Facing the Future with AI: The Next Leap Towards Superintelligence
Facing the Future with AI: The Next Leap Towards Superintelligence2 min read·Just now--The world of artificial intelligence is advancing faster than ever. While today’s AI tools help us automate tasks, generate content, and improve productivity, a new chapter is emerging — superintelligent AI. This future form of AI could far exceed human intelligence, logic, and emotional understanding. The question is: Are we ready to face the rise of such advanced intelligence? What is Superintelligent AI?Superintelligent AI goes beyond smart algorithms and chatbots. It represents a level of intelligence that surpasses the best human minds in every domain — from creative writing to scientific research. Unlike current AI systems that rely on human-generated data, these advanced systems will be capable of original reasoning, decision-making, and even emotional analysis. But as promising as this sounds, it also raises serious concerns. The most important one? How to align artificial intelligence with human values before it outgrows our control. Why Alignment Matters in the Age of AIOne of the biggest fears experts have is that an AI, once superintelligent, may pursue goals that conflict with ours. It’s not about evil robots taking over — it’s about machines interpreting commands in ways we never intended. For example, if we tell an AI to solve global warming, and it determines that reducing human activity is the best solution, that could obviously be dangerous. That’s why AI alignment — ensuring AI understands and respects our values — is crucial.Understanding how to align artificial intelligence with human values will become one of the most important discussions of the 21st century. This isn’t just a technical issue; it’s a moral one that demands collaboration between developers, ethicists, and policymakers.Visit More ReadSuperintelligent AI

How to activate the Boiler Room in Blue Prince
The Boiler Room provides power to certain rooms around the estate in Blue Prince. The Boiler Room will send steam power through the steam ducts on the ceiling to any connecting room, as long as they also have steam ducts. However, you’ll need to figure out how to activate the steam power first, which will require you to turn a lot of valves and pipes. Solving the puzzle can be very tedious, but once solved, you’ll unlock a lot of useful mechanics. Here’s how to activate the Boiler Room in Blue Prince. How to activate the Boiler Room in Blue Prince Before activating the steam power in the Boiler Room, you should know what you’re working with: Three green steam tanks — There are two green tanks on the lower floor and one green tank on the upper floor. Each tank has a valve that turns it on and releases steam through its connecting pipes. Rotatable red pipes — On the lower floor, there are two rotatable red pipes that can redirect the steam in different directions. Small blue hand levers — There are two small blue hand levers that can control the direction the steam is flowing. One can be found on the lower floor, while the other can be found beside the tank on the upper floor. Control panel — On the upper floor, you’ll find a control panel in the center of the room. This control panel will allow you to activate the steam power in the Boiler Room and redirect the steam through the ducts. How to activate each green tank First things first, you’ll need to activate all three green tanks in the Boiler Room. Activate the first green tank at the bottom of the stairs by rotating its valve, which will release steam through its connecting pipe. Next, rotate the red pipes so that the steam is directed towards the second tank on the lower floor. This will activate the vertical conveyor belt that was blocking the second tank’s valve, but, to turn the valve, you’ll need to stop the conveyor belt from moving at just the right time. We recommend turning the first green tank on and off until you can turn the second tank’s valve. With the second tank activated, turn the blue hand lever, which can be found on its connecting pipe, to the right, and follow the pipe to the rotatable red pipe. Turn the red pipe so it’s pointed towards the elevator in the corner, activate its buttons. Get on the elevator and ride it to the top to find the next green tank. Turn the valve on the green tank and redirect the small blue hand lever on its connecting pipe towards the left. At the end of the walkway, turn the lever to the left to lift and unlock the barred door. Next, ride the elevator back down to the lower floor to redirect steam to the control panel. To redirect steam to the control panel, you’ll need to rotate the red pipes and small blue hand lever so that steam is directed from the tanks to the center of the room. Once the steam has been rerouted, walk up the stairs and along the pathways to the control panel. Press the activate button to turn on the control panel and send steam power through its ducts. Below the control panel, you’ll find a slider that can be shifted to the left and right. This will shift the steam power to the left and right ducts respectively — meaning power will only be sent to rooms in said direction. How to connect power from the Boiler Room in Blue Prince To connect power from the Boiler Room to other rooms in Blue Prince, you’ll need to activate the control panel in the center of the upper floor, and shift the power towards one of the doorways. Then, you’ll need to draft a connecting room that has needs power: Laboratory Garage Pump Room Laundry Room However, as drafting is random, luck is not always in your favor. Instead, you might need to draft a room that has ducts: Boiler Room Security Room Laboratory Pump Room Locker Room Passageway Archives Darkroom Power will go through the ducts in these rooms — giving you another chance to draft one of the rooms that needs power. Once a powered-connection has been made, the ducts will glow blue. For more Blue Prince guides, here’s how to use the Pump Room, how to use the Secret Garden Key, how to tell the date and time, and a list of all safe codes. How to Try Copilot’s New ‘Vision’ and File Search Updates
Microsoft announced a plethora of Copilot upgrades at the start of the week, and we're now starting to see some of them roll out—to Windows Insiders, at least. The Copilot app for Windows has now been updated to support Copilot Vision and file search, so the AI bot is better able to interact with whatever's on your PC.Copilot Vision first appeared on the web last year, but it's new to the Windows app: It essentially lets the AI "see" what's happening on your computer, so you can ask it about websites you're viewing, or documents you're editing, or songs you're listening to, without having to take a screenshot or do any copying or pasting. Copilot Vision can see what's on your screen. Credit: Microsoft It's somewhat similar to the Windows Recall feature that remains in limited testing, and which also gives the operating system more access to what's on your screen. This does of course raise a few worries around privacy, but Microsoft promises users stay in full control of what's accessible, and that all data is deleted after every Copilot Vision session.Microsoft imagines users taking