• My Seven Favorite Cleaning Accounts to Follow on Instagram

We may earn a commission from links on this page.As it stands, it looks like TikTok will be banned from app stores on Jan. 19. And while I'm not an expert in government, I am a savvy social media user who knows people are worried about their followers, followed accounts, and saved videos disappearing. If you get your cleaning and organizing inspiration from TikTokwhere CleanTokkers have always been popular content creatorsyou may want to know of comparable Instagram accounts that you can look into as a replacement. Here are seven of my favorites. The best cleaning accounts on InstagramI spend a lot of time going through social media to find cleaning hacks, so I know a thing or two about what makes a solid cleaning video. Here are some of the best cleaning-focused accounts to follow.@cleanwithbeax, 812k followersI love watching the videos on @cleanwithbeax, where Bea Elton makes over homes that are stuffed with clutter, trash, and all-around mess. It's soothing to watch her transform grimy surfaces with a pass of a rag, and even if your home isn't as messy as the ones she deals with, you can always learn something from watching the way she maneuvers her vacuum or the taking note of the products she swears by.@gocleanco, 2.4 million followersThe videos on @gocleanco are more direct, how-to-clean posts interspersed with some inspirational, idealistic ones, like shots of a tidy home or holiday decor. Content creator Sarah McAllister is adept at serving up variety, so I often find myself scrolling past something idyllic and eventually browsing details about the best vacuums for sale online (which is great for when I simply want to absorb cleaning knowledge without having to think too hard about it). View this post on Instagram @anna_louisa_at_home, 4.3 million followersAnna Louisa, purveyor of @anna_louisa_at_home, is a quality follow. She's the author of the popular book The Five Minute Clean Routine, and her videos are extremely hands-on. She shares product roundups, hack rundowns, and quick tipsand I do mean quick, since her whole cleaning philosophy revolves around not spending too much time at it. The best organizing accounts on InstagramSome of the best content you can consume is less about cleaning and more about organizing. Speaking from experience, when I see someone share a video of how perfectly tidy and well-contained their stuff is, I get inspired to make my own spaces more organized. Organization lends itself to video content, especially, since before-and-afters are so satisfying, so let these inspire you. @mrshinchhome, 4.8 million followersSophie Hinchliffe, aka @mrshinchhome, is one of the most popular organizers out there. I get lost in her calm voiceovers, which accompany videos of her doing tasks like organizing her kids' packed lunches, going over her favorite cleaning and organizing products, and rearranging her home. In addition to great grid posts, her Instagram Stories are full of "reset" inspiration and clips of her sprucing up rooms and surfaces. @the.decluttered.mom, 380k followers@the.decluttered.mom is heavy on the inspiration and motivation: The account consistently posts content that gives people space to acknowledge that they're overwhelmed, and then it encourages them to get back in the game. The account has a gentle, helpful approach, and it seems to cheer for anyone who gets off the couch and organizes just one thing. If you need an account to treat you with some kindness instead of shaming you for not living in pristine luxury, this is the one. View this post on Instagram @organizingspacesbykim, 291k followersThe @organizingspacesbykim account has a video for everything: Tips on how to unpack if you're moving, ideas for organizing a pantry, and even advice on how to organize a barn. Even though I don't have anything like a barn, I still like watching a professional organizing team working through one, and I still pick up great tips on how to use storage containers and make solid decisions about what to keep or get rid of. This account is also excellent if you're looking for specific product recommendations and want to see exactly how they're used before buying them. @tidydad, 379k followers@Tidydad is a personal favorite of mine. Decluttering and organizing are female-dominated content niches, so it's cool to see a dad get in on the action, and it's great to see how the tidy dad himself, Tyler Moore, organizes his New York City apartment, since I, too, live in a small space. Moore, the author of Tidy Up Your Life, shares product reviews and tips that appeal to people with limited space, which makes for compelling and useful content, especially when so many other cleaning influencers appear to live in a palace. • Threads is starting to test community notes
    www.engadget.com
