Pakistan Unveils (Fr)Agile Systems) Pavilion for the 2025 Venice Architecture BiennaleSave this picture!Spazio 996/A. Image Venice Biennale 2025Pakistan has unveiled its national pavilion for the 19th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, set to take place from May 10 to November 23, 2025, in Venice, Italy. Titled (Fr)Agile Systems), the pavilion explores the dual nature of resilience and vulnerability in the face of climate change, using Pakistan's rich geological and cultural heritage as a lens to examine global environmental inequities. Through a striking installation featuring rock salt, a material shaped by time yet susceptible to change, the pavilion challenges dominant narratives of climate adaptation, advocating for localized, nature-based solutions rather than one-size-fits-all approaches. At the core of (Fr)Agile Systems) is rock salt, a material deeply embedded in Pakistan's geological and cultural history. Found in large quantities in the country's northwestern region, the mineral is known for its distinct pink hue and purity. However, in Venice's humid climate, the salt will undergo continuous cycles of dissolving, rehardening, and reshaping itself, serving as both a metaphor for resilience and a commentary on fragility. This transformation underscores the precarious balance of natural systems under human-induced environmental pressures and highlights how adaptation must be attuned to regional conditions rather than dictated by global power structures.Save this picture! The installation features a suspended structure that spatially reflects the asymmetries of the climate crisis, illustrating the disparities between those who contribute the least to environmental degradation yet suffer the most severe consequences. By embracing instability and impermanence, the pavilion urges a rethinking of resilience, not as a fixed solution but as a continuous, evolving process. The exhibit highlights the urgent need for climate action that acknowledges regional disparities and prioritizes equity over top-down policies. The commissioner of the pavilion is M. Arif Changezi, Chairperson of the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners.Save this picture!Housed at Spazio 996/A, a gallery space positioned between key entrances of the Biennale, the Pakistan Pavilion will be open to the public starting May 10, 2025. Through its material exploration and conceptual framework, (Fr)Agile Systems) seeks to ignite a critical discourse on climate justice, resilience, and the necessity of regionally responsive design solutions in the face of an increasingly unpredictable world. In other similar news, several national pavilions at the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale are exploring pressing global themes through innovative architectural lenses. The Germany Pavilion examines the urban limits of a warming world, questioning how cities can evolve and adapt in response to the increasing impacts of climate change. Meanwhile, the Netherlands Pavilion takes a bold approach to social spaces, reimagining the sports bar through a queer lens to challenge traditional structures and promote inclusivity in public settings. The Brazil Pavilion explores the concept of architecture as a cultural artifact, delving into how spatial practices contribute to shaping national identity and collective memory.Image gallerySee allShow lessAbout this authorNour FakharanyAuthorCite: Nour Fakharany. • My new 3D Artwork Elusive Reality
    v.redd.it
I did this work in a couple of days, as quickly as possible, to capture this emotion and thought that I captured in this picture. Reality is an elusive force that physically influences life while remaining metaphysical and unpredictable. It simply is: fluid, alive, constantly changing. Chaos is the same order, but in a new form, and our human linear thinkingdividing the world into black and white, chaos and orderprevents us from seeing its wholeness. It turns out that if we do something hoping for an expected result, we are simply doing something in the hope of an expected result, and nothing more. That is the only guarantee that reality can provide us. submitted by /u/SubSensus [link] [comments]

