The most exciting indie games for 2025 from Citizen Sleeper 2 to Wanderstop
The most exciting indie games for 2025 from Citizen Sleeper 2 to WanderstopAdam StarkeyPublished January 2, 2025 1:00am Get ready for a stack of sleeper hits (Jump Over The Age)GameCentral names the most promising indie games which should be on your radar in 2025, including big sequels and stop-motion nightmares. While Astro Bot, Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree, and other blockbusters led the gaming conversation in 2024, indie games arguably deserved the spotlight more. Balatro, Animal Well, UFO 50, Lorelei And The Laser Eyes, Minishoot Adventures, Sorry Were Closed, and The Rise Of The Golden Idol, were just some of the highlights, and offered more novel variety than the big-hitters.Everything about 2025 suggests itll be a banner year for the big dogs, with GTA 6 and the new Nintendo console leading the way, but the expansive gaming landscape today means a hit can strike out of nowhere. Nobody anticipated Helldivers 2s success or Palworlds sudden grip on the conversation (for good and bad) for a solid month.Based on what we can predict, weve collated a 2025 indie game selection box where every title could potentially rival a Crunchie whether through a unique concept, being an anticipated sequel, or based on the developers past work. Citizen Sleeper 2 is kicking off the indie highlights (Jump Over The Age)Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward VectorFormats: Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PCRelease date: January 31Citizen Sleeper was one of the best surprises of 2022, blending tabletop role-playing mechanics and a meditative sci-fi landscape. The sequel looks like a natural evolution of the originals highs, with more meaningful choices and a larger expanse to navigate.Trying to market its compulsive dice-throw loop through a trailer feels about as effective as skimming a novel, but another dive into developer Gareth Damian Martins creative dystopia is an easy sell for anyone who fell for the originals magic.Demon TidesFormats: PCRelease date: 2025If youre a fan of platformers, Demon Turf was one of the genres unsung gems in recent years. It was stylish, packed a killer soundtrack, and was expressive in its movement, something which only evolved in its refined, bitesize sequel Neon Splash. For this follow-up, lead character Beebz has been fully realised in 3D, in a vibrant open world. The switch to a softer art style is a clear push for wider appeal, but all the charm and variety appears intact in this ambitious refresh. A deckbuilder like no other (Mega Crit)Slay The Spire 2Formats: PCRelease date: 2025 (early access)If youre wondering where all these roguelike deckbuilding games like Balatro, and the sorely neglected Midnight Suns, have come from in recent years, Slay The Spire was the catalyst. Six years after its full release, developer Mega Crit is now looking to reclaim its dominance with a sequel.Slay The Spire 2 might struggle to have the same impact, but the sequel certainly seems to have a bigger budget and has had plenty of time to come up with new ideas. Its set to enter early access in 2025, so while it will likely be a couple years before its released on other formats its still going to be attracting plenty of attention right from the start.MorselsFormats: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PCRelease date: February 2025Annapurna Interactive has always been a very reliable stable of indie hits, and while the games division has undergone a dramatic overhaul behind the scenes, the publishers slate for 2025 looks just as strong, as evidenced by this roguelite headlined by a hungry mouse.Morsels looks like The Binding Of Isaac crossed with a nightmare vision of Pokmon, as you rotate through different monsters with special abilities throughout each run. The striking art style is by Toby Dixon, who previously worked on Nidhogg 2 and Atomicrops. Skate Story will hopefully come out this year (Devolver Digital)Skate StoryFormats: PCRelease date: 2025A delayed leftover from our 2024 list, Skate Story is a skateboarding sim set in the underworlds demonic streets. Two years after its reveal, the psychedelic, crystallised visuals and unnerving setting have kept this one firmly in our minds.Skateboarding games were on the upswing a few years back, between Tony Hawks Pro Skater and OlliOlli World, but the absence of a big-hitter since then feels like a prime opportunity for Skate Story to steal some thunder.Bionic BayFormats: PlayStation 5 and PCRelease date: March 13A physics-based platformer with a whiff of Limbo, Bionic Bay is a gravity-manipulating, time-stopping, and body-shifting leap through a biomechanical world. The combination of mechanics screams like a speedrunner paradise, so hopefully the game pushes its potential for extraordinary acrobatics to the extreme. Theres also a mode where you can race against the ghosts of other players, if you fancy a ragdoll giggle. Ninja Gaiden is being revived (Dotemu)Ninja Gaiden: RageboundFormats: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PCRelease date: 2025The developers behind Blasphemous have been given the keys to Ninja Gaiden, in whats pitched as a mash-up between the series side-scrolling roots and the 3D entries. Based on the stylish, throwback trailer, it certainly appears to skew towards the former. There hasnt been a mainline game in the series since 2012s Ninja Gaiden 3, so this quais-reboot is certainly welcome. Developer The Game Kitchen has made its name on Metroidvanias, so itll be interesting to see how they handle a more traditional action game.WanderstopFormats: PlayStation 5 and PCRelease date: March 11A former warrior seeks to heal her trauma by maintaining a tea shop in this narrative-driven adventure. Its billed as a cosy game, but considering this is from the same designer behind The Stanley Parable and The Beginners Guide, expect some subversive twists.Even without the promise of sharp writing, Wanderstop is visually comparable to a lost Pixar movie from the studios peak. Of all the games on this list, this one has awards contender written all over it. A new footy contender (Sloclap)RematchFormats: Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PCRelease date: Summer 2025You might think theres little room for reinvention in the realm of video game football, but Sifu developer Sloclap is giving it a shot. Rematch looks to blend the intricate systems of its brawler predecessor with the presentation of Rocket League in online 5v5 matches. The crucial change is the third-person perspective and your singular control over one player, so its all about perfecting your individual ball skills while coordinating with others. Whether it captures the minds of casual EA Sports FC 25 players remains to be seen, but it certainly looks like a creative shake-up for a genre thats long been stuck in the mud.CuffbustFormats: PCRelease date: 2025The developer behind viral hit Choo-Choo Charles may strike Twitch gold again with Cuffbust, a multiplayer ruckus where you coordinate a prison breakout as a group of Koala bear-looking aliens, aptly called Jailiens. It looks primed for goofs, with proximity chat and chaotic destructible environments, but there appears to be some strategic depth beneath the hijinks, with the ability to hijack intercoms, dig tunnels with spoons, and even gang up on opposing teams within the same prison. A bewitching mix (Riffraff Games)Sleight Of HandFormats: Xbox Series X/S and PCRelease date: 2025A former witch infiltrates her old coven in this third person stealth noir game where you wield a deck of magical cards. The card abilities echo the tricks of Dishonored, allowing you to set up traps, teleport through smoke, or abduct enemies from afar. The flexibility in its mechanics might be the deciding factor in its success, but this looks to be a homage to espionage at large. Sleight Of Hands lead character, Lady Luck, is voiced by Debi Mae West, who you may know as the voice of Meryl in Metal Gear Solid. The Midnight WalkFormats: PlayStation 5 and PCRelease date: 2025Moonhood Studios, founded by the creators of Lost In Random, is championing claymation horror for its first game. Every asset in The Midnight Walk was first sculpted in clay before being 3D-scanned and animated in a stop-motion style, hence why it looks so unsettlingly tactile. While little is known about the gameplay itself (other than its also compatible with PlayStation VR2), the production alone looks to be a monstrous treat.Baby StepsFormats: PlayStation 5 and PCRelease date: 2025The developers behind the excellent Ape Out have swapped gorillas for unemployed men in their thirties, in this literal walking simulator. You play as Nate, a lazy, disappointing son who suddenly discovers the power to walk, albeit with more than a few stumbles.More TrendingGameplay-wise, it appears to hit comedic beats seen in other games hinged around limb control, but the wit in its presentation might elevate this into something special. More importantly, it could be a breakout moment for the stained grey onesie.Emailgamecentral@metro.co.uk, leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter, andsign-up to our newsletter. To submit Inbox letters and Readers Features more easily, without the need to send an email, just use ourSubmit Stuff page here. For more stories like this, check our Gaming page.GameCentralExclusive analysis, latest releases, and bonus community content. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. Yellow House is situated in a sloped area that is surrounded by a lot of big trees scattered all over the site. The house consists of two main parts. The first is the "inner spaces," composed of highly private functions. And they are surrounded by "outer spaces," which are composed of less private functions. The "outer spaces" are open-air courts that are situated on four sides of the house.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture! This court allows daylight and air into the "inner spaces." All four courts have their own character in terms of scale and dimension, depending on their orientation to maintain the existing trees and slope of the ground. And because of the courts' position, they have their own functions and define the functions of the area around them. Such as:Save this picture! The "Welcome Court," which is located at the front of the house and is +0.30 meters high, so this court acts as a shielded court that slightly hides the inner space (the living room) from the outside. and it also acts as an accessway to the kitchen due to the not-too-high ground level (0.30 meters). The "Inner Court," has a counter and table around it because its ground-level height is 0.70 meters. That height is suitable for making a working table or counter, so functions around it like a dining and working area. The "Pool," which is different from the other court because this court does not have any existing trees at the location, so it is not necessary to keep the land level for keeping any trees. The court is dug 1.10 m for a pool. And this pool also creates functions around it, like a relaxing area and a bath area. The "service court," which is at the same level as the house (0.00), is used as a court that can be easily accessed from inside, so it acts as a service court for support utility and maid rooms around it.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture! In addition, all the courts not only create functions around them but also connect the surrounding area. So, the "outer spaces" are connected to a circular area around the "inner space." The court and its surrounding space are dissolved by daylight and fresh air, which flows from one space to another. In the same way, the view of space is connected by material, which is the "concrete skin".Save this picture!Save this picture!"Concrete Skin" is used to link inside and outside space together due to duration and time reasons. Concrete is cast on top of the brick wall. The concrete skin is strong enough for weathering. So, the exterior and interior walls are all the same when time passes. It makes a connection between inside and outside spaces.Save this picture!Project gallerySee allShow lessAbout this officePublished on January 02, 2025Cite: "Yellow House / JOYS Architects" 01 Jan 2025. Considering the popularity of the racing series--Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best-selling Nintendo Switch game by a wide margin--as well as the budget-friendly prices, we wouldn't be surprised to see some of the sets sell out. While each Mario Kart kit includes at least one buildable figure, only the starter figures can take full advantage of the built-in interactive elements on the Mario Kart vehicles and other accessories. If you're buying Lego Mario Kart kits for play rather than display, you'll probably want at least one of the figures.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Biggest Traditions In The Sonic Series
Any Sonic fan will know all too well that this legendary platforming series has gone through quite a few changes throughout the years. This has especially been the case since the move to 3D, where Sonic Team has experimented with all kinds of gameplay formulas and features to create a brand-new experience for players to enjoy, but that doesn't necessarily mean these games leave everything behind. In fact, it's the exact opposite.

Best Colorless Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket
Among the 372 cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket, only 35 are unique Colorless-Type cards. However, just seven of these cards are worth the grind and should make their way into players decks. The following list ranks these top seven based on gameplay-focused criteria, considering both the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island expansions. It's important to note that this ranking excludes "cards with Colorless moves," meaning Pokemon like Mew ex, which can perform attacks using Colorless Energies, are omitted.

