  • I've been a Disney adult for 11 years. Seeing the parks through my grandson's eyes for the first time made it even more special.

This was my grandson's first trip and my 20th trip to Walt Disney World.Seeing Disney World from his perspective, I found new magical details, even at the airport.Since he was under the age of 3, his park admission and character meal at Crystal Palace were free.I've done Disney World many ways solo, with my husband, friends, son, a group of nine, and a group of 11 at our Disney wedding. The 20th trip was a magical milestone, joining my grandson on his first trip to Disney World. Grandpa and Nonna, what my grandson calls me, tagged along with him, Mom and Dad for fireworks, food, a few meltdowns, and crashing a spaceship.Finding new magical details, even at the airportI haven't been to Disney World with a little kid in 11 years. Visiting with my grandson, I saw Disney in a new, much shorter perspective. It started at the airport. I watched and amused him while the parents and grandpa installed the car seat and loaded the many bags.Seeing Orlando airport from a 3-year-old's perspective, I found Disney details I'd never seen before. Cinderella Castle, Mickey, Pluto, and seven dwarfs can all be spotted on the wall in the reserved car area.3 and under are freeAt not quite 3 years old, my grandson was a guest of Mickey Mouse and got free park admission. Anyone who goes to Disney frequently knows free is not a word you hear often. We got some playtime with Winnie the Pooh and friends at Crystal Palace. Courtesy of the author He also didn't add an occupant to the hotel room; his meal at Crystal Palace was considered an infant price and free. Crystal Palace was a great first-character meal.We visited at 11 a.m. and had both breakfast and lunch buffet options. Mickey waffles and prime rib breakfast of champions. We hung out with Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore. There was plenty of time for autographs, photos, and a bit of fun with each character. It was also a good test of how he'd do with characters. There's nothing worse than waiting in line for 30 minutes only to find out your kid is terrified of meeting characters.Philharmagic is a must-do with little kidsWhen at Disney World with little kids, you spend a lot of time in Fantasyland. Ask any parent with a toddler how many times they've ridden Goofy's Barnstormer. It was very cool for my grandson and I to have a Disney World first together. Riding a vintage Disney ride, the Astro Orbiter, for the first time with my grandson was memorable. Courtesy of the author This was the same day Astro Orbiter was going down for a refurbishment. We met a few Cast Members in line that were getting their last rides in before it closed until summer.Disney magic stopped the toddler meltdownAs part of our planning, we gave the parents a date night. We planned to see my grandma's favorite Country Bears with the little one.Instead, we had a passed-out cold toddler in a stroller for a few hours. After some cheeseburger eggrolls, we staked out our spot at Magic Kingdom for the nighttime show Happily Ever After. The Disney PhotoPass photographer gave us this photo idea Disney PhotoPass When he woke up to us instead of Mom and Dad, he had a meltdown. It had been a long day, and he was just having none of it. We considered leaving as the screaming got even louder. Then, those famous first few bars of the show music started, and instantly, the crying stopped. For the next 18 minutes, Disney magic took over. And thankfully, it was long enough for Mom and Dad to make it back.We made so many memoriesWe made so many magical memories over our 3.5 days of grandparenting at Disney World. One we are all still laughing about happened on our last day. After out-of-this-world drinks and snacks at Oga's Cantina we saw the wait time for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run was only 15 minutes. Spontaneous decision made! Not only did we all get to sit together, but we also had a job to do.Grandpa and Nonna were pilots, and my grandson was an engineer. All four adults got super into the ride, laughing, yelling instructions at each other, and trying to help my grandson when it was his turn.We didn't do well and crashed the spaceship a few times. At dinner, my grandson looked at me and very seriously said, "Nonna crashed the spaceship. Why did you do that, Nonna?"He then proceeded to tell our waiter and just about anyone who would listen the rest of the trip and once we were home how I crashed the spaceship so he couldn't push the button.Every time I've seen him since he asks me why I crashed the spaceship. Fireworks, hugging Tigger, riding his first roller coaster, and it's that I crashed the spaceship he remembers. And I love it.

