GAMINGBOLT.COMDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach Allows Players to Skip BossesNews Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Allows Players to Skip Bosses Selecting the option from the Game Over screen will describe the boss fight with text and images while allowing players to progress. Posted By Ravi Sinha | On 13th, Apr. 2025 Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a lot of things, incorporating elements of walking sims, stealth, open-world exploration, crafting, and more. However, combat is also a core aspect, which extends to the boss fights. Based on gameplay footage thus far, players will have their hands full with the more challenging B.T. If that’s what they’re after, of course. Those who want to focus on the narrative or aren’t as skilled at combat can select an option to “clear” the fight without actually beating the boss, as revealed on the latest Koji10 radio broadcast (translation via Genki on Twitter). It’s available in the Game Over screen below “Continue.” When selected, players can view “image and text descriptions” of the battle before continuing on their merry way. Whether this is only on Easy difficulty or available throughout remains to be seen, alongside the impact on unlocking Trophies (assuming any require defeating bosses). Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches on June 26th for PS5. Director Hideo Kojima recently announced that development is 95 percent complete, so expect more details and a “gone gold” announcement in the coming days. Started this years ago but ran like shit on old xbox, restarted for a WOFF play along and beat it in ~3 hours? Found some of the secret stuff but being blind in one eye made the constillation stuff hell. Game was a bit smug and a bit to safe/Portal like, though a few parts were good. The ending didnt pay off like the devs probably wanted it to, but maybe im cynical. 3 Mar 11th - Indika, bought it awhile ago, but played it this week cause it will be on WOFF. All you "reserving spots" are FRAGILE BEINGS 🧐 Fady Member Oct 28, 2017 1,039 UAE Sure why not 😁! Minecraft: Story Mode - Season 1 - for someone like myself who cares so little for Minecraft but loves Telltale Games this was surprisingly fun! Shame it's been delisted since some time back. Soma - what the HELL was that? The game was incredible but what the hell was that ending? It broke me hard - I hated how bleak the ending was that it actually left a sour taste in my mouth. This is the bleakest game I've ever played. Sonic and the Secret Rings - huge Sonic fan here and I've decided to play through all the games I've missed since a few years ago and this one was a nightmare to finish to be honest. I feel the Wii, as revolutionary as it was, had a lot of issues with motion control, and this game, a runner, felt like a nightmare to control at times. I enjoyed bits and pieces and some of the levels, but for any Sonic fan curious about this, don't bother. Famicom Detective Stories: The Girl that Stands Behind - ok this was a nice visual novel from Nintendo, I'm glad they're localising these now. Lovely art and creepy atmosphere in parts, but I can't help but feel it's nowhere near the potential it had as a "horror" themed story. The music while nice takes away from the fear factor and mystery, and I wish it had a little more "gameplay. Still, a fun visual novel for fans of the genre. Batman - Arkham VR - a short but really sweet interactive experience on the PSVR1. I wish I could access the new Arkham Shadow game on another platform (I don't want to buy the meta quest for literally the one game). Arkham VR was a joy for me because it gave me a glimpse of the Arkham universe through a VR lens. Last edited: Jan 19, 2025 SilentEagle Banned Jan 9, 2021 8,327 Reserved. I keep track of everything I play, so it should be easy to keep updating it every so often! 1) Slay the Princess: The Pristine Cut (January 1st) - PC If the base game was already extraordinary, this makes it even better. A completely unique narrative adventure, wonderfully written and illustrated and with a ton of truly memorable moments. It's best to play it without knowing too much and STRONGLY recommended even if you don't usually like (slightly) scary games. A masterpiece. 2) Metal Slug Tactics (January 5th) - PC A very solid turn-based tactics game that is unfortunately tied to a slightly frustrating roguelite progression system. It has a lot of unique and fun mechanics (focusing on movement instead of cover is great!), but the runs are a bit too long and they don't properly reward you for the time you've spent on them, so it feels like you're progressing too slow. Would've been better as a more linear experience, but it's a fun game nonetheless. 3) Venba (January 11th) - PC Really short, but very nice and effective. It integrates its cooking "puzzles" pretty well within the story and, even though it may have benefitted from dedicating a bit more time to some parts of it, it works really well as it is. It's not hard, but the puzzles make you think and the themes of connecting with your family and your roots through cooking were beautifully explored. 