Nike Hyperboot isn’t another performance shoe, it’s the ultimate recovery gear for serious athletes
If you run a few miles every morning, play football regularly, or spend occasional time on the track, you know the importance of a recovery footwear. It allows the body to recuperate, providing relief to the feet, ankles, and knees. While most of the available shoes/slides meant for recovery cost under a $100, they are well within the range we can afford. It is not the case with the new Nike x Hyperice Hyperboot. It costs a staggering $899, and is therefore only something serious athletes would put their money on. Nike and Hyperice both obsess about the athletes. They create and innovative, putting an athlete at the center of the idea. Such is the case with Hyperboot, which reimagines what a recovery shoe can be and how it can better assist an athlete in warm-up and recovery. It is a silhouette that uses heat and compression in tandem to help with the foot recovery. And since it’s from Nike, rest assured it is made from premium footwear materials, which should together with the imbibed tech, justify the tag. Designer: Nike x Hyperice For every athlete competing at the world stage – or even for the other competitive performers – recovery is most important to get their bodies ready for the next day. It is also equally imperative for them to warm-up the body, especially the feet and legs, to avoid injuries and perform better. This is what Nike x Hyperice intends to provide with the Hyperboot: A shoe that combines Nike’s footwear experience with the Hyperice expertise in recovery technologies. The Hyperboot is built ground up for a purpose. Therefore, performance was never a question with this silhouette. The idea was always focused on helping the wearer recover, for which Hyperice had to stick within the Nike shoe design and integrate recovery tech into it, without changing the elegance of the shoe. So, for the interplay of design and functionality, the Hyperboot uses dynamic air compression to provide, recovery essentials, heat, and compression around the Achilles and the heel area of the wearer. Using the air compression, the shoe is able to drive heat deeper into body, which can better assist with the warm-up and recovery process of an athlete. With the better mobility in the joint and deeper penetration of heat into the tissues, the Hypeboot can create a wonderful recuperating experience, which not only helps around the foot but also allows the heat to travel up to the calf and the leg for more relief and comfort. Athletes can customize compression intensity and temperature modules to their preference pre- and post-workout using the Hyperice App. Interestingly, the Hyperboot is not only about recovery, its midsole and outsole are designed to increase toe spring and add the heel spring, which makes it feel lighter when worn. For further stability and comfort, the shoe is high ankle, has an engineered mesh upper for breathability, and features removable insoles. Releasing May 17, 2025, this recovery silhouette for serious athletes will set you back $899. Once Human Cross-Platform Progression Details Revealed, Out on April 23
Developer Starry Studio has revealed details about its planned update for Once Human that will bring cross-platform progression to the game. In a post on Steam, the studio has revealed how the game’s account system will work across various versions of the title, as well as potential limitations. For PC players that might want to play on the iOS or Android version of Once Human, they would be perfectly fine if they were to login to the smartphone versions of the game with their Loading Bay account, or linked Steam or Epic Games account. Players for whom the primary platform is iOS and Android, however, will be more restricted in terms of cross-platform progression and the accounts they can use. For players that started the title on smartphones, only the Loading Bay account is seemingly supported for carrying over progression to PC. Steam and Epic Games accounts aren’t yet supported for the feature. Cross-platform progression will be coming to Once Human through a free update slated for April 23. The update will be coming to all versions of the game across PC, Android and iOS. A major update was released for Once Human back in March, which brought with dedicated trading zones to the game. Thanks the update, players now no longer have to worry about other players’ vending machines cluttering the various hub areas in the game. Rather, the update added the Harvesters’ Markets, which acts as the official trading zone for the game. “In Nalcott, trading plays a crucial role in fostering social connections,” wrote the studio when it announced the update. “Not only does it help you acquire new items, but it can also spark friendships with people you might never have encountered otherwise.” The dedicated market zones were added to the game after the addition of permanent scenario servers in March. While the game automatically shut down the scenario servers after players had completed the scenarios in the past, the update brought with it the ability for players to stay in the scenario server longer. March also brought with it another major update that started allowing players to share their various resources between different players. Thanks to this update, players now no longer have to grind up materials for their characters individually. Rather, players can simply share their resources between all of t heir characters. “Aggregating these resources would create a significant and insurmountable gap between players who focus on one character and those who play multiple characters,” explained the studio. “Using the data of the character with the highest Blueprint Collection level ensures that all other characters on your account will enjoy an increase in Blueprint Collection level, allowing you to create and use new characters more freely. If you have invested in multiple characters, we will offer Starchrom compensation based on aggregate Blueprint Collection levels of your other characters.” Once Human is a free-to-play multiplayer game available on PC, Android and iOS. Check out our review from back when the title launched for more details. While you’re at it, also check out our interview with the studio.