Stop Killing Your Laptop Battery: This Tiny $49 Device Keeps Your Laptop Battery Healthy for Longer
Remember the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fires? The images of scorched devices and charred luggage were enough to put battery safety in the spotlight like never before. It wasnt just a cautionary tale for manufacturers; it was a wake-up call for all of us who casually leave our devices plugged in, trusting everything will work as it should. Lithium-ion batteries are miraculous, sure, but theyre also temperamental when pushed to their limits. From overheating hoverboards to old smartphones that just dont last more than 5 hours on a full battery, the pattern is clear: how we charge matters more than we like to admit.Thats where Chargie steps in, offering a simple, elegant solution to a problem we often ignore. This little device plugs into your laptops charger, quietly regulating how and when your battery charges. With the help of its companion app, it stops overcharging in its tracks and helps reduce the wear and tear that shortens battery life. You know how your old smartphone now needs to be charged twice or sometimes even thrice a day? Chargie prevents that from happening to your laptop.Designer: Ovidiu SandruClick Here to Buy Now: $49 (Global Shipping) Hurry! Only 8 Days Left! You might be thinking, Does my laptop really need this? Well, lets talk about that. Lithium-ion batteries, the lifeblood of almost every laptop, dont do well with extremes. Keep your device plugged in 24/7, and youre essentially running a marathon at a sprint pace. The result? Diminished capacity over time. Chargie steps in like the unsung hero it is, giving you control over how and when your battery charges.Picture this unassuming little device, barely bigger than a USB stick, that plugs right into your charger setup. Its not flashyno blinking lights or over-engineered aesthetics. But behind that minimalist exterior lies some clever, simple tech like a hardware limiter and a Bluetooth Low Energy chip. Paired with its app, Chargie lets you cap your batterys charge at, say, 80%, or schedule charging windows to sync with your day. No more boiling your battery overnight just because you forgot to unplug it.The tech behind Chargie is impressive without being overwhelming. It supports up to 100W of power, so its perfect for everything from a feather-light Chromebook to a powerhouse gaming laptop. And it works across major platforms like Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS. No proprietary nonsense, no weird compatibility issuesits tech that just gets it. Theres also a subtle satisfaction in seeing something so small and simple handle such an annoying problem so effectively. But what I love most is how Chargie reframes how we think about our gadgets. Laptops arent disposable, but we often treat them that way. Every time a battery wears out and needs replacing, its not just annoyingits expensive and wasteful. Chargie isnt going to single-handedly save the planet, but by helping your battery last longer, it reduces the number of batteries ending up in landfills or worse, batteries puffing or blowing up because of overcharging. The Chargie was first launched for smartphones in 2019, and after selling over 50,000 units, designer (and ethical hacker) Ovidiu Sandru received a lot of feedback about how the Chargie would be perfect for larger battery devices like laptops. In essence, the laptop variant of the Chargie works almost exactly like its smartphone variant. The device itself broadly has a hardware limiter and a BLE chip. The app on the laptop tells the Chargie what percentage your device battery is at (via real-time Bluetooth communication), and when it hits the desired level, the hardware limiter cuts power to the laptop. The app is simple, intuitive, and practically foolproof, which means anyone can use it. Available for macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS, it turns the sometimes abstract concept of battery health into a user-friendly experience. You can tweak the charge rate to reduce heat (another silent battery killer), and the app keeps everything running in the background once your preferences are set. Its a kind of set it and forget it solution that feels like it was built for busy lives. No micromanaging required, no steep learning curvejust an app that works as promised. At under $50, Chargie doesnt try to overstay its welcome in your wallet. Its reasonably priced, especially considering the money it might save you down the road in battery replacementsor worse, an entirely new laptop. The device works by being an intermediary between your laptop and the power source. Its perfect if your laptop charges via USB-C (then you can simply plug the laptop charger into the Chargie, and then connect the Chargie to your device), but just in case youre running an older machine, Chargie ships with adapters for barrel-connector laptops like HP and Dell.If youre someone who loves a good gadget that makes life a little easieror if youre tired of your laptop battery betraying you when you need it mostChargie might just be your new best friend. Its small, smart, and doesnt demand much from you, which is probably more than we can say for most of the tech in our lives. At the very least, its one less excuse for your battery woes. At best, its a tiny miracle worker sliding quietly into your life.Click Here to Buy Now: $49 (Global Shipping) Hurry!
