Unlocking the Power of AI & ML: A Simple Guide to Get Started
Unlocking the Power of AI & ML: A Simple Guide to Get Started5 min read·Just now--Photo by Igor Omilaev on UnsplashHey there! So, you’ve probably heard a lot about AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) recently, right? Whether it’s the self-driving car tech or the recommendation algorithms behind your favorite Netflix shows, AI and ML are shaping the world in ways we never imagined. But, here’s the cool thing: you don’t have to be a tech wizard to dive in and start exploring these exciting fields. Trust me — anyone can do it.In this article, I’ll break it down for you in simple terms, share some relatable examples, and offer some practical steps to get started. So, let’s take the fear out of AI & ML and make it something you’re excited to try! What Exactly Are AI & ML?Let’s kick things off by understanding what we’re talking about. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is all about making machines smart — like giving a computer the ability to think, learn, and make decisions. Think of it as a brain for machines. Machine Learning (ML) is a subset of AI that allows machines to learn from data without being explicitly programmed. It’s like teaching a child to recognize patterns and make decisions based on what they see.Example time: Ever noticed how your phone’s camera can detect faces? That’s AI in action. It analyzes the shapes and patterns in your photo and figures out that there’s a face, even if the angle or lighting isn’t perfect. Cool, right? Why Should You Care About AI & ML?You might be wondering, “Okay, this all sounds great, but what does it have to do with me?” Well, AI and ML are everywhere — seriously! From personalized shopping recommendations on Amazon to the way Spotify suggests new music, these technologies are already part of your life. And here’s the kicker: by learning AI & ML, you’re not just catching up with the future; you’re shaping it.I’ll be honest — when I first heard about AI, I thought it was way over my head. I mean, I’m no computer scientist, right? But as I started learning, I realized that you don’t need to be an expert to get started. You don’t even need a fancy degree. What you need is curiosity and the willingness to explore. And that’s exactly what I did.

PlayStation Portal’s Cloud Streaming Beta Now Allows Game Capture, Pausing
News PlayStation Portal’s Cloud Streaming Beta Now Allows Game Capture, Pausing PlayStation Portal users now also have access to UI and UX improvements, including the ability to sort their Cloud Streaming games. Posted By Joelle Daniels | On 09th, Apr. 2025 Sony has released a new firmware update for the PlayStation Portal. With the update, Sony is bringing in improvements to the system’s Cloud Streaming Beta technology, as well as other, more general user experience improvements across the board. One of the bigger new features is the ability for players to sort the games in their Cloud Streaming catalogue screen. Among the sorting methods available are “Recently Added to PS Plus”, Release Date, and Alphabetical. The update will now also allow PlayStation Portal users to capture gameplay during a Cloud Streaming session. Much like the PS5, the gameplay capture options on the PlayStation Portal make use of the device’s Share button. Pressing it once opens up the create menu. Pressing and holding takes a screenshot, while pressing it twice starts or finishes recording a video clip. Any screenshots and videos captured through this will automatically be uploaded to the cloud server, which can then be accessed through the PlayStation App. Captures are stored for 14 days. If PlayStation’s cloud streaming servers are full, the PlayStation Portal now allows players to join a waiting list. This also lets the player know what the estimated waiting time will be, and the waiting list will automatically start the game when it becomes available. Cloud Streaming users can now also pause their game during a session. This is done by opening up the PS Portal quick menu by hitting the PS button. A game can also be suspended by putting the PS Portal into rest mode. However, a streaming session will be disconnected if the PS Portal is in rest mode for more than 15 seconds with a game suspended. In order to further help players manage their time during Cloud Streaming, the PS Portal will also display a notification in case the player has been inactive in the game for long enough that the session is close to being ended automatically. Ultimately, there is also a new feedback screen where PS Portal users trying out the Cloud Streaming beta can submit their feedback for Sony. “Thanks to the support and feedback from our player as we continue to add new features to further enhance the PS Portal experience, including support for select public Wi-Fi networks, which we launched last year,” wrote Sony Interactive Entertainment’s VP of Product Management Shuzo Kikuchi on the PlayStation Blog. “We hope you enjoy the new beta features – your feedback is essential for us to evolve the streaming game experience even further, and we look forward to hearing what you think!” The PlayStation Portal kicked off its Cloud Streaming Beta back in November 2024. The beta, available specifically to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, features a library of more than 120 PS5 games from across the PlayStation Plus catalogue. This includes major releases like Monster Hunter Rise, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Ghost of Tsushima. The device is currently capable of streaming games at up to 1080p and 60 frames per seconds. It is also capable of making use of all DualSense features of the PlayStation Portal even when streaming games. So... what's going on with Ken Levine's Judas?
despair Member Oct 27, 2017 119 the last thing I can find is this Polygon article from January talking about Levine giving an interview at the end of the year where they still thought "Judas is tentatively scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime before March 31, 2025." and Take Two back in 2023 saying it'll definitely come out by then and they aren't afraid of delays. i don't think the game has actually been shown off in any way for over a year despite supposedly being so close to finished. there has not even been a single news update on the game's official website since last march. if it didn't make this date there's probably no way they release it near borderlands and gta. we're not seeing it anytime soon (if ever) are we ;_;  TapDancingFreak Member Dec 12, 2017 4,483 Charlotte, NC It looks so dated. Hoping the best for the devs   PucePikmin Member Apr 26, 2018 5,134 I'm going to guess some sort of scheduling thing related to GTA VI (holding it back so it can prop up late 2025 if GTA VI is delayed?) I don't think Take Two is going to let them delay it past FY26, they've become too demanding of revenue targets to let developers under their wing really work on unique or lower-performing titles (I'm looking at you, Firaxis). The marketing blitz they did this time last year with press demos were already said to be playtests but according to the sites I checked that participated, it seems that they were doing well and could be close.   Z-Brownie Member Nov 6, 2017 4,282 I guess Levine is doing what Levine do ... rework games for a decade until it's on his terms of "done".   JigglesBunny Prophet of Truth Avenger Oct 27, 2017 35,639 Chicago Same thing that happens with all Ken Levine joints. It's okay if they don't ship. It doesn't make Ken or the people that work there terrible people, bad developers, or anything like that. I assume he obviously wanted a scenario where he could take much more creative risk and creative control, and with that risk, carries serious implications on development timelines. My advice would be to just let them get on with it, and if/when they ship a game. Great. As others point out, they had previews for the game last year, so it definitely doesn't seem like it's not coming out. If it's previewing then it's in late stage production, beyond the point where you tend to see things like vision/creative pivots that tend to upend games.