Last week, Meta decided it would replace its professional fact-checking program with X-style "Community Notes" and it looks like a version of the feature is already being tested on Threads. Alessandro Paluzzi, a developer who frequently posts leaked details on Meta's apps, shared three screenshots that show an early look of what the Community Notes will look like in Threads.Paluzzi's images show a new "Write Community Note" option in the menu you can access in the corner of a Threads post. If you select it, it looks like you'll be able to anonymously submit your note, and if it's rated as helpful, it will appear under the post. The whole setup is not dissimilar from how X uses Community Notes, which started as a feature called "Birdwatch" on Twitter before Elon Musk acquired and renamed the company.Alessandro Paluzzi Engadget has reached out to Meta for information on the new Threads feature and will update this post if we learn more.Community Notes are just one of the ways Threads is changing under Meta's new approach to moderation. The app, which was against the sharing and promoting of "political" content, will now also suggest political posts. Instagram and Threads head Adam Mosseri demonstrated how you can adjust the amount of political content you see in your feed in a short video shared to Threads today. Meta is giving users three options to choose from: "See less," which attempts to weed out political content, "Standard," which suggests some political content and "See more," which treats political content like everything else on the app. It's not clear that Community Notes or toggles for political content address the actual issues users have with Threads, or if they'll make anyone happier. They do fit with the "free speech warrior" image Meta is trying to project, though. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/social-media/threads-is-starting-to-test-community-notes-232150151.html?src=rss

  • Where do robotics and automation play best?
    www.fastcompany.com
If we had an hour together, we could talk about the many ways robotics and automation are rocking our universe, in implementations ranging from manufacturing and fulfillment to food packaging and preparation. But one of the most surprising targets on the list is healthcare. The healthcare industry is at a critical juncture. While healthcare costs are rising to historic levels, the population of individuals whose needs are highest and are aging out of the workforce is growing even faster. Healthcare organizations at all levels are suffering from increased workloads, poor retention, and rising operational costs. In arenas ranging from telehealth to home health and hospital support, robotics can provide new alternatives. Instead of burnout and churning of staff, it can offer more clinical precision, fewer possibilities for human error, and improved efficiency across the spectrum of healthcare delivery. The Healthcare Innovation Framework, provided by Don Capener, Strategy Lead, Chang RoboticsThese innovations span clinical, administrative, and logistical functions from all varieties of operation, signaling a paradigm shift in the ways health services are provided.CobotsThe most familiar realm is the use of surgical robotics to enable minimally invasive procedures with higher precision, and shorter and easier patient recovery times. Meanwhile, collaborative robots (cobots) are gaining traction as essential tools in addressing physical labor burdens and staff shortages.Cobots represent a critical solution to labor shortages and the physical strains on healthcare workers, which is increasingly important: A 2021 survey by the American Medical Association found that nearly 50% of healthcare workers reported significant burnout.Cobots can work alongside humans to handle physically demanding tasks like patient lifting, transporting medical supplies, and inventory sorting. They not only reduce the physical toll on healthcare professionals but also mitigate the risk of injuries, which cost U.S. hospitals more than $20 billion annually in compensation and lost productivity.Based on our recent installations we predict a cobot system could result in in a 15% reduction in workplace injuries and 25% decrease in staff turnover over a 2-year period. Additionally, the automated system reduced the time healthcare workers spent on manual tasks by 30%, allowing staff to prioritize clinical care.Autonomous information systems driven by AI are becoming increasingly important in healthcare administration as well. These systems handle routine but critical tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and inventory management. According to a Medscape survey, 62% of physicians cite administrative tasks as the top contributor to burnout. However, a recent McKinsey & Company report suggests that automation can reduce time spent on administrative tasks by 36%, leading to more efficient healthcare delivery.Financial