GAMINGBOLT.COMNintendo Switch 2 Cost Might Go Up by $50 to $100 Depending on Tariffs – AnalystWhile Nintendo has priced the upcoming Switch 2 at $449.99, the company has been quiet about the tariffs announced by the United States. In light of the tariffs, however, Nintendo has also put pre-orders for the consoles, which were supposed to go live over the weekend, on pause. It is worth noting that, while Nintendo is yet to make any announcements about the matter, it is likely that the Switch 2 will get some sort of increase to its price tag. This is because of the console’s manufacturing process taking place in Vietnam, where the US has levied a 46 percent tariff. This would significantly raise the price of the console in the country. While the US has more recently announced a pause on the tariff plan for some countries, the Switch 2 will still have to contend with a 10 percent tariff in the country. According to Bloomberg, Bernstein analyst Robin Zhu believes that Nintendo will likely go ahead with its $449.99 price tag if the 10 percent tariffs were the only thing to deal with. However, Zhu expects Nintendo to raise the price by quite a bit if the 46 percent tariffs are levied. “Nintendo probably keeps pricing at $450 and just takes the hit on margin,” said Zhu of the 10 percent tariffs. “At 46% Vietnam tariffs, I expected them to raise by $50 to $100.” Former Nintendo PR managers Kit Ellis and Krysta Lang have noted that Nintendo would benefit quite a bit if it were to “eat the cost,” earning the company quite a bit of good will amongst fans in light of the controversial high price tags for the console and its games. “They can do it, they can eat it, it would not make a huge dent in them,” said Ellis. Yang responded by noting that the high costs of games like Mario Kart World has already lost Nintendo a fair bit of trust with its fans. “They have lost so much trust already with the current negative sentiment around price, and around what they’re doing with the games and charging the high price for Mario Kart World, this would repair some goodwill with their current fan base,” said Yang. When it comes to software, Nintendo has been steadfast about its new $80 price tag for Mario Kart World. In an interview, Nintendo of America VP of Product and Player Experience spoke about how the company believes that Mario Kart World will definitely be worth its price. He also spoke about the value offered by the Switch 2 Edition releases for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Despites pre-orders for the console being halted for the time being, the Nintendo Switch 2 is slated to hit store shelves on June 5. The console will also be available in a bundle alongside Mario Kart World, priced at $499.99. Among several games available for the title at launch will also be the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, which will explain all the features of the console to players, and will be priced at $9.99.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 76 Views

WWW.POLYGON.COMSwitch 3 rumors are starting up, and I’m already tiredNintendo has spent the last few weeks providing us with a ton of information about the Switch 2, but I’m sad to say that’s old news. The tech-y, business-y types of the world are already looking ahead to the Switch 3, baby. Buckle up. While sharing his insights on the current strength of Intel Corporation stock, KeyBanc Capital Markets senior research analyst John Vinh shared a small —and I mean brief — tidbit about Intel potentially securing a contract to work on the next Nintendo console. “We believe [Intel] has won the GPU gaming socket for the Nintendo Switch 3 on 18A,” Vinh said, referring to the company’s much-touted 18A semiconductor manufacturing. I won’t pretend to understand all the ins and outs of this technology, but Intel put out a short video in January describing the benefits for luddites like me. According to Intel Story Lab director Krista Vasquez, the Intel 18A chipmaking process combines innovative transistors with industry-first architecture to provide “jumps in performance, density, and power efficiency” while “paving the way for continued, future advances.” Sounds impressive, but buzzwords tend to have that effect. Just when it feels like we got off one speculative rollercoaster, we’ve been ushered into the next one faster than we could say, “Donkey Kong wears pants now.” Let’s all hold hands and trudge silently into the underground bunkers before we’re assaulted by eye-straining YouTube thumbnails and Reddit posts arguing about the latest half-sentence tease from gaming’s cottage industry of “insiders” and rumormongers. Oh, and if you still care, the Switch 2 launches June 5.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 73 Views

