Las Vegas police thanked Elon Musk for investigating the Tesla Cybertruck blast outside Trump's hotel
A Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel at Las Vegas on Wednesday.Las Vegas police thanked Elon Musk for his assistance in investigating the blast.Musk gave the police further information on the blast and footage from Tesla's charging stations.Las Vegas police expressed their appreciation for Tesla CEO Elon Musk's assistance after a Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel on New Year's Day."I have to thank Elon Musk specifically," Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill said at a press conference on Wednesday."He gave us quite a bit of additional information in regards to how the vehicle was locked after it exploded due to the nature of the force from the explosion as well as being able to capture all of the video from Tesla charging stations across the country, he sent that directly to us so I appreciate his help on that," the sheriff added. The explosion, which took place at 8:40 a.m. Las Vegas time, left one dead and seven injured. The driver, who was killed in the explosion, has not been named.McMahill told reporters that the Cybertruck's cargo bed contained gasoline canisters, fuel canisters, and "larger mortar fireworks." The FBI is trying to determine whether the blast was an act of terrorism."The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards," Musk wrote in an X post on the same day, echoing McMahill's remarks at the press conference."The fact that this was a Cybertruck really limited the damage that occurred inside of the valet because it had most of the blast go up through the truck and out," McMahill said at the press conference."In fact, if you look on that video you'll see that the front glass doors of the Trump hotel were not even broken by that blast which they were parked directly in front of," he added.A video of the blown-up Cybertruck was also shown during the briefing. The vehicle's cargo bed was torched by the explosion, but its hull appeared to be otherwise intact, per the footage.Tesla did not respond to Business Insider's request for comment. The Cybertruck's cargo bed was torched during the explosion, but the vehicle's hull appeared to be otherwise intact. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department The blast happened just hours after a driver plowed into a crowd of people in New Orleans with a rented Ford pickup truck. At least 15 people were killed during the New Orleans attack. President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that authorities are investigating if the two incidents are linked."The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now," Musk wrote on X following the explosion in Las Vegas.Musk wrote in a subsequent X post that "the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself.""All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion," he added. The Cybertruck was first announced by Tesla in November 2019, but design changes saw the its release get delayed from 2021 to 2023.When Musk first unveiled the Cybertruck in 2019, he said that the vehicle will be made from the same stainless-steel alloy used in SpaceX's Starship rocket. The Cybertruck's skin "is literally bulletproof to a 9-mm handgun," Musk said."So, you know, when you say something's built tough, that's what we mean," he added.

Tianlin Park Renewal / VIASCAPE design
Tianlin Park Renewal / VIASCAPE designSave this picture! CreatAR ImagesParkShanghai, ChinaArchitects: VIASCAPE designAreaArea of this architecture projectArea:14000 mYearCompletion year of this architecture project Year: 2023 PhotographsPhotographs:CreatAR ImagesMore SpecsLess SpecsSave this picture!1. To Be A Contemporary Community ParkTianlin Park, initially a fenced-off green space named "Tianlin Central Green Land", was built in 1999. As a public green space serving nearly 20,000 residents in an area with a radius of 300 meters, it had only one entrance at the southwest before renewal. This fact isolates the park from its surroundings and fails to build connection with the daily life. This green land, providing minimal chance for residents in the east to get access, run at low efficiency as one of the public goods. This calls for a truly open community park without the fence.Save this picture!Save this picture! After thorough survey, research, design and local hearing sessions, VIASCAPE's renewal scheme was finally stabilized after going through the reviews at the end of 2021. Our design strategies include removing boundary walls at the east and west, blending the park into the community with strong publicity, and keeping the park 24-hour open. On top of these, the design scheme addresses more critical topics such as responding to all age users' requirements, existing landscaping integration, and presentation of community and local culture. All efforts contribute to the final product of Tianlin Park as a contemporary community urban habitat with full spatial structure and regional characters.Save this picture!Save this picture!2. A Vibrant Habitat Circle of ActivitiesTianlin Park is defined as a "community park" [1] in terms of its size and location. In Chinese " Tianlin" is composed of the two characters "Tian" which means land and "Lin" which means woods. However, our site survey shows a rather surprising fact that this place is filled with existing dense well-established trees but hardly