• Plug and Play: Build a G-Assist Plug-In Today

Project G-Assist — available through the NVIDIA App — is an experimental AI assistant that helps tune, control and optimize NVIDIA GeForce RTX systems.
NVIDIA’s Plug and Play: Project G-Assist Plug-In Hackathon — running virtually through Wednesday, July 16 — invites the community to explore AI and build custom G-Assist plug-ins for a chance to win prizes and be featured on NVIDIA social media channels.

G-Assist allows users to control their RTX GPU and other system settings using natural language, thanks to a small language model that runs on device. It can be used from the NVIDIA Overlay in the NVIDIA App without needing to tab out or switch programs. Users can expand its capabilities via plug-ins and even connect it to agentic frameworks such as Langflow.
Below, find popular G-Assist plug-ins, hackathon details and tips to get started.
    Plug-In and Win
Join the hackathon by registering and checking out the curated technical resources.
G-Assist plug-ins can be built in several ways, including with Python for rapid development, with C++ for performance-critical apps and with custom system interactions for hardware and operating system automation.
For those that prefer vibe coding, the G-Assist Plug-In Builder — a ChatGPT-based app that allows no-code or low-code development with natural language commands — makes it easy for enthusiasts to start creating plug-ins.
To submit an entry, participants must provide a GitHub repository, including source code file, requirements.txt, manifest.json, config.json, a plug-in executable file and READme code.
Then, submit a video — between 30 seconds and two minutes — showcasing the plug-in in action.
Finally, hackathoners must promote their plug-in using #AIonRTXHackathon on a social media channel: Instagram, TikTok or X. Submit projects via this form by Wednesday, July 16.
Judges will assess plug-ins based on three main criteria: 1) innovation and creativity, 2) technical execution and integration, reviewing technical depth, G-Assist integration and scalability, and 3) usability and community impact, aka how easy it is to use the plug-in.
Winners will be selected on Wednesday, Aug. 20. First place will receive a GeForce RTX 5090 laptop, second place a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU and third a GeForce RTX 5070 GPU. These top three will also be featured on NVIDIA’s social media channels, get the opportunity to meet the NVIDIA G-Assist team and earn an NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute self-paced course credit.
Project G-Assist requires a GeForce RTX 50, 40 or 30 Series Desktop GPU with at least 12GB of VRAM, Windows 11 or 10 operating system, a compatible CPU, specific disk space requirements and a recent GeForce Game Ready Driver or NVIDIA Studio Driver.
Plug-InExplore open-source plug-in samples available on GitHub, which showcase the diverse ways on-device AI can enhance PC and gaming workflows.

    Popular plug-ins include:

Google Gemini: Enables search-based queries using Google Search integration and large language model-based queries using Gemini capabilities in real time without needing to switch programs from the convenience of the NVIDIA App Overlay.
Discord: Enables users to easily share game highlights or messages directly to Discord servers without disrupting gameplay.
IFTTT: Lets users create automations across hundreds of compatible endpoints to trigger IoT routines — such as adjusting room lights and smart shades, or pushing the latest gaming news to a mobile device.
Spotify: Lets users control Spotify using simple voice commands or the G-Assist interface to play favorite tracks and manage playlists.
Twitch: Checks if any Twitch streamer is currently live and can access detailed stream information such as titles, games, view counts and more.

  • So, there’s this thing about how Discord was ported to Windows 95 and NT 3.1. Honestly, it’s kind of interesting, but also a bit dull. Like, who even thinks about running Discord on those old systems? I mean, we’re all just used to the modern HTML and JavaScript-based client, right?

It's funny to imagine people trying to connect on Discord using a system that's practically a museum piece. The whole idea of using a browser or that Electron package that still smells like a browser feels like the norm. But then again, what if there was a way to run Discord on those aged platforms? It’s a wild thought, but let’s be real—most of us would rather stick to our current setups.

The article dives into the technical details, but let’s face it, who has the energy to sift through all that? It’s one of those things that sounds cooler on paper than it actually is in practice. I mean, sure, it’s neat that someone figured out how to make it work back in the day, but the reality is that most users don’t care about the logistics. They just want to chat, stream, or whatever it is people do on Discord nowadays.

