• How to get Mew in Pokmon TCG Pocket
    www.polygon.com
There are a number of ways to get Mew in Pokmon TCG Pocket you can get one type of Mew card from the Genetic Apex expansion, and five types in December 2024s Mythical Island expansion. For the Genetic Apex version of Mew, you cant simply pull the card from the expansions booster packs. Instead, you must complete a hidden mission called Complete the Kanto Pokdex. The Mythical Island versions of Mew, however, are acquired more traditionally.Heres how to get Mew in Pokmon TCG Pocket, and learn some tips to unlock Mew faster. How to get Mew in Pokmon TCG Pockets Genetic Apex expansionTo get Mew in Pokmon TCG Pocket, youll need to collect at least one copy of every Kanto Pokmon card, which totals to 150 unique cards.Luckily, full art and ex cards do count towards your total card count, but promo cards unfortunately dont. For example, if you have a Pikachu ex card, but dont have a standard Pikachu card, itll count towards the 150 cards needed for Mew.Checking your progress in Pokmon TCG Pocket can be a little difficult as you cant sort your cards by region. If you dont mind using external tools, then Reddit user maxwell1755 created a useful spreadsheet that allows you to keep track of what cards you own and which cards you need, including a handy Mew Tracker table that calculates the total number of missing cards in each pack, and also shows which pack has the highest likelihood of containing a new card.Tips to get Mew faster in Pokmon TCG Pockets Genetic Apex expansionGetting a copy of all 150 Kanto Pokmon is no easy task, so let us help you with some tips, though note that these are only applicable to the Genetic Apex version of Mew:Use your Wonder Picks: Owned cards are marked with a binder in the bottom left corner in Wonder Pick, so if you spot a batch of cards without the marker, there is a good chance youll get a new card just make sure that the card is a Kanto Pokmon.Spend Pack Points to buy specific cards: Head over to the pack selection screen and click on the pack symbol in the bottom right corner. Here, you can exchange your pack points to get those hard-to-find Pokmon when youre extremely close to reaching the 150 Kanto Pokmon mark. However, if you already have one form of a card, theres no need to exchange your points for the other form. For example, if you have a Gengar, you dont need to chase the Gengar ex or Gengar Full Art.Open the right pack: Each booster pack has a different set of cards inside. There may be a situation where youre opening a Charizard pack, but the card youre looking for is in the Mewtwo pack. Its a little difficult to keep track of which cards are in which pack, so we can not stress this enough use the aforementioned spreadsheet to help you narrow down which pack you should be opening. How to get Mew in Pokmon TCG Pockets Mythical Island expansionThe Mythical Island expansion added five new Mew cards to Pokmon TCG Pocket one standard Mew and four Mew ex cards. These Mews can be obtained through regular means, such as opening Mythical Island booster packs or exchanging your pack points. However, these Mew cards are extremely rare: The rarest Mew, the gold Mew ex card, has a 0.040% chance of being pulled from a pack. For more Pokmon TCG Pocket guides, we have explainers on the Premium Pass, Hourglasses, flair, trading, showcases, and the current Pokmon TCG Pocket meta.

