GAMINGBOLT.COM15 Games That Turned It Around After a Rough LaunchThe history of video games is littered with titles that were average on release, owing to game breaking, bug-filled experiences, distinct lack of content, or a misconception which unfairly derided a game before it even hit the stores. In the modern era, however, subsequently patching a game to realise it’s pre-release promise has become commonplace, and whilst this practice isn’t excusable it does mean that some games that underwhelmed at launch becoming deserving of second chances. Here’re fifteen such games. Cyberpunk 2077 Have you heard? Cyberpunk 2077 is good now, or, at least, the game it should have been instead of the dumpster fire that ranks amongst the most high-profile game launch disasters back in 2020. CD Projekt Red have been furrowing away since, releasing a string of excellent updates which not only present Night City in a playable state but overhaul, rebalance, and improve combat, netrunning capability, skill progression, cyberware integration, vehicle handling, and so on. Together with the thrilling Phantom Liberty DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 is a phoenix risen from ashes.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 55 Views

WWW.THEVERGE.COMWikipedia is giving AI developers its data to fend off bot scrapersWikipedia is attempting to dissuade artificial intelligence developers from scraping the platform by releasing a dataset that’s specifically optimized for training AI models. The Wikimedia Foundation announced on Wednesday that it had partnered with Kaggle — a Google-owned data science community platform that hosts machine learning data — to publish a beta dataset of “structured Wikipedia content in English and French.” Wikimedia says the dataset hosted by Kaggle has been “designed with machine learning workflows in mind,” making it easier for AI developers to access machine-readable article data for modeling, fine-tuning, benchmarking, alignment, and analysis. The content within the dataset is openly licensed, and as of April 15th, includes research summaries, short descriptions, image links, infobox data, and article sections — minus references or non-written elements like audio files. The “well-structured JSON representations of Wikipedia content” available to Kaggle users should be a more attractive alternative to “scraping or parsing raw article text” according to Wikimedia — an issue that’s currently putting strain on Wikipedia’s servers as automated AI bots relentlessly consume the platform’s bandwidth. Wikimedia already has content sharing agreements in place with Google and the Internet Archive, but the Kaggle partnership should make that data more accessible for smaller companies and independent data scientists. “As the place the machine learning community comes for tools and tests, Kaggle is extremely excited to be the host for the Wikimedia Foundation’s data,” said Kaggle partnerships lead Brenda Flynn. “Kaggle is excited to play a role in keeping this data accessible, available, and useful.”0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 64 Views

WWW.IGN.COMPokemon Squishmallows Get a Massive Discount at Amazon, But It'll Expire SoonThe Pokémon range of Squishmallows makes for some of the best franchise plushies around, and Amazon has made them better by letting you buy certain 14-inch ultra-soft Pocket Monsters for as low as $6.06, in a price cut on certain ones. That lowest price tag in particular is for Marill, arguably the best bargain among the bunch due to the Gen-2 Water-type's popularity. Originally, $17.49, that is a huge 65% saving before taking taxes plus shipping & handling, into account. 9TO5MAC.COMYou’ll soon be able to buy this Severance-inspired keyboardNot long after Severance’s second season ended, Apple’s website jokingly listed the “Lumon Terminal Pro” as part of its Mac lineup. It turns out though, one part of that product is actually being created: there’s a real-life, Severance-inspired “MDR Dasher Keyboard” in the works, and you can sign up to be the first notified when it launches. Severance-inspired keyboard supports USB-C and macOS, but lacks Escape key The iconic Severance keyboard used by its severed MDR (Macrodata Refinement) team could one day be your keyboard of choice. Atomic Keyboard has announced that it’s building the MDR Dasher Keyboard as a real mechanical keyboard compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux. It will include a USB-C connection, but lack several traditional keys. In proper severed style, there’s no ‘Escape’ key. Nor will you get standard function keys, since Lumon’s keyboard has its own custom alternatives. Here’s Atomic with more details: The keyboard has become a symbol of the show’s distinctive aesthetic and themes. The absence of escape keys mirrors the employees’ inability to escape their work situation, while the specialized function keys represent the compartmentalized and controlled nature of the severed floor. Mechanical keyboard enthusiasts appreciate the vintage-inspired design, unique keycap profiles, and the tactile, satisfying typing experience suggested by the show. The keyboard embodies both retro computing nostalgia and the show’s unique dystopian aesthetic. “Please try to enjoy each keystroke equally.” Outside of the information listed above, details on the keyboard are fairly minimal at this point. For example, there’s not yet an official launch price. The page where you can sign up for Atomic’s mailing list lists $399 as the keyboard’s price, but then crosses that number out and says ‘Final Price TBD’ next to it. If you’re interested in getting your hands on a Severance-style keyboard though, this could be a compelling product. It also makes me really hope Apple is considering making its own official version too, perhaps ahead of Severance season 3’s premiere? Are you interested in buying a Severance-inspired mechanical keyboard, and what would you pay for it? Let us know in the comments. Best iPhone accessories Add 9to5Mac to your Google News feed. THEHACKERNEWS.COMCritical Erlang/OTP SSH Vulnerability (CVSS 10.0) Allows Unauthenticated Code ExecutionApr 17, 2025Ravie LakshmananVulnerability / Network Security A critical security vulnerability has been disclosed in the Erlang/Open Telecom Platform (OTP) SSH implementation that could permit an attacker to execute arbitrary code sans any authentication under certain conditions. The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2025-32433, has been given the maximum CVSS score of 10.0. "The vulnerability allows an attacker with network access to an Erlang/OTP SSH server to execute arbitrary code without prior authentication," Ruhr University Bochum researchers Fabian Bäumer, Marcus Brinkmann, Marcel Maehren, and Jörg Schwenk said. The issue stems from improper handling of SSH protocol messages that essentially permit an attacker to send connection protocol messages prior to authentication. Successful exploitation of the shortcomings could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the SSH daemon. Further exacerbating the risk, if the daemon process is running as root, it enables the attacker to have full control of the device, in turn, paving the way for unauthorized access to and manipulation of sensitive data or denial-of-service (DoS). All users running an SSH server based on the Erlang/OTP SSH library are likely affected by CVE-2025-32433. It's recommended to update to versions OTP-27.3.3, OTP-26.2.5.11, and OTP-25.3.2.20. As temporary workarounds, access to vulnerable SSH servers can be prevented using appropriate firewall rules. In a statement shared with The Hacker News, Mayuresh Dani, manager of security research at Qualys, described the vulnerability as extremely critical and that it can allow a threat actor to perform actions such as installing ransomware or siphoning off sensitive data. "Erlang is frequently found installed on high-availability systems due to its robust and concurrent processing support," Dani said. "A majority of Cisco and Ericsson devices run Erlang." "Any service using Erlang/OTP's SSH library for remote access such as those used in OT/IoT devices, edge computing devices are susceptible to exploitation. Upgrading to the fixed Erlang/OTP or vendor-supported versions will remediate the vulnerability. Should organizations need more time to install upgrades, they should restrict SSH port access to authorized users alone." Found this article interesting?
