Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PS5 Graphical Analysis – An Outstanding Port
Roughly a year ago, Microsoft began its initiative to roll out first-party Xbox titles to other platforms. Rumors were rife with all the big games coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch, and while Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves were notable, there was some disappointment over the titles that didn’t make it. However, within a few months, the overall sentiment changed – suddenly, nothing was off the table for Microsoft and it proved so by announcing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for PS5. Sure, it would launch several months after the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions, but the quantum shift had finally occurred. Cue the announcement of Forza Horizon 5 and the resurgence of rumors around titles like Starfield, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and more. PS5 players could finally experience franchises restricted to Xbox for years and, in some cases, decades. However, now that the Great Circle is almost here, launching on April 17th for Sony’s console, how does this version compare to other platforms? Let’s get this out of the way immediately – Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a gorgeous game. Developed on a fork of id Tech 7, it looked utterly gorgeous on PC and Xbox Series X when it launched, even with some players facing issues with the former’s system requirements at launch. Does all that visual splendor carry over to PS5? How about the performance? Thankfully, as with other Xbox releases on PS5, the Great Circle is an excellent port. There are some notable things to nitpick with the visuals, which can still be seen on the PC and Xbox Series X versions. Nevertheless, this is a great-looking game out of the box and the performance is rock-solid. The latter is notable primarily because Indiana Jones and the Great Circle runs at dynamic 4K resolution and targets 60 frames per second. The biggest attraction is the implementation of ray-traced global illumination and the results are truly exceptional. Indirect lighting naturally illuminates indoor locations, be it in buildings or caves, and the resulting shadows are sharp. Even if the resolution shifts during heavier scenes, the overall image quality and pixel count remain fairly high. Considering many other developers have struggled to deliver excellent visual fidelity and solid performance while implementing ray tracing, the Great Circle is definitely a stand-out. I have no idea how MachineGames optimized it to such an incredible extent on consoles, but that carries over to PS5 with nary a hitch. How do the console versions measure up to each other? For that matter, does the PS5 version beat out the Xbox Series X, when compared to the PC version, or are they more or less on the same page? Let’s find out. PS5 vs. Xbox Series X As you might have guessed by now, the differences are negligible. Such is the porting work that you’d be hard-pressed to notice many differences between the game on either console. The frame rate stays at a near-constant 60 frames per second during gameplay – some very minor drops can be observed rarely, but they hardly impact the overall flow. Loading times are also fairly similar – once you’ve chosen your settings and default difficulty, the transition to gameplay is nearly instant. Quitting to the main menu and resuming a save is seamless and takes no time on both platforms. Perhaps the most notable blemish is the pop-in, with some shadows and a few assets loading as you get closer. The overall draw distance and level of detail are still extremely impressive on consoles, and some may be hard-pressed to notice it during the more intense sequences. It’s during the exploration sequences, like walking through the jungle in the Prologue and venturing into the ruins or running around the larger open maps, that it becomes noticeable. Once again, it’s far from a deal-breaker – you’re still guaranteed immense amounts of fidelity backed by incredible performance. PS5 vs. PC It’s here the dynamic resolution vs. native 4K comparison becomes more noticeable. First off, our test rig consists of an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti, and 32 GB of RAM. For the settings, we set almost everything to the highest settings wherever applicable, be it Supreme or Ultra (though Volumetrics Quality is limited to Medium). Nvidia DLSS is employed and set to Quality Mode, with Dynamic Resolution not enabled. Needless to say, the PC version is the clear winner. Though some very minor frame drops are noticeable in certain areas, it stuck to 60 frames per second for most of our hands-on time while delivering a crisp resolution and excellent image quality. Some pop-in issues were still noticeable at times but didn’t hamper the experience. Though the dynamic resolution puts the PS5 (and, by extension, the Xbox Series X) version at a disadvantage, it’s only really apparent when directly matched up against a native 4K image like this. Otherwise, you’d be hard-pressed to notice any earth-shattering differences in visual fidelity. Which is a good thing, mind you. Another note on the PC version – despite not meeting the requirements for all Supreme/Ultra settings, it still offered an incredible visual experience. It speaks to MachineGames’ optimization in this regard, and though your mileage may vary, you’re still assured of excellent fidelity and performance. Conclusion However, the best part about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is that, besides being an excellent game, you’re not forced to choose a version (though maybe avoid playing on Xbox Series S). It performs well on Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC, balancing stellar performance with a nearly-locked 60 frames per second with incredible graphical quality that makes id Tech 7 shine. That it’s able to achieve all this with ray-traced global illumination enabled and sticking reasonably close to 4K on consoles makes it a technical marvel in many ways. Beyond the technical aspects, the Great Circle is notable for its art direction and cinematic presentation. The shot-for-shot remake of the opening for Raiders in the Prologue, the sheer visual splendor of locations like Egypt and the Himalayas – it’s a treat for fans of the franchise and action-adventure titles alike. Even in places with differing weather conditions like snowfall and rain, MachineGames is showing off with the sheer amount of detail that it stuffs into scenes. However, above all else, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a phenomenal game that’s faithful to the character and atmosphere of the films. It’s nostalgic yet stylized, incorporating that trademark Indy kitsch and charm while delivering a fun, original story with plenty of adventure, puzzle-solving, and mystery. If you haven’t played it on Xbox Series X or PC, there’s never been a better time now that it’s finally coming to PS5.

