    Adobe releases Photoshop 26.6
html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/loose.dtd" Adobe has released Photoshop 26.6, the latest version of the image-editing software, widely used in the entertainment industry for concept art, texture editing, and retouching renders. The release adds a new Select Details system to the AI-powered Object Selection tool, making it possible to select individual parts of a person’s body or clothing in an image automatically. The Generate Image feature can now use a reference image to guide the composition of the image generated, and there are new on-canvas controls for quick color adjustments. In addition, the latest beta build of the software features a revamped Actions panel, which suggests likely multi-step edits to an image. Photoshop 26.6: new Select Details options in the AI-powered Object Selection tool Photoshop 26.6 updates the software’s AI-powered Object Selection tool to make it easier to select and edit people within images. When hovering over a person, Photoshop now automatically identifies individual details that can be selected, as shown in the image at the top of this story. They can include facial features like the eyes, mouth and teeth; facial skin; hair – with facial hair and eyebrows coming up as separate details; and individual items of clothing. Once selected, the details can be edited independently of the surrounding image: for example, to quickly change the color of someone’s eyes or clothes while retouching. The functionality can also be accessed via a new Select People button in the options bar. Generate Image now supports composition references Generate Image, the Firefly-powered generative AI feature rolled out in Photoshop 25.11 last year, has also been updated. As well as typing in a text prompt to guide the image that Photoshop generates, users can now upload an existing image to act as a composition reference. Photoshop then generates a new image in the style of the text prompt, but with a composition – or in the case of images of people, a pose – matching the reference image. New on-canvas controls for quick color adjustments to images Other new features include Adjust Colors, for making quick color adjustments to images.Accessible from the contextual task bar, it launches on-canvas controls for adjusting the Hue, Saturation and Lightness of colours within an image: either the six Prominent Colors that Photoshop has identified automatically, or the color selected with the eyedropper tool. The same controls in the Properties panel for Hue/Saturation adjustment layers have also been redesigned, with larger sliders and swatches. Option to process Select Subject and Remove Background in the cloud In addition, it is now possible to do the processing for the Select Subject and Remove Background tools in the cloud, for “faster, more precise” results. Photoshop beta: reimagined Actions Panel suggests multi-step edits to images Outside the stable release, the beta build of Photoshop features a reimagined Actions panel. As well as letting you record your own macros, it now suggests five multi-step edits that can be applied to the image or previewed on the canvas. It is also now possible to search for actions – both the readymade ones bundled with Photoshop and your own custom actions – using natural-language text prompts. Pricing and system requirements Photoshop 26.6 is compatible with Windows 10+ and macOS 12.0+. In the online documentation, it is also referred to as the April 2025 release or Photoshop 2025.5.The software is rental-only, with Photography subscription plans that include access to Photoshop costing $239.88/year. Single-app Photoshop subscriptions cost $34.49/month or $263.88/year. Brondell Swash Thinline T44 bidet review: king of the throne
It is our lot in life to poop. We eat stuff, digest it, and then the waste must be expelled. That’s just the way it is, which means we are destined to spend a not-insignificant portion of our time sitting on the porcelain throne. So why not make that as pleasant an experience as possible? And if your toilet seat can make the experience better, cleaner, and more comfortable, then does it not deserve its own throne?Behold the Brondell Swash Thinline T44, the best bidet seat I’ve ever sat on. And for $700, it had better be. 8Verge ScoreBrondell Swash Thinline T44 bidet toilet seat$559$70020% off$559The GoodBest-looking, lowest-profile bidet toilet seat out thereCleans incredibly thoroughlyUltra comfortableThe BadDifficult to change some of the lower-level settingsWish the air dryer dried betterOccasional compatibility issues with Squatty PottyHow we rate and review productsThe Thinline T44 is a bidet toilet seat. These sorts of things have been around since 1980, when the Toto Washlet debuted in Japan, and they’re a lot more convenient than the old standalone bidets they’ve more or less replaced. At its most basic, the bidet toilet seat fits on your toilet bowl, connects to the water supply line, and washes your butt. They can be as cheap and simple as something that blasts you with cold water when you open a valve. The Thinline T44, from San Francisco-based company Brondell, is on the other end of the spectrum.I am not a bidet rookie here. I reviewed one (actually from Brondell) 13 years ago, and I’ve been a convert ever since. I also just spent three weeks traveling around Japan, where nearly every toilet (including those on high-speed trains) has a