While Daredevil: Born Again is a continuation of the classic Netflix series that rekindles the rivalry between Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock and Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, there's also a new player on the board. Even as the series explores the struggles both men face in trying to reinvent themselves, it also pits them against a sadistic serial killer with a penchant for artistic expression. That killer is none other than Muse.Who is Muse, and why does this superhuman murderer have the ability to make even bitter rivals like Daredevil and Kingpin work together? Heres what you need to know about this twisted Marvel villain.Daredevil Episode 5 and 6 GalleryWho Is Muse?Muse is one of the more recent additions to Daredevils rogues gallery. The character was created by Charles Soule and Ron Garney and debuted in 2016s Daredevil #11. And in case there was any doubt, Soule himself confirmed that Muse can be seen in the original D23 Born Again trailer.Muse is a villain who wouldnt be out of place in the Hannibal TV series. Hes a prolific serial killer who sees murder as the highest form of artistic expression. In his first appearance, Muse paints a mural using the blood of a hundred missing persons. He later composes a piece by arranging the corpses of six Inhumans in various poses. Part of what makes Muse so dangerous to Daredevil specifically is that his body acts as a sort of sensory black hole, pulling in stimuli and effectively scrambling Matt Murdocks radar sense. When Daredevil finally brings his new foe to justice, Muse breaks his own fingers, purposely robbing himself of the ability to create more art. However, Muses hands are healed, and he soon escapes and resumes cutting a bloody swath through New York City. Muse becomes obsessed with the citys vigilantes, leaving twisted monuments to men like the Punisher even as the newly elected Mayor Wilson Fisk begins cracking down on vigilante activity. This triggers a rematch between Muse and Blindspot, with the latter tapping into the power of The Beast (the demonic entity worshiped by the ninja cult The Hand) to defeat his hated foe. Lamenting the fact that his story has become eclipsed by Blindspots, Muse commits suicide by walking into a fire.That final confrontation took place in 2018s Daredevil #600, and Muse has remained dead ever since. But this being the Marvel Universe, it seems only a matter of time before this accomplished killer returns to life and begins creating his sadistic form of art once more.PlayMuse in Daredevil: Born Again Warning: this section contains spoilers for the first six episodes of Daredevil: Born Again!The Daredevil: Born Again footage screened at D23, as well as subsequent trailers, confirmed that Muse will appear in the new Disney+ series. Muse's MCU design is almost identical to his comic book counterpart - a white mask and bodysuit with red, bloody tears running down his face. That said, the character seems to lack the superhuman powers and Inhuman heritage of his comic book counterpart.Even after six episodes, we still dont know who is playing the villain yet. We suspect there's a big reveal to come regarding Muse's secret identity.Muse's presence in the series is a clear sign that Born Again, despite sharing the name of an iconic 1986 Daredevil storyline by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, is also inspired by more contemporary Daredevil comics. The Born Again comic is about Wilson Fisk discovering Daredevils secret identity and using that knowledge to systematically destroy Matt Murdocks life. The show, while it hinges on the ongoing rivalry between Murdock and Fisk, seems to be veering in a different direction (and lets not forget that Fisk has already known Daredevils identity for some time in the MCU). As the first season has unfolded, it's become clear that Muse is a common enemy Matt and Fisk both share. The two aren't exactly in league with one another. Fisk made it very clear in their reunion early in the season that he'll have Matt arrested and prosecuted if he's found to have resumed his activities as Daredevil. Fisk campaigned on a platform of restoring law and order and cracking down on the city's vigilante problem. But having a serial killer running amok and leaving murals painted in human blood reflects poorly on the new administration.For Matt, Muse is the single greatest test of his resolve to leave Daredevil in the past. Matt has done his best to give up being Daredevil, following his gruesome rematch with Wilson Bethel's Bullseye and the tragic murder of Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson. After years spent both upholding the justice system and going beyond the court of law, Matt is desperately trying to respect the system. But after having his resolve sorely tested again and again, Matt finally gives in and becomes Daredevil again in Episode 6, after he learns Muse has kidnapped Angela Ayala (Ruibo Qian). Thus ensues another knock-down, drag-out brawl as Daredevil battles Muse in his underground lair while Angela bleeds out. Daredevil manages to save Angela, but Muse escapes. Surely, a rematch is coming before the end of the season, but what happens when Fisk joins