WWW.RESETERA.COMNintendo scrubs mentions of the Nintendo Switch 2 supporting VRR on a TV while dockedRandomlyRandom67 Member Jul 7, 2023 2,321 Seems like VRR won't be supported on TVs after all, pretty disappointing. WCCFTECH.COMMaingear Launches New MG-1 Pre-Built Systems, Featuring NVIDIA RTX 5060 And RTX 5060 Ti GPUsMaingear MG-1 will now be available with NVIDIA's latest 60-class GPUs from Blackwell family, featuring decently powerful specs for gaming at 1080p. Maingear Debuts MG-1 Silver and Gold Pre-Configured Systems Based on RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti GPUs As NVIDIA launched its latest RTX 5060 series, several OEMs have announced their newest lineups of PCs featuring the latest Blackwell gaming GPUs. Maingear has debuted its newest gaming pre-built systems powered by both RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards. The company has been making pre-built systems using the latest AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel hardware and has just updated its MG-1 gaming system lineup. The MG-1 PCs will be available in Silver and Gold configurations and will feature both the newly launched RTX 5060 series GPUs to enhance gaming experience at 1080p and 1440p resolutions. Right now, only the RTX 5060 Ti-based MG-1 Gold configuration is available on the official Maingear website, but more will be coming soon. The RTX 5060 will officially hit the shelves next month. Therefore, Maingear's RTX 5060-based MG-1 systems will be available next month as well. The MG-1 with RTX 5060 Ti comes with AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, a powerful mid-range Zen 5 CPU that is an ideal choice to pair with the 5060 Ti. The system will feature 16 GB DDR5 6400 MT/s of memory and 1 TB of storage but can be upgraded as per requirement. The CPU will be cooled using an AIO solution and will be installed on an AMD B850 motherboard to enable overclocking. The price of this system with 16 GB/1 TB starts at $1699 and will include 1 year of warranty. The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti has been launched in two editions: 8 GB and 16 GB, carrying price tags as $379 and $429 respectively. Considering the Maingear MG-1 with RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB costs $1699, the rest of the configuration costs $1270, which is definitely more than what you would pay if you bought the components separately, but if you don't want to face the hassle of building the system, Maingear will be doing the job for you. As far as the performance of these systems goes, expect them to be ideal for both 1080p and 1440p gaming and will offer the latest Multi-Frame Generation and Transformer Model DLSS for improved performance and visual quality. The RTX 5060-based Maingear systems should cost $1500 with a similar configuration but you will have to wait for the next month. News Source: Maingear Deal of the Day0 Comments 0 Shares 113 Views

WWW.POLYGON.COMOne of SteelSeries’ best gaming headsets is on sale for its Black Friday priceIf you’re looking for a new gaming headset, one of our favorite models is currently discounted to its Black Friday price at Best Buy. The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless is usually $279.99, but you can currently pick up a pair of these sick cans for just $139.99. While the Arctis Pro may not be quite as fancy as the current flagship gaming headset from SteelSeries, the Nova Pro Wireless, it still shares a number of significant features with its successor. These include virtual surround sound capability, and swappable battery packs. Just like the Nova Pro Wireless, the Arctis Pro comes packaged with a base station that can be tethered to either your PC, Nintendo Switch, or PlayStation via USB, and allows you to seamlessly swap between inputs in addition to charging the headsets battery packs. Primarily designed to be used with gaming consoles, the Arctis Pro Wireless also features an optical input, plus Bluetooth connectivity if you’d like to pair the headset with your phone. While the Arctis Pro is a little over six years old at this point, if something breaks or you want to swap out the headband for something more your style, SteelSeries still supports this headset with a robust collection of accessories and replacement parts.0 Comments 0 Shares 54 Views

LIFEHACKER.COMTikTok Is Getting Community Notes Now TooTikTok is joining the ranks of social networks with Community Notes programs, which allow users to add context, corrections, and additional information to posts on the platform. The new feature is called Footnotes, and it will be rolled out first on short-form videos in the U.S. TikTok is just the latest app to add user-generated notes for existing content, though it has yet to drop formal fact-checking and other content moderation entirely. In February, Meta announced plans for a Community Notes beta to replace fact-checking on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads and is now admitting contributors from the program's waitlist. YouTube and X both have active Community Notes programs as well (X's Community Notes, formerly known as Birdwatch, replaced the option to report misleading content). According to TikTok's page explaining the program, Footnotes can only be added to public posts but will remain visible if those posts are made private. Creators can add footnotes to and rate footnotes on their own content if they are enrolled contributors. Footnotes must meet a threshold for "helpful" as rated by contributors before they become visible to all users (who can then vote on them as well). TikTok will still partner with IFCN-accredited fact-checking organizations to assess the accuracy of content on the platform. How to sign up to write TikTok FootnotesUsers in the U.S. can apply to write Footnotes starting today if they are at least 18 years old, have been on TikTok for six months or more, have a valid email address or U.S. phone number, and have no history of violating the platform's community guidelines within the last six months. TikTok may also notify users who meet these eligibility requirements, and those approved for the program can begin contributing "over the coming months."0 Comments 0 Shares 58 Views

WWW.ENGADGET.COMSony raises PlayStation Plus prices in CanadaSony is jacking up PlayStation Plus prices in Canada. In an email to Engadget's Kris Holt, the company said the increase would apply to subscribers' first payments on or after June 24. The price hikes are now live on the PS Plus website for new Canadian subscribers. They vary depending on the tier and billing period but range from 12 to 22 percent higher than they were yesterday. The new Canadian prices for PS Plus Premium are CA$25 monthly (up from $21), $69 for three months (from $60) and — yikes — $225 for a year (from $190). Meanwhile, Extra members will now pay $21 monthly (from $18), $56 for three months (from $50) and $190 annually (from $155). Finally, Essential subscribers' prices go up to $14 monthly (from $12), $35 for three months (from $30) and $110 annually (from $95). Sony Other countries saw (previously announced) price increases go into effect on Wednesday. These include — deep breath — Australia, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. So far, we haven't seen or heard of any US or UK price increases. The company didn't mention the elephant in the room — tariffs — in its email, instead justifying the price increase in vague terms. "This is necessary to enable us to continue bringing you high-quality games and benefits," it stated. But in a blog post last week announcing similar rate hikes in other countries, Sony perhaps hinted at the "T" word. "Like many businesses around the world, we continue to be impacted by global market conditions and will be adjusting our local prices for PlayStation Plus," Game Services Director Adam Michel wrote. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/gaming/playstation/sony-raises-playstation-plus-prices-in-canada-205342723.html?src=rss0 Comments 0 Shares 59 Views
