Nintendo accidentally confirmed the Switch 2's mystery button is a "C" Button, in some promotional material for the company's new Nintendo Today app on the Google Play store. The reveal happened after the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, during which Nintendo also announced virtual game cards and showcased Metroid Prime 4 again. Twitter and Bluesky user Wario64 first spotted it and posted a zoomed-in version of the image to make viewing it easier.We speculated about the nature of the mystery button shortly after Nintendo revealed the Switch 2 at the start of the year. At the time, it was just a blank square situated under the "Home" button on the right Joy-Con. It's roughly where the invisible NFC detector is on the original Switch, the tool that scans Amiibo.