has recreational activity spaces. And the existing '"woods" with densely spotted trees established for more than 20 years is the restrictive condition of increasing functional spaces for fitness, recreational facilities, and other all age activities. To retain existing big trees and other crucial green resources in the park, we decided to build a framework for the activities under the tree canopy based on the current circular and curvy pedestrian network. With the "shaping with existing shape" [2] design strategy, we build a vibrant habitat Circle of activities with "circular lawn+ circular main path + curved activity areas" in the core area of the park.Save this picture!Save this picture!VIASCAPE designed a round lawn in the center of the park for users to get quick access, providing an open green experience in the high-density community. Mengtian Gallery, which incorporates terraced decking, a viewing platform, a recreational area, a gardening center and a habitat center, is the most significant recreational and service center in the park at the north part of the lawn area with the best sun exposure. Meanwhile, the main path consists of a "3 meters jogging lane + 1.5m circular recreational green zone + 1.5m circular pedestrian" set aside at the grand lawn is assembled to create the basic spatial structure of Tianlin Park with a multi-functional purpose. Functional spaces such as fitness courts, kids' play and family gaming areas are arranged outside of the main road ring for all age users. These areas are weaved into the existing woods with an alternating pattern, forming a vibrant space covered with natural green and stitching the community vibrancy and its natural base together. The construction of vibrant habitats built upon circular space is crucial to Tianlin Park's spatial design. This design is not just adapted to current user behaviors but also bears unique spatial and visual characters belonging only to Tianlin Park.Save this picture!Save this picture!3. Production of the Natural Habitat SystemTree preservation and carbon sink building are fundamental parts of the renewal design considering the existing lush woods, which inspired us to create a natural habitat system in Tianlin Park. We apply manicured evergreen flowery shrubs as the backbone of the shrub layer under the canopy. On top of this, low-maintenance perennial groundcovers and other shade-tolerant perennial flowers are employed to build a simple, but rather natural green space. We also leave the edge of pedestrian and other paved areas fully open, with which sunken green spaces are generated to establish a rain garden system. Diverse functions are furthermore married to the rain gardens to create diverse categories such as natural style, land art style and water source style.Save this picture!Save this picture!Along the natural style rain gardens, we incorporate fruit viewing habitat, fragrant habitat, herbs habitat and rock stone habitat into the under-canopy space. This will naturally create biodiversity, abundant visiting experience, and educational significance. And we designed "Insect Hotel" and "Benjes Hedge" with wasted building materials (bricks and stones) and abandoned tree trunks, applying them in the construction of ecological land-forming. Different from the penetration function of natural style rain garden and land art style rain gardens, water source rain garden is sunken green space under the tree canopy that is capable of storing rainwater, synergized with adjacent new fruit trees to provide water and food source for birds. We try to balance natural protection and the construction of a more comprehensive park habitat system, which will increase the environmental carrying capacity for the community and create a direct visiting experience with natural habitat and ecological education elements under the construction of a holistic green landscape.Save this picture!Save this picture!4. Cultural Habitat of the NeighborhoodThe general layout of Tianlin Park could be mapped as two rectangles with different sizes. A smaller rectangle to the east is spatially independent. It was a paved area enclosed with metasequoia woods before renewal. We incorporated a multifunctional tourist center (Linyin Gallery [3] ) in the existing paved area, providing basic services for users.Save this picture!Save this picture! The design of Linyin Gallery and its surroundings differs from the major space for Tianlin Park according to the spatial and contiguity analysis. It follows a 4x4x4m module, which maps a combination of tangibles and intangibles. In the presence of the metasequoia woods, Linyin Gallery manages to be a serene corner of the park. The modular design that balances the tangible and the intangible enables flexibility to incorporate diverse functions, such as the tourist center and 24-hour open entrance east of the Park. Linyin Gallery is poised at a flowy move that is "straight and curvy", "dynamic and still", and "hidden and exposed", presenting a space and cultural philosophyof contemporary garden design. In comparison to the openness of Tianlin Park main part, the in-depth hiddenness of Linyin Gallery in metasequoia woods leads an unique landscape experience.Save this picture!Save this picture!5. the Complete Meaning of Habitat in Tianlin Park"The HABITAT in the Woods" is the design concept of Tianlin Park renewal project, also a summary of VIASCAPE's effort to protect existing vegetation, optimize