Technological advances continue to move at breakneck speeds. While companies struggle through their digital transformation journeys, even more new technologies emerge, with promises of opportunity, cost savingsand added complexity. Many companies have yet to fully adopt AI and ML technologies, let alone figure out how newer technologies like generative AI might fit into their programs. A 2024 IDC survey revealed 22% of tech leaders said their organizations havent yet reached full digital maturity, and 41% of respondents said the complexity of integrating new technologies and approaches with existing tech stacks is the biggest challenge for tech adoption. To fuel successful technology adoption and maximize outcomes, companies need to focus on simplifying infrastructure architecture rather than how to make new technologies fit into existing stacks. Benefits of hybrid WAN Hybrid networking architectures support digital transformation journeys and emerging tech adoption in several ways. More efficient, even intelligent, data trafficking. A hybrid architecture brings together multiple avenues of data flow from MPLS and internet connectivity, which provides highly flexible, resilient architecture along with increased bandwidth to decrease network congestion. It also allows companies to prioritize critical data traffic. Hybrid WANs can also combine the hyper-secure connectivity of MPLS with software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) technology, which allows for intelligent switching across a companys information highways. If, for instance, one route encounters latency or malfunctions, that traffic will be automatically re-routed, helping to maintain continuous connectivity and reduce downtime. Increased scalability. The agility and flexibility of a hybrid WAN allows companies to dynamically scale bandwidth up or down as application needs change. An agile WAN architecture also paves the way for scaling business operations. Less complex cloud migration and easier adoption of new technologies. Adding internet connectivity to MPLS circuits allows for seamless data trafficking to the cloud, providing a more direct way for companies to transition to cloud-first strategies. Easing cloud migration also opens doors for emerging technologies like AI, generative AI, and machine learning, enabling companies to innovate to remain relevant in their markets. Improved productivity. The internet speed and connectivity of a hybrid WAN keeps geographically separated company locations and remote workers connected, increasing efficiency and collaboration. Easier integration with legacy systems. A hybrid approach allows legacy MPLS connections to remain, while offloading less sensitive data traffic to the internet. Air France looked to increase its network and application performance threefold without incurring additional costsand while ensuring the security and integrity of their network. A hybrid WAN solutionspecifically, using MPLS and internet services from Tata Communications and other third-party providersafforded the flexibility, resilience, and continuous connectivity they needed. According to Tata Communications, the hybrid architecture increased Air Frances network availability to more than 99.94%, supporting its global office locations as well as their customer-facing applications, including passenger and cargo bookings and operating service centers. However, which connectivity to choose based on location type and application is complex, given the fact that networks vary by region, and one has to also take into account regulations, for e.g., in China, says Purkayastha. You might think you understand the purpose of a smart ring by now. It measures your steps, your stress levels, your sleep -- you get it. But wait! Lenovo's concept AI smart ring is a whole different kettle of fish.I'll admit that when I tried it on just now at Mobile World Congress here in Barcelona, it looked and felt much like the smart rings I've worn before. It had the profile of a man's wedding ring, with slightly too much bulk around the sides. Form is one thing though, function another entirely.The point of this ring is to allow for gesture-based control of Lenovo's ThinkBook 3D Laptop (also currently a concept). The laptop itself has a directional 3D backlight that allows 2D and 3D content to appear next to each other simultaneously on the same screen. In the demo I was shown, I could navigate between 3D models, including a T. rex and a spaceship, and examine them from all angles simply by gently grazing the ring. In the demo I was able to flick through a presentation of slides simply by clicking with my thumb and middle finger. I didn't even touch the ring, but it could clearly read the vibration in my hand. I felt a little like a wizard -- albeit a wizard presenting a slide deck (and if I were a wizard I'd probably use my powers to avoid being in a corporate job).The clicking was seamless, but the gesture control was tricky to get the hang of and didn't always work exactly how it was supposed to. It's important to remember though that this is just a concept for now, and as a concept, it's one I liked. Wearable tech often ends up simply being variations on a theme -- that theme being fitness tracking -- but this showed a sense of imagination and ambition that I'd love to see more of in the growing smart ring market.

I don't know, paying an artist to put something original together.Instead, the first announcement of Guitar Hero Mobile, posted to Activision's Instagram, comes with its logo splashed over some weird AI backdrop, where four suspiciously-similar silhouettes hold red guitars in identical poses surrounded by towers of amps that look like washing machines. But clearly this is fine now, apparently, because it's only been a week since Activision admitted it had begun using cheap-looking AI artwork for its flagship Call of Duty franchise. Players spotted a note from Activision confirming Call of Duty "uses generative AI tools to help develop some in-game assets" that was belatedly added to the Steam page for Black Ops 6.As well as AI-generated in-game calling card 2D art assets, Black Ops 6 promotional artwork used last Christmas featured a Santa Claus zombie with six fingers. Image by VideoGamer.Human Torch is the most affected hero with this update as two of his abilities have received adjustments which will reduce the characters effectiveness in the heat of battle. First up is the Flaming Meteor dive where the character dives towards the ground, dealing damage to enemies and detonating any Flame Fields hit.Earlier, he used to trap enemies with the dive inside the walls of Flame Fields each time, however, the current adjustment fixes it, meaning his enemies wont be trapped anymore. Second adjustment has been made to his Pyro Prison ability which will now disappear once hes defeated in a match. This now fixes the issue where his flame fields were still visible even after his elimination, which constantly dealt damage to enemies.The PunisherThe Punishers ultimate ability has received a fix where he kept firing missiles from his barrage during a network lag or slower ping. This exploit was used by a bunch of players in quick play and competitive lobbies to win matches. Unfortunately, they wont be able to use it anymore.Jeff The Land SharkJeffs team-up ability with Luna Snow has received a fix where earlier his Frozen Spitballs used to deal extra damage to enemies and had a higher range of effect. With the patch, this bug has been fixed, meaning it will revert back to the damage and range intended when the ability is used.Buffed CharactersLokis ultimate will now be able to transform him correctly into any character. However, if he failed to execute his ult, it used to completely disappear and his energy for recharging his ult would be lost. But thanks to the March 6 update, if his ult fails near cliff edges, 50% energy will be properly refunded, meaning you can rack it up again and use it to resurrect your teammates.Peni ParkerWhile Peni is a star Vanguard, she easily slips from her position and is often thrown away by enemy abilities like Namors ultimate. When he uses his ult, Peni often slips from her position and is thrown to the side.