advantage of Copilot Vision to chat through plans for a trip, or for help when shopping online. As the AI can see what you're seeing, it's able to pick out ideas and give feedback on what you're talking about, with interactions primarily handled via voice. Copilot file search in action. Credit: Microsoft Then there's file search, which means Copilot can find, open, and chat about files stored locally on your system. You might want to look for your résumé, for example, or bring up a slideshow you were working on last month—all these requests can be handled using natural language queries. You can even ask about the contents of your files—so you could, for example, get Copilot to pull out spending figures from a spreadsheet. Again, Microsoft says you'll be in full control over what Copilot can and can't access in terms of your files: Everything is going to be handled through the permissions configured in Copilot's settings. How to start testingEventually, these features will appear in the stable version of Windows for all users, though that may take a while (Microsoft hasn't announced an exact timetable). In the meantime, you can test these new Copilot features early, if you're prepared to sign up for the Windows Insider Program. You can do that for free here. The Windows Insider Program is like any other beta testing program: You get access to new features earlier than everyone else, but there are likely to be a few more bugs that you come across. It's generally not recommended to run Insider versions of Windows on a laptop or desktop that's critical to your day-to-day computing. Once you're up and running as a Windows Insider, you'll find you can sign up for the beta channel of Windows 11 through the Windows Update part of Settings in Windows. Shortly after, you'll get a new download, which will install the beta version on your computer (you can switch back to the stable version any time you like). With all that taken care of, you need the latest version of Copilot on your computer: Look for version 1.25034.133.0 or later on the Microsoft Store. Microsoft says these features will come to Insiders in the U.S. first, then be available to everyone else after that—with the features "gradually rolling out" over time. Copilot Vision can be launched by clicking the glasses icon to the right of the main input box inside Copilot for Windows. You're then prompted to indicate which app or browser window you want to share with Copilot, and you can then chat with the bot using your voice. Click the Stop or X buttons to end a session.File search is built right into the Copilot app for Windows, so you can simply type out or speak out a query as you would in any other chat — something like "what were the places I shortlisted in my vacation plan document last week?" for example. As always with AI, I'd recommend double-checking the answers you get for anything important.

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders: Release date, prices, delays and everything else you need to know
Folks in the UK may be able to pre-order a Nintendo Switch 2 now, but Americans are still waiting for their time to shine. Switch 2 pre-orders in the US remain indefinitely delayed. In response to new tariffs announced by President Donald Trump, Nintendo delayed Switch 2 pre-orders in the U.S. Canadians will also have to wait as Nintendo has now also indefinitely delayed pre-orders in that country as well, according to a report from MobileSyrup and confirmed by Walmart of Canada via a post on X. According a statement Nintendo provided to Engadget: "Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged." President Trump recently announced a 90-day pause on steep “reciprocal” tariffs affecting 75 countries, but also announced that the tariff imposed on China will go up to 125 percent (we now know it's up to 145 percent for that country). It’s still unclear what this could mean for Switch 2 pre-orders and pricing, but we do know this: Nintendo started moving some of its Switch console manufacturing to Vietnam in 2019. The reciprocal tariff for Vietnam was set to be 46 percent, but with this latest announcement, that appears to be on hold for now in favor of a 10 percent reciprocal tariff that’s now in effect for the 90-day pause period. The latest speculation is that Nintendo will ramp up production of Switch 2 units in Vietnam so it can ship them to the U.S. on schedule, and possibly even selling them at a loss in the short term. Nintendo had previously announced the April 9 pre-order date for North America, along with the June 5 date for wider availability. The starting price was to be $450, but that could change now in response to the proposed tariffs. Participating retailers will also be selling the Switch 2 when it eventually makes its way to the U.S. We expect those to include Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart and others. There's some fine-print attached to pre-ordering directly from Nintendo. According to the pre-order page on Nintendo's site, you must be 18 years or older, sign in with your Nintendo account and register your interest in pre-ordering. Then, you'll be sent an invitation email when it's time to play your pre-order, and the invitation will be valid for 72 hours. And then there's this bit of info: "Invitation emails will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis to registrants who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership with a minimum of 12 months of paid membership and a minimum of 50 total gameplay hours, as of April 2, 2025." That seems to mean those who have paid for Switch Online in the recent past and those who have spent a good amount of time playing Switch games as of late will get first pick at buying a Switch 2. There's no telling if these same restrictions will apply if you want to pre-order from third-party retailers. We knew from the teaser trailer for the Switch 2 that Nintendo's new hardware would be bigger and would have a new approach to the detachable Joy-Cons. The new Joy-Con 2 have a new C button, mouse controls and a built in gyroscope for tilt control. The console has a built-in mic to support a new feature called Game Chat that will let you communicate with friends in-game. The device is indeed a bit larger, with a 7.9-inch LCD screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR and a 1080p resolution. When docked, you'll be able to play at up to 4K on your TV, and Nintendo says it improved the consoles internal speakers as well. The new dock also has a built-in fan to keep the console cool and help maintain performance during long play sessions. The Switch 2 has dual USB-C ports for charging, and the base storage amount has increased to 256GB. The Switch 2's storage can be expanded like the previous model, but it will only work with newer microSD Express cards. The Switch 2 has a number of accessories that you'll be able to purchase separately as well, including the new Switch 2 camera for $50, a new Switch 2 Pro controller for $80, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers for $90, a Joy-Con 2 charging grip for $35 and more. However, considering the new question of tariffs, it's unclear if those accessory prices will change before customers can actually order the gear.