the land use under the tree canopy, and improve the natural environment. We pursue to design and construct the Complete Meaning of Habitat in Tianlin Park, which is: a landscape system that responds to its positioning as a community park and meets the needs of the users to incorporate multifunctional activity zones. based on the open green image of Tianlin Park, versatile expressions of the rain garden system uncurled a natural habitat with soil, vegetation, insects, small mammals, and birds as heroes. the trial of the modern garden building combined with park administration service at the east part of Tianlin Park, is an attempt to implant local cultural habitat. The academic issue of how to develop and inherit the traditional Chinese garden culture spirit is of the special concern in VIASCAPE's design practice.Save this picture!Save this picture! What is worth mentioning in the end is the lighting installation named Lin Jian Meng TianSave this picture![1]2017CJJ/T85-2017G12""[2]VIA""[3] 20244VIA""""[4] """"""""""47Project gallerySee allShow lessProject locationAddress:Xuhui District, Shanghai, ChinaLocation to be used only as a reference. Paradoxical link between senescent cell state and liver cancer resolved
Nature, Published online: 01 January 2025; doi:10.1038/d41586-024-04137-zMetabolic-dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is defined by lipid accumulation and inflammation, and makes liver cells enter a tumour-suppressive state called senescence while increasing cancer risk. Investigation of this paradox reveals that MASH-inducing diets trigger senescence by causing DNA damage. However, prolonged metabolic stress allows once-senescent liver cells to start dividing and progress to cancer.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice: Ways To Shake Up A Second Playthrough
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an outlier in FromSoftware's recent catalog. It deviates from the standard soulslike formula in a number of ways, but perhaps the most notable is its focus on a single weapon for the player, with limited additional abilities. However, this focus means that it has some of the tightest-feeling gameplay in an action game.

The best SSDs for PS5 in 2025
When Sony first released the PlayStation 5, it wasnt possible to expand the consoles storage. Thankfully, that changed with a software update that the company pushed out less than a year later. And with how big some game installs have become in recent years, its a good thing, too: the PS5s built-in 667GB of space may have been good enough in the systems first year, but now, the default drive is absolutely limiting. The good news is a standard PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 NVMe SSD can solve all of your PS5 storage woes. If that mess of acronyms has you recoiling, dont worry: youll see that its not all that complicated. And if all you want to know is what the best PS5 SSDs are, weve got them right at the top. Read more: These are the best SSDs in 2025 Best PS5 SSDs in 2025 How we test PS5 SSDs Ive tested most of the SSDs recommended on this list, either for PS5 or computer use. I also bought and used our top pick in my own PS5. How much PS5 storage do I need? The PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro can accept internal drives with between 250GB and 8TB of storage capacity. If you already own a PS5, chances are you have a reasonable idea of how much storage you need for your game library. If youre buying an SSD with a new PS5 or PS5 Pro, or buying for someone else, its more difficult to tell what you might need for a high-performance experience. PS5 games are smaller on average than their PS4 equivalents, typically taking up between 30GB and 100GB, with some notable (and very popular) exceptions. If youre a fan of the Call of Duty series, installing Black Ops 6and Warzone 2.0 can eat up to 240GB. In other words, a full Call of Duty install will take up more than one-third of the PS5s internal storage. If youre not a CoD fan, though, chances are youll be good to store between six to 10 games on a regular PS5 internally before running into problems. You also need to consider your internet speed. If you live in an area with slow broadband, the you can just download it again rationale doesnt really work. At my old home, a 100GB download took me around eight hours, during which time it was difficult to simultaneously watch Twitch or, say, publish articles about upgrading PS5 SSDs. Keeping games around on the off-chance youll want to play them at some point makes sense. Aaron Souppouris / Engadget Off the bat, there's basically no point in going for a 250GB PS5 SSD. Economically, 250GB drives arent that much cheaper than 500GB ones and practically, that really isnt a lot of space for modern games to live on. 500GB drives can be a decent option, but after years of declining prices, I think the sweet spot for most people is to opt for a high-capacity 1TB or 2TB drive, which should run you at most $200. The latter will more than double the PS5 Pros storage without breaking the bank. Unless youre rolling in cash and want to flex, 4TB and 8TB models should mostly be avoided, as youll end up paying more per gigabyte than you would with a 1TB or 2TB drive. While the 825GB PS5 only provides 667GB of storage, thats largely due to storage being reserved for the operating system and caching. If you install a 1TB PS5 SSD, you'll have, within