Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director says fans don't want DLC as much as they want Part 3
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director says fans don't want DLC as much as they want Part 3"That's why we've decided not to focus resources on creating DLC at the moment."Image credit: Square Enix / Eurogamer News by Vikki Blake Contributor Published on Nov. 24, 2024 Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will not be getting any significant story-led DLC.That's according to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi, who told the Daily Star that whilst he's aware that the fan community would like an expansion like Episode Intermission, the team's focus is instead on Part 3 in order to get it out "as quickly as possible".Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - Destined for Rebirth.Watch on YouTube"We definitely do hear the desire from fans, the voices out there that want that kind of thing," Hamaguchi said in the interview."I understand it completely, but I think, from my perspective, what the fans really want to see the most is not necessarily DLC. They want to see the third part of the series as quickly as possible."So that's why we've decided not to focus the development resources on creating additional extra episodes for DLC at the moment," Hamaguichi added."We really are putting all our efforts into getting the third game out as quickly as we can. So for the moment, that's where we're focusing our time."Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi also recently said he deliberately intended for the game's ending to cause debate and keep players guessing until the trilogy's forthcoming conclusion.Speaking to Eurogamer's own Ed Nightingale, Hamaguchi discussed fan reaction to the game's divisive ending and how he wanted to avoid fan service with its development.

Her pharmacy had the drugs in stock. And her health insurance covered all but $25 to $50 of the monthly cost. For Griffin, the hardest part of using the new drugs wasnt access. It was finding out that the much-hyped medications didnt really work for her. I have been on Wegovy for a year and a half and have only lost 13 pounds, said Griffin, who watches her diet, drinks plenty of water and exercises regularly. Ive done everything right with no success. Its discouraging. In clinical trials, most participants taking Wegovy or Mounjaro to treat obesity lost an average of 15% to 22% of their body weight up to 50 pounds or more in many cases. But roughly 10% to 15% of patients in those trials were nonresponders who lost less than 5% of their body weight. Now that millions of people have used the drugs, several obesity experts told The Associated Press that perhaps 20% of patients as many as 1 in 5 may not respond well to the medications. Its a little-known consequence of the obesity drug boom, according to doctors who caution eager patients not to expect one-size-fits-all results. RELATED COVERAGE Its all about explaining that different people have different responses, said Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, an obesity expert at Massachusetts General HospitalThe drugs are known as GLP-1 receptor agonists because they mimic a hormone in the body known as glucagon-like peptide 1. Genetics, hormones and variability in how the brain regulates energy can all influence weight and a persons response to the drugs, Stanford said. Medical conditions such as sleep apnea can prevent weight loss, as can certain common medications, such as antidepressants, steroids and contraceptives. This is a disease that stems from the brain, said Stanford. The dysfunction may not be the same from patient to patient.Despite such cautions, patients are often upset when they start getting the weekly injections but the numbers on the scale barely budge. It can be devastating, said Dr. Katherine Saunders, an obesity expert at Weill Cornell Medicine and co-founder of the obesity treatment company FlyteHealth. With such high expectations, theres so much room for disappointment. That was the case for Griffin, who has battled obesity since childhood and hoped to shed 70 pounds using Wegovy. The drug helped reduce her appetite and lowered her risk of diabetes, but she saw little change in weight. Its an emotional roller coaster, she said. You want it to work like it does for everybody else. The medications are typically prescribed along with eating behavior and lifestyle changes. Its usually clear within weeks whether someone will respond to the drugs, said Dr. Jody Dushay, an endocrine specialist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Weight loss typically begins right away and continues as the dosage increases. For some patients, that just doesnt happen. For others, side effects such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea force them to halt the medications, Dushay said. In such situations, patients who were counting on the new drugs to pare pounds may think theyre out of options.I tell them: Its not game over, Dushay said. Trying a different version of the new class of drugs may help. Griffin, who didnt respond well to Wegovy, has started using Zepbound, which targets an additional hormone pathway in the body. After three months of using the drug, she has lost 7 pounds. Im hoping its slow and steady, she said. Other people respond well to older drugs, the experts said. Changing diet, exercise, sleep and stress habits can also have profound effects. Figuring out what works typically requires a doctor trained to treat obesity, Saunders noted. Obesity is such a complex disease that really needs to be treated very comprehensively, she said. If what were prescribing doesnt work, we always have a backup plan.___The Associated Press Health and Science Department receives support from the Howard Hughes Medical Institutes Science and Educational Media Group. Most Gen Zers are terrified of AI taking their jobs. Their bosses consider themselves immune
The first generation to grow up with the internet wants everyone to just hold their horses. Gen Zers, keenly aware of how quickly techs latest innovations can grow out of control, feel some anxiety when it comes to AI.A staggering 62% of them believe that AI could replace their jobs within the next decade, according to recent surveys of 1,180 employed adults in the U.S. and 393 executives in the U.K. conducted by General Assembly, a technology education provider. It turns out that while the younger and more vulnerable generations are shaking in their boots, most CEOs are not batting an eye. Just 6% of directors and VP-level executives believe that AI poses a threat to their job, according to the survey results.Gen Z AI anxiety meets CEO serenityJunior workers are likely feeling more threatened than executives because they have less leverage and no seat at the table, including when it comes to layoffs and how AI affects their companies in general. This past year many CEOs have proven more than willing to use AI as a scapegoat for trimming headcounts. From May last year to this February, more