China is flexing its humanoid robot advancements.A group of 16 humanoid robots performed a Chinese folk dance in Beijing ahead of the Lunar New Year.Humanoid robots are becoming a big focus for tech giants like Elon Musk and Nvidia's Jensen Huang.China touted its robotics advancements through a fleet of dancing humanoid robots at a festival in Beijing.Dozens of performers human and robotic took to the stage on Tuesday during the 2025 Spring Festival Gala, organized by state media company China Media Group, ahead of the Lunar New Year on Wednesday. One of the most eye-catching displays was a dance performance in which 16 humanoid robots, decked in festive red jackets, performed alongside their female human partners. The robots tall, thin, and black in color followed a three-minute dance routine during the performance, according to a video of the performance posted by state media outlet CGTN.Developed by Hangzhou Yushu Technology, also known as Unitree, in China's eastern city of Hangzhou, the robots kept up with the beat of a Chinese folk dance style and danced with red handkerchiefs. They spun the handkerchiefs in circles, tossed them into the air, and caught them again with precision, drawing applause from the audience.Other performers in the festival included American pop band OneRepublic, which performed its hit song "Counting Stars" with no robots in sight. The units on stage for the spring festival were Unitree's H1 robots, the company told Chinese media outlets.Unitree has other robotic offerings, including the smaller G1, which it showcased at the 2025 CES.But the company's also known to have made other machines including four-legged, doglike robots. In 2024, these remote-controlled dog robots were seen in footage of a military training exercise conducted by China and Cambodia. The robots, which could be mounted with machine guns, could move forward, jump, and navigate obstacles. The US military, meanwhile, uses non-weaponized robots from Boston Dynamics, per the company's website.Humanoid robots are becoming a big focus for tech giantsThe humanoid dance display in Beijing comes as these robots are fast becoming a priority for tech's biggest players, like Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk and semiconductor giant Nvidia.Musk showcased his Optimus humanoid robots in October, saying that they would be "the biggest product ever of any kind."In November, Tesla's Chinese rival, electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng, emerged as a competitor in the humanoid space, unveiling its nearly 6-foot-tall Iron robot. In 2023, China laid out ambitious plans to mass-produce "advanced level" humanoid robots by 2025.China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a document in October 2023 that said that the new robots would "reshape the world."Nvidia is also betting big on robots.Speaking at Computex 2024, an annual computer expo in Taipei, CEO Jensen Huang said that there would be two "high-volume" robotic products in the future self-driving cars and humanoid robots.

  • 4 tips for those struggling to find a tech job, from a former recruiter at Amazon, Meta, and Google
    www.businessinsider.com
Holly Lee, a career coach, has experience as a recruiting leader at Amazon, Meta, and Google.Lee emphasizes starting out at smaller companies to build skills and explore career interests. She also says networking and interview preparation are crucial for standing out in tech. This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Holly Lee, a career coach in Phoenix. It has been edited for length and clarity. Before becoming a career coach, I worked as a consultant at Microsoft, leading engineering hiring, and later as a recruiting leader at Amazon, Meta, Google, and several startups. When I switched to career coaching, I realized how much I love helping people accept not just any job but one they'll love to do. I like to ask my clients: What are your core strengths? What truly makes you happy, and not just accept a paycheck?Early in my career, I struggled with those questions myself, and now helping those struggling with them and struggling to climb the corporate ladder is my passion. If you're looking to get a job in tech, like in AI, for example, one of the hottest fields right now, here are four things I'd suggest doing, especially if you're struggling.1. Start smallIf you're just starting your career, don't focus on landing your top dream companies. You might think you want to work for Amazon, Google, Facebook, or Microsoft,Be open to exploring smaller companies that offer opportunities to grow, learn, and build valuable skills. Smaller or midsize companies will allow you to wear multiple hats. You can also find a fast-growing startup seeking Series B or C funding, which means the company has the revenue to keep someone employed for a while. When fresh out of college or early in your career, you might not know what excites you or what role fits you. A smaller company can allow you to explore, helping you figure that out.2. Be willing to learnBefore working your way up, learn as many skills as possible. If you're hired as a web designer, don't just stick to web design tasks look for opportunities to take on other projects that will help you gain additional skills. When you work for a large company, they'll want to see a wide range of skills. If a company sees you can juggle several different things, they're more likely to hire you over the 1,000 other people competing for the same job.To learn skills beyond your role, help your peers, and see other projects they work on. If you're a user designer interested in becoming a graphic designer, those are different skills, but you can learn them.Let's say you don't have experience with Java or Python. If you know one, you can learn to translate between similar languages. At its core, coding involves a lot of similarities it's just about learning the little tricks. If you're struggling to find a job, think about how you can use your skills elsewhere at places that are hiring. Consider if you can transfer your skills to places like manufacturing, healthcare, or even pharmaceutical companies.3. NetworkDon't just apply to random tech jobs. I can apply to 50 jobs, but without a connection, it's unlikely anyone will call me because no one will see my rsum. Networking is the way to go.One way you can build your network is to pay attention to those you went to school with. If you maintain relationships with your classmates, you can see where they're landing and how you can help each other.Another way is to join groups and communities on LinkedIn and Facebook. If you're into web design, look for a web design group and connect with the people in it. Some will be recent graduates, and some will be hiring managers. If you work on building your network, they can help you, and vice versa. When you reach out to someone, make the message mindful especially if you don't know them. Don't just say, "I saw you work for Amazon, and I want to work there." Instead, try something like: "I've been following your career journey, and I'm intrigued by your growth at Amazon. I noticed you recently worked at Microsoft, and I'd love to add you to my network."If you're reaching out on LinkedIn, tell them what interests you about their profile and try to build a relationship rather than just sending a one-time message. You have to figure out a way to stand out and ask yourself how you'll provide value to the person.4. Practice your interviewsThere could be a couple of reasons if you're struggling to find a tech job but landing interviews. Sometimes, it's simply because someone else filled the role, and that's OK. Sometimes, people also go into interviews unprepared.Ensure you're preparing for the interview, not just entering it on the fly. If you're an engineer looking to get through the interview process, be able to problem-solve with coding and design an architecture from scratch. This combination can help you through the interview. If they ask why you want to work at the company, they want to hear three sentences, not a fifteen-minute answer. Ultimately, companies want to see if you have the appetite and aptitude to learn and do well. In an interview, you don't need to meet every requirement, but make sure you prepare.