4) Beneath Oresa (16th January) - PC A promising deckbuilder roguelite with a very cool presentation that sadly ends up being a bit underwhelming. It's buggy, it's poorly balanced, there's not enough variety for it to be interesting after a handful of runs, and there's seemingly only one way to play "properly", which kinda defeats the purpose of it being a deckbuilder. There are some nice ideas and mechanics in there, but it's a bit messy at the moment. 5) Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (28th January) - PC An outstanding adventure from beginning to end. It constantly feels like you're inside an Indiana Jones movie, from the insane setpieces to the more paused exploration and puzzle-solving. Fantastic performances from every cast member, gorgeous environments to explore and they absolutely nailed the tone and the feel of everything. I loved it so much. 6) Dragon Age: The Veilguard (1st February) - PC A really solid ARPG with great character moments, satisfying combat and one of the greatest third acts BioWare has ever made. You can tell it went through development hell at some points, but it's nothing short of a miracle that it ended up being actually good despite all that. My only gripes with it are that it'd benefit from having more enemy variety, but other than that, I really loved my time with it. 7) The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (3rd February) - Switch A fun twist on the classic 2D Zelda formula. It gives you a lot of tools to handle dungeon puzzles, fights and overworld exploration and you can be as creative as you want with it. Some tools are much more useful than others, which means the game can become a bit repetitive, but it's mostly a really fun time. And it's about time Zelda got her own game! 8) BAKERU (16th February) - PC A very simple platformer/collectathon with surprisingly great level design and fantastic game feel. A really cool, creative journey through every region of Japan that just straight up feels great to play. It's charming, it looks really nice and it's simple, straightforward fun all the way through. I'm glad I found out about it, because it wasn't on my radar at all until very recently. 9) Arco (17th February) - PC Yet another "where did this come from?" game. A very unique blend of real-time and turn-based combat with a well written tale of vengeance, RPG elements and a very interesting setting. Some minor UI gripes aside, I've really enjoyed my time with it and I hope more people give it a shot. It's genuinely great. 10) Against the Storm (9th March) - PC An outstanding citybuilder that shouldn't work as well as it does as a roguelite, and yet here we are. Deceptively simple to learn, unbelievably deep once you start getting into the meat of it. All of its systems work wonderfully together to make a very satisfying and unique experience unlike anything else I've ever played before. I loved it so much. 11) Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Gambit (12th March) - Switch Easily one of the most brilliant entries in the series. Great mysteries and twists, a wonderfully written cast of characters and an overarching story that blows up in an insane finale. I'm so glad this was finally made available outside of Japan and that I finally managed to play through every single game in the series. Now bring on Ace Attorney 7, Capcom! 12) Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (13th March) - PC A wonderful sequel to the original that goes even further with its themes, mechanics and ideas. It's wonderfully written and it still feels as fresh and unique as the first game despite being more of the same, but with a handful of extra features. A truly gorgeous story that I strongly recommend to anyone who enjoys sci-fi stuff. 13) Eternal Strands (16th March) - PC A really ambitious game that wants to be so much more than it manages to be. It has some very good ideas and the gameplay loop is mostly a lot of fun, but a noticeable lack of resources stops it from being truly great. Fighting the big monsters is great, the crafting system is very unique and the voice acting is excellent, but everything else is just okay. Still, a very promising first project for a new studio! 14) Monster Hunter Wilds (24th March) - PC Yet another insanely fun, spectacular, super satisfying entry in one of my favorite franchises of all time. More streamlined, less tedious and as much pure fun as always. The focus on the story is interesting, but I can understand why it would make some people annoyed. I personally really enjoyed it and now that I'm done with it, I'll keep it as a "background" game to keep hunting for many, many more hours. 