    Who is your favorite Pokmon? Squirtle might not be everyones cup of tea, but it is for artist Manuel Sitompul, who recreated the creature on the beach as part of his personal challenge.In 2024 I challenged myself to make more personal art and honor the franchises that influenced and shaped me as a kid. And even though Zelda left the biggest impact on me, without a doubt, theres no IP I have spent more time in than Pokmon. I was a huge consumer of the anime, manga, trading cards, merch, and spin-off games. One of my favorite spin-off games being Pokmon Mystery Dungeon a story-rich Pokmon RPG that starts with a personality quiz that determines which Pokmon you play as. And as you can guess, the first time I played it, the game chose Squirtle for me.When choosing a new character to make, Sitompul thinks about contrast, which creates interest, in his opinion, and Squirtle was a perfect subject, especially its hard red shell contrasting against chubby reptilian skin.He sculpted the Pokmon in ZBrush, retopologized it in Maya, baked it in Marmoset Toolbag, AO-painted in 3DCoat, and then assembled the textures in a custom master material created in Unreal Engine 5.If the beach scene is familiar to you, its because we showed the stylized waves not long ago.     After it was leaked a few days earlier than intended, Konami officially confirmed during the February State of Play that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will launch on August 28. This remake of the 2004 stealth-action game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater also debuted a new trailer during State of Play that recreated several pivotal moments from the trailer before closing with a glimpse of its crossover with Ape Escape. Although the story and voice overs remain the same, there have been a number of new additions for this remake. There will be an option for a third-person view, as well as the traditional MGS top-down viewpoint. Players will also be able to change their camo on the fly with a quick-select button, which may help them remain undetected during tense situations.Most of the game's Easter eggs have also been incorporated into the remake, with new additions called GA-KO, which will be hidden throughout the game.     Returnal developer Housemarque revealed its next game during February 2025's PlayStation State of Play. It's called Saros, and the award-winning team plans to launch it in 2026 for PlayStation 5, with enhancements for PlayStation 5 Pro.Saros is a single-player action game that follows an explorer named Arjun Devraj, played by Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Bly Manor), who is stranded on an alien planet, similar to Returnal. Housemarque creative director Gregory Louden called Saros an "evolution of the Housemarque gameplay-first experience" that builds on Returnal's structure. "A key gameplay distinction between Saros and Returnal is permanent resources and progression making every death valuable," Louden said in a PlayStation Blog post. In the future, humanity ventures among the stars. To survive the journey to new star systems, humanity created the Cores. Each Core is a system capable of storing human data, preserving a digital record of a human psyche and rebuilding it upon reaching its destination. One such destination is Moebius, an artificial city built by corporations to extract precious minerals from the planet Vulcan. You are Aska, an android created by one of the citys founders. Nexus, your creator, has one goal for you: Follow orders, and maybe you will be able to save the inanimate colonists trapped in the Citadel.One of the most unique gameplay mechanics in Metal Eden is Core Ripping. This feature enhances the combat experience by adding a strategic layer to how players engage with enemies. In this post, well delve into how you can master this ability to dominate your foes and make the most of Askas powerful skills.Todays reveal trailer shows that, equipped with the Multitool, Aska can use its Gravity Beam to rip Cores out of enemies bodies. Consuming a core offers different advantages depending on your choices throughout the game Like empowering your melee attacks, mobility or survivability.     Sony revealed the latest in Q-Games PixelJunk series during its State of Play presentation Wednesday, and its a gorgeous shooter with a twist.Directed by Tomohisa Kuramitsu, who goes by Baiyon and is probably best known for his work on the PixelJunk Eden series, Dreams of Another is a shooter built around the idea that you dont just use guns to destroy objects, but to create things, and it features a dreamlike art style.The trailer shows a character, who seems to be wearing pajamas, carrying various guns and traveling through surreal environments one with horses running from a carousel, another with a robot running down a street.We dont know exactly how it all works just yet, but some passages in the trailer give a few clues. No creation without destruction, the trailer says. Because destruction is by no means an end but a beginning of something beyond. All human life is finite and that is why you feel an explosion of life when something is destroyed.According to Q-Games, the game uses point cloud rendering technology to create its unique visual style, and to also allow players to alter the world in various ways. The particle-heavy visuals give off a bit of a Rez Infinite vibe, which seems appropriate given how well that approached worked in VR, as Dreams of Another is heading to both PS5 and PS VR2.Following the trailer, Kuramitsu said the game defies the norms of shooting games. Rather than using weapons to harm or destroy, you use them to transform the abstract chaos and materialize the world around you.Dreams of Another is heading scheduled for release in 2025.
