Inspired by traditional Tibetan singing bowls used in meditation, this unique chair creates a tranquil space amidst busy days. With its rounded steel design, the chair wraps around you, promoting relaxation and helping to balance dopamine levels for a more positive mood. The smooth maple wood seat and stand are both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, while the contoured backrest ensures a relaxing seating experience. The chair’s bowl-like shape helps block out distractions, allowing you to focus on meditation or relaxation. You can even strike the bowl to produce soft, soothing sounds, adding to the calming effect. Designed to be both functional and artistic, the Goyo chair is perfect for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat at home or in the office, offering a sanctuary in the midst of hectic routines. 4. Creative Pursuits Dopamine is released when creative activities activate the brain’s reward system, resulting in motivation and feelings of pleasure. Painting, writing, or journaling are examples of activities that increase dopamine production and these pursuits can induce a “flow state,” in which intense concentration amplifies dopamine release even more. Note that dopamine is increased when a creative project is finished successfully or when we move closer to a goal, which encourages us to keep going. Also, as the brain searches for new experiences, experimenting with new concepts and methods in creative work releases dopamine. Additionally, dopamine is crucial for cognitive flexibility, which is necessary for creativity. Wood is often associated with the color brown, but trees offer a variety of hues, especially when sourced from different species. In Japan, where two-thirds of the land is covered in forests, many trees remain untapped, presenting an opportunity for sustainable products. Forest Crayons is a project that uses pigments extracted from recycled forest trees, blending them with eco-friendly ingredients to create unique crayons. Each crayon’s color reflects the species and growing conditions of the tree, such as light green from magnolia and deep turquoise from fungus-stained wood. The crayons are made with wood, rice wax, and rice oil, and include ten shades like Bayberry, Cedar, Magnolia, and Zelkova. Supported by the Japanese Forest Agency, the project not only creates eco-friendly crayons but also aims to foster a deeper appreciation for Japan’s forests, offering a natural way to engage with the environment. Using these crayons may even enhance your creative flow by stimulating dopamine, making the experience enjoyable and fulfilling. 5. Music and Enjoyable Sounds Dopamine levels are raised when you listen to music you like, which improves motivation, happiness, and overall well-being. According to research, music, particularly songs that arouse intensely positive feelings, causes the striatum, a crucial region of the brain associated with motivation and reward, to release dopamine. Moments of intense emotional connection, like when a song strikes a chord with you or evokes strong memories, are when this release is most noticeable. The limbic system, which is involved in emotions and memory, is also activated by music. According to studies, listening to your favorite music elevates dopamine levels in the brain, which enhances mood and promotes mental wellness in general. The vinyl revival a few years ago brought back interest in classic formats, and new designs continue to capture the nostalgic appeal of vinyl records. While many try to recreate vinyl’s unique flaws, not everyone enjoys the full traditional experience. The RE; Retro Player modernizes this concept, offering the same sound and look of vinyl without the hassle. It features a CD-shaped plate that plays music via Bluetooth or internal storage. The plate also displays album art, and a touch screen lets you control the system. Although it doesn’t perfectly mimic vinyl’s sound, it provides a more convenient, damage-free way to enjoy the experience. Incorporating these simple, dopamine-boosting practices into your daily routine can significantly enhance your mood, energy, and overall well-being. By prioritizing regular exercise, sufficient sleep, relaxing activities, creative outlets, and music, you can naturally combat stress and create a healthier, more balanced life. The post Top 5 Ways to Naturally Boost Your Mood to Reduce Stress & Increase Dopamine first appeared on Yanko Design.

