On dirait que c'était hier qu'il a fallu inventer un événement pour rassembler tous ceux qui pensaient que dessiner des petits bonhommes en 2D était un vrai métier. Quarante ans de passion, de créativité… et surtout, de réunions interminables autour de tables rondes où l'on discute de la meilleure façon de faire bouger des pixels. Vous savez, parce qu'on ne peut pas simplement faire un dessin animé sans une bonne dose de jargon artistique.

    Et voilà, pour marquer cette occasion monumentale, le Festival d’Annecy a décidé de nous offrir une animation qui va « célébrer » cet anniversaire. Je me demande si cela signifie que nous allons avoir un défilé de personnages animés qui se battent pour savoir qui a le meilleur effet spécial. Peut-être même des séances de pitchs où l'on présente les histoires les plus farfelues, comme celle d'un petit chat qui rêve de devenir un super-héros tout en vendant des crêpes… Parce que, après tout, qui n'aimerait pas voir un chat en costume de Batman ?

    Et ne vous inquiétez pas, il y aura aussi des stands. Des stands qui, je suis sûr, vont nous présenter des produits d’animation qui nous rappellent que l'art de faire des films d'animation est devenu une affaire de business avant tout. Qui a besoin de créativité quand on peut vendre des goodies à la pelle ? Et pendant que vous y êtes, n'oubliez pas d'assister à ces fameuses conférences de presse. Parce que rien ne dit « je suis un artiste » comme une conférence où l’on parle de budgets et de droits d’auteur.

    En attendant l’édition 2025, on peut déjà imaginer à quel point cette animation sera remplie de nostalgie et de références que seuls les vieux de la vieille comprendront. Mais bon, qui a besoin de nouveauté quand on peut se vautrer dans le passé ? Je ne sais pas vous, mais personnellement, j'ai hâte de voir comment on va réussir à faire vibrer tout ça sans trop bouger de nos fauteuils.

On parle ici de Lyten, qui transforme le secteur de l'automobilisme avec des pièces imprimées en 3D. Ça a l'air cool, mais bon, c'est juste de la technologie, et on a déjà vu ça, non ?

    La vérité, c'est que l'impression 3D dans le monde de la course automobile est devenue un must. Surtout en Formule 1, où chaque seconde compte, et où ils essaient de fabriquer des pièces plus rapidement. Ça optimise le rendement, mais est-ce que ça change vraiment notre vie ? Pas sûr. On continue à conduire nos voitures habituelles, alors que les pros s'amusent avec ces innovations.

    Les pièces imprimées en 3D offrent une flexibilité incroyable. C'est vrai que les équipes peuvent tester des designs différents sans dépenser des millions. Mais à la fin de la journée, on parle juste de voitures qui vont un peu plus vite, et c'est tout. Pas de quoi sauter au plafond, franchement. Peut-être que je suis un peu blasé, mais c'est juste du métal et du plastique, non ?

    Quant à la durabilité, c'est un argument souvent mis en avant. Les pièces légères qu'on peut imprimer pourraient réduire le poids des voitures. Mais encore une fois, qui ça intéresse vraiment ? On est tous un peu en mode « et alors ? ». Les voitures sont déjà assez rapides, et nos trajets quotidiens restent les mêmes.

    En résumé, Lyten et ses pièces en 3D ne font que suivre une tendance déjà établie. Oui, c'est intéressant, mais ce n'est pas non plus une révolution. Le monde de l'automobile continue d'évoluer, lentement mais sûrement, mais ça ne veut pas dire qu'on doit faire la fête pour ça.

    Alors voilà, on attend la prochaine innovation qui nous fera enfin dire « wow », mais en attendant, on se contente de ce qu'on a.

The following evening Copenhagen-based label Louise Roe will preview new products, including a wall lamp, blown-glass vase, and stone table, at an alfresco cocktail party in its courtyard. On June 18, 3 Days of Design officially kicks off at the Vipp Garage HQ, where the studio will unveil a guesthouse installation and line of limited-edition products, both designed in collaboration with AD100 Studio KO. From there, make like a local and take a quick bicycle ride to Louis Poulsen’s showroom for a special light installation by Danish fashion designer Henrik Vibskov. That evening, Kvadrat and Vitra’s joint launch party at the former’s showroom in Nordhavn will fete new textile launches, including an attractive, high-performance acoustic curtain. Afterwards, stop by Audo House—the private residence, concept shop, restaurant, and garden, all decorated by furniture company Audo—to see it freshly renovated at the hands of local talent Norm Architects. The house is open June 18 through 20—and Audo is hosting an evening soirée there on June 19. Meanwhile, Swedish brand Svenskt Tenn’s 3 Days of Design debut at a private apartment in Christianshavn will also be a must-see, especially for Josef Frank aficionados.
