• PlayStation Network still down for users but some fans have found a workaround

PlayStation users have suffered all day at the outage has fans reminiscing about 2011 again and despite the network seemingly working for some there's still no official word from PlayStationTech20:40, 08 Feb 2025Updated 21:14, 08 Feb 2025PSN is still down(Image: SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images)While there is still no official word about the PlayStation outage being resolved and while users have managed to get games working the outage is still patchy across the network. It comes after a whole day of the PlayStation Network going down - leaving users suffering. As the Daily Star pointed out earlier, players were online when things began, but it seems to have got worse in the hours that followed and even Sony's video platform has gone. You can check the status here. That's led to some speculation the outage was caused by a 'hack' of some description, not helped by Sony staying relatively silent outside of acknowledging there is some kind of issue. Fans have started making their voices heard, too, and some are demanding compensation for the outage. Now, some users have shared potential workarounds to squeeze any sort of life out of PSN. On X, one user shared: "Just had to spam retry on game and it finally worked."Users are left exasperated(Image: Anadolu via Getty Images)Some users are rejoicing after their PlayStations are finally working. Another user shared on X: "I'm on Playstation 4 and it's working for me now having no issues."However, other users are still having no luck. One disgruntled user shared on X: "I can see my friends list, trophies and stuff like that but I cant playing anything online."While rumours swirl that PSN is back online, there's still confusion as there is no official word from PlayStation since the outage began, and users are all having different experiences. It seems that users in Europe, particularly Spain and the Netherlands, are back online to some extentIt's worth a try, if PSN still isn't working. According to TechRadar, there's a way to try an play titles already downloaded to your PlayStation.Editor Jacob Krol wrote: "It's all about restoring a license for a game think of this as renewing the title. Head to Settings on the PS5, select 'Users and Accounts', and then Other. You might notice that all the other sections fail to load, but fear not. Under 'Other', then select 'Restore Licenses' and select the titles you'd like to do this process for.We still haven't heard from PlayStation(Image: Getty Images)"I selected Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga , and after about a four-minute process, the license was restored, and the game began to open. Aside from a long loading time of the game opening, I was able to hop back in and start playing."Seemingly, this appears to be a workaround for at least playing titles on the PlayStation 5 that were downloaded during this PSN outage. I'm trying it for a few others now, but if you have luck, send us an email to let us know."In response to the Ask PlayStation account's lone post on X (formerly Twitter) about the incident, one angry gamer said "Yeah, been down since 6 pm, so 5 hours now sucks I CANT PLAY ANY OFFLINE GAMES I OWN cuz my PS5 cant verify I own it EVERY TIME I LOG IN instead of, you know, just SAVING THAT INFO TO THE SYSTEM. Sure would make this downtime an almost non-issue."That was ten years ago, so we hope they found something else to do.The post has a 'Community Note' pointing out that it's not some PlayStation users, but all of them.Another simply said "Imagine that. 2011 again?" pointing to the infamous 2011 PSN outage that shook the games industry and customers' faith in PlayStation.Playstation is still down for some(Image: NurPhoto via Getty Images)An ill-timed post on X promoted the purchase of extra storage for your PS5: "A supported M.2 SSD can expand your PS5 storage capacity, and also allows you to play games directly from the M.2 drive itself and move games freely from different storage types.:"Users on X were left bewildered. One shared: "The servers have been down for roughly 20-22 hours and youse are tweeting about Storage space." Another wrote: "Intern forgot to remove scheduled post [laughing emoji]"Article continues belowMeanwhile, another shared: "Y'all in the middle of the biggest and longest server outage since 2011 and this what u post."Sony's network was running as normal around 10:30 pm last night (Friday, February 7) because our gaming editor, Lloyd Coombes, was able to complete a purchase before settling in to play Destiny. When Lloyd snapped a screenshot from the game, he was unable to share it at 11:30 pm, while EA's servers were uncontactable in EA FC 25, too. We haven't heard from PlayStation since they confirmed that "some users" were affected by the outage.

