The Marlim Costa Cabral refurbishment project is located in the city of Porto and aimed to convert the existing four-storey building into seven flats of different types.Save this picture!The intervention sought to maintain the structure and interior configuration of the existing building, adapting the spaces to the functionalities introduced by the new programme and to contemporary way of living. It sought to safeguard the character of the pre-existing building, which was well preserved, providing it with better living conditions and comfort through new solutions, materials and finishes. Characterising elements such as interior doors, friezes, trims, skirting boards, carved ceilings, stonework and others were kept wherever possible, in order to safeguard the building's character and memory. The window frames were replaced with new ones of an identical design, in order to meet the new housing requirements, namely safety and thermal and acoustic comfort. The intervention essentially involved the construction of new kitchens and bathrooms, located in such a way as to concentrate the vertical technical ducts, minimising the impact on the pre-existing building. The lunar eclipse this week had many of us gazing up at the night sky to marvel at the red-tinged moon, and now we can see what that eerie effect looked like from the other side thanks to images captured by Fireflys Blue Ghost lander. From the landers perspective on the moon, the phenomenon on March 14 was a solar eclipse, and the latest video shows red light cast over Blue Ghost as Earth temporarily blocked the sun. The new imagery came in shortly after the team shared a photo of the diamond ring effect captured by the lander as the sun began to reemerge.These images rapidly captured by our top deck camera with different exposure settings were stitched together in a quick clip, Firefly said. The red hue is the result of sunlight refracting through the Earths atmosphere as the sun is blocked by our planet, casting a shadow on the lunar surface. At the beginning of the video where the images are better lit, you can see Venus as a small dot above the eclipse. And if you look really, really closely, youll also see Mercury to its left.Blue Ghost landed on the moon on March 2, and Firefly has shared some pretty amazing photos and videos since, including landing footage from the spacecrafts point of view.