than 4,600 job cuts were made in the U.S. in the name of AI, according to a report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas, though the outplacement firms senior vice president tells Bloomberg that thats certainly undercounting.Gen Zers might also be more anxious given how early on they are in their career. The generally remedial nature of many junior jobs makes this generation more vulnerable to change, according to Lupe Colangelo, director of alumni engagement and employer partnerships at General Assembly.AI is able to perform many of the repetitive, low-level tasks that were typically handled by entry-level workers, she wrote in a statement to Fortune. Understandably, younger generations are anxious about this. Seasoned executives and managers, on the other hand, bring years of experience and context to the table that AI cant quite replicateat least not yet.Nvidias billionaire CEO Jensen Huang echoed as much. When asked at Nvidias October AI Summit if he thought AI could replace his job, he said absolutely not. Suggesting that AI can do 20% to 50% of ones job, he suggested that the person who uses AI to automate that 20% is going to take your job.Explaining that Gen Zers bring a unique perspective to the workplace that shouldnt be discounted, Colangelo added that employers are complaining about this generations lack of soft skills surrounding communication and time management. These soft skills become even more important as AI automates more independent work, she added. The younger generations tend to be the most concerned about the potentiality of AI stepping on their toes. Half of millennials think theres at least some chance AI could replace their role, compared to 44% of Gen Xers and just 24% of baby boomers, according to data sent to Fortune.Even if boomers arent worried for themselves, they have a responsibility to lend a hand to the future, believes Colangelo. With AI taking on more entry-level work, employers have a greater responsibility to train the next generation, she said. Companies need to offer them a way through the door.Employers simply cant walk away from an entire generation, she added, arguing that they need to help build the skills that they desire in the current talent pool. How many degrees of separation are you from the globe's most powerful business leaders? The Silent Hill 2 remake has players figuring out morse code now, as even more secret messages have been discovered
Dot And Line UpThe Silent Hill 2 remake has players figuring out morse code now, as even more secret messages have been discoveredThis baby can hide so many secrets, you don't even know the half of it.Image credit: Bloober Team/VG247 News by Oisin Kuhnke Contributor Published on Nov. 24, 2024 You thought the Silent Hill 2 remake only had one hidden message? Think again, as players have found more. One of the big things that has helped the Silent Hill series last in the minds of fans for so many years after the peak of its popularity, is that the games are just full of secrets. There's so many weird things to discover, often creepy, obviously, and the recent remake of Silent Hill 2 is no different. Players quite quickly found a hidden message that the game's own devs thought was maybe even too obtuse to ever be figured out, and that same message pointed towards a long-held theory that protagonist James Sunderland is stuck in a time loop. Now, players have seemingly found another couple of hidden messages, one of which seems to feed into that same theory.Watch on YouTubeA YouTube account that goes by Shiba shared a video of the first message, explaining that "A message is playing on the TV in Brookhaven Hospital, transmitted in morse code. The sound is mostly drowned out by the static from the TV, making it difficult to hear clearly. However, the Morse code is distinct, with a clicking sound that resembles a telegraph. The loud clicks mark the beginning of a signal, while the softer click signals its end. If we listen closely, we can decipher the following message." That message? "Again and." The morse code signal just plays forever in the background, over and over, again seemingly a reference to the time loop theory. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. The other message is found on a similar TV in the Woodside Apartments section, again in morse code, this time spelling out "why did you do it James?" I won't spoil this one for those of you that haven't played the original or the remake, but those who know, know. I'm sure there'll be even more messages to find, so keep at it, all you clever Silent Hill fans.

Good news, Stalker 2 fans, that much needed first patch is on the way, and GSC Game World has shared what you can expect from it
Here It Comes!Good news, Stalker 2 fans, that much needed first patch is on the way, and GSC Game World has shared what you can expect from itThis should make for a smoother experience. News by Oisin Kuhnke Contributor Published on Nov. 24, 2024 Stalker 2 is obviously struggling with some bugs at the moment, but GSC Game World has shared word of an incoming patch that should fix some of them. When Stalker 2 finally arrived earlier this week, it arrived in a bit of a rough state, though our own Connor was able to forgive all that in his review of the game. The game did receive a bit of a mixed reaction elsewhere, but it has been doing very well on Steam, and modders quickly got to work on that stuttering issue. Thankfully, there are some official improvements on the way too, as over on the game's official Steam page, developer GSC Game World has shared that a patch will be arriving in the next week, the first one post-launch.To see this content please enable targeting cookies. "The game has been out for several days now (its still surreal to say that), and weve been following your feedback in all possible forms carefully," the post reads. "To the more than one million stalkers in the Zone, thanks for playing that means the world to us. We are sure you have things to handle in the Zone, but so do we." The post doesn't go into a huge amount of detail towards every single issue the game has, but it does have a good overview of what you can expect from the patch. For one, some crash fixes are coming, for things like memory allocation failures. Main question progression will also be tightened up to get rid of bugs blocking progressions, with things like NPCs getting stuck in objects or there being incorrect quest markers. You can expect some gameplay and balance adjustments, like NPC behaviour and weapon price changes, as well as some cutscene and visual fixes. There's a few other details, but you can read those for yourself.Importantly, a note was also shared at the end about a couple of issues that'll be addressed in future patches, one of those being analogue sticks having some dead zones in certain cases. The other is for the game's A-Life system, which has been a sticking point for a lot of players - there's no word on when the patch for these issues is coming, so you'll just have to hold out for a while longer.
