• Ubisoft Confident In March 20th Release Of Assassins Creed Shadows
    cgshares.com
Last year definitely wasnt easy for Ubisoft, with a series of setbacks and games that didnt resonate as hoped. As the companys latest financial report reflects the tough period its going through, there are concerns that 2025 might bring additional studio closures and layoffs, and many see Assassins Creed Shadows as its final opportunity for a comeback. The games development and repeated release delays have raised concerns, however, during Ubisofts Q3 2025 earnings call, CEO Yves Guillemot reassured that that pre-orders for Assassins Creed Shadows are tracking solidly, in line with those of Assassins Creed Odyssey, the second most successful entry of the franchise. According to Tom Hendersons sources, the publisher is confident Assassins Creed Shadows will launch on March 20, 2025, and developers working on the game have also expressed confidence in meeting the release date, with one source mentioning that the game is pretty much done.According to the sources, Shadows currently has around 300,000 pre-orders. In comparison, Assassins Creed Odyssey had 400-450,000 players on day one, meaning theres a gap of 100,000 to 150,000 that must be closed in the next four weeks. In contrast, its said that Star Wars Outlaws, a game that underperformed according to Ubisofts expectations, had less than half the number of pre-orders Shadows had gathered at this stage before launch. Are you planning to buy Assassins Creed Shadows? • Overwatch 2 Battle Pass Season 15: All Skins, Emotes, And Rewards
    www.gamespot.com
Overwatch 2 Season 15 marks a new beginning for the hero shooter, adding a new perk system and bringing back loot boxes. It also marks a ranked reset with the new gameplay features. Naturally, Season 15 also adds a new battle pass to the game, although this one is lacking a cohesive theme thanks to this season being more focused on gameplay changes than new cosmetic content. The new season also marks a new year of ranked play, which means you can now earn competitive points to unlock the Galactic weapon skins for heroes, which can only be obtained by playing competitive matches. One of the biggest changes to the battle pass as part of Season 15 is the inclusion of loot boxes in the battle pass. Loot boxes cannot be purchased directly, but there are a few in the battle pass and as rewards for challenges. In the battle pass, there are three legendary loot boxes, two of which are part of the premium pass. These offer a guaranteed legendary item each, while normal loot boxes only offer a slim chance of getting such an item. The battle pass also has plenty of other cosmetics, like emotes, highlight intros, victory poses, and name cards to unlock in both the free and premium versions. The premium battle pass includes a few legendary skins, like Rainy Day Kiriko, Goumang Hanzo, Cyber Enforcer Zarya, and Toxic Venture, along with a few Epic skins as well. There are also Mythic shards, which can be used to get the new Pixiu Mythic Zenyatta skin, or previously released Mythic skins and guns, like the Lead Rose Mythic Ashe gun skin. The premium version of the battle pass costs 1,000 Overwatch coins (about $10), but there is also a bundle for $40, which includes two exclusive legendary skins, the premium battle pass, 20 tier skips, and 2,000 Overwatch coins (about $20).

  • Why AC Shadows' AI Overhaul Might Be a Game-Changer
    gamerant.com
There is certainly a lot riding on Assassin's Creed Shadows, especially after all that it and Ubisoft have been through lately. In a nutshell, it really needs to get as much right as it can, lest it risk reinforcing the subjective stain that has darkened its legacy as of late. In its attempts to accomplish this, Assassin's Creed Shadows is implementing a variety of changes to the franchise's longstanding formula to try and make the latest entry the best the series has ever been. One of its most significant fundamental changes involves a considerable AI overhaul that might not only change Assassin's Creed Shadows, but it may also set the tone for the series moving forward.

  • Magics first batch of Final Fantasy cards are here, and they look amazing
    www.polygon.com
Its a year of change for Magic: The Gathering in 2025, as the beloved brand makes a seismic shift in how it delivers its unique narrative beats to its most devoted fans. There will only be three Magic Multiverse-themed sets each year going forward, down from four. Filling the gap is the wildly popular Universes Beyond initiative, which will get three sets of its own for a total of six each year. Best of all is the fact that publisher Wizards of the Coast is coming out swinging with an entire set inspired by Final Fantasy.Titled Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy, according to a news release it will include the largest collection of Final Fantasy artwork ever in a single game, drawing from across the franchise. That means everyone from a fan who cut their teeth on the Super Nintendo to folks grinding away today at Final Fantasy 14 should be able to find something that they recognize. For fans of Magic gameplay, this Standard-legal set features some interesting new mechanics as well. First up are Saga Creatures, a first of its kind implementation of the Saga mechanic first introduced in 2018 with Dominaria. These multi-phase cards represent creatures that evolve over time, adding new abilities as they increase in power.Double-faced cards are also making a return in the new Final Fantasy set. According to Tuesdays announcement, these cards will feature characters, minigames, story moments, and more in the set.Classic Final Fantasy characters will also make an appearance in the set, including on 55 collectible borderless cards. Expect more information throughout the week as Wizards celebrates the MagicCon fan convention in Chicago beginning Feb. 21. Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy will be released widely on June 13.

