PlayStation 5 currently rules the roost, with the cunning plan of doing absolutely nothing, and Xbox is ploughing ahead with a new console, despite the last two both being flops. None of it seems to make sense but then not much does in the world at the moment.What does make sense is that there is a lot of excitement about the Nintendo Switch 2, with a surprising lack of negativity surrounding it, given how the internet usually is and how secretive Nintendo is being. The only thing I can think of which could turn things against them is if the console is unexpectedly expensive or it has a poor launch line-up.I think Nintendo has been in this game long enough not to make that mistake though, which, in my opinion, gives them a huge opportunity for the next generation. Theyve got all this buzz behind them, their games for the Switch have been excellent, and the PlayStation 6 and next gen Xbox arent going to be out for years. They could not ask for a better opportunity.Im not suggesting Nintendo isnt capable of making mistakes.
