After years of anticipation and countless mind-blowing teaser trailers, EmberGen developer JangaFX has finally launched LiquiGen, the company's node-based real-time fluid simulation software, now available in closed alpha.

Announced back in 2020 as a companion app to EmberGen, LiquiGen was designed to enable its users to simulate and render lifelike liquids in real-time. As stated by JangaFX CEO Nicholas Seavert, the newly-released alpha version of the software offers core functionality but lacks some of the important features, such as surface tension, viscosity, and foam, which the team plans to implement further down the line.

To try out LiquiGen yourself, you need to purchase the JangaFX Suite, containing the aforementioned EmberGen and the recently released GeoGen, join JangaFX's Discord, and connect your JangaFX account to gain access. The company aims to gather initial feedback and collaborate with the community to refine LiquiGen into "one of the world's best liquid simulation tools" going forward.

Recently, the company also shipped EmberGen 1.1, a brand-new version of its real-time volumetric fluid simulation tool for simulating, rendering, and exporting flipbooks, image sequences, and VDB volumes.

Described as "the first major update" since last year's release of EmberGen 1.0, the release focused on simulation quality, accuracy, and performance, adding new features to the application and improving the existing ones.