And it’s not like anyone is lining up to use Discord on Windows 95 or NT 3.1. I can’t even imagine the lag. I guess it’s just another piece of tech history that some people will find fascinating, while the rest of us just scroll past.

So, yeah, that’s pretty much it. Discord on ancient systems is a thing. It happened. People did it. But let’s not pretend that it’s something we’re all eager to dive into. Honestly, I’d rather just scroll through memes or something.

SirCozyCrow5 hours agoThe sound track is PEAK! I loved playing this, and my partner who normally doesn't play games like this one had a good time as well. I enjoyed the learning curve and I can't wait to play the harder difficulties. Here's a video I made, my partner jumped in for a few minutes as well.Replyso funReplyDrew.a.Chain1 day agoVery addictive!ReplyTrashpanda1191 day agolove the playstyle and the art style definitly fun to play plus the music is the cherry on topReplyAhoOppai1 day agoreally fun game cant wait for the full gameReplyDin Xavier coding1 day agoI chose the laser eye. Can I even do that?Replyoverboy1 day agoHey, the laser eye gets a random direction at the start of each wave, it's one of the specificities of this attack ;)ReplyFort Kenmei1 day agoGameplay and Critique ;)Replyoverboy1 day agoThanks a lot for the awesome video and the feedback! :)ReplyTLGaby2 days agoJust to know browser progress keep getting reset.Replyoverboy1 day agoThanks for the report! Could it be due to some of your browser settings?Unfortunately, browser-based games can't always guarantee reliable local saves due to how browsers handle storage. To avoid this in the future, I recommend trying the downloadable version of the demo,  it provides a more stable environment for saving progress. :)Replyepic.Replyoleekconder2 days agoVery nice. Bigfoot is such a cool idea, and running around at that speed with like.... all THAT going on just gave me motion sickness.Summoner is hysterical fun. All hail spiders. Tomatoe's are pretty fun too.The Adept is so cool in theory, but... once you have the right build is a bit of a "standing still simulator"  Also, if you have totoms or other turrets, there's very much the question each round of "Will my circle spawn NEAR the totoms , or far from them "   I kind of wonder if the mage circle should like... fizzle out after 20 seconds and appear somewhere else. Just... something to give a bit more dynamism, and to make the original spawn point less critical.Okay: added thoughts:Watering psycotic tomatoes feels great.Being a malevolent spider with 8 arms feels amazing. I absolutely suck at brotatolikes. But find this one easy, so it's probably undertuned as far as difficulty is concerned. The power and availability of HP and regen items, makes you just literally not care if you get hit. Then the relatively strong armor on top and you're just too tanky for anything to feasibly ever kill you.Replyoverboy10 days agoThanks for the feedback! Sounds like tanky builds might be a bit too forgiving right now, i'll do some balancing changesReplySkeppartorsk9 days agoLife steal has similar issues too. There's also the standard issue with knockback in these kinds of games. The lack of any enemy resistance/diminishing returns, means it's way too easy to get enough knockback that enemies cannot touch you anymore. Ranged attacks are too few and far between to worry about with the current levels of sustain. Meaning you can just Stand Still and Kill way too realiably.

I agree on the opaque thing. But I was more thinking something akin to how CC Diminishing Returns works in WoW. Where 1st hit = full value, 2nd hit within 10s = half value, 3rd hit = 1/4 value. It's not just bullshit. It has a coherent story. If you haven't heard of the Golden Idol games, then it's basically a game where you investigate mysterious deaths and fill in the blanks of the story. You can navigate from multiple different scenes and click on people and objects to gather important clues. I think it was a good game. I like that it's similar to the Golden Idol games. I also liked that you could see the exact amount of wrong slots when it's less than or equal to 2. It said either two incorrect or one incorrect. This isn't how it works in the Golden Idol games. Although, this might make the game too easy. I am not sure tho.

  • What Happened to CryEngine?

CryEngine, for a time, stood as one of the most exciting game engines available, consistently pushing the boundaries of what was graphically possible on PC hardware. Titles like the original Crysis were often cited as benchmarks, demanding top-tier systems to truly shine, yet delivering stunning visuals that even today hold up remarkably well. For years, CryEngine was a significant player, underpinning a number of high-profile games that helped establish Crytek’s reputation. To this day the mean “But can it run Far Cry” its still alive and well.
However, the engine’s journey hasn’t been without its twists and turns. Ubisoft, for instance, licensed CryEngine when they acquired the Far Cry IP, which later became the basis of their in-house Dunia engine. Perhaps the most notable shift came when Amazon licensed the engine, rebranding it as Lumberyard and eventually evolving it into the open-source O3DE. At this point O3DE and CryEngine are very different engines, but based off a common core. Meanwhile, Crytek themselves continued to use CryEngine for various titles, including the Crysis series, Ryse: Son of Rome, and more recently, popular multiplayer games like Hunt: Showdown. A number of 3rd party developers have made use of CryEngine too, such as Star Citizen, Prey, a personal favourite MechWarrior Online and most recently the critically acclaimed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Despite these recent released games, the future of CryEngine for developers is much muddier. In 2022, Crytek announced a new version of Crysis in the works, only to put it on hold, accompanied by layoffs of 15% of their workforce. While Crytek’s CEO has stated a continued commitment to developing CryEngine, particularly for Hunt: Showdown, their efforts seem focused internally. CryEngine 5.7 LTS, released in April 2022 was the last update, leading to speculation among the community. Even though Crytek announced CryEngine 5.11 for the Hunt games, it was never publicly released. Crytek have stated on their discord server that the 5.7 LTS version will be the final public release of the 5.x branch.

So, where does that leave CryEngine? It’s clear that Crytek is still actively developing the engine, primarily for their own titles like Hunt: Showdown. However, the public release cycle and the broader availability to third-party developers seem to be in flux. Whether CryEngine can reclaim its former prominence as a widely adopted engine beyond Crytek’s own titles remains an open question, and only time will tell what the future holds for this once-groundbreaking technology. • Discord Invite Link Hijacking Delivers AsyncRAT and Skuld Stealer Targeting Crypto Wallets

    Jun 14, 2025Ravie LakshmananMalware / Threat Intelligence

A new malware campaign is exploiting a weakness in Discord's invitation system to deliver an information stealer called Skuld and the AsyncRAT remote access trojan.
"Attackers hijacked the links through vanity link registration, allowing them to silently redirect users from trusted sources to malicious servers," Check Point said in a technical report. "The attackers combined the ClickFix phishing technique, multi-stage loaders, and time-based evasions to stealthily deliver AsyncRAT, and a customized Skuld Stealer targeting crypto wallets."
The issue with Discord's invite mechanism is that it allows attackers to hijack expired or deleted invite links and secretly redirect unsuspecting users to malicious servers under their control. This also means that a Discord invite link that was once trusted and shared on forums or social media platforms could unwittingly lead users to malicious sites.

Details of the campaign come a little over a month after the cybersecurity company revealed another sophisticated phishing campaign that hijacked expired vanity invite links to entice users into joining a Discord server and instruct them to visit a phishing site to verify ownership, only to have their digital assets drained upon connecting their wallets.
While users can create temporary, permanent, or custominvite links on Discord, the platform prevents other legitimate servers from reclaiming a previously expired or deleted invite. However, Check Point found that creating custom invite links allows the reuse of expired invite codes and even deleted permanent invite codes in some cases.

This ability to reuse Discord expired or deleted codes when creating custom vanity invite links opens the door to abuse, allowing attackers to claim it for their malicious server.
"This creates a serious risk: Users who follow previously trusted invite linkscan unknowingly be redirected to fake Discord servers created by threat actors," Check Point said.
The Discord invite-link hijacking, in a nutshell, involves taking control of invite links originally shared by legitimate communities and then using them to redirect users to the malicious server. Users who fall prey to the scheme and join the server are asked to complete a verification step in order to gain full server access by authorizing a bot, which then leads them to a fake website with a prominent "Verify" button.
This is where the attackers take the attack to the next level by incorporating the infamous ClickFix social engineering tactic to trick users into infecting their systems under the pretext of verification.

