A new update has leaked which is bleaker than expected, warning Samsung will miss its own promised deadline, one that was issued just a few weeks ago.Android 15 and Samsungs One UI 7 wrap should have been gracing Galaxy S24s and S23s by now we expected a mid-Feb release. To say that fans are disappointed, SamMobile says, would be an understatement. There hasnt been any justification for the delay, especially given the software is already live on the new Galaxy S25.The latest twist comes courtesy of Samsung Romania, which seemingly leaked an Android 15 timetable from the companys Korean HQ on a Zoom call. That suggests the end of Q1 promise for S24s at least will be missed. Those phones as well as the older Galaxy S23s will be waiting until the latter half of April for an upgrade.Notable tipster Tarun Vats reshared the post, adding that it matched the timeline I have for the One UI 7 stable release for the Galaxy S24. We had been warmed up to this by recent hints of several more One UI 7 betas to come before the stable release was GA. But seeing it in black and white is a surprise. At least theres a plan, albeit there was a timeline before and it has already been missed.As Googles Pixel gets its teeth into the new Android 16 beta, the optics remain challenging for Samsung, Androids largest OEM. I expect attention will turn to Android 16 very soon as more of its features leak. It would be good for Samsung to come out with a statement of intent to narrow the gap to Pixel this time around.Android 15 is a major security and privacy upgrade, coming a time when the mobile threat landscape is getting more difficult. Samsung has done an excellent job with its One Ui 7 wrap, and fans wont be disappointed when the software eventually turns up. The hope now will be that this is a firm and final timeline that wont slip again.

Construction started in January and operations are set to begin within 18 months, according to an announcement released this week.Expanding our downstream processing capabilities is essential to our strategy for maximizing the value of our extensive nickel resources, Teddy Oetomo, president director of MBMA, said in the statement.Once complete, the smelter will produce 90,000 tonnes of mixed hydroxide precipitate, a crucial material for making EV batteries. The plant is located next to an existing smelter run by Huayue Nickel Cobalt, a joint venture led by Chinese billionaire Chen Xuehuas Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt.The new plant will source its raw material, laterite nickel ore, from MBMAs Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral unit, which operates one of the worlds largest nickel mines. That mine holds about 13.8 million tonnes of nickel and one million tonnes of cobalt.The project will be funded primarily through loans, with Indonesian and overseas banks committing $1.4 billion in financing.MBMAs parent company, Merdeka Copper Gold, counts billionaires Thohir and Soeryadjaya as major stakeholders. Thohir holds a 7.4% stake and Soeryadjayas Saratoga Investama Sedaya owns 19.4%. Thohir was ranked 17th on Indonesias 50 Richest list released last December with a net worth of $3.8 billion, while Soeryadjaya ranked 33rd with $1.6 billion. Thohir also leads Alamtri Resources Indonesia, one of the worlds top coal exporters, while Soeryadjayas Saratoga has stakes in around 20 companies, including Alamtri.

On an earnings call in November, Eschenbach said that 80% of the federal government's HR systems were on local servers.Workday makes cloud-based human resource software used by employers for job applications, payroll, and performance evaluations.The company's fourth-quarter revenue was $2.2 billion, beating analyst expectations of $2.18 billion. It's centered mainly on driver-assist features like guiding vehicles on making turns and lane changes.Tesla said that the rollout of some features "may vary based on the vehicle's model and configuration." The company said it will gradually introduce self-driving features to more of its vehicles.Representatives for Tesla did not respond to a request for comment from BI.Tesla's move comes after Chinese automaker BYD said all its customers would get self-driving software for free. Tesla owners in China have to pay about $8,800 to access their vehicle's self-driving features.Tesla has been facing increased pressure from competitors like BYD.