bidet seat attached. Nearly all of them are made by Toto, and they range from the most basic water sprayers to full toilets with integrated bidets. This is the nicest photo anyone’s ever taken of a bidet seat. Image: BrondellIt’s pretty sleek for a bidet toilet seat. Image: BrondellThe T44 has a heated seat, instantly heated water (temperature adjustable) to clean your backside, a separate jet to clean your front side (a feature not generally recommended by medical professionals), and a hot air dryer, so you need very little toilet paper. The jets can also be repositioned or set to oscillate, and you can adjust the level of water pressure, too. It features a nightlight (three different colors), a deodorizing air filter, and self-cleaning jets. All of this is managed via a sleek remote control, with a cradle you can stick to the wall within easy arm’s reach.None of those features may sound novel if you’re familiar with bidet toilet seats. The difference is that they work better than any I’ve tried in the past, including units from Bio Bidet, Kohler, Tushy, Brondell, and, of course, Toto. RelatedThe T44 has a wide range of pressure settings, from very gentle to stronger than most of us would (or should) choose. The cleaning is very thorough. The seat heats quickly and more evenly, with fewer hotspots compared to older units I’ve tried from Brondell and others. The water temperature stays more consistent than other models I’ve used, too, which occasionally hit you with a chilly stream. The hot air dryer’s fan is stronger and does a better, targeted job of drying your bum (though it’s still a far cry from a Dyson Airblade hand-dryer, and the hairy-butted among us will probably need two or three dry sessions and still require a bit of TP). When I was traveling through Japan, I was surprised to find that the vast majority of bidet seats don’t have air dryers at all, which I think is an essential feature. They were only included on some extremely high-end units, and even on those, the dryers lacked horsepower. The T44 is pretty easy to hook up to water and power. It also has a nightlight. Photo: Brent Rose / The VergeThe thing that really stands out about the T44, though, is how little it stands out. While it still looks like a cyber-toilet from outer space, it’s much thinner than your typical bidet toilet seat at just 3.9 inches high. That’s a lot taller than your standard toilet seat, but much lower-profile than most bidet seats. For example, Toto’s best-selling Washlet C5 is nearly 6 inches tall at the back. This makes the T44 look more like a modern, luxurious toilet seat than a piece of medical equipment. It’s also more comfortable to sit on.Installing the Swash Thinline T44 is easier than you would expect. Simply remove your old seat and close the water supply valve. Flush the toilet to empty the tank and then disconnect the water supply line. Install the included hose with the T-connector between the valve and the tank. Mount the seat on the toilet, connect the hose to the bidet, turn the water back on, check for drips, plug in the power, and you’re good to go. Actually, that is one thing to consider: not all bathrooms have power outlets, mine included. My toilet and shower are separated from the sink and vanity, where the outlets are. I had to get a very thin extension cord and use some guides to keep it tightly pressed to the doorjamb, otherwise my door wouldn’t close. Even with that, I consider the installation simple and worth it.Finally, a toilet seat with a remote control. Image: BrondellThe cleaning wand has instant warm water and several power levels. Image: BrondellThere is room for improvement. While I love that it has two user-preset buttons, setting those modes requires you to use a secret series of button presses you can only find in the manual. Very unintuitive. You need an even more elaborate series of button presses to change the default drying duration. This is where a Bluetooth radio and a simple phone app would be handy, if only for adjusting settings. There are also a couple weird little bugs and quirks. For example, if you select your user profile, it will wash you with all of your desired settings. But if you want a little more washin’, and you hit that button combination again, something gets lost and it will forget to include oscillation or something. I also had some issues while using the T44 with my feet on a Squatty Potty type thing (yes, I know, how many toilet accessories can one man have? Leave me alone!) Something about the angle of my legs or weight distribution would sometimes trip up the occupancy sensor, so I couldn’t get it to wash me until I stood up for a minute or so to allow it to reset. I went back and forth with Brondell’s excellent technical support team, but we never got to the bottom of it. The support team couldn’t replicate it in their testing, so it might just be my weird body or something. The issue became very rare when I moved the mounting bracket forward so the seat was a bit more flush with the bowl’s rim, but it’s something to consider. How many toilet accessories can one man have? Leave me alone!I hope Brondell steals some of the bidet seat features I tried in Japan for the next generation. For instance, a lid that automatically opens when you step into the bathroom. Being able to raise or lower the seat with a push of a button on the remote control. Some were even connected to the flush mechanism; the toilet would flush, and the lid would close when you push a button on the remote. Are these mandatory features? No, but they’re nice to have. These minor gripes aside, I absolutely love this thing. It’s so much more comfortable to use than toilet paper, and you feel much, much cleaner. Not to mention that it’s mostly a hands-free experience, so once you push the button on the remote, you are free to continue doom-scrolling on your phone. While that’s true of most bidet seats, the extra powerful jets make this one work a lot better than any other unit I’ve tested, and it’s easily the best-looking and most comfortable to sit on. Sure, I wish they could turbo-charge the air dryer to reduce my toilet paper usage even more, but, ultimately, the Swash Thinline T44 is the best your butt can get.Happy poopin’.See More:

Looks Like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Will Support Cloud Saves After All
Nintendo has confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 version will support cloud saves after all.We already knew that the Nintendo Switch 2 was set to get special enhanced versions of several Switch 1 games, including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but as IGN reported last week, a disclaimer had fans worrying that some games, or at least this one, wouldn't support Nintendo's cloud save functionality as they'd hope. That's because, initially, Nintendo's pages for Tears of the Kingdom's Switch 2 edition carried the following disclaimer: "Please note: this software does not support the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership’s Save Data Cloud backup feature."PlayNow, however, Nintendo has updated its website to provide more information. While Donkey Kong Bananza's page has since scrubbed all mention of cloud saves completely, Nintendo has revised the disclaimer on the Tears of the Kingdom page so it now states: "Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch."The disclaimer should reassure concerned Switch 2 owners. This suggests players will be able to transfer their old Switch 1 Tears of the Kingdom saves to their new Switch 2 devices, but it won't be possible to transfer Switch 2 saves back to the OG system (thanks, Eurogamer). The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition page also now includes the same message, suggesting an identical approach to save transfers.Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders went live overnight, with the price still fixed at $449.99 — and they went about as well as you'd expect. The Accountant 2 Review: Enjoy Some Dumb Fun with Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal
In half of his scenes in The Accountant 2, Jon Bernthal‘s character Braxton eats something sweet. Sometimes he’s finishing a quart of ice cream. Sometimes he’s sucking on a lolly. But he’s always eating. And yet, during an extended comic scene in which Braxton wears nothing but black undies and black socks, there’s not a single inch of body fat to be seen. Anyone who wants to enjoy The Accountant 2 must be willing to overlook these glaring departures from reality, because the movie outdoes its 2016 predecessor with its absurd portrayal of autism, handling the condition with as much insight and sensitivity as Rain Man. But anyone who can approach The Accountant 2 as pure fiction will have a blast and enjoy it as a fun and dumb crowdpleaser. After an opening sequence that introduces Daniella Pineda as a walking, killing MacGuffin called Anaïs, this Gavin O’Connor sequel catches up with Christian Wolff (still played by Ben Affleck) as a man whose severe autism makes him an incredibly effective bookkeeper for underground organizations. His autism, combined with the training he received from his special forces father, also makes him an effective killer, a skill he uses when one of those organizations crosses a line. Outside of a line or two of exposition, The Accountant 2 doesn’t go much further into Wolff’s backstory, assuming that viewers already know or don’t care about it. Instead Wolff enters the film in a funny sequence at a speed dating event. Using his analytical skills, Wolff has determined the most efficient and effective profile, drawing droves of women to his table. Yet each of the women walks away in disappointment when Wolff’s inability to read social cues results in him leveling an unflattering remark. Funny as it is, an uncomfortable mean streak runs beneath the bit too. The scene asks viewers to laugh not just at Wolff’s blunt responses, but also at the desperate 40-something singles who rush up to Wolff’s table only to get frustrated and hurt by the real guy. Yet the scene also works because of the aplomb of the performances, the big comic takes by the actresses playing the singles, and by Affleck as Wolff. As demonstrated in The Way Back, his previous collaboration with director O’Connor, Affleck excels at playing insincerity, able to portray someone who doesn’t mean the charming things he says, but deceives out of a deep sadness and loneliness, not out of a desire to manipulate. He plays Wolff as someone who wishes that he could connect with others but doesn’t know how, keeping the audience on the character’s side throughout the movie. It also helps that The Accountant 2 pairs Affleck with Bernthal right from the beginning, letting the movie operate as a buddy action comedy in the vein of 48 Hrs. or Lethal Weapon. An incredibly charismatic actor who can find notes of pathos