  • Fellow Helldivers 2 players, I think Super Earth might be fibbing about the Illuminate
    www.polygon.com
Its a tumultuous time to be a Helldiver. Not only are the cowardly Illuminate back after a century-long disappearance, but theyre kidnapping Super Earth citizens and turning them into horrifying monsters known as the Voteless. This doesnt even begin to cover the schemes of the other two factions: the Automatons, who are creeping closer toward Super Earth, and the Terminids, who are generating tons of mysterious, evolution-inspiring spores. But the worst part of all is that, well, Im pretty sure we cant trust anything Super Earth is telling us. I think they may be telling a couple of fibs. The Illuminate showed up immediately after the conclusion of The Game Awards in a surprise drop, and Helldivers headed to the planet of Calypso to fight them. This one world was under siege by the Illuminate, and players managed to fulfill the Major Order in the last few minutes of the campaign.Super Earth sent a little status update afterward, which reads:The resurgent Illuminate have been repelled by the Helldivers. Order has been restored on CALYPSO. It is assessed that a small cell of the Illuminate forces survived their eradication at the end of the First Galactic War, staying hidden until now. Recent Democratic activity may have made their discovery imminent, precipitating the recent attack. [] SEAF recon units will soon hunt down any remnants. As soon as they are located, they will be eradicated.A small cell? Well, that sounds reassuring. The Illuminate disappeared for a full day after Operation Ancient Vengeance on Calypso, and Helldivers got a sign of relief. But then, we got a new set of marching orders in Operation Squid Game. This time, the Illuminate are attacking multiple planets, chief among them the world of Genesis Prime. Super Earth has explained this away with mission text that reads:It is unknown how they eluded detection for the previous century; however, their ability to do so is indicative of the limited size of the cell. Their numbers are limited. This attack is an opportunity to complete the eradication of this xenophobic threat, securing the galaxy once more.Playing against the Illuminate, I cant help but notice something alarming. They field a much smaller roster than the other two factions, but theres also no equivalent to the Bile Titans or the Factory Striders. No matter what difficulty you play on, youre going to get the same guys: Voteless, Overseers, and Harvesters. It seems pretty likely that were going to see more squids emerging. If you check the Illuminate ranks from the first Helldivers, there are some terrifying possibilities: the Obelisk, the Illusionist, and the Great Eye could all show up in one form or another.Super Earth seems pretty chill about this whole thing, but I cannot stress enough that I think they might be wrong. Helldivers 2 is full of narrative surprises, and I dont see that changing. If you think the walking Harvesters are bad, hold onto your butts: I guarantee the Illuminate are only going to get scarier.

  • A Whistler Vacation Retreat That Redefines Nordic Living
    design-milk.com
Located in the heart of Whistlers alpine landscape, a contemporary vacation home redefines multi-generational living by merging Nordic minimalism and nature. Designed by Burgers Architecture, in collaboration with E2 Homes Ltd., the 4,000-square-foot Cypress retreat reflects a shared vision of connection, adaptability, and timelessness.Created for a close-knit family spanning three generations, the Canadian home is thoughtfully designed to cater to diverse needs. Principal Architect Cedric Burgers embraced the unique challenge of balancing communal spaces with private retreats. The result is a home that fosters both togetherness and personal independence. Each generation had its own priorities, from playful spaces for children to serene retreats for grandparents, Burgers explains. The homes modular design allows for flexibility, ensuring it can adapt as the family grows and evolves. The layout includes six bedrooms, with four primary suites and two bunk rooms for children, accommodating gatherings of up to 16 while maintaining a sense of intimacy. An additional den can also be converted to a bedroom for extra guests. The homes aesthetic embodies West Coast modernism, characterized by its clean lines and emphasis on natural materials. Expansive south-facing windows frame the spectacular mountain scenery, inviting natural light to flood the interiors and creating a dynamic connection between the indoors and the surrounding wilderness.Locally sourced materials, such as basalt and hemlock, were carefully selected to blend seamlessly with the environment. The homes structural steel frames, designed to endure Whistlers seismic and snow loads, also add a rhythmic architectural element that unifies the space.Every detail of the homes design reflects a deliberate balance between aesthetic appeal and practical functionality. The cabinetry and windows are meticulously positioned around the structural steel frames, emphasizing their purpose while enhancing the architectural rhythm. Bespoke millwork and flooring in white oak, cabinetry finished in Benjamin Moore Smoke Embers and Wrought Iron, and Corian countertops in Pearl Grey, contribute to the warm, inviting atmosphere. Contemporary fixtures, from brands such as Fritz Hansen and Sonneman lighting, infuse a sense of modern sophistication. These carefully curated elements combine to create a cohesive and timeless design that mirrors the natural beauty of the surrounding Whistler landscape. The interior design reflects Nordic-inspired minimalism, balancing durability with warmth. The open-plan living area transitions effortlessly from vibrant communal zones to tranquil corners, providing the perfect setting for family members to gather or unwind. High ceilings in the upper-level living spaces enhance the sense of openness, while a heated, covered deck offers an inviting outdoor escape.Black encased windows frame views of the surrounding mountain peaks and mature trees. For more information on Burgers Architecture, visit burgersarchitecture.com.Photography by Ema Peter Photography.

