They can be added to the iPhone and iPad Home Screen. To do this, simply enter the Home Screen editing mode by tapping and holding on a widget or an empty area. Then tap the Edit and Add Widget button. The widgets are automatically updated every morning with data collected while you sleep. • Tesla Owners Receiving Threats That If They Don't Sell Their Cars, They'll Be Vandalized
    futurism.com
The situation is heating up.Tesla SpoilAs Tesla CEO Elon Musk makes good on his promise to cut up the federal government, Tesla owners are feeling the heat.Tesla owners throughout four California cities found a series of anonymous notes left on their EVs, declaring that any vehicles not sold by February 12 will be vandalized. Some of the notes, pointedly, were wrapped around bricks."No Nazis in America," the notes read. "Tesla owners buy or sell by Feb 12 (Lincoln B-day) after that it is open season."The threats appear to come from Students Against Nazi Extremism (SANE), a small direct-action group apparently organized around California State University campuses, according to reporting by Lost Coast Outpost, who received a mailed note from the group.Outpost reports that SANE's stated goal is to "create enough shame to make it onerous for anyone to buy or operate a Tesla-branded vehicle.Though February 12 has come and gone, police have yet to report any incidents of vandalism in SANE's target cities but that doesn't mean they're not happening elsewhere. The threats come amidst a growing international outcry against Musk's Oval Office chauvinism, which has resulted in a wave of vandalism of Tesla vehicles and a slump in sales for the company's EVs throughout the US and the world. But the problem with Musk goes beyond his oligarchic tendencies. The richest man in the world has swung far to the right lately, throwing his weight behind neo-Nazi accounts, performing fascist salutes, and appearing at far-right German rallies fueling a growing stigma associated with those who've purchased his products in the past.(It's probably worth a moment of sympathy for Tesla owners, who even just a few years ago, before Musk's increasingly bizarre behavior started in earnest, could justifiably believe they were buying into a milquetoast vision of progressive environmentalism.)In the Netherlands last week, a Tesla showroom was hit with vandalism depicting Nazi imagery. Earlier, protestors projected an image of Musk's dubious salute onto the Tesla Gigafactory in Germany. In the US, protestors in Colorado incurred the wrath of the FBI when they vandalized a Tesla showroom, going so far as to try to set it ablaze.Cybertrucks have likewise become easy targets for graffiti, and Tesla is apparently ramping up its efforts to protect EV charging ports from a wave of vandalism.Had Musk stuck to profiteering in the domain of business, Tesla drivers might be able to sleep a little easier. Unfortunately for them, he's gone on a federal power bender mixed with a heavy dose of far-right rhetoric and it looks like he's just getting started.Share This Article

That means its time to do the one thing Marvel fans like more than actually watching Marvel movies: Speculating about what future Marvel movies might look like.Depending on how youqualify things was Doctor Strange technically a member of the Avengers inInfinity War or just a guy who happened to go into space with Tony Stark? Avengers: Infinity War had a core Avengers cast of around a dozen heroes. So that was basically the guideline we set for ourselves here: Pick roughly a dozencharacters who could comprise the next generation of Earths Mightiest Heroes.ScreenCrushs choices arelisted below, roughly in order of likeliness. It would take an act of Galactus to keep the first few names out ofAvengers: Doomsday, but as you get toward the bottom, you enter the realm of educated guesswork. • Grab the Chance to See Six Planets in a Spectacular Planet Parade This Weekend
    www.cnet.com
2025 is starting off with a bang for skygazers, with a planet parade now visible in the night sky. A planet parade is when several of our solar system's planets are visible in the night sky at the same time. There will be six planets visible this time around, including Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus. The six planets are visible now, and will remain so until late February. Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn should be visible to the naked eye. You'll need a high-powered viewing device like a telescope to spot Neptune and Uranus. The best time to view the planets from the Northern Hemisphere will be just after sunset at around 8:30 p.m. local time. You still might be able to catch Venus, Saturn and Neptune on the horizon after that, but all three planets will be under the horizon by 11:30 p.m. to midnight depending on your location. After that, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus will remain visible for a few more hours with Mars finally setting just before sunrise.Unlikeprior parades, this one is set to last quite a while since the planets are in advantageous spots in the sky. You should be able to see all six planets nightly until the last week or so of February. After that, a seven-planet parade will begin as Mercury will briefly join the others in the sky for a couple of days, turning this into a planetary parade of all seven planets in our solar system other than Earth. It will be difficult to see them all since Saturn, Mercury and Neptune will be quite close to the sun right at sunset, but they will be there.By the time March gets underway, Mercury, Saturn and Neptune will have drifted too close to the sun to be readily visible with Venus not far behind, leaving Jupiter, Mars and Uranus to populate the night sky until the next parade begins. Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus will be in the southeastern sky while Neptune, Venus, and Saturn will occupy the southwestern sky at approximately 9:30 p.m. local time. StellariumWill my region see the planet parade? Upgrade your inbox Get cnet insider From talking fridges to iPhones, our experts are here to help make the world a little less complicated. Most, if not all, locations in the US, Canada and Mexico should be able to see the planetary parade this time around thanks to its long length and limited planetary movement. We checked observatories in California, Texas, Ohio and New York in the US, along with Calgary in Canada and Mexico City, Mexico. We were able to find all six planets at each location, so it doesn't matter how far north, east, west or south you go, you'll be able to see it.In general, the best time to view the planet parade will be before Feb. 21.Read more: Full Moons Explained, From Blue Moons to Supermoons to Lunar PhasesYou won't have to wait long for all six planets to be in the sky. They'll be there as soon as the sun sets. Once it's dark, you'll only have a couple of hours to view them before Venus, Saturn and Neptune dip below the horizon for the evening. This applies regardless of location, so no matter where you are, everything's happening at around the same time.During the last few days of February, Mercury will make its appearance and the parade will increase to seven planets. This will be best viewed right at sunset and will be more difficult to see while the sun is still on the horizon. Will I need any special equipment to view the parade?Technically yes. You'll be able to spot Venus, Mars, Jupiter and potentially Saturn with the naked eye in opportune conditions. However, Neptune and Uranus are simply too far away to spot. Astronomers note that you'll likely need a telescope with at least an 8-inch aperture at 50 times magnification to see Uranus and its rings, and 150 times magnification to see Neptune and its rings. If you're so equipped, give that telescope a point at Saturn. At 25 times magnification, you'll be able to see the crown jewel of our solar system in all its glory.Standard space viewing rules also apply here. You'll want to get away from the city, where light pollution can obfuscate your view. Even the suburbs may not be far enough away for many folks. If you're planning a long drive out of the city and its surroundings, you'll want to make sure it's a clear night with as little cloud cover as possible. If you're headed out to see all seven planets at the end of February, you'll have a particularly difficult task ahead of you as a few of the planets will be fairly close to the sun. You may want to invest in UV protection for your eyes and be particularly careful about where you point your telescope. How can I find the planets in the sky?Given that Neptune and Uranus are particularly hard to find paired with the fact that Saturn and Venus will be right next to each other, there may be some difficulty in finding all six planets in the sky. For this, there are a few good tools available. Check out Stellarium's website, along with Time and Date's Night Sky Map. Those should give you a good idea of where each planet is in relation to the others. Star Walk 2 is an excellent app on Android and iOS. Stellarium has its own Android and iOS apps as well. What is a planetary parade?A planetary parade is a colloquial term that applies when four or more planets line up in the night sky at once. It's not an official astronomy term so you'll rarely hear astronomers use it. However, NASA has been known to refer to the phenomenon as a "parade of planets."The official term is planetary alignment, although that term tends to seed a little bit of confusion. Some interpretations of the phrase include the planets lining up on the same side of the sun all right next to each other. The planets can never fully line up exactly like you see in pictures, but they can all be on the same side of the sun and relatively close to lining up. In day-to-day use, though, planetary parades and alignments are the same thing and simply describe when there are several planets visible in the night sky at the same time. These planets may be nowhere near each other in their solar orbits but are visible from the perspective of Earth.

