It looks like Microsoft is also working on making Copilot more than just an assistant and has now brought ahead a new feature in Copilot Studio that is called "computer use:" which would allow AI agents to use websites and apps just like a human would. The reason why this is a big leap is that the tech giant is paving the way for AI agents to automate tasks even if there are no built-in integrations or APIs available. Businesses can use this feature to build agents in the Copilot Studio that are able to fill reports, log into websites, or even handle customer service tasks. By taking action on behalf of the user, the platform automatically becomes more capable. A senior leader at Microsoft, Charles Lamanna, says that the new feature is meant to make AI agents appear like real users as they would able to click, choose, and type information just like a person would. While explaining, Lamanna stated: This allows agents to handle tasks even when there is no API available to connect to the system directly. If a person can use the app, the agent can too. Microsoft's new update is meant to make AI agents smarter and more reliable, especially when automating real-world tasks. Whether invoices need to be processed, market research needs to be performed, or data needs to be entered across websites, Copilot Studio can now be used to create AI agents that can handle these tasks. The feature's most interesting part is the AI agents' ability to adapt to changing interfaces, leading to more dependable automation. Microsoft had a similar feature called Actions introduced a while back, which allowed users to let the Copilot handle tasks in the background so that they could focus on other tasks. Kelley Heyer, an actor and TikTok content creator, has sued Roblox over the usage and sale of her copyrighted dance to “Apple” by pop star Charli XCX — a dance that went viral on TikTok and even became a part of Charli XCX’s live show. Heyer filed the lawsuit in California on April 11, alleging that she and Roblox were in negotiations to officially license the dance in Roblox; however, Roblox released the emote before negotiations were finalized, and they never came to pass. Roblox added the dance emote in mid-August, coinciding with a Dress to Impress update that added everything Brat (Charli XCX’s summer hit album) to the game on Aug. 17. Heyer first posted the “Apple” dance on June 15, 2024 and submitted a copyright application for it on Aug. 30. That was after Roblox contacted her to license the dance, which came after Charli XCX’s label contracted Roblox to get the artist in Dress to Impress. Heyer said she was willing to license the dance on Aug. 12, per the lawsuit. But the dance was released before the negotiations were finalized. Heyer said in the lawsuit that Roblox has “refused to finalize a license agreement” and to compensate Heyer for her dance. “Roblox moved forward using Kelley’s IP without a signed agreement,” attorney Miki Anzai said in a statement to Polygon. “Kelley is an independent creator who should be compensated fairly for her work and we saw no other option than to file suit to prove that. We remain willing and open to settle and hope to come to a peaceful agreement.” The “Apple” dance is no longer available for sale on Roblox — it was sold until November 2024. Heyer said in the lawsuit that Roblox sold “in excess of 60,000 units of the Apple Dance emote” and earned “an estimated $123,000” in sales. “As the Apple Dance emote comprises solely of the Apple Dance choreography, completely separate and distinct from the Charli XCX song, the sole ‘artist’ for purposes of the emote is Ms. Heyer,” lawyers wrote in the complaint. Heyer’s “Apple” dance was licensed correctly in Fortnite, added in December and sold as an emote. Heyer said Netflix has licensed its usage, too. Heyer is looking to the court to award her Roblox’s profits on the dance, as well as other damages. Epic Games has been sued several times in the past over its usage of popular or viral dances as emotes in the battle royale game; five lawsuits were dismissed in 2019, including one filed by Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor Alfonso Ribeiro. One of the more recent lawsuits, filed by choreographer Kyle Hanagami, was dismissed and appealed; the 9th Circuit reversed the dismissal and revived the argument that “reducing choreography to ‘poses’ would be akin to reducing music to just ‘notes,’” per the appeals court. Both sides agreed to dismiss the lawsuit in 2024. It’s now quite common for Epic Games to license dances, like Heyer’s “Apple” dance, for inclusion in Fortnite. The company omitted the Android version from its April 2025 Android Security Bulletin, which notes security vulnerabilities Google has identified and patched, and as well as which versions of Android receive those patches. The company highlights Android 13, 14, and 15 across a number of different vulnerabilities, but not Android 12.The outlet isn't basing this news off these omissions alone: Android Authority reports that Google dropped support for Android 12 and 12L as of March 31, based on a source that says the company ended security patch backports for those versions on that date. Backporting is when a developer takes a security patch from a newer version of software and adds it to an older version of that software. It seems Google had been doing that for Android 12 from newer versions of Android, but as of the end of March, has stopped. Google hasn't said exactly why it is ending support for Android 12 at this time, but it almost assuredly has to do with the OS' age. The company released the version (codenamed Snow Cone) back in October of 2021. It was a relatively big update for Android, notably introducing "Material You" to devices for the first time. Material You significantly changed the look of Android, adjusting UI elements, app icons, and applying a universal theme based on the colors of your wallpaper. The update also included a number of privacy settings as well as a handful of new gesture controls. According to Android Authority, Google stops most Android OS backporting around three and a half years after release, so this timing tracks.