  • Three Easy Steps I Use to Roast Basically Any Vegetable
    lifehacker.com
Roasted vegetables are one of the simple pleasures in life. There's barely any preparation, their unique flavors become sweet and concentrated, and you're rewarded with a symphony of texturescrispy, chewy, juicy, and fluffy. Its a great example of food that can actually be healthy and taste delicious, and you dont have to be a trained chef to make them perfectly. The key is: Dont complicate it. I have the most success using this simple treatment. Two things signal roasted veggie perfection: charred spots and wrinkles. While these might be descriptors for something ugly, dont be fooled. The well-browned areas signal delicious complexity of flavor, due to the Maillard reaction, and the wrinkles signal the veggie in question expanded with steam while cooking through, and now has a soft interior and crispy exterior. All you need is high heat, a bit of oil, and a generous sprinkle of salt. I usually assemble a mlange of three to five different veggies on one sheet pan, but you can certainly roast just a single type of vegetable instead.Trim and prepare your vegetables If you're using broccoli, maybe you cut the florets from the woody stalk. If you've chosen tomatoes or small pepper, then maybe you halve them or you leave them whole. The most important thing to do is keep the size consistent so all of the pieces cook at the same rate. I like to roast big chunky vegetables, so Ill prepare them to be inch-and-a-half rounds or hunks.Add fat and salt Credit: Allie Chanthorn Reinmann I put all of the vegetables in a large mixing bowl, and drizzle about a tablespoon of neutral cooking oil over them (canola or corn oil is fine). Toss about a half teaspoon of salt into the bowl. Using your hands, start to toss the vegetables, scooping the bottom ones up to the top. Every time you scoop, squish and rub the veggie pieces to make sure everything is well coated in oil and salt.Roast the veggies Credit: Allie Chanthorn Reinmann Dump the contents of the bowl onto a foil-lined or unlined baking sheet. The arrangement doesnt matter too much, but if I have any veggies with a skinlike halved potatoes or zucchiniI arrange them skin-side down so theyre less likely to stick to the pan.Pop the pan into a 400F oven. Depending on the vegetable and its size, theyll roast for 10 to 40 minutes. For large cuts, root vegetables, mushrooms, or squash, cook them for an initial 20 minutes. Then give the pan a shake, check on things, and bake for another 10 to 20 minutes, or until youre satisfied with the color.Timing differs, but there's wiggle roomWhen timing roasted vegetables, practice makes perfect. Green beans might only take 12 minutes while broccoli needs a bit longer, and cauliflower longer still. When in doubt, just stick around and dont be afraid to check their status, especially with root vegetables. You can always slice a tester to make sure its cooked through.Let the vegetables cool on the pan out of the oven for five to 10 minutes. This gives them time to deflate and emit some steam which will help loosen any stuck ones from the pan. Arrange them on your plates and serve. If youre wondering whether its possible to roast vegetables in an air fryer, it is, and you should. Its the same preparation method, but keep in mind that youre limited by the size of your air fryeryou might have to work in batches if youre cooking for a large group.