It explores the relationship between humans and nature, emphasizing cultural heritage and sustainability through its architecture and exhibition. The pavilion will offer an immersive experience centered around music, heritage, and the connection between people and their environment. The design features a landscape reminiscent of Hungarian meadows, with native plants and natural scents shaping the arrival experience. A symbolic forest structure and a wooden dome, resembling a haystack, define the pavilion's main spaces. The dome houses an immersive theater, where visitors will follow a stylized forest path accompanied by Hungarian folk melodies before entering a performance space beneath a star-lit ceiling. The exhibition explores the connection between Hungarian and Japanese musical traditions, particularly through the shared use of the pentatonic scale in folk music.Save this picture!Beyond the exhibition, the pavilion serves as a space for business and cultural exchange. The second floor is dedicated to conferences and networking opportunities for Hungarian and international companies. A bistro and wine bar will introduce visitors to Hungarian cuisine, while a gift shop will offer traditional products. Related Article "Architecture of the Future Should be in Harmony with Nature": In Conversation with Sou Fujimoto at the House of Music Hungary With its focus on natural materials, music, and cultural continuity, the Hungarian Pavilion presents an experience that ties past traditions to contemporary design, offering a moment of reflection within the broader energy of Expo 2025. Inspired by traditional building techniques from both Hungary and Japan, the pavilion integrates natural materials and construction methods that highlight the connection between people and their environment. The design aims to create a seamless interaction between built and natural spaces, reinforcing the shared cultural values of both nations.Save this picture! The pavilion's integration of nature and cultural heritage echoes the work of Sou Fujimoto, the architect behind the House of Music Hungary, a cultural hub in Budapest's 200-year-old city park. The House of Music, designed as a transparent and immersive space, reflects Fujimoto's vision of combining architecture with nature, an approach that extends to his role as the master planner for Expo 2025 Osaka. His involvement in shaping the overall site framework aligns with the pavilion's intent to create an experiential and nature-driven environment.Save this picture!A key feature of the pavilion is its immersive theater space, which offers visitors a multisensory experience. Rather than a conventional exhibition, the space presents a live folk music performance, drawing on Hungary's rich musical traditions. The Kodly method, which emphasizes music as a universal language, serves as a conceptual link between Hungarian and Japanese cultures. In other similar news, several countries have unveiled their designs for Expo 2025 Osaka, which will run from April 13 to October 13, 2025. Playful Pedagogy: 4 Projects Using Topography to Redefine Children's Learning Environments in ChinaSave this picture!Xinsha Primary School / 11ARCHITECTURE. Image Chao ZhangEducational architecture globally is undergoing a significant transformation, moving away from static, rigid designs toward more dynamic, interactive, and nature-driven environments. As cities become denser and land availability diminishes, architects are reimagining schools not just as places for learning but as ecosystems where children can grow holistically. A key element in this shift is the integration of landscape and topographical design, which allows schools to transcend traditional boundaries, combining education with play, exploration, and connection to nature. These designs aim to create engaging spaces that challenge children to interact with their environment physically and emotionally, fostering creativity, independence, and well-being. By layering natural elements such as mounds, gardens, terraces, and play structures into architectural plans, educational spaces are being reshaped into vibrant, multi-dimensional landscapes that encourage movement, imagination, and discovery. This collection highlights projects completed in China by architects like MAD Architects, 11ARCHITECTURE, waa, and Yijing Architectural Design, who are redefining how children experience schools in urban environments. Despite their diverse approaches, these projects share key principles: leveraging verticality to maximize land use, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, and creating playful, child-centered environments that connect students with nature. From the flowing rooftop playgrounds of YueCheng Courtyard Kindergarten in Beijing to the thematic topographies of Xinsha Primary School in Shenzhen, these designs reflect a commitment to integrating architecture and landscape as tools for learning and exploration. Read on to discover four projects redefining educational spaces in China, illustrating they are evolving to meet the challenges of urban density while cultivating imagination, resilience, and a deeper connection to the natural world. Related Article Secluded Sanctuaries: Contemporary Religious Architecture Inspired by Modernist Principles Across Asia YueCheng Courtyard Kindergarten / MAD ArchitectsSave this