Zelda games on Switch 2 will include weapon repairs, but in the most Nintendo way
The Nintendo Switch 2 editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will include a highly requested feature: the ability to repair equipment like swords, shields, and bows. But Nintendo is not simply making this a straightforward, in-game item or available from a new NPC in the games. Switch 2 owners will instead need to rely on the Zelda Notes app feature — and random luck — for their equipment repairs. Nintendo briefly teased the equipment-repair feature in an overview trailer for the Switch 2 editions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom released on April 2. The video showed off the Zelda Notes’ daily bonus feature, which will reward players with perks like free meals or full refills of health, stamina, or energy cell power. Nintendo also hinted at “bow repairs.” A longer look at Zelda Notes during Nintendo’s Treehouse Live gameplay showcases, as highlighted by YouTuber Zeltik, revealed even more potential daily bonus rewards, including an “equipment repairs” bonus that applies to bows, melee weapons, and shields. That means that players could keep their basic weaponry in good working shape for longer, should they get lucky. Yes, luck will be involved in snagging equipment repairs through Zelda Notes. The daily bonus options offer just one roulette wheel-style spin every 24 hours, and it appears that players have 12 potential rewards available during each spin. So, actually landing on an equipment repair bonus seems rare, unless players figure out an exploit. Zelda Notes’ random bonuses are kind of similar to how amiibo figures will give players random rewards in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. But with the exception of equipment repairs, the options seem much more limited, and mainly look like minor perks. Still, the new daily bonus reward might be a boon to players who loathe Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom’s breakable weapons, a controversial (but understandable) choice enforced by the games’ designers. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom’s Nintendo Switch 2 editions will be released on June 5, the same day Nintendo Switch 2 launches. Zelda Notes will be available as part of the Nintendo Switch app (previously known as the Nintendo Switch Online app), which can be downloaded for free for Android and iOS devices.

How To Reclaim The Crown In The Throne Room In Blue Prince
Are you eager to reclaim the Throne Room in Blue Prince? Assuming you're able to draft this room, you'll notice an odd sight: You just know that you have to do something else here, but there are too few hints to go by. Well, our guide has all the details that you need. Just watch out because there will be major spoilers ahead. How to reclaim the crown in Blue Prince - Throne Room guideThe Throne Room isn't a location that's available by default. Instead, you have to unlock it first. Here's a quick summary:You must activate the Boiler Room. Then, you need to complete the Laboratory Puzzle. This reveals a hidden area called Blackbridge Grotto. It also happens to contain a Microchip. You then have to obtain all three Microchips so you can place them in the pedestal's indentations.Upon acquiring the Throne Room blueprint, it should appear as a rare drafting option inside the manor. Once you do enter it, you can obtain a Sanctum Key.The Throne Room's perk/effect simply states: "Reclaim the crown!" This vague hint doesn't mean a lot at all. However, if you look at various hints, you'll realize that you need to bring three objects: You must bring a crown, scepter, and stone to the Throne Room, all in a single run. What follows next is one of the most complex tasks in the game. It requires multiple attempts just so you could have a near-perfect run. As such, we recommend bookmarking this guide so you can refer to the all the details whenever you're stuck. Where to find the CrownThere are two crowns that we know of:The Crown of the Blueprints comes from Room 46 (after your first clear). The Red Crown comes from the Closed Exhibit. One of the items that you need if you want to reclaim the Throne Room in Blue Prince is the Crown of the Blueprints. This means one of your objectives in a single run is to have access to Room 46 just so you could grab it from the desk. Where to find the ScepterThe other objective is to find a scepter. There's one such item in the game, but it's part of a grueling task. Here's a quick summary:You must complete the Castle Cipher Puzzle in the crypt. This nets you the Key of Aries. You need the Key of Aries to open the Treasure Trove's secret chest, which only appears if the Treasure Trove is drafted outside. You'll then receive the Royal Scepter, an item whose gems can be changed, making rooms of that color appear more frequently as drawing options. Here's the important tidbit: Unlike most items in the game, you can keep the Royal Scepter in your inventory across multiple runs. The only requirement is that you must end your day in a room that matches its color. Oh, and for the Throne Room specifically, you need a blue Royal Scepter.Note: If you picked a color other than blue, then you need to get rid of the Royal Scepter. End the day in any other room besides the one that matches it. You then need to play a run where you can draft the Treasure Trove inside the manor. The Royal Scepter should be on the altar, and you can select the blue color this time. Just remember to end every run inside a blue room so you don't lose it again. Where to find the StoneLast but not least, the stone refers to the Cursed Effigy, which comes from the Shrine:Make sure you buy the Cursed Coffers item from the Gift Shop.Whenever you draft the Shrine, you'll see a stone chest off to the side.If you try to break open the lock using a Sledge Hammer, you'll receive a warning. You'll also be given a warning