  • Steam Spring Sale bargain offers one of my favourite games of the year for less than 6
    www.dailystar.co.uk
The Headliners is some of the most fun I've had playing video games in recent months, and it's cheaper than you may think in the Steam Spring Sale here's why it's worth a lookTech22:00, 15 Mar 2025Updated 22:12, 15 Mar 2025Yes, that's a KaijuThe Steam Spring Sale is packing a whole bunch of discounts, and while there are some indie gems and AAA hits, I took a punt on a smaller title that launched in January of this year. The Headliners stars you and your friends as a group of hapless journalists (imagine that...), thrown into a city in chaos that falls somewhere between a zombie apocalypse, alien invasion, and kaiju attack.Article continues belowNot being sure what to expect, I figured I could spare the 5.35 it currently costs to jump in. What I found is a mix of the hilarious and horrific, a slapstick horror game that I can see myself coming back to over the months ahead.Movement is clumsy in the best wayThe idea of The Headliners is relatively simple. You and your comrades are photographers, and in Pokemon Snap-style, you're tasked with grabbing as many impossible photos as you can.Spot a creepy spider thing crawling toward you? Quick, snap it! See a colleague get their leg torn off by a monster? Document it! You get more points for the more bizarre and action-packed the shot, and that translates into the opportunity to spend more money on new gear like better cameras (they only have capacity for 10 shots, use them wisely), torches, and backpacks. The magic is in the execution. There's a blocky aesthetic to the locales, with characters being much more cartoonish. Pair that with in-game chat that sees their mouths move as you speak, and the option to snap a selfie with your fellow shutterbugs, and you've got a recipe for hilarious photo compositions."Say Cheese!"That's not to say there isn't plenty of jump scare potential, however. The Headliners may appear goofy, but when you're running low on stamina and hear something breathing down your neck (directional audio is fantastic), or your teammates walkie talkies go dead and you're on your own, you'll want to make a run for it.Add in creatures capable of possessing teammates, monsters that can burst through drain covers, and the fact you only get points if you successfully extract with your camera, and you've got a recipe for multiplayer chaos that flips the idea of running away from danger on its head. That's because you'll often need to press deeper into abandoned malls and offices to capture evidence of whatever the hell is going on, and there's nothing quite like extracting via helicopter as a Cloverfield-esque monster comes charging down the street.Article continues belowFor the sake of just over a fiver, I wholeheartedly recommend The Headliners. For more on PC gaming, be sure to check out how Monster Hunter Wilds has helped Steam to a new concurrent player record, as well as what it's like moving from console to PC.For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletters.

    gizmodo.com
The Formula 1 2025 season starts on March 14th. This day marks the beginning of the Australian Grand Prix, which lasts until March 16th. The good news is that you can watch the F1 Australian GP on several free channels. However, theres also this premium group of platforms, which many people worldwide use. Unfortunately, theyre pretty expensive and usually not worth it for those looking to stream just a few Grand Prix races a year.Nevertheless, well focus on 100% free channels for watching the Australian Grand Prix here, but also discuss some of the premium platforms you can use if you want.Date and scheduleMarch 16, 12 am EST / 3 pm AEDT / March 15, 9 pm PSTFree channels10Play (Australia English commentary), RTBF (Belgium), SRF (Switzerland), ORF (Austria)Free Channels for Streaming 2025 F1 Australian GPAccording to the official Formula 1 website, you can broadcast the race on multiple channels, which include:10Play (Australia) our #1 recommended choice because it broadcasts the event in Full HD and English.ORF (Austria) Full HD footage with German commentaryRTBF (Belgium) Entire race in Full HD with Belgian commentarySRF (Switzerland) Free channel for streaming with Swiss commentaryThese channels are completely free and most of them dont even require an account. 