  • Morten Georgsen Turns Childhood Inspiration Into Tivoli Tables
    design-milk.com
Morten Georgsen has a quintessentially Scandinavian, no nonsense attitude when it comes to design. In fact, the Danish designer characterizes his work as the art of finding the shortest distance between function and aesthetic. With his latest launch, Tivoli, a mini-capsule collection of sculpted coffee tables for BoConcept, Georgsen exemplifies this philosophy to life, with a surprising detail that will shock most people. At first glance, the Tivoli tables look like hefty slabs of travertine stone, freshly hewn from an Italian quarry. But upon closer inspection, it reveals a clever disguise: the tables are actually concrete that have been covered with a printed travertine finish that mimics the real thing. Unlike faux stone surface coverings that look too artificial, this unique overlay mimics the natural patterns and textures of travertine. Georgsens use of alternative materials provides the timeless allure of stone but without the heavy weight, allowing you to move the pieces around your space as needed.Curious about the production process, we asked Georgsen to share how the Tivoli tables came to life. His answers from the original inspiration to the techniques used in crafting the collection might surprise you. What inspired you to reimagine Play-Doh creations as a concept for the Tivoli table designs?Love your Play-Doh association actually you are not that far off. My father was running a small art gallery and was a part-time painter. We had quite a few interesting people visiting us. Amongst them was Joern Nash, the brother to famous Cobra painter Asger Jorn, who is infamous for beheading the most famous Danish sculpture The Little Mermaid created from a story by H.C. Andersen. Playing with clay and creating small sculptures was a daily pleasure in my childhood. When I realized the abilities of concrete, and how I could create various shape, I thought of my childhood and the clay. And having been a furniture designer for more than 30 years, the idea of exploiting the shaping merits of the material into some practical and appealing furniture became an obsession. How did the process go crafting the tables from concrete with a printed travertine effect? What challenges or surprises came up when working through the production process? The process itself had been tried out before. However, our demand on the production process was very excessive. We wanted the furniture pieces to be hollow to minimize weight, as you cannot move a solid travertine/marble table of that size around. We wanted the top and sides to meet in a way in which the transition was unnoticeable/not felt, and we wanted all pieces to be unique like real travertine. We worked intensely with the factory, making many samples, and today, we can look at produced models that are absolutely stunning and bring to life the images I had envisioned in my head before starting the project. With Tivolis bold architectural feel, how did you balance its sculptural design with functional versatility, especially given your interest in multifunctional furniture? As already mentioned, one of the important features for functionality was the weight of the items. The smallest of the three will typically be used for various purposes and is easy to move. The surface of the material used is very durable and much more practical than travertine.I created three different sizes and shapes, so depending on space and someones needs, you can use for compact living or combine them in various ways and go cohesively together I did not want the individual pieces to fit together like a jigsaw, but I wanted to give them an organic style so they play together in a perfect imperfection.Customization in relation to space, style and functions are very important for BoConcept and in my design for them. Travertine is considered an always modern and classic pattern/color fitting any style and environment. The longevity of a product is probably the best measure of sustainability. And I am pretty sure that Tivoli will stand the test of time with those qualifies. How does this collection embody or depart from your previous work with BoConcept? At Morten Georgsen Studio, we have always tried to open new doors when working with the design team from BoConcept. We are challenging them, and they challenge us. So, using new materials and creating a novel design language is an inspiring and creative way to work with BoConcept. Actually, some of the most successful collections we have made for them are embedding new materials like ceramics to mention one of them. How do you see your Danish roots and Spanish influences merging in this collection? Are there cultural or stylistic influences that informed the design?BoConcepts design philosophy and DNA is very much in line with mine. It has Danish roots with an international approach and touch. Living in Spain and having my studio here has for sure opened my eyes to other influences. My look on minimalism has probably moved a bit, although I always start a project (and teach the designers in the studio to do the same) with the core version of a design. Thats also an excellent way to save materials and thereby practice sustainability.Danish design culture does also have aspects of sculptural and organic shapes. Finn Juhl and Verner Panton come to my mind. I find inspiration all over the world and in every little detail I feel with my senses. I think the biggest inspirations I get from Spain is the beautiful light and lifestyle. What role did material and color selection play in creating the Tivoli table collection, and how did you choose the specific travertine finish?I have already commented on the modern classic feel travertine features and the longevity merits of that. But as you indicate in your question, travertine is many sorts. I chose to go close to the authentic Roman travertine with very little yellow in it. I felt that too much yellow would make the collection hard to fit with other materials like wood and fabrics, so the yellow was toned down to beige. The end result looks like a beautiful travertine found in Rome.Available in three distinct shapes, Tivoli strikes the perfect balance between individuality and harmony. Whether styled solo or clustered together to create an island of tables, these pieces are ready to bring a sculptural, architectural presence to your space. To learn more about the Tivoli tables by Morten Georgsen for BoConcept, visit boconcept.com.