  • The Right Way to Clean Every Part of Your Peloton
    lifehacker.com
We may earn a commission from links on this page.I teach a handful of cycling classes every week, and after each one, I grab a spray bottle of cleaner and a paper towel from the back of the studio and give my stationary bike a wipe-down. It only makes sense: The whole point of being on it is to get all sweaty and gross, and it's inevitable some of that sweat will wind up on the bike. I have no idea what's in the bottle of cleaner, as I trust the gym's cleaning team to provide me with the right tools to keep the equipment in good shape. But when it comes to my Peloton at home, I am the cleaning team, which means I have to be much more on top of things. Here's what I've learned about how to clean every part of the machine after four years of ownership. Clean your Peloton after every rideFirst, keep a microfiber cloth or roll of Clorox wipes nearby so as soon as you dismount, you can wipe down your seat and handlebars. There isn't a ton of space on the bike itself to hang a cloth, and it's my duty as a spin teacher to gently suggest you not hang it off your handlebar when you ride, lest you go to grab the bar, accidentally yank the towel off, and lose your grip. (I don't let people in my classes cover their handlebars with sweat towels for this reason.) I keep a jumbo roll of pre-moistened Clorox wipes on hand and use those on the metal components, seat, and handlebars as soon as I finish a session. It works great. If you own a Peloton, you're probably already tired of spending extra money to buy accessories for it, but consider picking up a simple peel-and-stick hook for a nearby wall or even a shoe hanger designed to dangle off the bike itself and stashing your microfiber cloth there for easy post-ride access. Whether it makes more sense for you to use a rag or wipes, as long as you're wiping it down after each session, you're doing enough to keep it from getting too grimy between more serious cleanings.Do an occasional deeper cleanAbout once a month, I dampen a rag and use a dot of dish soap, then wipe down the whole bike, minus any of the electrical components, including the outlet cord powering the bike and the wires connected to the screen (which I just wipe down with a dry microfiber cloth). Scrub the base, wheels, various adjuster handles, and everything else, then go back over it with a dry cloth. Peloton's website suggests using baby wipes for this, but a damp towel works just as well. Notably, I tried to move my seat the other night and found that my adjuster handle was stuck. There could be two causes: It's been way too long since I cleaned it and that thing got sticky and nasty or I used too wet of a rag last time and it got gummy with dried soap. Either way, that's not good for the bike I spent so much on, nor is it good for me to have to deal with. Today, I cleaned it with a dampbut not soakedsoapy cloth, making sure to get in every nook and cranny. Then, I went over it with a dry cloth to make sure no soap remained behind. Wipe in all the nooks and crannies, like the adjustor handles. Credit: Lindsey Ellefson Take care with the screenTo clean the screen, Peloton recommends first holding down the red button on top until it powers down, then using an ammonia-free cleaner designed for use on LCD, plasma, or other flatscreen, and wiping with a microfiber cloth. Windex is a suitable option, and that's what I use once a month, or when the screen is visibly covered in dust, dry sweat, or whatever else. When powered off, the screen is incredibly reflective and difficult to photograph, so forgive me, but in the photo below you can see the improvement made with just one pass of Windex. A little before-and-after action with the Windex Credit: Lindsey Ellefson Other Peloton cleaning recommendationsIf you're feeling uneasy about using your existing cleaning products on the bike, consider investing in some designed for use on workout equipment. Wipex comes recommended by users on Reddit and is an affordable option that can ease your worries about what you're slopping all over your $1,500 device.During your monthly-or-so deeper clean, don't forget about the mat you have probably placed under the machinewipe that down with a damp rag and a dab of dish soap or the Wipex cloths too. Finally, you should also be cleaning and deodorizing your shoes. Because the Peloton has no straps that enable you to wear regular athletic shoes, like most bikes at studios do, you have to ride using specialty cycling shoes. That's an annoying added expense, but it can also cause some stink, since those shoes are only used for sweaty activities and never get to leave the house and feel a nice breeze. Wipe down the exterior with your Wipex, Clorox, or soapy cloth, but to deodorize the interior, sprinkle some baking soda and leave them overnight before vacuuming and wiping it out. Full disclosure: I don't do that because I leave mine clipped to the pedals at all times and irrationally hate clipping and unclipping them. As a result, they're always hanging upside-down when not in use, so baking soda will fall right out. I spray the interior of mine with a mix of half vinegar, half water, then let them air dry for a day. It works great. Spritz the inside of your cycling shoes to keep them odor-free, please. • All of Humane's AI pins will stop working in 10 days
    www.engadget.com
AI hardware startup Humane has given its users just ten (10!) days notice that their Pins will be disconnected. In a note to its customers, the company said AI Pins will continue to function normally until 12PM PT on February 28. On that date, users will lose access to essentially all of their devices features, including but not limited to calling, messaging, AI queries and cloud access. The FAQ does note that you'll still be able to check on your battery life, though.Humane is encouraging its users to download any stored data before February 28, as it plans on permanently deleting all remaining customer data at the same time as switching its servers off.The company says it will refund customers who are still within the 90-day return window, so long as they submit by February 27. It also notes that users who opted to wait for a replacement for the devices combo fire hazard and Charge Case will now be refunded the portion of [their] original purchase price that was allocated to the Charge Case. In the original recall note, that amount was $149 if ordered separately or $129 if ordered as part of the Complete System bundle.Todays discontinuation announcement was brought about by the acquisition of Humane by HP, which is buying the companys intellectual property for $116 million but clearly has no interest in its current hardware business. The AI Pin was famously panned at launch by a broad section of reviewers, including our own Cherlynn Low, who called it the solution to none of technologys problems.HP says the acquisition will bring Humane's "engineers, architects and product innovators" to a new team called HP IQ, which it describes as an "AI innovation lab focused on building an intelligent ecosystem across HPs products and services for the future of work." Good luck with that! The New York Times reported last June that Humane was seeking a $1 billion buyout after only receiving 10,000 orders, and cited HP as an interested company. Another seven months of reality has apparently persuaded Humanes founders to settle for a far lower figure. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/ai/all-of-humanes-ai-pins-will-stop-working-in-10-days-225643798.html?src=rss
