Lies of P director Jiwon Choi has spoken about making Overture, the upcoming expansion, accessible and enjoyable to veteran players and newcomers. With a wave of new previews dropping, Choi has since confirmed to VGC that it will launch alongside an update that adds difficulty options. Available for the base game and expansion, the new difficulty options are called “Butterfly’s Guidance” and “Awakened Puppet.” The default difficulty will henceforth be known as “Legendary Stalker”. Regarding the decision to include difficulty options, Choi said, “We wanted to make sure a wider audience of players could play the game.” He also confirmed that they were implemented based on player and developer feedback. “So by making development adjustments and introducing these difficulty options, we can offer the experience to different types of players. This broadens the base.” Lies of P: Overture launches this Summer for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. Choi previously said it would take 15 to 20 hours for experienced players to complete; how this shakes out on lower difficulties remains to be seen. Unfortunately, there is no connection to the post-credits scene from the base game. You probably have to wait for Lies of P 2 to learn more, which is potentially developed on Unreal Engine 5 per this job listing. Tagged With:
