    cgshares.com

Every layer of earth stripped away felt like shedding my past selfmy stress, my addictions, my doubts. My body grew stronger, my mind clearer. Nothing else mattered. No hunger, no sleep. Only the hole. Only the descent. As the smallest project from the solo developer, Cyberwave created A Game About Digging A Hole in just three weeks during their spare time. • This Custom-Made Toilet Asset Has Over 17 Quadrillion Unique Variations
    cgshares.com
Some video games win over fans with engaging gameplay, others carve their names into the annals of gaming history with unforgettable stories that resonate for decades, some go all-in on graphical advancements to deliver stunning visual spectacles unlike anything released before, and then theres Dream Game, a work-in-progress indie project by developer Damp Squid that boasts perhaps the most bizarrely brilliant asset imaginable: a near-endless toilet generator.Forget No Mans Sky with its trillions of planets or Minecraft, where each world is roughly 24 times the size of Earths landmass for Dream Game, the developer has set up a special Unreal Engine 5-powered toilet generator capable of producing more than 17 quadrillion unique variations, an effectively infinite number as far as humans are concerned. When generating a toilet, the system blends various parameters, including part visibility, seat positions, decals, tint, and putting it mildly the contents, resulting in a staggering 17.23 quadrillion combinations. For context, Dream Game is designed as a backrooms-inspired exploration experience featuring environments like bathrooms, a school, tunnels, and a dark road, so the purpose of this peculiar system is to make sure that each bathroom environment stands out from the others at least in some ways.To hammer home just how big of a number 17 quadrillion is, the developer provided some fascinating comparisons:If I put 100 of them in my level, theres a 0.0000000000287% chance two of them will be the same. Thats about 100,000 times less likely than winning the Powerball jackpot 10 times in a row. And about 250 billion times less likely than an asteroid impact ending civilization! In quantum mechanics, theres a nonzero probability of all the atoms in your body spontaneously shifting to the other side of a wall. The odds of this happening even once in the entire age of the universe are still far greater than my toilets duplicating. The previous iteration of Damp Squids asset featured a measly 1,728 combinations:Learn more about Dream Game here and dont forget to join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post This Custom-Made Toilet Asset Has Over 17 Quadrillion Unique Variations appeared first on CG SHARES.

  • The Last Of Us Actor Kaitlyn Dever Shuts Down Off-Screen Rumor About Season 2
    www.gamespot.com
Kaitlyn Dever joins the cast for HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 in the critical role of Abby. She's now discussed the upcoming season, saying she hopes to "do the character justice" and make fans happy. She also talked about stepping into a role in an established franchise with a devoted fanbase, which is something new for her. Beyond that, Dever shot down an off-screen rumor about needing extra security during the production of Season 2."Moving forward and being a part of such a big and very, very loved franchise, it is something that I haven't ever done before, and I'm learning every day just how to move forward in this new world that is the Last of Us fandom," she told Variety. "I think it is always hard stepping into that, especially because it's already had its [first] season and Im the newbie to the world. But I think that I'm almost treating it and approaching it like I do with everything, which is just wanting to come at it with authenticity and honesty and trying to be as organic as I can when approaching the role and bringing my own sort of energy to it, if that makes sense. I want to do the character justice, and I hope that people enjoy what I do with that." Also in the interview, Dever pushed back against a rumor that was making the rounds in 2024. Her The Last of Us co-star Isabela Merced, who plays Dina, said Dever needed extra security due to the polarizing nature of Abby. Dever said this is simply not true. "Well, firstly, I have to say, actually, that's not true, and I didn't ever personally say that. I know that was said a while ago, and it is not true," she said.Continue Reading at GameSpot

  • Phasmophobias 2025 roadmap includes a new map
    www.polygon.com
Phasmophobia, the wildly popular co-op ghost hunting game, has been blowing up on Twitch since at least 2020, and developers Kinetic Games said Monday that its sold more than 22 million copies so far. In 2025, the team has a jam-packed developmental roadmap, including plans for an updated look for its famously nondescript player character models. Heres what we know about the updates and upgrades slated for later this year, which were detailed Monday in a news release. The first major update for Phasmaphobia this year is called the Chronicle update, and it was detailed previously in a developer blog post. Kinetic says it will revamp how players gather evidence things like spectral temperature fluctuations and eerie sounds, which will now be archived for the first time. To that end, the Chronicle update will replace the Photos tab with a Media tab. It should be especially handy if, in the midst of a particularly hectic haunting, one of your friends was busy wailing, arguing, or otherwise audibly panicking.Developers said there will be more nuance to data collection as well. The first capture of any media type will be marked as Unique, and will come with big rewards at the end of a contract. Duplicate pieces of media will reward much less, which encourages players to try different tools to create a wide portfolio of different pieces of evidence.Sometime after the Chronicle update comes the Player Character Overhaul. Currently, players can only pick one of a handful of avatars, none of which has a ton of personality. The road map shows a figure wearing different shirts, which could mean players will be able to customize their threads and swap outfits between contracts. It would be a welcome change to the current status quo, which has everyone wearing plain button-down shirts and other simple, sensible, forgettable clothes.Later in the year, Kinetic also said it would be releasing a brand new map. It will be small, they said, akin to the houses that already exist in the game. Additional changes will be made to existing maps. Specifically, the Bleasdale and Grafton Farmhouses will get major updates, overhauling the layout and creating new rooms for ghosts to haunt. There are also teases of holiday updates for Easter and Halloween, and even some 2026 features, including one thing called Horror 2.0 that certainly piques my interest.