10Play, which is the best option, does require an account but its free to make. Once you sign up, you can watch anything you want on it.10Play works exclusively in Australia and because of that, broadcasts the event with English commentary and in Full HD.The rest of the free channels for the 2025 Australian GP live streaming provide German, Belgian, and Swiss commentary respectively. Its also great to know that you can watch F1 live anywhere only on the other four channels, as 10Play live-streams only this race. But if youre interested only in this specific race, this should be your go-to option. How to See the Australian GP for Free?If youre outside Australia, youll have a hard time accessing 10Play. 10Play, like the rest of Australian TV channels, works only in this country, leaving people abroad with a geo-restriction message.Avid racing fans who also enjoy MotoGP races live with the trick well explain have noticed that a VPN can comfortably unblock this free TV channel.Namely, they used NordVPN as the most popular VPN with servers in Australia. NordVPN is a premium VPN service with nearly 200 Australian servers, unlimited bandwidth, and top-speed for streaming and other activities.Watch F1 Australian GP With NordVPNThose who use it love its compatibility on all devices. This, in turn, allows people to watch the 2025 Australian Grand Prix on a free channel even on the fly. The whole process is about obtaining an Australian IP address. This makes 10Play see the user as if hes actually in Australia, which allows access to the free channel. However, theres another incentive a 30-day money-back guarantee. Thanks to it, NordVPN is fully refundable in 30 days, and since the event lasts from the 14th to the 16th of March, theres enough time to be reimbursed. Are Paid Channels for Watching F1 Races Worth It?It all depends on how much you love this motorsport. However, most people would agree that these channels/services are way too expensive. Well list some of them below and comment on their prices:USA: F1 TV Pro, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, ESPN+Australia: Kayo Sports, Fox SportsUK: Sky Sports F1These are familiar names and perhaps, because of that, they tend to cost a lot. A good example is Hulu + Live TV, which is priced at a whopping $81.99/mo.Multiply this by 12 months and you get a ludicrous annual price.F1 TV Pro costs $84.99/year, which isnt too much but again, you can watch the 2025 F1 Australian Grand Prix on a free channel and spend nothing.Keep in mind that even premium platforms are region-locked, so you cant watch ESPN Plus anywhere unless you use a VPN, for example. So, are these channels worth their asking prices? Well let you answer that.Formula 1 Australian GP 2025 ScheduleUnsure when to tune in to 10Play and watch the event?Refer to the full schedule below for this information:First Practice, March 14 12.30 to 1.30 pm AEDTSecond Practice, March 14 4 to 5 pm AEDTThird Practice: March 15 12.30 to 1.30 pm AEDTQualifying: March 15 4 to 5 pm AEDTRace: March 16 3:00 PM AEDT, 12:00 AM EST, 9:00 PM PST (on March 15)Try NordVPN risk-free now

Circular Loop / HaengUnSiWoo ArchitectsArchitects: HaengUnSiWoo ArchitectsAreaArea of this architecture projectArea:397 mYearCompletion year of this architecture project Year: 2023 Lead Architects: Kim jonghyun, Koh eunjin More SpecsLess SpecsText description provided by the architects. The eco-experience center built within the Gangjeong Cruise Terminal was designed with a focus on utilizing the existing waterside park to plan an experience center and observation deck. To overcome the over 10-meter slope, the experience center was strategically placed between the parking lot and the circular plaza, creating a "circular loop" that ensures seamless accessibility for everyone.Initially, the plan was to maximize the height of the observation deck, but since the site was already at a lower level than the parking lot, no matter how high it was raised, it could not surpass the view from the parking lot. If overcoming the height difference was inherently challenging, then rather than going high, why not go wide? To achieve this within a limited space, we created a loop structurea continuous form where the start and end repeat. This loop, seemingly wrapping around the air, highlights the existing terrain and circular plaza while also symbolizing the cyclical nature of a terminal, a place where departures and arrivals continuously repeat.Save this picture!Parts of the circular loop serve as an observation deck, while other sections seamlessly connect to the existing walking trails, offering diverse viewpoints that create varied landscapes and experiences. Previously, the scenery consisted only of land and sky, but the addition of the observation deck introduced people and shadows between them. Despite having a uniform floor level, the observation deck presents different spatial compositions depending on how it meets the ground"Sometimes high, sometimes low, sometimes equal."To harmonize with the existing landscape, it was necessary to reconfigure both linear spaces and green spaces. Some of the black basalt stone in the circular plaza was removed, focusing on creating a