considerationsOur clients have found that investing in a robotic or cobotic system has immediate payback, which can be additionally enhanced over time with financial optimization around billing and revenue. Early adopters are reporting the ability to achieve a two-year payback. As these technologies become more prevalent, of course, manufacturing efficiencies will drive costs down. Innovative financing models are emerging to make cobots more accessible to smaller healthcare facilities. Governments and healthcare systems can collaborate to develop financing models to make these technologies more widely available as well. Also influencing the payback: New research is showing that cobotic implementations can reduce manual task time by as much as 30%, while also reducing injury costs and turnover. What are the barriers and concerns?Of course, the adoption of robotics and AI in healthcare raises important regulatory concerns. Issues such as patient privacy, data security, and the potential displacement of human workers are vital. The increase in autonomous systems also raises questions of accountability: Who is responsible when a robotic system malfunctions or makes an error? Regulatory bodies are developing frameworks to ensure these technologies are used responsibly and that patient data is safe.As to displacement of human workers, early implementations are showing the displacement of workers to be largely offset by the need for workers more fully able to manage the functions influenced by automation, resulting in career growth opportunities. In all, the integration of robotics and automation into healthcare is not a future prospectit is well underway. By 2030, the healthcare robotics industry across all sectors is projected to reach nearly $45 billion, with significant growth in areas such as robotic diagnostics, AI-driven healthcare management, and precision surgeryareas where these technologies offer practical solutions to some of the industrys most pressing challenges including labor shortages, worker burnout, and rising operational costs. From all indications the successful adoption of these technologies will lead the healthcare industry to increasingly higher success in achieving more efficient, patient-centered care. It will also help operations and practitioners to achieve the financial results they need to succeed in the current healthcare industry, and can lay the groundwork for even greater success in the years (and decades) to come.Matthew Chang is cofounder and principle engineer for Chang Robotics.

MicroStrategy, a top corporate Bitcoin (BTC) holder, just acquired 2,530 BTC for $243 million.A recent 8-K form filed by MicroStrategy with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reveals that the company paid an average price of $95,972 per Bitcoin with its latest investment. Considering that at the time of writing Bitcoin changes hands at $91,777, this investment is currently losing nearly 4.4%.Still, the document also shows that MicroStrategy currently owns about 450,000 BTC, acquired at an average price of $62,691 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. The total purchase price of those assets is approximately $28.2 billion, over 45.5% lower than the current value of Bitcoin, which is $41.04 billion. What is MircoStrategy?MicroStrategy is a publicly traded business intelligence company founded in 1989 that pivoted to acquire as much Bitcoin as possible in 2020. The company now holds well over 1% of all Bitcoin that will ever exist and is now well underway to get its hands on 2%.Through this strategy, MicroStrategy secured its place as the top corporate Bitcoin holder. When investing in Bitcoin was near to impossible for highly-regulated institutional investors the company was also one of the best ways for those players to gain leveraged exposure to Bitcoin.Late November reports highlighted how major Wall Street companieswere accumulating MicroStrategy sharesas a way to gain leveraged exposure to Bitcoin. Benchmark analyst Mark Palmer wrote in a note to investors at the time:MSTRs ability to generate compounding yield on its bitcoin holdings, enabled by leverage accrued through the repeated tapping of the U.S. capital markets, differentiates its stock from alternative means of gaining exposure to bitcoin such as spot bitcoin ETFs.Back in late November when Bitcoin was approaching $100,000 for the first time MicroStrategy shares fell significantly. Major investment firm Citron Research explained at the time that the company decided to short MicroStrategy while going long on Bitcoin:With Bitcoin investing easier than ever [], [MicroStrategy]s volume has completely detached from BTC fundamentals. While Citron remains bullish on Bitcoin, weve hedged with a short [MicroStrategy] position. The post MicroStrategy acquries 2,530 BTC for $243 million appeared first on ReadWrite.