Specifically, clicking the "Verify" button surreptitiously executes JavaScript that copies a PowerShell command to the machine's clipboard, after which the users are urged to launch the Windows Run dialog, paste the already copied "verification string", and press Enter to authenticate their accounts.
But in reality, performing these steps triggers the download of a PowerShell script hosted on Pastebin that subsequently retrieves and executes a first-stage downloader, which is ultimately used to drop AsyncRAT and Skuld Stealer from a remote server and execute them.
At the heart of this attack lies a meticulously engineered, multi-stage infection process designed for both precision and stealth, while also taking steps to subvert security protections through sandbox security checks.
AsyncRAT, which offers comprehensive remote control capabilities over infected systems, has been found to employ a technique called dead drop resolver to access the actual command-and-controlserver by reading a Pastebin file.
The other payload is a Golang information stealer that's downloaded from Bitbucket. It's equipped to steal sensitive user data from Discord, various browsers, crypto wallets, and gaming platforms.
Skuld is also capable of harvesting crypto wallet seed phrases and passwords from the Exodus and Atomic crypto wallets. It accomplishes this using an approach called wallet injection that replaces legitimate application files with trojanized versions downloaded from GitHub. It's worth noting that a similar technique was recently put to use by a rogue npm package named pdf-to-office.
The attack also employs a custom version of an open-source tool known as ChromeKatz to bypass Chrome's app-bound encryption protections. The collected data is exfiltrated to the miscreants via a Discord webhook.
The fact that payload delivery and data exfiltration occur via trusted cloud services such as GitHub, Bitbucket, Pastebin, and Discord allows the threat actors to blend in with normal traffic and fly under the radar. Discord has since disabled the malicious bot, effectively breaking the attack chain.

Check Point said it also identified another campaign mounted by the same threat actor that distributes the loader as a modified version of a hacktool for unlocking pirated games. The malicious program, also hosted on Bitbucket, has been downloaded 350 times.
It has been assessed that the victims of these campaigns are primarily located in the United States, Vietnam, France, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
The findings represent the latest example of how cybercriminals are targeting the popular social platform, which has had its content delivery networkabused to host malware in the past.
"This campaign illustrates how a subtle feature of Discord's invite system, the ability to reuse expired or deleted invite codes in vanity invite links, can be exploited as a powerful attack vector," the researchers said. "By hijacking legitimate invite links, threat actors silently redirect unsuspecting users to malicious Discord servers."
"The choice of payloads, including a powerful stealer specifically targeting cryptocurrency wallets, suggests that the attackers are primarily focused on crypto users and motivated by financial gain."

Star Trucker Coming to PlayStation 5 on June 10
Intergalactic Big Rigs Chart Their Course to a New Platform STOCKHOLM – June 4, 2025 – Today, Swedish indie publisher Raw Fury and developer Monster & Monster announced that their interstellar trucking simulator, Star Trucker, is coming to PlayStation 5 on June 10, joining its current availability on PC via Steam and GOG, and Xbox Series X|S.  In addition to the PlayStation 5 launch, a new game update will also deliver several quality of life upgrades and new features to further enhance players’ galaxy-hopping trucking experience. Star Trucker puts an intergalactic twist on the trucking simulation genre by bringing authentic and grounded trucking gameplay to an out-of-this-world setting. Star Trucker invites players to take to the ultimate open road and search for fame and fortune among the stars. Watch the PlayStation announcement trailer here. Press Kit can be found here. In Star Trucker, players tame the most open road of them all – space – in a true Americana-inspired retro sci-fi fashion. Players will be able to explore expansive worlds, overcome the challenges and opportunities with zero-g truck physics, skill up their mastery over hauling different types of goods and upgrade their truck to complete their jobs faster and more efficiently.  Key Features in Star Trucker include: Cruise the hyper highways, taking on a variety of jobs such as fuel-hungry long hauls and hazardous drop-offs to earn cash and unlock new content.