settling space that aligns with the concept of a plaza. "The areas with black basalt stone are for walking." "The grassy lawn is for laying down a picnic mat."Now, let's explore the reason behind the circular shape. A circle ensures equal accessibility from any direction. Whether from the existing walkway directly connected to the parking lot, the stairs leading up from the cruise terminal, or the entrance to the new experience center, access is effortless from all points. To make the observation deck feel like a natural extension of the circular plaza's linear space, the floor finish of the deck was also covered with the same black basalt stone. While it may appear seamless, in reality, it is a continuation of old and new elements in a linear flow. The biggest beneficiary of the grassy transformation in the center of the circular plaza was Yeondae, the site's oldest remains. Previously, it was visually overshadowed by the surrounding black basalt stone, blending into the background due to its similarity in material. Now, the contrast between the basalt stones and the lush green lawn makes Yeondae stand out from afar.Save this picture!Designing the observation deck felt like playing a balancing game, where every step involved choosing between option A or option B. The first decision was between a steel structure or an RC (Reinforced Concrete Structure). Since the deck had to be built on a slope, steel columns posed challenges in foundation construction, and given the region's strong winds, concerns about shaking arose. Most decisively, constructing a curved shape in steel would triple the cost, so RC was chosen without hesitation. Next came the finishing decision. If slabs and beams were combined, the underside of the deck would appear too complex, requiring additional finishing work to cover itleading to increased costs. To keep things simple, an exposed concrete flat slab was selected. Finally, it was time to decide on the columns. Round columns had advantagesthey required smaller foundation plates, visually complemented the curved deck, and had aesthetic appeal.Save this picture! However, certain sections required custom formwork, making the process more complicated, and in some areas, two round columns would have been necessary instead of one. On the other hand, wall columns had easier formwork and could be extended as needed in the longitudinal direction, allowing a single column to suffice. However, wall columns required larger foundation plates, which meant more extensive excavation, significantly increasing civil engineering costsa major consideration given the sloped terrain. The foundation and excavation requirements took considerable time to review. Looking at the final result, the choice was simpleRound columns were used where they worked best, and wall columns were used where round columns were impractical.Project gallerySee allShow lessProject locationAddress:Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South KoreaLocation to be used only as a reference. gamerant.com
There is no shortage of compelling villains in gaming, but some of the best are often considered so because they are sympathetic or tragic. However, games with villains that really make players hate them can be just as effective as those that earn players' sympathy, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 features both sides of this spectrum. One character is particularly despicable and conjures comparisons to the infamously hated Micah Bell from Red Dead Redemption 2.

  • A show based on Philip K. Dicks The Variable Man is in the works
    www.engadget.com
According toDeadline, Humans writers Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent are working on an adaptation of Philip K. Dicks 1953 novella, The Variable Man. The show is being produced by Motive Pictures in a partnership with Electric Shepherd Productions, which is run by the late authors daughter, Isa Dick Hackett. The Variable Man follows a tinkerer turned accidental time traveler named Thomas Cole, who is transported from 1913 into the future and suddenly finds himself a reluctant player in an interplanetary conflict. Its being written for a UK broadcaster, according to Deadline, but there may be hope for a US release. When youve got Sam and John doing what they did so brilliantly with Humans and exploring the modern world through a genre lens, it is something that can absolutely attract broadcasters in the US, Motive CEO Simon Maxwell told the publication. I really enjoyed The Variable Man back when I read it and Ill give any PKD adaptation a chance, so heres hoping we get another good one in this series. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/entertainment/a-show-based-on-philip-k-dicks-the-variable-man-is-in-the-works-221301434.html?src=rss