This Tiny House Offers Enhanced Living For Two & Affordable Luxury On Wheels
In January, Dragon Tiny Homes made a mark in the tiny house market by introducing the Aria, a compact and affordable towable home designed for convenience and mobility. The original Aria quickly gained attention for its smart use of space and budget-friendly appeal. Building on the strengths of its predecessor, Dragon Tiny Homes has now launched the Aria 24, an upgraded model that offers even more comfort and functionality. The Aria 24’s best improvement is its increased length, measuring 24 feet (7.3 meters), compared to the original model’s 20 feet (6 meters). Although the difference is only four feet, this extra space boosts the interior living area, creating a much more comfortable and versatile environment, especially for two people. The Aria 24 sits on a sturdy double-axle trailer, making it easy to tow and relocate as needed. Its exterior is clad in durable engineered wood, mirroring the original Aria’s look while ensuring long-lasting protection against the elements. Inside, the home features tasteful shiplap paneling, lending a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Designer: Dragon Tiny Homes The tiny home can be accessed through a glass door that leads directly into the kitchen, where you’ll find a compact but functional space designed for convenience. The kitchen features a small breakfast bar suitable for two people, a two-burner induction stove, a modern sink, a fridge/freezer, and ample cabinetry for storage. There is also additional space available, offering the option to install more appliances if desired, making the kitchen both practical and adaptable. Adjacent to the kitchen is the living room, which is more spacious than that of the original Aria model. This area comfortably accommodates a sofa and a small coffee table, creating a cozy spot for relaxation or entertaining guests. The living room benefits from generous glazing, which allows plenty of natural light to flood the space, giving it an open and airy feel. The thoughtful layout and well-lit interior make the Aria 24 welcoming and comfortable. The bathroom in the Aria 24 is located on the opposite end of the home from the living room, maximizing privacy and efficient use of space. It is accessed via a stylish sliding barn-style door, which saves room and adds a rustic touch. Despite its compact size, the bathroom is well-equipped with a modern sink, a standard flushing toilet, and a shower, providing all the essentials for comfortable daily living. The Aria 24 features a single bedroom, which is accessed through a staircase cleverly integrated with storage compartments, offering extra space for belongings. The bedroom itself is a loft-style area with a low ceiling, typical of many tiny houses, and it accommodates a comfortable double bed along with a small storage nook for personal items. While specific pricing for the Aria 24 has not been released, homes in the Aria series typically start at around US$50,000, making it an appealing option for affordable tiny living. Microsoft adds enterprise search and ‘digital labor’ tools to M365 Copilot
Microsoft is strengthening its Copilot generative AI software as the centerpiece of the workspace by adding key features to help users be more productive. The company’s next wave of Copilot updates includes “digital labor” tools to automate work and merge document intelligence, with the aim of helping enterprise users to work smarter, not harder. For example, a new Copilot Search feature neatly summarizes information by going through wads of unstructured information stored in an organization’s apps and systems. Copilot can provide context and present information after searching for data in common Microsoft productivity tools and third-party apps that include Google Drive, Slack, ServiceNow, and software from Atlassian. The new AI features, which include other summarization, desktop personalization, and administrative tools, are possible because of “advanced models, adaptive memory, and reasoning agents,” Microsoft said in a blog post. Other new Copilot features include “memory and personalization” capabilities — something Microsoft touted at its recent 50th anniversary event — which can personalize the desktop experience by retaining and understanding user preferences over time. “Memory and personalization are private just to you, and if you’re ever working with sensitive information, you can control what Copilot remembers,” Microsoft wrote in its blog. The “Copilot Notebooks” feature allows users to create a mini-AI model based on their notes and documents. Users can create a “notebook” and load it with relevant documents based on the task at hand. The notebook will then present contextual answers by scanning only those documents. The notebooks can be updated with new documents, which the AI model indexes into the corpus of data. Copilot Notebooks is similar to Google’s NotebookLM app, which is included in the competitor’s Workspace productivity suite. Google also announced the addition of new genAI features to Workspace at this month’s Cloud Next conference. The new capabilities will begin rolling out to Microsoft 365 Copilot customers in late May, the company said. Microsoft’s paid enterprise genAI offering is available as an add-on to commercial M365 subscriptions for an additional $30 per user per month. In Microsoft’s new Agent Store, customers can find pre-built AI agents from Microsoft and partners including Jira, Monday.com, and Miro. Microsoft’s previously announced Researcher and