  • Legendary Game Publisher Acclaim Returns, Focusing On Supporting Indies & Revitalizing Classics
    cgshares.com
American video game publisher Acclaim Entertainment is back after it was taken down by bankruptcy more than twenty years ago. It is formed by a group of industry veterans and under the leadership of its new CEO, Alex Josef, who has over 20 years of marketing and publishing experience across various platforms. The company will now focus on offering support for indie game studios and original IP while bringing back beloved classics for the new generation.First established nearly forty years ago in 1987, Acclaim held a place in the hearts of some older players. It published quite many hit games from franchises like Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, and Turok. However, in 2004, the company faced severe financial difficulties, mainly due to poor sales of its titles, and went bankrupt. Then, many of its publishing rights were acquired and reallocated in the following years. The revived company has a major initiative to help indie developers, mainly by providing much-needed resources, including funding, marking, and PR support. This would benefit smaller studios by bringing their creative visions to a broader audience. The other target is to resurrect and revitalize its beloved portfolio of classic IP. To make the goal come to life, an advisory board formed by esteemed industry leaders has been set up, including Russell Binder at Striker Entertainment, Mark Caplan at Ridge Partners, and renowned wrestler Jeff Jarrett, who boasts more than three decades of experience in both the wrestling and gaming universes. Were fortunate that we have an extremely talented team and that weve already signed some incredible indie titles, which well be revealing soon, CEO Alex Josef teased.Dont forget to join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post Legendary Game Publisher Acclaim Returns, Focusing On Supporting Indies & Revitalizing Classics appeared first on CG SHARES.

  • Borderlands Creator Randy Pitchford Gets Criticized for Being Unable to Handle Criticism
    cgshares.com
Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox known as the creator of the Borderlands series, the director of Half-Life: Opposing Force, and the guy who compared himself to The Beatles and left a USB drive with adult films at a Medieval Times restaurant in 2014 has once again become a subject of controversy, this time for doing something you should never do on the internet publicly showing how thin-skinned and touchy you can be now facing criticism for being unable to handle criticism related to the upcoming Borderlands 4.While the debacle began only recently, the events leading up to it actually took place in late February, when Mitsu, a content creator and longtime Borderlands fan, shared a Twitter thread expressing his doubts about Borderlands 4 by saying the game looks too similar to its predecessor, Borderlands 3.He also offered some mild criticism, suggesting the forthcoming title feels like other situations where the publisher yanked the marketing budget to cut losses since projected sales are way, way down and noting that the game feels like the movie, referencing the disastrous 2024 Borderlands film that has already been slammed by audiences, critics, and even Uwe Boll.Following the threads publication, Pitchford himself showed up in the comments, claiming he would block, and ultimately muting Mitsu, stating that it wasnt the kind of energy he needed at the moment:And that wouldve likely been the end of things if not for Twitch streamer Gothalion, who revisited the interaction, questioning why Pitchford would publicly mute an OG Borderlands fan over inoffensive and genuine concerns for the well-being of the series. His critique came from a place of love, Gothalion said to the CEO. As will mine. Please reconsider. Do better. Make a great Borderlands, and when your longest-lasting, biggest supporters give feedback and worries, especially respectfully, digest it gracefully. Hoping BL4 bangs.Much like the original tweet, Gothalions question caught the attention of the magic man, who argued that it wasnt criticism but rather sh*tty negativity that was demotivating. He added that hes one of the people killing themselves for your entertainment, and if you want to support Borderlands 4, Pitchford wants you to root for us and cheer us on:Showing not just once, but twice, his inability to take criticism or simply ignore that noise and refrain from replying to it on social media, the CEO only attracted more negativity, with multiple Twitter users lambasting Borderlands 4, the series as a whole, and especially Pitchford for playing the victim, acting like a crybaby online, and tarnishing Gearboxs image.Subsequently, GamesRadar+ found several pieces of evidence proving that the CEOs behavior on social media is not new, with multiple instances of him struggling to handle negative feedback, especially after the release and flop of the Borderlands movie. And what do you think about Mitsus original thread and Pitchfords response to it? Was the CEOs reaction justified? Are you hyped up about Borderlands 4s impending release? Tell us in the comments?Dont forget to join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post Borderlands Creator Randy Pitchford Gets Criticized for Being Unable to Handle Criticism appeared first on CG SHARES.

  • WoW Undermine(d): D.R.I.V.E.s Future is Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place
    gamerant.com
Much like every World of Warcraft patch before it, the recently released Undermine(d) update has a treasure trove of content for players to explore. Not only do players get to finally step foot in the goblin capital of Undermine, they are also given access to a brand-new story that sees them embroiled in the cartel war that fills the city's streets. On top of that, World of Warcraft players are being treated to new Delves, new dungeons, a brand-new raid, and so much more. But, while that all seems like fun, the true stand out is the new D.R.I.V.E. system that debuted in the update.