in tough guys, Bernthal’s always a joy to watch, but he sometimes over relies on his tics—darting his head back and forth to portray frustration or pointing aggressively when his tough guys get sad. Bernthal’s makes no effort to complicate those tics with this guy, but they all work because he’s playing next to Affleck’s buttoned-down Wolff, a man almost devoid of affect, resulting in a pleasing combination. Bernthal’s also a great action performer, which comes in handy with The Accountant 2‘s many visceral action scenes. In the nine years between the two Accountant films, the John Wick franchise has raised expectations for Western action, making the frenetic gun battles of previous American genre entries insufficient. The Accountant 2 still has lots of scenes of people shooting projectiles at one another from a covered distance, but O’Conor, fight coordinator David Conk, and their team of stunt performers keep things feeling real and visceral, especially when the guns go away and the action plays out in clearly staged and practical hand-to-hand combat. So great are these comic and action beats that viewers hardly notice the many problems in Bill Dubuque’s script. In addition to a story that makes autism into an X-Men style mutant ability, The Accountant 2 even features a stately special school where gifted youngsters use their talents in a secret underground computer lab. However, the film also uses too many other ugly American genre tropes. Once again, the bad guys are Mexicans with lots of tattoos, who menace women forced into sex work and children who stare longingly into the distance, waiting for our white American male heroes to save them. In fairness, Dubuque’s script tries to complicate those tropes. The true big bads are two white guys (Robert Morgan and Grant Harvey), and the primary plot driver is Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), who returns from the first film with an upgrade to Treasury Department chief. She is the one who contracts Wolff to look for Anaïs. Anaïs herself acts as an agency: a Mexican woman on a mission of vengeance against those who stole her family. Yet no part of the film seems particularly interested in that. Anaïs and the white bad guys disappear from the screen for long stretches, and their returns feel like unnecessary stuffing. Medina sets the plot in motion when she contacts Wolff, but then she constantly tries to stop it from continuing, nagging Wolff and Braxton about their methods and reassuring the viewers that the U.S. government doesn’t condone invasive surveillance, illegal extradition, and other things that the movie portrays as really, really cool. Join our mailing list Get the best of Den of Geek delivered right to your inbox! Which is the case for most things in The Accountant 2. They look really cool or feel really fun in the moment, but become uncomfortable when taken seriously for more than two seconds. The movie is best enjoyed, then, in the exact opposite manner of Christian Wolff. Don’t analyze what you see, don’t look for patterns. Thrill to the explosions, laugh at the buddy interactions, and God help anyone who tries to apply The Accountant franchise to real life. The Accountant 2 opens in theaters on April 25, 2025.

TSMC chips to hit 1.4nm in 2028, with confusing name confirmed
Apple chipmaker TSMC says that it will make chips with a sub-2nm process size for the first time ever in 2028, and that the development of 1.4nm chips will allow for greater AI capabilities. The iPhone maker is generally first in line for the company’s most advanced chipmaking capabilities, so we can expect the chips – slightly confusingly dubbed A14 – to debut in 2028 iPhones … Up until around 1997, the sizes of chip processes referred to physical size of transistor gates in nanometers. Since then, the actual numbers are more marketing speak than anything, but it is the case that each process generation is smaller than the last, and that TSMC has for a great many years led the race toward ever smaller processes. But the convention of using nanometers to describe the process size has led to a slight naming issue for TSMC. All was fine when it was N7, N5, N3, and N2 – but we heard back in 2023 that the company would adopt a new naming convention once it moved below 2nm. Specifically, it would swap the N prefix for an A, and 1.4nm chips would be labelled A14. This of course conflicts with the naming of Apple processors. But the company has now confirmed this, stating that the first A14 chip will be made in 2028. TSMC today unveiled its next cutting-edge logic process technology, A14, at the Company’s North America Technology Symposium. Representing a significant advancement from TSMC’s industry-leading N2 process, A14 is designed to drive AI transformation forward by delivering faster computing and greater power efficiency. It says the new generation of chips will allow even greater AI performance in particular. Compared with the N2 process, which is about to enter volume production later this year, A14 will offer up to 15% speed improvement at the same power, or up to 30% power reduction at the same speed, along with more than 20% increase in logic density […] It’s also expected to enhance smartphones by improving their on-board AI capabilities, making them even smarter.  TSMC always has limited production capacity for its latest processes, and Apple typically books 100% of that capacity for its own use in the launch year.