if you attempt to pick it up.If you don't heed these warnings and you still grab the statuette, you'll be cursed. The Cursed Effigy has debilitating effects which last for two days:You lose one step, key, gem, or gold whenever you draft a bedroom, hallway, green room, or shop, respectively. You lose one of every resource whenever you draft a red room.Needless to say, being cursed can put a damper on your plans. Thankfully, there's a workaround: You can place the Cursed Effigy in the Coat Check. You can retrieve it later when you're ready for your Throne Room run. We discuss this strategy further below. Reclaiming the crown in the Throne Room: Preparations - Banners and buffsIf you want to reclaim the crown in Blue Prince, then you have to be well-prepared. Here are a few tips so you can be ready for that near-perfect run in the future:Complete the Chess Puzzle and pick the King power. The Banner of the King lets you select a room color that appears more frequently whenever you draw options. You should choose the black color later in your run (we'll tell you why soon enough).Draft the Pool, followed by the Sauna, so you can gain the +20 steps buff the next day. You can also look at our how to gain more steps guide for other info. For the Billiards Room, perhaps you picked the upgrade that turns it into a Break Room. If you end your day in it, you're guaranteed to have a Keycard in your inventory the next day. Reclaiming the crown in the Throne Room: Preparations - Rerolls and starsRemember, your objective isn't just to make it inside Room 46. You also need to bring all the items to the Throne Room. This means properly drafting the rooms in the manor, and having to reroll a few times. There are multiple ways to gain additional Ivory Dice so you can redraw room options. These include the Boudoir, Laboratory experiments, and the Geist Room upgrade for the Guest Room (with bonus dice if you drafted a Tomb outside). The best method, however, involves the constellations and stars from the Observatory. If you have between 50 and 99 stars, you can interact with the telescope in the Observatory to activate the Inkwell constellation. It allows you to spend stars to reroll.Note that you must keep your stars below 100, since having 100 stars activates a different constellation. Your near-perfect Throne Room run: Bringing the Cursed Effigy and all the required itemsOkay, if you're ready to reclaim the Throne Room in Blue Prince, then here's what that near-perfect run entails:In a previous run--assuming you drafted a Coat Check (indoor) and Shrine (outdoor)--break the chest in the Shrine using a Sledge Hammer. Then, take the Cursed Effigy and store it in the Coat Check. In a previous run, you should've acquired the Royal Scepter and picked the blue color: This makes blue rooms appear more frequently as options.Remember to end the day in a blue room so you can keep the Royal Scepter in your inventory.Bonus points if you ended the day in the Break Room upgrade for the Billiards/Darts Room, since you'll start with a Keycard on your next run.In your Throne Room run, carefully plot a path that leads to the Antechamber and Room 46.Other Antechamber doors - The Secret Garden is the most reliable method. Alternatively, you can draft a Foyer followed by the Great Hall to ensure that all rooms are unlocked and you don't waste your regular keys.Room 46 door - You don't need to go down the Foundation anymore just to pull the lever. The Throne Room has a lever behind the throne itself. As for the Coat Check (with the Cursed Effigy) and the Throne Room (where you need to bring all three items):Draft the Coat Check near the Antechamber or near where you plan on placing the Throne Room. Do not take out the Cursed Effigy yet.Draft the Throne Room near the Antechamber. You can activate your Banner of the King power via your inventory to select the black color. This may offset all the blue rooms that you keep getting.Pull the lever behind the throne so you can unlock the northern Antechamber door. Go ahead and grab the Crown of the Blueprints inside Room 46.Once you're ready, retrieve the Stone Effigy from the Coat Check. You will lose resources, and you will be left with just a few steps remaining. But here's the fun part: If you already got the crown from Room 46, you won't need to draft additional rooms that trigger the debuff. If you drafted the Throne Room beforehand and it's close by, you can make it with just a few steps.Basically, if you retrieve the Stone Effigy from the Coat Check later in your run, the curse itself becomes negligible. Now, you've got all the three items that you need. Reclaiming the Throne Room: Reward - The Throne of the Blue PrinceGo ahead and enter the Throne Room once you have all three items: Crown of the Blueprints, Royal Scepter (blue), and Cursed Effigy. A mesmerizing cutscene will play.We don't want to spoil all the details, but you will receive a cool reward: The Throne of the Blue Prince. This is essentially an "ascended" version of the Throne Room, which turns it into the color blue. There are a few tidbits to discuss now that you've reclaimed the crown in the Throne Room in Blue Prince:Since the Throne Room has a blue color, you can find a hidden note if (a) you unlocked the Blue Tents from the Gift Shop and (b) you managed to draft the Throne Room in row/rank 8 of the manor. There's a Mora Jai puzzle on the desk that you can solve. The Throne Room has this nifty effect once placed in the manor: Upon drafting eight blue rooms in a row, you permanently unlock all special blue doors--i.e. the ones with a holly symbol. So, where should you go next? Well, we're glad you asked. You can head over to our (very spoiler-filled) Blue Door guide.A surreal adventure filled with wonders and mysteries await you in Blue Prince. If ever you feel stuck or lost at any point in time in your playthrough, don't forget to check our Blue Prince guides hub.