  • I Tried the Trtl Travel Pillow and Wont Travel Again Without It
    lifehacker.com
We may earn a commission from links on this page.Im an expert at whiling away the hours on a plane. I can distract myself, even in a confined spacereading, watching movies, or thinking thoughts. I can even find pleasure in the tiny bland meal served on an airplane. What Ive never been good at, though, is in-flight sleep. It doesnt seem fair that only the folks in lay-flat seats get to enjoy their circadian rhythm uninterrupted, but I was beginning to be resigned to this literal class division, until after hundreds of hours of flying, Im happy to report that there is finally something that works for me. I tried the Trtl travel pillow, and I wont do long flights without it again. Trtl Pillow Scientifically Proven Super Soft Neck Support Travel Pillow $45.49 at Amazon $64.99 Save $19.50 Shop Now Shop Now $45.49 at Amazon $64.99 Save $19.50 Dozing is decidedly not as rejuvenating as actual sleep. My flight naps were often short and half-hearted. Usually 20 minutes would pass before I woke myself up because I open-mouth snored again. Bad sleep is a nuisance even if you occasionally travel, but if you fly internationally often, it can really throw off your travel days. After trying several disappointing inflatable U-shaped travel pillows and countless balled-up jackets and scarves, I was skeptical of the Trtl travel neck pillow. But it was the unusual design that caused me to reconsider. My flight with the TrtlI got my gray Trtl pillow before taking an eight-hour flight to Copenhagen. It wasnt bulky and barely weighed a thing; it's just a bit awkwardly shaped. I wondered where Id store it because it doesnt fold or collapse. I could have wrapped it around the handle of my backpack but Im not much for dangling bits and bobs, so I ended up fitting the curved edge over my packing cube inside my backpack. It was a squeeze, but the backpack zipped up. Done. Credit: Allie Chanthorn Reinmann After getting situated in my economy window seat, and marveling at how the airline managed to make a Mexican-inspired dish taste like absolutely nothing, I got ready to rack up some Zs. I took out the Trtl neck support, positioned it off to the side, wrapped the soft, stretchy fleece scarf-part around my neck, and secured the end to the Velcro. It felt pretty good. Though I think the fleece will feel a little hot in the summer, in the current winter chill, it was rather cozy. I tested out the strength of it and decided to tighten up the fleece scarf before closing my eyes. I fake-sleep selfied so you could better imagine your future. It is legitimately comfortable. Credit: Allie Chanthorn Reinmann Not only did I get hours (in a row!) of real sleep, but the fleece wrapped securely under my chin, solving my open-mouth snoring dilemma. I did wake up one time because my noise-cancelling earbuds made me claustrophobic, so I left those out on my return flight where I slept for all five of the hours between meals. The Trtl was comfortable and effective. Plus, as you can see in my fake-sleep selfie, I looked extremely cool (I have a reputation to maintain). Even if you dont achieve this level of glamour, its okay; sleeping isnt about looks anyway. Why the Trtl worksThe Trtl travel pillow has a different approach than everything else Ive tried. Instead of something bulky and puffed to rest your head on, this is less a pillow and more a supportive holder for your noggin. Its basically a thin fleece scarf with a rigid but padded, curved support on one end. You place the bend of the support against your heador in front, whatever side youd like to lean towardwrap the fleece around once like a scarf, and use the Velcro strip to secure the hold. You can see the Velcro is lime green on mine and the Trtl logo has the partner Velco on the back. Credit: Allie Chanthorn Reinmann The stretchy fleece plays an important role in the support structure. I find the biggest culprit of crappy sleep while sitting up is the head-bob. Anyone who has slept on a bus, subway, or train knows the dreaded head-bob. You start to doze and gravity takes control of your ten-pound head for a split second. You feel the drop and wake up in time to catch your head, just before dozing off again to repeat this drowsy dance. This head drop happens with inflatable travel pillows too; your head can slip off the side and wake you up. The Trtl, however, straps you in, securing your head to the plastic support framework and eliminating any sleep bobbing. The Trtl travel pillow is on sale right now, and comes in several colors. Even if you dont fly, this cozy head support can be used on trains, bus rides, or long drives. By the way, there is a Trtl pillow junior (also on sale). Can you imagine if your kids could actually sleep in the backseat on the car ride to your parents house next week? I highly recommend grabbing this deal for yourself or anyone on your gift list who travels. The Trtl will change how you holiday.