Analyst reasoning agents are rolling out to customers in the new Agent Store starting today via the company’s Frontier program. Companies can also offer their own custom agents in the store. Microsoft also announced the Copilot Control System for system administrators to manage the creation and deployment of AI agents within enterprise systems — including the ability to enable, disable, or block agents for specific users or groups. Microsoft is at the very beginning of the journey toward agentic AI, said J.P. Gownder, vice president and principal analyst at Forrester Research. “Microsoft Copilot Agents are good for tapping into specific data sources — like a SharePoint site — to ensure that you are querying the right data source,” Gownder said. Forrester views some Copilot features that handle simple tasks and tap into specific sources as being more “agent-ish” as opposed to true agentic AI. “Agent-ish solutions can solve point problems, but they aren’t the ‘digital coworkers’ that vendors are talking about, at least not yet,” Gownder said. As Copilot and other AI systems further integrate with enterprise tools, system administrators will need to put in guardrails so unauthorized users aren’t able to access sensitive information from AI features, said Jack Gold, principal analyst at J. Gold Associates. “Do you let Jack, who is a low-level employee, ask anything he wants? Knowing roles and security and data access clearance of various users… is going to be very important for general-purpose AI systems,” Gold said. Users will also need to use common sense, as AI tends to wander if not given specific context or criteria in queries. Depending on the role and data complexity, the user training process “will probably be a trial-and-error issue,” Gold said. “The biggest challenge will be: can you trust the results that the agents just provided you?” Gold added.

Peterson Rich Office teases MoMA Design store makeover for fall 2025
Brooklyn-based Peterson Rich Office (PRO) is engaged in a renovation of the MoMA Design Store’s popular SoHo location on Spring Street in New York City. MoMA announced the project earlier this week, along with the scope of the work, which will help it "better reflect how visitors engage with retail and design today." The store will reopen later this fall. The practice was also included in the museum’s recent highly publicized New York, New Publics exhibition. PRO is currently at work redesigning public spaces at The Met after completing two cultural projects—a glass-enclosed expansion of the Davison Arts Center at Wesleyan University and an adaptive reuse for a new art gallery space in Detroit—last year.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Switch 2 Edition Will Support Cloud Save Backup
While there have been concerns about Switch 2 Edition releases for games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom would not support save data backup in the cloud through Nintendo Switch Online, Nintendo has seemingly noticed the potential issues from this. As caught by NintendoLife, warnings that were previously present on the eShop listing for the Switch 2 Edition versions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom about cloud saves have since been changed to offer more clarity. Previously, the eShop listing had a warning that Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom would not support save data backup through the cloud service offered through Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions. This would mean that potentially save data worth hundreds of hours would have to be left behind if a player were to upgrade to the upcoming console and want to play these games there. The message has now been clarified to indicate that new save data has been created in the second slot of the Switch 2 Edition of the game cannot be taken back to the original Switch. “Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch,” reads the new note. This updated note is currently visible on the eShop pages for both Tears of the Kingdom – Switch 2 Edition, as well as the Switch 2-exclusive Donkey Kong Bananza. Other titles, like Breath of the Wild – Switch 2 Edition still sport the older warning. Reports of some Switch 2 games not supporting save data backup through Nintendo Switch Online first popped up earlier this month thanks to the eShop listings of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The Switch 2 Edition upgrades for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be available when the console hits store shelves on June 5. The upgrades, priced at $10 if you already own the Switch version of the game, will also be available as standalone titles priced at $70 digitally. Nintendo has previously confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Switch 2 Edition will not include content from the expansion pass that was originally released for the title on the Switch. Rather, new players will have to buy the expansion pass separately to get access to the expansions released for the title. Other Switch games will also be getting Switch 2 Edition upgrades, including Super Mario Party Jamboree with the Jamboree TV expansion, Kirby and the Forgotten Land with the Star Crossed World expansion, and even upcoming titles like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Along with enhanced visuals, improved performance and quicker load times, the Switch 2 Edition upgrades will also bring in new content for some games. Both The Legend of Zelda titles will also get access to new features through the official Nintendo smartphone app.