  • Duolingo Is Selling a Coffin for Dead Mascot Duo the Owl
    www.cnet.com
Duo the owl, the mascot of the Duolingo language-learning app, was recently killed off by the company. And now, you can buy him in a coffin. After the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, Duo cheerfully mocked the (metaphorical) death of rapper Drake during Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl performance, posting a crude animation with the caption, "drake after attending his own funeral on national tv." But two days later, it was the green cartoon owl who ended up dead, murdered by Duolingo's marketing team. After the announcement, the company advertised the sale of Duo plushies in coffin-shaped boxes, writing "All Duo Plushie purchases come with a free, limited edition memorial coffin box, while supplies last."A video showed Duolingo's other language-helper characters also in coffin-shaped boxes and with Xs for eyes. But a spokesperson for Duolingo told CNET in an email that there's no official "dead" version of the Duo plushie, or of his friends."The designs you've seen on social media are just part of the fun storytelling around Duo's demise," the spokesperson said. But the Duo plushie, the coffin-shaped box, and an enamel pin showing Duo with X-ed out eyes, are all really for sale.In a mock-somber social-media post, the language app company announced Duo's death, writing, "Authorities are currently investigating his cause of death and we are cooperating fully. Tbh, he probably died waiting for you to do your lesson, but what do we know." The post, which appeared on multiple platforms, mentioned that Duo, "Formally known as The Duolingo Owl," had "many enemies." Duolingo then posted a memorial, referring to the mascot as Duo Keyshauna Renee Lingo. "In lieu of flowers, please do a Duolingo lesson," the company wrote. A TikTok video showed other mascots transporting a coffin containing the owl onto a pickup truck. In another post, Duolingo said, "UPDATE: Officials have identified cause of death. More details to follow. Thank you for holding space for Dualingo." Hours later, Duolingo didn't reveal a culprit, but did show the manner of death: In a video, Duo is hit by a Tesla Cybertruck after a warning that the content may be sensitive to some owls. The dead mascot floats through the cosmos and past a scary set of gates (do mascots go to hell?). In a caption, the company said, "Reward for whoever can identity the driver." Read more:Best Language Learning Apps for 2025The blitz of posts drew attention from internet meme-makers, who speculated on how the death came to be, and brands including Baskin Robbins and Cheez-Itsas well as the game Halo and streamer Netflix acknowledged the fictional passing, the latter with a Squid Game tie-in. The Monster Hunter game franchise tried to take credit for the death in its own post. Perhaps most bizarrely (or sweetly, depending on your point of view), pop star Dua Lipa posted: "Til' death duo part" with a broken-heart emoji. Dua Lipa previously appeared in a video with the mascot and was, in this fictional narrative, perhaps dating the owl. In the death notice, Duolingo wrote, "We appreciate you respecting Dua Lipa's privacy at this time." While the online world awaits answers for what caused Duo's death (besides priceless marketing attention), the parts of the internet in on the joke will continue to mourn while others ask, in owl-like fashion: "Who?" In 2020, another brandfamously killed off its mascot: Mr. Peanut was roasted by Planters in an ad that ran before that year's Super Bowl. Mr. Peanut's death didn't last long, however; he wasresurrected as a baby nutin an ad that ran during the game. Watch this: Barn owl vs. DJI drone: Which is the ultimate flyer? 02:04

  • Okami sequel announcement had Hideki Kamiya "crying with the fans"
    www.eurogamer.net