  • The AirTag 2 Will Supposedly Have Triple the Range
    lifehacker.com
We've written quite a bit about why AirTags are useful tools for keeping track of your stuff, from your keys and backpack to your pets and luggage (the location of which you can even share with your airline in the event your bags get lost). These tiny devices use Bluetooth, UWB (ultra-wideband), and NFC to connect with other devices on Apple's Find My network to show you the location of your misplaced item. Precision Finding, which works when your AirTag is within the vicinity of your iPhone, uses the Find Nearby feature to direct you to the exact location of your AirTag, which will vibrate and beep as you get closer. The AirTag 2, which is expected to be released sometime in mid-2025, is reportedly getting an upgrade that will make it even easier to find things you've attached to it. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is reporting that the updated tracker will have triple the rangecurrently anywhere from to 10 to 30 metersthanks to the addition of a UWB chip similar to the one Apple added to the iPhone 15 and later. That means you could potentially get the precise location of your belongings from nearly a football field away, directly to your iPhone. While this makes AirTags more useful in general, it is especially great news for those who tend to misplace items across larger areas (of your home or property, for example) and longer distances, as walls and other environmental factors can impair the performance of Find Nearby.

  • Seagate teases its first HAMR-based hard drive
    www.engadget.com
A new hard drive based on the long-promised heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) technology is almost here. Toms Hardware reported that a new sales page popped up on the Seagate website announcing a new Exos M 30TM and 32TB hard disk drive (HDD) featuring 3TB per platter with three times the power efficiency per terabyte compared to other hard drives. The new hard drive is based on Seagates new Mozaic 3+ platform and is its first HDD to use HAMR. HAMR refers to a magnetic storage process in which localized heat is applied to the disk material during writing, which allows for smaller regions and more space per platter. These and other breakthroughs could someday pave the way to a 50TB HDD. Heres a video from our Upscaled series that breaks down the entire process and what it means for the future of HDD storage.Theres no official release date yet for the Exos M. • 'Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance' servers will shut down in February
    www.engadget.com
Wizards of the Coast is shutting down the online servers for Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance early next year. According to the updated store listings, the game will no longer be available for purchase and its servers will go down for good on February 24, 2025. "The base game and all DLC are still available to play in offline single player by anyone who currently owns it," the notice from the company adds.Dark Alliance launched in 2021 with a single-player mode and an option for up to four-player co-op. It marked the first time WotC had published a video game from the hugely popular D&D universe. The project was meant to follow in the lineage of the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games that were released in the 2000s, but the title made by Tuque Games didn't receive the same high praise as those predecessors. For some context, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance has an 87 score on Metacritic and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 has a 78. Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance sits down at a decidedly middling 53.At least Larian Studios' excellent Baldur's Gate 3 is still thriving and getting new patches for your D&D-inspired video game needs. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/gaming/dungeons--dragons-dark-alliance-servers-will-shut-down-in-february-233454799.html?src=rss