15) SteamWorld Heist II (26th March) - PC A worthy sequel to the original that further expands its unique, very satisfying turn-based combat system by letting you make crazy skill combinations. It's a bit too long for its enemy/mission variety, but the game itself is so fun that you kinda forget about it. I'm very glad they've made a second one because there's quite literally nothing like SteamWorld Heist out there and it's a concept that deserved a second title. 16) Mario & Luigi: Brothership (30th March) - Switch Despite some glaring pacing issues, it's a pretty solid entry in the series. The presentation is great and it has a lot of charm (mostly thanks to the fantastic animation work), but it mostly shines through its combat system, which is arguably the best in the series thanks to the Power Plugs system. I had a good time with it, warts and all, and I hope this isn't the last Mario & Luigi game. 17) Sid Meier's Civilization VII (9th April) - PC Not really a game that can be "finished", but I've played two full campaigns and I feel like I've seen enough to properly talk about it. It's got very, very good bones, and it's a bold new direction for the franchise, but it's clearly unfinished. Most of the gameplay changes are very good and interesting, but the UI is so bad and cheap it makes the game feel worse than it actually is. If they manage to fix it, I'll for sure revisit it to play some more. 18) Wanderstop (12th April) - PC A little, very interesting game about change, taking a break, and brewing tea to satisfy the outlandish needs of a quirky cast of characters. It works relatively well as a cozy game, but what really shines is the writing. It's clever, witty, hilarious at times, but also very emotional and intense at times. It deals with very important topics in a charming way and it manages to actually make you enjoy those moments of having nothing to do. I'm gonna count it because I don't remember how many levels there actually are but after 15 it might as well roll credits every time you clear a board. WWW.POLYGON.COMLeague’s current main plot moves forward toward Ionia and the deadly DarkinIf there’s something gamers love in the fantasy genre, it’s when ancient beings are sealed inside cool swords, from which they can only whisper and beguile mortal beings. League of Legends takes this concept even further with the Darkin by creating a whole arsenal of evil weapons containing ancient evils. The Darkin had a rough start in the lore, but the constant cycle of Riot revising and retconning its previous works have led to them becoming one of the most fascinating groups in all of Runeterra. Recent lore revelations suggest that they’re about to become important in the ongoing storyline spun up by the conclusion to Arcane.Wait, what’s up with Noxus?Riot revamped the way seasons work in League of Legends to feel more like narrative events that take the time to explore factions. The first region to benefit from this was Noxus, where we learned more about LeBlanc and Vladimir, the Black Rose, and their ongoing schemes. At the end of the season start cinematic, “Bite Marks,” we see LeBlanc and Vladimir scheming in a direct follow-up to the Arcane finale.“Every new path seems to lead us closer to chaos. Perhaps we should focus on the opportunity that’s washed up on our shores,” says Vladimir, the hemomancer (or blood mage, for the uninitated) with a dark past. The two look at a mysterious rune formed on LeBlanc’s wall of mist and shadows, and Vladimir reacts with anger: “Darling, that is a step too far. Even for us.”We weren’t fully sure what “that” meant until LeBlanc’s new in-game update, which includes new voice lines. If she kills a Darkin in-game, she muses: “Almost too easy. Perhaps you’re not the weapon I seek after all.” On Wednesday, Riot released a new cinematic that follows up “Bite Marks” and the Demon’s Hand in-client card game from March, and it gives us more clarity on the Black Rose’s plans. A Darkin is seemingly hidden in Ionia, the first lands and another hugely popular region in League lore. The current Darkin canon that we have now is stitched together from a series of retcons and rewrites. Aatrox, who was originally released in 2013, had a vague backstory about being one of an ancient race, of which there were only five remaining. In the current lore, they are fallen god-warriors of a long-dead empire, twisted by trauma and an incredibly destructive force.Shurima is a setting of ruins, the remains of an ancient empire built around a celestial Sun Disc. The Sun Disc is millennia old, and it originally helped Shurima expand into a vast empire. One specific honor for the Shurimans was the ritual of Ascension. Noble figures and mighty warriors could be presented to the Sun Disc, and if found worthy, reincarnated into a massive combination of both man and beast. These would become the fabled god-warriors, the Ascended of Shurima, who inspired awe in any who beheld them. Eventually, the empire would fall in two terrible strokes. First, the emperor’s attempt at Ascension was sabotaged, cracking the Sun Disc and causing a catastrophic shockwave that