the fray. Has Matt painted a giant target on his back by becoming Daredevil again? Ryan Serhant foresees a major luxury housing market shift in New York Citys near future. The star of Netflixs Owning Manhattan told Bloomberg that he believes the city will be the pied--terre capital of the United States by 2030largely because of hybrid and remote work.In the interview, Serhant acknowledged that many employers have mandated that their workforce return to the office, but many people are not commuting in five days a week. Apple recently launched a new campaign to promote AirPods 4 with a short film starring Pedro Pascal. Now the company has also shared a behind-the-scenes video with director Spike Jonze, who was behind the movie Someday.Behind-the-scenes video of AirPods 4 short filmWith the short film, Apple shows the benefits of the Active Noise Cancellation feature in AirPods 4 in a fun and creative way. In the behind-the-scenes video, Pascal and Jonze detail that the movie is about someone on a breakup and how music combined with the ANC feature on AirPods can transform the world around you.Its illustrating this idea that when you put on your AirPods and you put on Active Noise Cancellation, your whole world transforms with the music that you choose to put on to the mood that youre in, said producer Jorie Feldman.Costume designer Kym Barret, who also worked on the clip, details how they made two-tone costumes to match the scenery change. Interesting part of show is that you see people in a full costume of winter or summer and a particular color and then, in the middle of the scene you get in camera, an illusion.This is not the first time that Apple has worked with Spike Jonze on an advertisement for its products. In 2018, the filmmaker directed a short film promoting the HomePod. For all his faults, Elon Musk sure knows how to keep things interesting.Yesterday, skies around the world lit up with what seems to be returning debris courtesy of Musk's private space travel company SpaceX. Specifically, the Dragon Freedom-2 Deb, a module that launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida in September of 2024 as part of a NASA mission to bring two astronauts to the International Space Station.Last week, the crew module of the Dragon returned to earth, bringing back four astronauts, including Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, both of whom became stuck on the ISS in June of 2024 after technical difficulties with Boeing's Starliner turned their eight-day stay into a months-long ordeal.But yesterday, the unmanned portion of the Dragon assumed to be the unpressurized cargo trunk,due to publicly-tracked Dragon reentry datawhich closelymatches reported locations of the fireballs rained down on skies as far apart as California, Nevada, Morocco, and Australia. That caused some wild lightshows to illuminate the sky, driving curious observers to social media to speculate on the cause.Though the exact point of reentry is uncertain, we know that the Dragon whipped across the Pacific ocean, appearing over central California and western Nevada as it screamed toward north-eastern Canada, leading to fireball sightings from Portland, Oregon to Phoenix, Arizona. From there it arched over the northern Atlantic on a trajectory roughly on a path toward Morocco, reaching mid-reentry over Cameroon, finally completing its rapid global loop somewherearound the Indian Ocean and southeastern Australia.SpaceX and NASA have yet to release a statement on the trunk's reentry, and no debris has been found on the ground. That might have something to do with the nature of its return: as the crew modulereentered, the Dragon trunk was jettisoned and left to dawdle in orbit uncontrolled. That's not unheard of for SpaceX, according to Harvard astronomer Jonathan McDowell, who wrote that "this is the last Dragon trunk to be intentionally left in orbit for uncontrolled reentry."The fiery return is driving some discourse around the near limitless freedom SpaceX has been given to rain down debris on the earth without oversight."Would it be fair to say that 'most' if not all of this trunk section will burn up in the atmosphere on reentering?" one incredulous user asked McDowell on X-formerly-Twitter. "Anything left will not contain toxic fuels or materials that could cause major harm to kids and animals?"Earlier in February, people took to X to report random chunks of of debris from SpaceX's Falcon 2 launch falling willy-nilly across Poland. In January 2025 alone, over 125 of Musk's Starlink satellites fell out of the sky, prompting concerns about the consequences the equipment causes on reentry, like scattering dangerous chemical waste into the ozone layer and falling in unpredictable locations.As Starlink becomes the dominant provider of internet access to rural populations around the globe, questions of the network's costly upkeep necessitating a nearly constant stream of satellite launches to keep stable and of the man holding the reins are growing louder and louder.Though space travel holds exciting possibilities, it goes without saying that the health and wellbeing of those of us still on the ground shouldn't be taken for granted to make it possible.Share This Article