  • Dang, Warner Bros. Game Developers Have Been Through Hell
    gizmodo.com
Only two months into 2025, and things havent been great for Warner Bros. video game output. BothSuicide SquadandMultiVersus are fully done, and the studios within the company have been in a weird place the past couple of years. A recent Bloomberg report digs into the troubled times, most of which stem from recently departed president David Haddad. Developers told Bloomberg itd take months to get answers from him or his team, and that the entire game division lacked any real direction as they just chased trends. Thats how Suicide SquadandGotham Knightscame about: live-service games were popular, so Rocksteady and WB Games Montreal were conscripted to make those type of games, despite not having real experience making them. In WB Montreals case, Knights was preceded by a general desire for a live-service Batman game. After Knights launch and the pitch to rework the game was shot down, Montreal pitched two separate projects based around Constantine and the Flashthe first was rejected in favor of a more recognizable character, hence the Flash but then the 2023 movie happened, and the rest is history. Speaking of bigger name characters, you remember Wonder Woman was getting her own game from Shadow of Wardeveloper Monolith? Thats reportedly rebooted and changed directors as of early 2024, and is said to still be years away from release. The newer version was described as a more conventional action-adventure game rather than one built on the Nemesis system previously introduced in Monoliths Shadowduology, owing to new leadership at the studio and challenges with the games technology. While development continues, Bloomberg notes the games status remains in questionits already cost $100 million to make thus far and has WB Montreal pitching in to help, so WB could just possibly cancel it entirely. And what of Rocksteady, now that its finished withSuicide Squad? Bloomberg reports the teams returned to Batman with a new single-player game, but much like Wonder Woman, its going to be a while before it comes out. If WB has its way, those two titles, along with a Hogwarts Legacysequel from Avalanche Software and a potential Game of Thronesproject from WB Games Montreal, will release over the next several years. JB Perrette, the companys streaming and games head, said WBs willing to stick with the medium for the long-term. But is the audience willing to keep giving them chances? Want more io9 news? Check out when to expect the latest Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek releases, whats next for the DC Universe on film and TV, and everything you need to know about the future of Doctor Who.

The Music Center Tel Aviv-Jaffa is a re-designed Jewish-Arab cultural hub that encourages coexistence through musical education. Situated in the heart of Groningen Garden, it serves diverse young communities in the southern neighborhoods of Tel Aviv-Jaffa. Nestled among eucalyptus trees and constructed in stages, this garden building consists of the old wing (1965) a modernist concrete and silicate structure housing administrative offices, rehearsal halls, and classrooms and the new wing (1992), which features a lobby, a 385-seat concert hall, and backstage facilities. Originally established as the Orchestra House, the building employed a shell and volume approach, with each space defined as a separate acoustic volume. Though it is not listed for municipal preservation, the renovation project seeks to uncover the buildings historical layers and original geometry.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture! The architectural challenge involved maintaining acoustic qualities while adapting to contemporary programmatic needs, as well as addressing technical and safety issues such as air conditioning and firefighting, all while removing layers added over the years and renewing original finishing materials with minimal additional cladding. As a first stage, a surgical demolition of building parts was performed: the inner and outer silicate walls were restored; decorative elements, provisional galleries, and dropped ceilings were dismantled; concrete ceilings and beams were exposed; additional rooms were removed; and sealed upper stands were reopened.Save this picture!Save this picture!Embracing a low-budget approach, the new design language employs a sustainable and cost-effective palette of finishes, integrating veneer elements, wood wool paneling, aluminum baffles, and linoleum and rubber flooring. Through a playful combination of materials and colors, each space takes on a unique character.Save this picture!Save this picture!Despite the distinct architectural characteristics of the two parts of the building, the new design creates a harmonious sequence of interconnected spaces. These are intended to be perceived like musical fragments, where variation serves as a formal technique involving the repetition of material in an altered form. Thus, the classrooms showcase numerous interpretations: their sloped ceilings echo their trapezoid layout to enhance acoustic performance, while a custom-made bench doubles as a storage cabinet. The halls are conceptualized as wooden containers, with the main hall envisioned as a black box and the rehearsal halls brightened by daylight.