devastated everything around it. Second, the people of Icathia rose up against the tyrannical emperor, and pulled upon the malignant powers of the Void. They failed, and now Icathia is a festering, extraplanar pit that threatens anyone who settles in southern Shurima. Those who had fought the Void called themselves the Sunborn, and they viciously fought to fill the power vacuum left by the emperor. Their conflict lasted for hundreds of years and threatened all of Runeterra. Even distant Camavor was so threatened that they sent Vladimir, their noble son, off to be a slave to one of these warlords — who are now known as the Darkin. The Darkin were petty and cruel, using war crimes and forbidden arts like blood magic to expand their reach.Image: Riot GamesUltimately, celestial mages schemed to murder a mass of the remaining Darkin, and then hunted down the survivors, trapping them in weapons. These weapons are prisons that keep their minds conscious and aware but with no physical form. The only chance for escape is a mortal host (or hosts, in the case of Varus and Naafiri) to seize the weapon out of ignorance or desperation. Vladimir killed his own Darkin captor, learned the secrets of blood magic, and escaped to the plains that would later become Noxus. This explains why he’s so hesitant to pursue the Darkin — he had one for a boss, and it didn’t work out well for anyone. So, what comes next? For the moment, we can assume that the Darkin storyline will be continued in season two. This suggests that Ionia will be the most likely destination for the next season of League of Legends, and we may see a Darkin champion emerge. It’s still early days, and Riot has yet to confirm anything about the next season, so all we can do is speculate. However, the latest cinematic seems to foreshadow that the deadly Darkin will return sooner rather than later.See More: League of LegendsmacOSmacOS logoWindowsWindows logoExplore The GameWhy It MattersLike many League players, I have a love-hate relationship with the game and my fellow League players, but I’ve spent a decade happily playing it on an almost daily basis. WCCFTECH.COMWedbush’s Dan Ives Thinks Trump Has Taken “The Doomsday Scenario Off The Table” And Tech Stocks Will Rally Come Monday, But One Options Market Veteran Feels “It’s A Crowded Trade”This is not investment advice. The author has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. Wccftech.com has a disclosure and ethics policy. The markets first showed their true heft earlier this week when they precipitated a surprise de-escalation, essentially forcing President Trump to concede to a global import tariff rate of 10 percent for all trading partners of the US barring China, which remained subject to a punitive tariff rate of 145 percent. This rapid change of heart at the White House was apparently triggered by the disorderly selloff in the bond market. Then, over the weekend, Trump rescinded the tariffs imposed on the import of semiconductors and electronic items (including Apple's iPhones) from China, reducing the effective tariff rate on all Chinese imports to 104 percent. Despite the exemption from the reciprocal tariff rate of 145 percent, do note that the imports of semiconductors, smartphones, and other electronic items from China currently still remain subject to the original 20 percent IEEPA tariffs. Then, in a move that significantly enhances the prevailing confusion and uncertainty, the US Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick, announced that sectoral tariffs on pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and electronic items were still in the pipeline, and would likely become effective in a month or so. This brings us to the crux of the matter. Wedbush's Dan Ives now feels that Trump has taken "the doomsday scenario off the table and tech stocks will rally tomorrow as investors can breathe a sigh of relief." However, the analyst feels that the Trump administration's imminent announcement of sectoral tariffs on semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and electronic products creates "mass confusion." "The mass confusion created by this constant news flow out of the White House is dizzying for the industry and investors, and creating massive uncertainty and chaos for companies trying to plan their supply chain, inventory, and demand." It is for this reason that some traders now feel we are not out of the woods just yet. This tariff news with Trump exempting phones, chips, and computers.. It's a crowded trade for the upside on Monday. Retail will chase this headline. Smart money will sell into the rally over the next 2 weeks. Like I said before..Short term we should see a decent bounce but… — EliteOptionsTrader (@EliteOptions2) April 12, 2025 For instance, one options market veteran with an experience of 14 years thinks that it will be "a crowded trade for the upside on Monday," and that he sees "one more bigger dip in the next 4-6 weeks." 0 Reacties 0 aandelen 28 Views