Okami sequel announcement had Hideki Kamiya "crying with the fans"Will continue Amaterasu's story.Image credit: Capcom News by Ed Nightingale Deputy News Editor Published on Feb. 14, 2025 The Okami sequel will be a continuation of Amaterasu's story developed in Capcom's RE Engine, it's been confirmed. In an interview with IGN, director Hideki Kamiya, Capcom producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, and Machine Head Works studio head Kiyohiko Sakata discussed the early-in-development sequel first revealed at last year's The Game Awards.Hirabayashi admitted Capcom had "always wanted to create an Okami sequel" because the IP was "something that we all love and we wanted to see it continued". With Kamiya leaving PlatinumGames in 2023, now was the time to discuss a sequel.Okami sequel - Project Teaser TrailerWatch on YouTubeKamiya also always wanted to create a sequel. "Thinking back to about 19 years ago when I first created the game, you have to remember that the story itself isn't really complete, and I always wanted to complete this game," he said. "But of course, as I was in Platinum, I couldn't do that. But even back then, I was often meeting with my friends, specifically with Takeuchi, and going out drinking. And we always talked casually about one day being able to do it. Then I ended up leaving Platinum. So now as a creator, I'll be able to actually make this come true now with Takeuchi."In a video with Ikumi Nakamura last year, Kamiya noted that Okami was a "huge failure" commercially, though he admitted "for us who made it, it turned out something we can be proud of". Why, then, is he making a sequel now?Hirabayashi noted there are "millions of fans out there that we know", due to sales of the game remaining a steady stream over time due to various re-releases.Kamiya detailed further: "So in the beginning for Clover, we perhaps saw that from a development perspective that it might not reach users in such a wide area as we were planning. But moving on throughout the years, we released later versions that people enjoyed. Since then, weve received messages on social media of people enjoying the game, and we're realizing that people are liking Ōkami a lot."Now with the announcement at TGA, being there live within the audience and hearing people react there, and not only that, but also seeing people reacting on social channels after, there are so many people waiting for this title. And I was very surprised and happier than I thought I would be to hear people so looking forward to this game."Even now, I look up the YouTube reactions to the announcements and looking at the people reacting to the video, and I find myself crying with the fans. And I'm just so happy to see that, oh, people are so happy to see this game come true."He added fan reaction spurred him on. "And so, with everyone cheering on and our desire to create, it was that that led us to the actualisation of this project. So without everyone's voices out there, without everyone cheering us on, we wouldn't have moved forward with this. So thank you so much." Okami sequel artwork | Image credit: CloversWhat can we expect from the sequel? Hirabayashi confirmed it's Amaterasu in the teaser trailer and the game will be a continuation of the story in the original game.Added Kamiya: "I do have a general idea of a big theme and the idea of the story, and it is in my head. It's been building in my head for several years now, and it's something that I really want to be able to get my hands on and work and visualise to get to the fans. And I have a detailed idea on how I want this game to turn out."The pair also confirmed it's being developed in the RE Engine, used in Capcom's Resident Evil games, as well as Devil May Cry 5, Street Fighter 6, and Monster Hunter games.Hirabayashi believes that "without RE Engine at this point we wouldn't be able to realise Kamiya-san's artistic dreams for this project", while Kamiya noted how the engine is "famous for showing the best of the games" and is "very, very good expressively".Sakata also discussed how the hand-drawn style of the original was hard to achieve back on the PS2. "With today's technology, we are able to achieve all of this that we were trying to achieve back in the days and perhaps even greater now, now than what we have the RE Engine as well working with us," he said.Still, the Okami sequel is very early in development with no release information yet."We will not give up quality for speed, but do know that we will not drag our feet for this title," said Hirabayashi. "It's something that we will put our efforts into."

  • Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Recorded a Collaborative Album at His Cozy LA Pad
    www.architecturaldigest.com
Though they havent tied the knot just yet, it seems Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are already living in marital bliss at Blancos Los Angeles residence. For Interviews March cover story, the engaged couple divulged sweet details of their cozy home life, from meal prepping to making music together at the 1930s dwelling, which Blanco bought in 2019. The duo even recorded a collaborative album about their relationship in one of the upstairs bedrooms, called I Said I Love You First, which is scheduled for a March 21 release. (For the record, it was Gomez who first said the L-word, according to the interview.)Gomez and Blanco made sure to keep the musical project low-pressure, retreating to the laidback recording space whenever inspiration struck. So many times it was so hodgepodge. It was like two hours here, two hours there, Blanco told the outlet. Id never worked that way with someone. Usually I work that way if Im by myself, but it was so cool to be able to do that with her. The process was so low-key that on occasion Gomez would recline on a bed while recording. Normally Im on this little chair and I have a thousand blankets on me, she explained. I loved it. It felt very easy.Aside from their creative pursuits, the pair revealed the ins and outs of their daily routines at the eclectic space, which Blanco referred to as a dinner party house during a tour with AD last year. Both of them are early risers. Were having a full breakfast by 6 in the morning, Blanco said. The producer, who is also a cookbook author, makes Gomezs favorites at home. Ill prep all sorts of things that I know she likes and then I freeze them. Whats on the menu? Gomezs typical breakfast is a burrito and a red bull. As for Blanco: He eats egg whites with peppers and hot sauce. Hes so healthy, Gomez said.In the evenings, the homebodies often have friends over for dinner and game nights. When theyre not hosting, the two can be found listening to records, or doing something that they call sitting soft. Describing his ideal evening, Blanco said I want to drink wine and cocktails and eat delicious shrimp tempura together . I want to sit soft and just relax and play games and laugh. Then, its early to bed for Gomez, who typically likes to turn in between 8:00 and 8:30 pm with one of three TV shows playing in the background. Its How I Met Your Mother, Friends, and Will and Grace. It is just comfort, purely, Gomez said. • SailPoints dull debut did little to loosen the stuck IPO window, expert says
    techcrunch.com
SailPoints IPO on Thursday was a disappointment for anyone hoping it would indicate that tech IPOs are hot again. The first days trading ended below the $23 initial price. The stock fared a tad better Friday, closing at over $24. But thats nothing close to the big bang companies and VCs hope for.For instance, ServiceTitan, the last tech IPO in December, was wildly successful. Share price popped from $71 to as high as $105 on Day 1, and is still currently trading at around $100.Back-to-back successes would have served as a signal that the painfully stuck-closed IPO window is opening at last.Instead, retail investors are exercising discernment, not wild enthusiasm.Im hesitant to draw too many conclusions on the appetite for tech or software IPOs from it, IPO expert Nick Einhorn, VP of research for Renaissance Capital, tells TechCrunch. While the company has good growth, it may not have stood out enough in the cybersecurity landscape to be awarded a premium sales multiple.Renaissance Capital is an IPO market research firm that also offers an IPO exchange-traded fund (ETF).SailPoint was a bit of an odd IPO because it wasnt a startup. It was previously a public company until PE firm Thoma Bravo took it private in 2022, valuing it at $6.9 billion at the time. The private equity giant is still the majority owner. This was a leveraged-buyout company as an IPO, not a classic venture backed startup. VC-backed startups going public often have the kind of growth potential that excites investors, as was the case with ServiceTitan. On the positive side for SailPoint, the company priced its initial 60 million shares at $23, above its previously announced range of $19 and $21. SailPoint raked in over $1.3 billion, which it will use for operations and to pay off about $1.5 billion of debt it showed on its books, according to a regulatory filing. Its also at about a $13 billion market cap, a boost from what Thoma Bravo paid.In no way did we consider this a disappointing IPO. We went from mid-point of $20to a close of $25 on Day 2. In our minds, its a very successful IPO, CEO Mark McClain told TechCrunch.Still, the upshot for those looking for a sign that IPOs could be flowing again soon (especially employees of late-stage startups looking at their paper-money stock and stock options): the signals remain murky.
