Markus Persson, a.k.a. Notch, a.k.a. the father of the most popular sandbox video game of all time, Minecraft, continues working on his upcoming retro-style first-person roguelike, Levers and Chests the game he chose over a potential spiritual successor to Minecraft, a project he was 100% serious about, earlier this year offering one more glimpse into the development process behind the title with a new batch of WIP screenshots.Similar to the ones he shared earlier, the new shots offer a look at L&Cs voxelized game world, user interface, and a few structures described as non-procedural but made with procedural generation in mind by Notch along with several mobs, including a creepy Shelob-sized spider and an even creepier, ghost-like figure standing atop several tombstones.Additionally, the developer gave us a behind-the-scenes look at Bitshift Entertainments work on the games rendering engine, showcasing some mesmerizing voxel fractals. As of now, the game appears to still be in pre-alpha, and as noted in our earlier coverage of Levers and Chests development, if its timeline mirrors that of Minecraft, its possible that early versions of L&C could be publicly released as soon as this year assuming pre-alpha aligns with Minecrafts Indev.FollowNotch on Twitterfor more updates and dont forget to join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post Notch Continues Working on His New Game, Sharing Even More WIP Screenshots appeared first on CG SHARES.
