The legality of any executive order outside of a delay to accommodate a sale is unclear. Apple and Google will not want to expose themselves to legal liabilities that could be measured in billions of dollars. They may not restore TikTok to the app stores until the legal situation is clear.What If ByteDance Does Not Sell TikTok?If ByteDance does not sell TikTok, the Act will remain in force unless Congress decides to repeal it.

After the app went dark on Saturday night, TikToks biggest U.S. influencers reacted with a mixture of disappointment and resigned humor as they embarked on their first day without the platform. Some influencers rebounded by using other social media options, primarily Instagram.TikTok star Charli DAmelio, whose online fame has landed her a role on Broadways & Juliet, posted on Instagram reels on Saturday night: Hey reels, how we doing? Were here, she said in the short upload.