a margin of error, 1TB of storage available for games. Out of the box, the PS5 Pro offers 1.86TB of storage for games, though you can eke out more if you delete the pre-installed Astros Playroom (gasp). Since neither the PS5 Slim nor PS5 Pro feature updated CPU architecture, all of our recommendations will work with whatever PS5 model you own. Can you play PS5 games on an external SSD? External hard drives tend to cost less than internal SSD counterparts (and theres a good chance you might own one already). Unfortunately, there are restrictions on what you can do with them. An external SSD connects to your PS5 via USB, and is only suitable for playing PlayStation 4 games, or storing PS5 titles. Thats useful if you have anything but the best high-speed internet its faster to move a PS5 game out of cold storage on an external drive than it is to re-download it or want to keep your PS4 library on hand. Due to the limitations here, you dont need the highest-performing model, although you should opt for SSDs over HDDs for improved transfer speeds and load times. Any basic portable drive from a reputable brand will do, with the Crucial X9 Pro and Samsung T7 being options weve tried and can recommend. Which SSD cards are compatible with the PS5? The official answer to this question is an M.2 Socket 3 (Key M) Gen4 x4 NVME SSD. But even within that seemingly specific description, there are additional factors to consider. The main requirements Sony has laid out for compatibility come down to speed, cooling and physical dimensions. For speed, Sony says drives should be able to handle sequential reads at 5,500MB/s. Early testing showed that the PS5 would accept drives as slow as 4,800MB/s, and that games that tap into the SSD regularly such as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart would cause no issues. Pretty much the only thing the PS5 will outright reject is one that doesn't match the Gen4 x4 spec. In our opinion, though, using a drive slower than the specification is a risk that, if you dont already have that drive lying around, is not worth taking. Just because we havent found issues yet doesnt mean there wont be games that could be problematic in the future. The price difference between these marginally slower Gen4 drives and the ones that meet Sonys spec isnt huge, and you might as well cover all your bases. Slightly more complicated than speed is cooling and size. Most new SSDs are going to be just fine; the PS5 can fit 22mm-wide SSDs of virtually any length (30mm, 40mm, 60mm, 80mm or 110mm, to be precise). The vast majority of drives you find will be 22mm wide and 80mm long, so no problem there. It should be noted that the system can fit a 25mm-wide drive, but that width must include the cooling solution. Speaking of, Sony says SSDs require effective heat dissipation with a cooling structure, such as a heatsink. The maximum height supported by Sonys slot is 11.25mm, of which only 2.45mm can be below the drive. This previously meant some of the most popular heatsinked Gen4 SSDs, including Corsairs MP600 Pro LP, would not fit within the PS5s storage expansion slot. Since Engadget first published this guide in 2021, most NVMe makers, including Samsung, have come out with PlayStation-specific models that meet those requirements. That said, if you want to save some money, bare drives are often cheaper and its trivial to find a cooling solution that will work for the PS5. The only component in an NVMe SSD that really requires cooling is the controller, which without a heatsink will happily sear a (very small) steak. Most SSDs have chips on only one side, but even on double-sided SSDs, the controller is likely to be on top, as manufacturers know it needs to be positioned there to better dissipate heat. So, head to your PC component seller of choice and pick up basically anything that meets the recommended dimensions. A good search term is laptop NVME heatsink, as these will be designed to fit in the confines of gaming laptops, which are even more restrictive than a PS5. Theyre also typically cheaper than the ones labeled as PS5 heatsinks. One recommendation is this $6 copper heatsink, which attaches to the PS5 SSD with sticky thermal interface material. It works just fine, and in performing stress tests on a PC, we couldnt find anything metal that didnt keep temperatures under control. When youre searching, just make sure the solution you go for measures no more than 25mm wide or 8mm tall (including the thermal interface material) and has a simple method of installation thats not going to cause any headaches. One last thing: When shopping for a PS5 NVMe, theres no reason to buy a Gen5 model over a more affordable Gen4 model. As things stand, Sonys console cant take advantage of the new standard, and though Gen5 drives are backward compatible, theyre more expensive than their Gen4 counterparts. Just buy the fastest and highest-capacity Gen4 model you can afford. How to install an SSD into your PS5 If you need guidance on how to install your new NVMe into your PS5 or PS5 Pro, we have a separate guide detailing all the steps here. Installation is pretty straightforward, but our how-to can help you if you're stuck. Just make note: Before attempting to add more storage via a PS5 SSD, ensure that you have Sonys latest software installed. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/gaming/playstation/best-ps5-ssd-expansion-upgrade-150052315.html?src=rss