Video game titles like Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV and Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World are too long and I think Nintendo should do something about it
Last week, Nintendo announced a handful of Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of original Switch games, including Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. What became immediately clear was that game titles like Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition are entirely too long, and this naming practice needs to stop! These overly wordy titles are not new, of course. Nintendo has published re-releases like Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition for Switch — these lengthy names help to differentiate these titles from their original versions. Nintendo is navigating a rocky console transition, and is trying to make it explicit which of its older titles have been upgraded to showcase Switch 2’s features. But something has to change.Granted, I’m arguing this mainly from the position of someone who might need to put Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition in the headline of a story on Polygon, and in most cases, am asked to write short, punchy headlines. Naturally, I find these names — which span upward of 77 characters — to be unwieldy. Can Nintendo not simply add a DX or Deluxe or some other single-word descriptor to these game titles to shorten them? What about return to the DS era, when game companies communicated the platform on which software was released by sticking Dawn of Sorrow, Dual Strike, or Destiny’s Soldier at the end of a title? Can we not just look at a game’s box art, see the words “New Funky Mode” in the upper right corner and acknowledge that we’re getting something extra?Maybe these aren’t great solutions. (I would greatly appreciate alternative suggestions!) And maybe I’m approaching this from an inside-baseball perspective, where I’m loath to ask the people who define our style guide “Hey, do we italicize ‘Nintendo Switch 2 Edition’ in Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV?” But I also think that the solution that Nintendo has landed on is awkward and ungainly, even if we’re only going to get a handful of games named this way as Nintendo transitions from the Switch to Switch 2.But I stand by the claim that, as game titles go, Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition are entirely too long. Even if Nintendo can’t do something about it now, let it never happen again.See More:

President Trump Breaks Silence After Tariff Pause – Says Chinese Are “Proud People” & Xi Is “A Proud Man”
This is not investment advice. The author has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. Wccftech.com has a disclosure and ethics policy. President Donald Trump is confident that China wants to make a deal with the US after he raised tariffs against the country while announcing a 90-day pause for all other countries earlier today. Trump's announcement, made on his social media platform, sent markets surging, with individual stocks gaining as much as 20% as markets took a sigh of relief after days of heavy losses. However, in a media talk after the announcement, the President asserted that nothing is over yet and added that China is eager to make a deal with him but just doesn't know how to. His comments about China mirrored those made by the White House press secretary as she confirmed during a conference that Trump would levy a total of 104% tariffs on Chinese goods starting today. President Trump Asserts Countries Are Eager To Negotiate Fair Trade With America Following the President's social media post, tech and travel stocks rallied and posted double-digit percentage gains. Two of the top performers were Tesla and United Airlines, whose shares have gained 21% and 25% today, respectively. After his social media post, Trump gave a brief talk to reporters, in which he shared that China's imbalance in trade with the US is unfair. "Last year China made 1 trillion dollars off trade with the United States. That's not right," stated Trump. His social media post, which announced the 90-day tariff pause, also revealed 125% tariffs on China, as China had announced earlier that it would increase tariffs on American goods. Trump added that his pause is "for a short period of time" and asserted that "somebody had to do it." The President maintained that "nothing's over yet," as he believes that the US is witnessing a "tremendous amount of spirit from other countries" when it comes to negotiating trade terms with America. These countries include China, shared Trump. "China wants to make a deal. They just don't know how to go about it. You know, it's one of those things," said Trump. "They're proud people," he added, including President Xi, who is "a proud man," believes the President. "I know him [Xi] very well," he outlined. Trump believes that China doesn't "quite know how to go about it. But they'll figure it out. They're in the process of figuring it out." He maintained that "they [Chinese] want to make a deal." Apart from China, other countries are also interested in making a deal. Trump shared that they'll either approach the White House, the Treasury Department or the Commerce Department to negotiate trade terms with America. He added that the 90-day pause was for all countries that didn't retaliate to his tariffs. He pointed out, "I told them if you retaliate, we're going to double it. And that's what I did with China, because they did retaliate." "We'll see how it all works out. I think that it's going to work out amazing," he maintained. "Someday you have to cut the bow and you have to do what you do . . .and that's what I did and I'm very happy to have done it," said Trump. Deal of the Day