Apex Legends: How Alter's Rework Compares to Her Original Kit
When Alter launched in Apex Legends Season 21, many players expected her to double down on Wraith’s portals and shake up the meta with her mobility-focused and team-repositioning kit. Yet, despite her flashy Tactical and the potential of her Ultimate, Alter often felt awkward in practice. Void Passage's single charge and short range frequently led to clumsy engagements, and many players had no clue how to utilize Void Nexus when an Alter teammate deployed it.

How to solve the Room 8 puzzle in Blue Prince
Room 8 is a room in Blue Prince that you can only unlock with Key 8 on rank 8. You’ll find that key by solving the Gallery puzzle(s). In Room 8, you’ll have to puzzle out clues on eight animal statues and place them in eight bins labeled with sins. Our Blue Prince guide will show you how to solve the Room 8 puzzle and tell you what you get as a reward. How to solve the Room 8 puzzle in Blue Prince Room 8 is a pretty exact match for the final painting in the Gallery. You’ll find a big infinity symbol in the center of the room surrounded by bins labeled with sins. There’s a painting of a fin on the left wall, and a rug (skin) on the floor (those are both clues you’ll need). To the left of the door as you walk in, you’ll find eight animal statues with phrases on them. Solving the puzzle in Room 8 is a simple (ha!) as placing the eight animal statues in the boxes their clue describes. Several of them have clues that point to multiple bins, though. The clues are: Penguin: The sum of my sin, as it is penned, is a number within the room we are in Lion: To first begin, place me within a bin with an “N” within its sin Swan: I recommend you think again if I am ever in a bin far from the fin Dog: You won’t find my bin in between sin, for I deserve to be in a bin down on the end Elephant: To my chagrin, my neighbor’s sin is written thin to fit it all in Rabbit: I share a trend with my neighbor’s sin: a letter and its twin appear on each bin Bear: If we spend a min or ten lounging in the den, you’ll know which bin I’m often in Monkey: The bin I tend to wind up in is near the bend in the tail of the skin Room 8 solution in Blue Prince You have to jump around a bit, but the list of clues only has one answer when you take them all together. Four of the clues point to only one bin: Penguin – GLUTTONY. This is the only sin with eight (sideways infinity) letters. Monkey – HUBRIS. The bin next to the tail of the skin (rug). Dog – MUNDANITY. Since the Monkey is in HUBRIS, the Dog has to go in MUNDANITY at the other end of the row of bins. Bear – SLOTH. The bear’s clue is all about just hanging out and relaxing. With those four in place, you can place two more: Lion – ENVY. With those three out of the way, only one empty sin has an “N.” Swan – LUST. This is the only bin left that is close to the painting of the fin. The last two have a bit more logic involved: Rabbit – AVARICE. AVARICE is next to MUNDANITY — which both have a repeated (twin) letter (A and N, respectively). Elephant – WRATH. Aside from being the only empty bin, AVARICE is next to Gluttony with its (fittingly) narrow letters. Or if you’d like to see the full solution, check out the graphic below: Room 8 reward in Blue Prince When you get all of the statues in their correct bins, a panel will open in the wall where the statues were. Inside, you’ll find two Allowance Tokens and the Infinity Trophy that will be displayed in the Trophy Room. You’ll also get the Trophy 8 achievement or trophy.