WCCFTECH.COMThe Last Of Us Part II Remastered PC Update 1.1 Addresses Crashing Issues, While Nixxes Is Still Working On Autosave ProblemsThe Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC got its second patch from developer Nixxes. This update addresses crashing issues that players reported, an audio issue players had while watching the Grounded documentary, fixes for the sliders in the display menu, and more. However, it does not address the autosave issues that players have reported to Nixxes, which Nixxes says it is still working to fix. For now, Nixxes suggests players try a workaround if they do run into the issue and a potential explanation as to why the problem is occurring in the first place. "Our investigation shows that issues can occur when OneDrive or similar cloud services block the save file from being written," Nixxes wrote in a post on X. "As a workaround, we suggest that you pause OneDrive while playing the game: Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Windows taskbar, click the gear icon and Pause sync." The Last of Us Part II Remastered arrived on PC right at the beginning of April, and in just over a week, Nixxes has released two patches for the game, addressing the big issues players were immediately reporting. At the pace Nixxes is working at, it likely won't take them too much longer to work out a fix for the autosave issue. Wccftech's Alessio Palumbo dug into the PC port for The Last of Us Part II Remastered when it arrived a little more than a week ago, and even without these patches, at the time he wrote that The Last of Us Part II Remastered "is one of the best games ever made in its genre, and it is absolutely unmissable for anyone who enjoyed Part I. As such, it is hard not to recommend, even though it's an entirely straightforward, albeit not problematic, port."0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 72 Views

WWW.GAMESPOT.COMHow To Ride The Reservoir Boat In Blue PrinceAre you planning to sail on the Reservoir boat in Blue Prince? While you might think that this is a quaint activity that leads to a bit of sightseeing, it's actually a fairly convoluted task that requires visiting multiple locations. Don't worry, since we've got you covered with all the details. Just watch out because this article contains a few spoilers. How to sail on the Reservoir boat in Blue PrinceYou can sail on the Reservoir boat by altering the water levels via the Pump Room. This is easier said than done because (a) you don't know what those water levels are, and (b) you still need to make changes in the Pump Room itself. In any case, we've outlined our guide to mention the clues first, just in case you want to solve things on your own. After this section, we then talk about how to complete the objective.Note: This whole process requires the use of the Pump Room. Don't worry even if you don't have enough steps to make it back to the Reservoir from the Pump Room. The configuration that you set it to will be retained across multiple days/runs until you make changes. Reservoir water levels clueIf you want to ride the Reservoir boat in Blue Prince, then you might be interested in the clue that informs you about the water levels. This is found in the Underground just past the Red Door. Rotate the giant gear so you can reach the other side of the area. There, look at the window pane to see the water levels. The most important ones are:Dock level: 13Entry level: 6Fully drain: 0Note: Think of the Reservoir's water levels as akin to a math problem. If full, the Reservoir has 14 pips/levels (+14). We have to bring it down to 13 first (dock level), and then 6 (entry level). Dock level: How to move the Reservoir boat to the other sideThis is a fairly simple task, but you do need to have access to the Pump Room for this one. It's similar to what you did when you drained the Fountain, except you only need to drain one water level from the Reservoir (assuming it's full)--i.e. from +14, we need to bring it down to +13.Aside from this, you must also have access to the Underground's western half, which is where the boat is initially docked. There are entry paths from the Fountain, Tomb, and Blue Flames Elevator. If you did it right, you should be able to interact with the boat in the Reservoir. This leads to a cutscene where Simon sails across, bringing the boat over to the Foundation side of the cavern. Entry level: Pump Room configuration to partially drain the ReservoirThe next step if you want to sail on the Reservoir boat in Blue Prince requires us to return to the Pump Room once more. This time, though, we need to set the Reservoir's water level to +6 (entry level).First, let's assume that it's at +13 (dock level). We then need to "do the math" to bring it down to +6 (entry level):Drain the Reservoir using Tank 1 (-4).The Reservoir should now be at +9.With the Reservoir at +9:Fill up the Fountain using both Tank 1 and Tank 2.These main tanks must be fully drained, and the reserve tank should be at two levels.Fully drain the Kitchen using Tank 2.Switch the Reservoir to Tank 2 and drain one water level (-1).The Reservoir should now be at +8:Use the reserve tank to fill up Tank 1 by two levels.Drain the Reservoir using Tank 1 (-2). What's beyond the Reservoir? With the above configuration, you should be able to sail on the Reservoir boat in Blue Prince. Make your way back to the cavern in the Underground via the Foundation or Basement. Then, head down the wooden steps and interact with the boat.We don't want to spoil what happens next, but here's the gist:Take screenshots of every note, document, and map that you see in this area. These give you hints related to other puzzles and mysteries in the game.Don't forget to pick up the Sanctum Key that's on the crate.Last but not least, this isn't the only Sanctum Key that you can find deep below the manor. There's also another one that can be yours if you fully drain the water.A surreal adventure filled with wonders and mysteries await you in Blue Prince. If ever you feel stuck or lost at any point in time in your playthrough, don't forget to check our Blue Prince guides hub.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 87 Views