picture!Save this picture! The YueCheng Courtyard Kindergarten transforms a historic Siheyuan courtyard into a child-centric environment that merges the past with nature and play. The design emphasizes exploration through its floating roof, which serves as both a visual statement and a tactile, topographical playground where children can run, climb, and interact. By preserving old trees and creating open courtyards, the architecture frames nature as an integral part of the learning experience. Glass walls connect indoor classrooms to the courtyard, inviting natural light and blending indoor and outdoor realms. This interplay of history, landscape, and play aims to encourage imagination and emotional growth, making nature and heritage accessible to young learners.Xinsha Primary School / 11ARCHITECTURESave this picture!Save this picture! At Xinsha Primary School, landscape and play are deeply embedded into the campus design through thematic playgrounds like "Green Forest" and "Triangular Hills," which mimic natural terrains. The design prioritizes child-scale spaces, allowing students to navigate and explore tactile environments that stimulate their curiosity and motor skills. Elevated sports fields and rooftop farms transform otherwise underutilized areas into multifunctional landscapes that promote both active play and environmental awareness. The school's open courtyards and balconies dissolve barriers between learning spaces and nature, inviting students to connect with greenery in their daily routines. By integrating playful topographies with flexible, outdoor-oriented spaces, the school fosters creativity and a deep bond with the natural world.Children's Community Centre: The Playscape / waaSave this picture!Save this picture! The Playscape reimagines urban play by blending architecture and landscape into a dynamic, sensory environment that encourages unstructured exploration. Mounds, tunnels, and terraces mimic natural forms, providing opportunities for children to test their balance, body awareness, and imagination. The design integrates multi-level play spaces, including rooftops, underground areas, and covered play zones, creating a landscape-like experience where every corner offers a new discovery. These tactile, topographical elements engage children in physical and cognitive play, allowing them to navigate risk and challenge their boundaries. Rooted in sensory engagement, the Playscape demonstrates how architectural landscapes can empower children to create their own narratives while connecting with their surroundings.Shenzhen Longhua District Qingquan Foreign Language Junior School / Yijing Architectural DesignSave this picture!Save this picture! The Qingquan Foreign Language Junior School utilizes its "valley garden" concept to create a layered, landscape-oriented campus where children can explore nature and movement. Rooftop gardens and terraced play areas weave greenery into the school's design, forming seamless connections between structured learning spaces and unstructured outdoor play. The elevated sports fields and observation decks encourage physical activity while offering moments of reflection and wonder. The central valley garden serves as both a functional and symbolic heart of the campus, providing a tranquil environment that reduces urban density's visual and physical pressures. By embedding nature into every aspect of the campus, the school becomes a holistic, interactive space for growth, discovery, and environmental connection. This article is part of an ArchDaily curated series that focuses on built projects from our own database grouped under specific themes related to cities, typologies, materials, or programs. • Trevors Voice Actor Wont Be in GTA 6 but Hed Like to Appear Once to Get Killed
    cgshares.com
RockstarThe whole world is waiting for GTA 6 in anticipation of what crazy new story Rockstar is preparing. Unfortunately, not everyone from the previous title will make it there: Trevor will stay his bizarre self in GTA 5, although his voice actor, Steven Ogg, wouldnt mind a little cameo even to just be killed off.It would be fun if Trevor appeared in it just to be killed at the beginning, he said in aninterview with ScreenRant. This would be a nice full circle for the character: in GTA 5, when Trevor first appears, hes confronted by Johnny Kleibitz, who starred in The Lost and the Damned DLC. Trevor then kills Kleibitz, starting a fresh page in the series. Having a similar end for Trevor in GTA 6 would be a really cool nod to GTA 5, but as far as he knows, Ogg wont have a role in the new game.I think that would be cool because it also acknowledges the fans of like, Hey, thank you. Pass the torch, stomp Trevors head in, and sort of put an end to that and allow a new generation to take over.Alas, GTA is not known for bringing its characters to new titles, and its a shame because a lot of fans were excited when they learned about the, unfortunately, canceled DLC about undercover agent Trevor.Hes still kind of a f*ck up but hes doing his best, Ogg said last year. But the idea was eventually abandoned, so no more Trevor for us.However, there are new protagonists waiting in GTA 6 with their own exciting story, and Im sure Rockstar wont disappoint. GTA 6 is expected this fall, although I honestly doubt it will be done on time.Would you like more Trevor in GTA 6?