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture! The lobby of the main hall, which faces the park and serves as a separate entrance during events, provides an open space for gatherings. Its rounded wall is adorned with aluminum pipes, creating an appearance reminiscent of a musical instrument, and corresponding with the linear aluminum baffle ceiling in the classrooms corridor.Save this picture!Save this picture! The Music Center serves as an integrative facility catering to underprivileged populations in Jaffa and youth from around Tel Aviv. Its design appeals to various audiences and accommodates events such as orchestras, dance groups, theater performances, and organizations renting spaces for conferences, which provides essential income for maintenance and program financing. Consequently, the spatial design supports dual purposes, such as rehearsal classes and preschool activities, enabling optimal and efficient use throughout the week. This flexibility extends operating hours into the evening and ensures a continuous community impact.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture!Project gallerySee allShow lessProject locationAddress:Tel Aviv-Yafo, IsraelLocation to be used only as a reference. • Boxabl Impresses With Another Foldable Tiny Home That Is Spacious & Can Be Moved Within A Day
    www.yankodesign.com
Boxabl recently designed a tiny home called Baby Box that can be constructed in 60 minutes. And theyre back with another banger called the Casita! The Casita is another tiny home is more square footage, and it will be ready to move in within a day. Boxabls ingenious, foldable designs truly seem to be redefining the tiny home market. These homes can be built in a matter of hours, and they can be shipped directly to any destination. The Casita measures 19 ft long by 8 ft 6 in wide and 12 ft 4 in tall (5.8 x 2.6 x 3.8 m). Once the house has been unfolded, it measures around 19 ft by 19 ft with a 10 ft 9-in rooftop (5.8 x 5.8 x 3.3 m). The interior includes a spacious 9.5-ft (2.9-m) ceiling.Designer: BoxablThe Casita comes with fully pre-installed wiring and plumbing from the factory, making the installation process for this 13,000-lb (5,897-kg) home incredibly straightforward and hassle-free. In terms of convenience, it is even more convenient than travel trailers. Despite being a folding house, Boxabl claims the Casita is constructed to a higher code standard than many traditional manufactured homes. There are two versions of the Casita available to accommodate various zoning requirements. The modular version is built in accordance with residential building codes. It is fully equipped with full-size electric appliances, including a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, and HVAC. It is also equipped with two entry/exit doors and is linked to the grid with a 100-amp service. The modular Casita can be stacked, or connected side by side, if and when your family grows.Boxabl also offers another version of the Casita the park model RV option. This model is constructed to meet RV specifications, following the standard ANSI A119.5 RV code. Unlike traditional homes, it is permanently affixed to a rolling chassis, similar to a travel trailer. Some unique features include having only one entry/exit door and the option for a propane-fueled stove. It requires a 50-amp or 100-amp service, much like larger RVs do.However, both the Casita models share key features, such as energy-efficient insulation, LED lighting, a 30-gallon (113-L) electric water heater, a full bathroom, and pre-installed utility hookups (water, sewage, electricity), enabling homeowners to settle into their tiny homes immediately. The Casita is the Boxabls first model, and it was released in September 2020. The company made its first delivery in 2020, by providing 156 Casitas for Camp Justice at Guantanamo Bay to house juries and lawyers. Casita has been utilized for humanitarian relief efforts ranging from housing a copper mine workforce in Arizona to creating a commercial Airbnb community in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The post Boxabl Impresses With Another Foldable Tiny Home That Is Spacious & Can Be Moved Within A Day first appeared on Yanko Design.