BLOGS.NVIDIA.COMBeyond CAD: How nTop Uses AI and Accelerated Computing to Enhance Product DesignAs a teenager, Bradley Rothenberg was obsessed with CAD: computer-aided design software. Before he turned 30, Rothenberg channeled that interest into building a startup, nTop, which today offers product developers — across vastly different industries — fast, highly iterative tools that help them model and create innovative, often deeply unorthodox designs. One of Rothenberg’s key insights has been how closely iteration at scale and innovation correlate — especially in the design space. He also realized that by creating engineering software for GPUs, rather than CPUs — which powered (and still power) virtually every CAD tool — nTop could tap into parallel processing algorithms and AI to offer designers fast, virtually unlimited iteration for any design project. The result: almost limitless opportunities for innovation. Product designers of all stripes took note. A decade after its founding, nTop — a member of the NVIDIA Inception program for cutting-edge startups — now employs more than 100 people, primarily in New York City, where it’s headquartered, as well as in Germany, France and the U.K. — with plans to grow another 10% by year’s end. Its computation design tools autonomously iterate alongside designers, spitballing different virtual shapes and potential materials to arrive at products, or parts of a product, that are highly performant. It’s design trial and error at scale. “As a designer, you frequently have all these competing goals and questions: If I make this change, will my design be too heavy? Will it be too thick?” Rothenberg said. “When making a change to the design, you want to see how that impacts performance, and nTop helps evaluate those performance changes in real time.” Ocado used nTop software to redesign its 600 series robot to be far lighter and sturdier than earlier versions. U.K.-based supermarket chain Ocado, which builds and deploys autonomous robots, is one of nTop’s biggest customers. Ocado differentiates itself from other large European grocery chains through its deep integration of autonomous robots and grocery picking. Its office-chair-sized robots speed around massive warehouses — approaching the size of eight American football fields — at around 20 mph, passing within a millimeter of one another as they pick and sort groceries in hive-like structures. In early designs, Ocado’s robots often broke down or even caught fire. Their weight also meant Ocado had to build more robust — and more expensive — warehouses. Using nTop’s software, Ocado’s robotics team quickly redesigned 16 critical parts in its robots, cutting the robot’s overall weight by two-thirds. Critically, the redesign took around a week. Earlier redesigns that didn’t use nTop’s tools took about four months. Prototypes of the 600 series robot were printed out using 3D printers for fast-turn testing. “Ocado created a more robust version of its robot that was an order of magnitude cheaper and faster,” Rothenberg said. “Its designers went through these rapid design cycles where they could press a button and the entire robot’s structure would be redesigned overnight using nTop, prepping it for testing the next day.” The Ocado use case is typical of how designers use nTop’s tools. nTop software runs hundreds of simulations analyzing how different conditions might impact a design’s performance. Insights from those simulations are then fed back into the design algorithm, and the entire process restarts. Designers can easily tweak their designs based on the results, until the iterations land on an optimal result. nTop has begun integrating AI models into its simulation workloads, along with an nTop customer’s bespoke design data into its iteration process. nTop uses the NVIDIA Modulus framework, NVIDIA Omniverse platform and NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries to train and infer its accelerated computing workloads and AI models. “We have neural networks that can be trained on the geometry and physics of a company’s data,” Rothenberg said. “If a company has a specific way of engineering the structure of a car, it can construct that car in nTop, train up an AI in nTop and very quickly iterate through different versions of the car’s structure or any future car designs by accessing all the data the model is already trained on.” nTop’s tools have wide applicability across industries. A Formula 1 design team used nTop to virtually model countless versions of heat sinks before choosing an unorthodox but highly performant sink for its car. Traditionally, heat sinks are made of small, uniform pieces of metal aligned side by side to maximize metal-air interaction and, therefore, heat exchange and cooling. A heat sink designed for a Formula 1 race car offered 3x more surface area and was 25% lighter than previous sinks. The engineers iterated with nTop on an undulating multilevel sink that maximized air-metal interaction even as it optimized aerodynamics, which is crucial for racing. The new heat sink achieved 3x the surface area for heat transfer than earlier models, while cutting weight by 25%, delivering superior cooling performance and enhanced efficiency. Going forward, nTop anticipates its implicit modeling tools will drive greater adoption from product designers who want to work with an iterative “partner” trained on their company’s proprietary data. “We work with many different partners who develop designs, run a bunch of simulations using models and then optimize for the best results,” said Rothenberg. “The advances they’re making really speak for themselves.” Learn more about nTop’s product design workflow and work with partners.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 118 Views