NASA snaps detailed photos of ‘strikingly complicated’ asteroid
NASA’s Lucy spacecraft had its second rendezvous with an asteroid over the weekend, this time with the uniquely named Donaldjohanson space rock. On April 20, the probe’s Lucy Long-Range Reconnaissance Imager (L’LORRI) traveled within about 600 miles of the elongated asteroid while snapping images at roughly two-second intervals. The results showcase the asteroid’s “strikingly complicated geology,” according to Hal Levison, Lucy’s principal investigator at the Southwest Research Institute. “As we study the complex structures in detail, they will reveal important information about the building blocks and collisional processes that formed the planets in our Solar System,” Levison added in a NASA statement on April 21. The asteroid Donaldjohanson as seen by the Lucy Long-Range Reconnaissance Imager (L’LORRI) on NASA’s Lucy spacecraft during its flyby. This timelapse shows images captured approximately every 2 seconds beginning at 1:50 p.m. EDT (17:50 UTC), April 20, 2025. The asteroid rotates very slowly; its apparent rotation here is due to the spacecraft’s motion as it flies by Donaldjohanson at a distance of 1,000 to 660 miles (1,600 to 1,100 km). The spacecraft’s closest approach distance was 600 miles (960 km), but the images shown were taken approximately 40 seconds beforehand, the nearest ones at a distance of 660 miles (1100 km). Credit: NASA / Goddard / SwRI / Johns Hopkins APL The first close look at Donaldjohanson appears to confirm astronomers’ previous observations, particularly its 10-day brightness variation period. The photos depict an elongated asteroid that likely formed from after the collision of two smaller bodies. That said, researchers noted the unique neck shape connecting Donaldjohanson’s two lobes. The asteroid also appears to be larger than initial estimates—measuring about 5 miles long and 2 miles wide. Donaldjohanson was actually wider than Lucy’s field of view, and it will take about a week for the remaining data to downlink to Earth. This additional information will be parsed from information collected by L’Ralph color imager and infrared spectrometer as well as the L’TES thermal infrared spectrometer. Lucy’s latest asteroid encounter took place roughly 16 months after passing within 230 miles of Dinkinesh (aka “Dinky”) and its “baby asteroid” satellite, Selam. Donaldjohanson is the second of 10 asteroids scheduled to be studied on Lucy’s 12-year-long mission. “The potential to really open a new window into the history of our solar system when Lucy gets to the Trojan asteroids is immense,” said Tom Statler, a NASA program scientist for the Lucy mission.Lucy will now spend most of the rest of 2025 hurtling through the solar system’s main asteroid belt as it closes in on its main target–the Jupiter Trojan asteroid Eurybates. The spacecraft’s final flyby is on track to take place in August 2027. The post NASA snaps detailed photos of ‘strikingly complicated’ asteroid appeared first on Popular Science.

Any advice for improving the lighting for this shot? Wanna make it look a bit more realistic.
The final video this is going to be used in is gonna be very low quality, and have an old grain filter thrown over it, so I dont think the materials need improvements, theyre detailed enough for the use case. But I feel the lighting could be improved, any tips? submitted by /u/WiglyPig [link] [comments]
